On Wednesday, Indian pacer Deepak Chahar shared a new look with his fans in which the cricketer can be seen with a beard, a crew cut and a nick which goes across his temple, and through his left eyebrow.

Within a few hours of Chahar sharing the image, former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's wife Sakshi expressed that she was impressed with the new hairdo worn by the Chennai Super Kings cricketer.

"Fierce look Deepak," Sakshi wrote in the comments section of the 28-year old’s Instagram post. His sister, Malti Chahar also commented, while comparing him to the popular HBO series Game of Thrones character Khal Drogo played by American actor Jason Momoa.

However, it seems as if only close family members and Sakshi Dhoni seemed to like this new avatar as most of Chahar’s followers went on to criticise the look while expressing that he is 13 years too late to imitate Aamir Khan’s look from Ghajini.

As far as Chahar’s on-field performance is concerned, the pacer was not selected for the roster which is currently in England for the one-off World Test Championship final against Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side, followed by a four-match Test series against Joe Root’s Englishmen.

However, with the possibility of a second Indian team touring Sri Lanka in July, Chahar remains of the top picks as a pacer and could be seen bowling in the death overs for the Men in Blue in limited-overs cricket.

He was last seen in action playing at a high level for the three-time IPL winners CSK during the first leg of the 14th season before it came to a sudden halt thanks to a breach in the bio-bubble against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

After BCCI top-man Sourav Ganguly visited the United Arab Emirates, it has now been confirmed that the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 will take place in the UAE between September and October.
