1. against the Baltimore Ravens. With the Ravens needing a win to advance to the playoffs and the Browns’ fate sealed Jim Brown Color Rush Jersey , it would have been easy to foresee a blowout. Instead, the Browns showed a lot of fight both on the field and in their gameplan. The Ravens ended the 2018 season with the lowest yards per game allowed by any defense in the NFL, and top 5 marks in passing yards and rushing yards allowed per game. The Ravens allowed the opposing team’s offense to score on only 29.1% of their drives Jamie Collins Jersey , which was good for 2nd best in the NFL. And if advanced metrics are more your thing, Football Outsiders ranked the Ravens as the league’s 3rd best defense. Basically this Ravens defense was very good no matter how you looked at it.Never afraid of a challenge, Freddie Kitchens drew up a gameplan that utilized a fair amount of the aggressive four verticals concept for QB Baker Mayfield. Here is my video breakdown of those plays: Cornerback Greedy Williams was on his way to the first round of the draft in Nashville last week when he asked someone in his party if every player attending would be selected that night. He was surprised to learn that there are always players who are left in the green room once the first round comes to an end and he learned a few hours later that he fell into that category this year. Williams wound up being selected by the Browns in the second round and he was asked on Friday if he was bothered by not being one of the first 32 players off the board.“I feel like God’s got a place for everybody. My place wasn’t going in the first round Christian Kirksey Color Rush Jersey ,” Williams said from Browns minicamp. “My place was to be in “The Land” and come build with a great team, great coaching staff. I’m just happy to be here, ready to go to work with the vets and hopefully we’re going where we’re supposed to go.”Williams added that being the seventh cornerback chosen was something he’ll use as a motivational tool as he embarks on his time in Cleveland.Williams made it clear where he believes the Browns are supposed to go when he said last week that they’ll be heading to the Super Bowl. Williams said that was “just excitement” about launching his NFL career , but no one in “The Land” would mind if he turns out to be correct.
  2. workout bonuses to get players to show up , they have to pay more of them.Via Rob Demovsky of, the Packers have a total of 19 players with workout bonuses for attending the offseason program.Newcomers Zadarius Smith ($750,000) and Preston Smith ($550,000) have the biggest bonuses, but the Packers are paying 13 other guys at least $100,000 to show up and lift weights and run with their teammates.Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, David Bakhtiari, and Adrian Amos can earn $500,000 bonuses to lead the way, along with Mike Daniels ($400,000), Corey Linsley ($350,000) Dean Lowry Jersey , Billy Turner ($300,000), Jimmy Graham, Bryan Bulaga, and Lane Taylor ($250,000), Mason Crosby ($150,000), and Geronimo Allison and Tramon Williams ($100,000).The others include Marcedes Lewis ($50,000), Oren Burks ($25,000), Oren Burks ($15 Kentrell Brice Color Rush Jersey ,500), and Montravius Adams ($15,000).That’s a load of money to have to pay veteran players to report to Green Bay in April (when there’s still like six more months of winter, or something). MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — When Aaron Jones crossed the goal line early in the second quarter, capping a 75-yard drive that gave Green Bay a 14-7 lead at Minnesota, the Packers again put themselves in favorable position for a victory on the road against a winning team. That’s a formula coach Mike McCarthy’s backsliding bunch has yet to figure out this year.Unlike so many of his past teams with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, these Packers just keep on stumbling down the stretch. Now they’ll probably need a perfect finish to squeeze into the playoffs.Kirk Cousins passed for 342 yards and three touchdowns without a turnover for the Vikings, who overtook the depleted Packers for a 24-17 victory on Sunday .“We’ll see what we’re made of for the last five weeks,” Rodgers said. “Are we going to stick together through these tough times, or are we going to start splintering? I’d like to think that the leadership is in place that we can stick together through whatever happens, but these five weeks will show it.”The Packers went three and out on their first possession, only because Davante Adams accidentally stepped out of bounds before making what would’ve been a chain-moving catch on third down. Then Rodgers finished the second drive with a vintage back-shoulder touchdown throw to Adams , before Jones raced around left end on a crack toss sweep that Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said afterward was a perfect call for the defensive play he had dialed up.But the Packers went three-and-out the next time they had the ball and didn’t score again until a field goal with 2:20 left in the fourth quarter. Over their final seven possessions, they punted five times and had a turnover on downs when Jones was stopped on fourth-and-inches midway through the third quarter at their 44-yard line. On that final drive , Adams had what would’ve been a touchdown catch on third-and-1 at the 20 slip through his hands.“Our third down has been our black eye,” McCarthy said. The Packers (4-6-1) fell into 10th place in the NFC. They were beaten up, mentally and physically, by this five-game slog with losses on the road against the Rams (10-1), Patriots (8-3), Seahawks (6-5) and Vikings (6-4-1) when they were either tied or leading as late as the third quarter in each of those four games. The schedule softens, with four losing teams on the slate: home games against the Cardinals (2-9), Falcons (4-7) and Lions (4-7) and a trip to play the Jets (3-8) following a rematch with the NFC North-leading Bears (8-3) on the road. There’s a legitimate question, though, about whether the Packers have enough steam left to win out like they did in 2016 with six straight victories to win the division at 10-6 and reach the NFC championship game.“I knew we had a tough stretch. Four really tough places to play,” Rodgers said. “I didn’t think we’d go 1-4 on that stretch, but that’s where we’re at. We’re here: 4-6-1. We have to win our last five, and even that might not be enough.”This will be the first time since Rodgers took over as the starter in 2008 that the Packers don’t reach double-digit wins in the regular season when Rodgers doesn’t miss any games to injuries. They were 7-9 in 2017 and 8-7-1 in 2013 when Rodgers broke his collarbone. They were 6-10 in 2008.The injuries are the most tangible reason why the Packers might not be able to recover to reach the playoffs this year. Already missing several starters, they saw left tackle David Bakhtiari Oren Burks Jersey , left guard Lane Taylor, wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, wide receiver/kick returner Trevor Davis and safety Kentrell Brice all leave the game with injuries. The Packers, though, have been missing that mojo they’ve had so often in the Rodgers era all year long. This was their season low in points (14) and yards (254).“Sitting on the sideline, we kept asking ourselves why we’re so unlucky,” said Jones, who had 93 total yards on 20 touches. He added: “You can tell the guys in this locker room want it. We want it more than anyone else, and we’re right there each and every game, but it feels like it gets taken from us.”
  3. more dance moves than footballs this offseason. He loved every minute of it.So when the star quarterback returned to the Indianapolis Colts complex Monday Tyquan Lewis Jersey , he was rested, recharged and ready to start offseason workouts.“I finally got a chance to get away,” Luck said after the initial welcome back team meeting. “I talked to (general manager) Chris (Ballard) about that a little bit. He sort of challenged me to turn my mind off. It took a while, but I did get away. I feel refreshed. It was a very nice offseason.”At least it was different.Luck didn’t throw in either of the two previous offseasons, but not by choice. Instead, he followed doctor’s orders while recovering from surgery on his throwing shoulder. This time, Luck opted for a well-deserved break after perhaps the best season of his pro career.Plus, Luck had other plans. After dating Stanford gymnast Nicole Pechanec for nearly a decade, the couple finally got married last month in the Czech Republic.“Not much has changed besides a ring on the finger and she’s got great insurance now,” Luck cracked. “It’s awesome. It was the best day of my life and probably the best offseason I ever had.”Luck also had fun shooting a commercial for sports drink company Body Armor. The addition of baseball star Mike Trout helped convince Luck to take a chance.Dressed in 1970s disco garb, Luck and Trout cut it up on the dance floor — stirring up a conversation about Luck’s groovy moves. He even heard from Stanford coach David Shaw, who emailed that his children rewound the commercial multiple times when they first saw it.“My initial reaction to just about everything is no,” Luck said. “Then I thought about it and talked to my agent. He said Mike Trout was interested and I admire him very much. Then thought about it and – why not? I think I feel much more comfortable making fun of myself than trying to be cool.”He wasn’t the only Colts player to try his hand at performing.All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson posted a video on Instagram of himself, bare-chested, mimicking the moves from a Cardi B video. The rapper and fans weren’t the only ones who were watching.“I don’t know if Andrew was acting or not, but Quenton, I thought, was pretty good Ryan Grant Color Rush Jersey ,” center Ryan Kelly said. “As long as he (Nelson) keeps mowing people over in the running game, I don’t care.”Nelson did not speak Monday. But Luck said he is eager to get back to work nearly three months after the 2018 season ended with a divisional-round loss at Kansas City. The good news: Not much has changed inside the locker room.Ballard spent the offseason investing heavily in keeping the roster intact. Three more Colts players — receivers Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson and safety Mathias Farley — joined the list when they signed one-year tenders Monday.Indy has re-signed six of 15 unrestricted free agents, with receiver Ryan Grant the only player heading out of town. He signed with Oakland two weeks ago.Meanwhile, Ballard added only two newcomers, former Carolina receiver Devin Funchess and former Kansas City pass-rusher Justin Houston. Funchess gives Indy a bigger downfield threat. Houston brings a veteran presence to a young defense that improved dramatically under first-year coordinator Matt Eberflus.“With me doing a little bit of pass rushing, hopefully he’ll help with how I use my hands, learning what moves to use here and what moves to use there,” All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard said. “Hopefully, I can stay in his back pocket and learn from him.”And now that the offseason is over, Luck can’t wait to see how much he can improve on the big stage.“I haven’t thrown at all,” Luck said. “I’ll have a plan. Again, I have learned so many things over the past couple of years and part of that is building a plan and adjusting within it based on how you feel. We will certainly use the resources in the building and some other folks that help. So that’s a big part of this offseason as well.” The Indianapolis Colts concluded their second day of mandatory team minicamp, and here are some of the latest key developments from Wednesday:..." However, due to injuries, it’s the cornerbacks outside that quartet that also have made a lot of noise this offseason—namely Nate Hairston and Jalen Collins again on Wednesday (also with a shout-out to safety Malik Hooker):When general manager Chris Ballard first arrived in Indianapolis, he promised to not only improve the talent level of the roster, but its overall competition: top to bottom. Right now, the Colts have a dog fight on their hands for those #5-6 cornerback spots on their 53-man roster with a key special teamer like Chris Milton and rookie Marvell Tell presumably also in the mix. As the forgotten Temple Owl cornerback on the Colts roster, it’s easy to forget that Hairston had a pretty promising rookie season in 2017 from the slot. Last season, he was fairly underwhelming and took a step back, but he’s still only 24 years old and could rebound. Meanwhile, talent has never been the issue for former 2015 2nd round pick, Jalen Collins, who has been suspended for 24 games during his young NFL career. It’s just a matter of whether he can stay out of trouble off-the-field. The fact that young cornerbacks like Hairston and Collins are battling it out for the 5th or 6th spots on the Colts 53-man roster speaks to the team’s tremendous depth this offseason.
Jim Brown-USA TODAY SportsMore Mo Alie-Cox, Mo Problems (*for Opposing Defenses)With two Pro Bowlers Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle at the tight end position, young blossoming tight end Mo Alie-Cox sometimes becomes the unsung hero. However, with Doyle still rehabbing and Ebron limited to individual work so far in minicamp, Alie-Cox has seen the starter’s reps “in the limelight” with the first-team offense. Make no mistake about it, the former college basketball standout has successfully transitioned into an NFL caliber tight end and maybe much more. Alie-Cox has always had the athleticism and the big body. His blocking is exceptional already for having such limited football experience. Not to mention Eric Ebron Jersey , his ridiculous one-handed snag against the Oakland Raiders last season—showcased his raw natural ability. It’s his willingness (and hard work) to perfect his craft with improved route running this offseason that should have fans incredibly excited (via the Indianapolis Star’s Zak Keefer):If veteran Jack Doyle returns fully healthy, Indy’s tight end room is arguably their best position group on the entire roster—yes, cornerback included. Having a third tight end like Alie-Cox for the Colts is a big reason why and speaks dividends. Given his versatility in the run and passing game, he could be a big problem for opposing defenses to handle and match-up with.
Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsBen Banogu Beginning his Career as Primarily a DEMuch ado has been made about how the Colts planned on deploying 2nd round hybrid edge Ben Banogu. While the Colts first flirted with the idea of playing Banogu as a “Jamie Collins-like strong-side linebacker” with the ability to rush the passer, it looks like that idea has been placed somewhat on hold—at least initially:It makes a great deal of sense. Playing in the NFL is hard enough, let alone as a rookie. By keeping it simple for Banogu, keeping his hand in the dirt and letting him do what he does best, ‘get after the quarterback’—the Colts are placing him in a familiar comfort zone and a position to succeed. Banogu had 8.5 sacks last season for the TCU Horned Frogs, was first-team All-Big 12, and received the conference’s honorable mention for defensive lineman of the year. It doesn’t mean that the Colts can’t eventually play around with Banogu as a “Leo” or move him around as a pass rushing hybrid linebacker in their 4-3 scheme—given his tremendous athleticism. However, for now, it’s smart to keep it simple with his early learning curve. To his credit, Banogu has already been mimicking a star veteran pass rusher, new addition Justin Houston—where he could definitely learn a thing or two (maybe even a few hundred):
Other Minicamp Day 2 Notes:Star wide receiver T.Y. Nick Chubb Jersey

BEREA Nick Chubb Jersey , Ohio (AP) — Browns coach Hue Jackson knew if he complained about Sunday’s officiating he could be fined. The NFL is always watching and listening. He may soon be writing a check to Commissioner Roger Goodell.Still smarting after Cleveland’s road losing streak reached 22 consecutive games with an overtime loss at Oakland, Jackson was asked Monday if he was satisfied the officials had correctly spotted the ball in the closing minutes on a critical measurement that was overturned by a replay review.“There are a lot of things that I am not satisfied about,” he said.Jackson then clicked off a few.“The kicking of the football down the field right next to the official, the sack-fumble on a quarterback … Do you guys want me to keep going?” he asked reporters. “The spot. It goes on and on and on. We have to do a better job of being in control of it, not the officials being in control of it.”Although Jackson didn’t solely lay the 45-42 loss to the Raiders on the refs, there’s no denying that some questionable calls that went against the Browns (1-2-1) led to another heartbreaking loss. The Browns appeared to pick up a game-sealing first down — and were poised to win rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield’s first start — with 1:38 left in regulation as running back Carlos Hyde gained 2 yards on third-and-2.But replay official Billy Smith ruled Hyde was short of the marker and overturned the conversion. The Browns were forced to punt and the Raiders wound up tying the score and winning in OT on a 29-yard field goal.Even by Cleveland standards, this one hurt.Jackson, though, came away feeling encouraged by his young team. The Browns overcame a litany of their own mistakes and were in position to win before their defense crumbled at the end of regulation. The losses keep mounting for Jackson, now 0-18 on the road and 2-33-1 during his two-plus seasons in Cleveland. But he’s convinced these Browns are not the old Browns.“We have never been this close since I have been here, not as close as we have been in these four weeks,” he said.“There have been some games (in past years) where I think that we played as well as we could play and had a chance to win and make a play down the stretch. This team feels different. This team is more talented. I do not think that there is any remains of the past teams.”The league stood by its ruling, with a spokesman saying several camera angles were used to clarify Hyde’s elbow hit the ground short of the first down.“From the line feed Chad Thomas Color Rush Jersey , you can see the line to gain is just past the 19-yard line,” the spokesman said. “One replay angle shows the wrist and the elbow hit the ground simultaneously.”The debatable calls aside, the Browns continue to be plagued by familiar problems. They’re committing too many penalties and special teams have been special in name only. But unlike the past two seasons, Jackson said there’s no sense of doom on the sideline during games, no feeling that things will go from bad to worse.“I do not get the sense of what I felt before down there,” he said. “I get the sense that this is a team that is really starting to come together and understand how close they are. Now what they have to do is go finish those things.”It’s not a stretch to think the Browns could be 3-1 or even 4-0. But a blocked field goal in the opener against Pittsburgh and several missed kicks at New Orleans cost them two wins before they blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter Sunday and were swallowed up in the Black Hole. They have to learn to finish, and center JC Tretter believes the Browns are learning while taking a few more lumps.“We have a lot of grit on this team,” he said. “Even last year, you saw it. Obviously, last year we were not able to get any wins, but we never stopped fighting no matter what the circumstances were during the game, and I think that mentality has carried over. Now with the added talent and experience, that effort late in games you can come back from almost anything.“We lost our 14-point lead , and those are sometimes tougher to bounce back from after you have it and you lose it. Just that we kept plugging along and kept pushing, and obviously, we come back. There is no quit and there is no rolling over on this team.”NOTES: Jackson said rookie RB Nick Chubb needs more touches after scoring on TD runs of 63 and 41 yards. “I watched those two touchdowns on tape today, and they were even better than they were on the field,” he said. … CB Terrance Mitchell underwent surgery on his broken right wrist and will be sidelined indefinitely. Jackson is optimistic Mitchell will return at some point this season. … Jackson said he never considered trying to going for it on fourth down after Hyde’s run was overturned. “It did not enter my mind,” he said. … Despite Mayfield’s four turnovers, Jackson liked how his rookie QB played. “I did not see any blink in Baker on any of those things,” Jackson said. “That is what was very pleasing to me. I get a chance to look in his eyes, and he did not flinch. Matter of fact, he was like, ‘Come on guys, let’s go.'” CLEVELAND (AP) — Just as in the NFL draft, Sam Darnold finished behind Baker Mayfield.Darnold lost an unexpected duel with Mayfield on Thursday night as Cleveland’s rookie quarterback came off the bench and rallied the Cleveland Browns to a 21-17 win over the New York Jets for their first win in 20 games. The top story line heading into the game was Darnold getting a chance to showcase his skills for the Browns (1-1-1) in person and maybe make them regret not selecting him with the No. 1 overall pick in April. However Britton Colquitt Jersey , when it ended, all eyes were on Mayfield as the Heisman Trophy winner led the Browns from a 14-point deficit and ended the league’s second-longest winless streak since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.Darnold and Mayfield spoke on the field inside FirstEnergy Stadium before the game, and the young QBs met for a moment afterward.Following a conservative game plan laid out by New York’s coaching staff, Darnold completed 15 of 31 passes for 169 yards but threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter as he tried to bring the Jets (1-2) back.“I felt really comfortable throughout the whole game,” Darnold said. “I just made stupid mistakes in the fourth quarter and some missed opportunities throughout the whole game. I just have to play better and that’s one me.”Isaiah Crowell had two rushing touchdowns for New York, but the former Browns running back angered some of his former teammates with an inappropriate celebration following his second score.Crowell squatted and wiped the ball on his backside before firing it into the stands, drawing a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.“That was inexcusable,” Jets coach Todd Bowles said. “We addressed it and it will never happen again.”Crowell regretted his actions.“It was just spur of the moment, but I need to control myself,” said Crowell, who spent four seasons with Cleveland before signing a three-year, $12 million free agent contract with the Jets in March. “I don’t think it had to do with the stadium I was at. I just felt like it was spur of the moment.”Darnold’s career has already had some highs and lows. He threw two touchdown passes in a 31-point win over Detroit in his debut, and then became the youngest player to throw for at least 300 yards in a loss last week at Miami. He was inconsistent against the Browns Tyrod Taylor Jersey , showing some poise but also rushing some passes.“I thought he battled,” Bowles said. “Obviously, the two interceptions at the end of the ballgame when they knew we were going to pass and the game was on the line — I don’t really look at that. I thought he battled. I thought he took care of the football for the most part. He gave us a chance and we have to help him out more.”Darnold was much tougher on himself.“There were a couple plays, but for me I just have to play better. It’s as simple as that. It’s not acceptable the way I played. I know that, and I have to take it like a man. I feel like I’m responsible for the stagnant offense we had. I just have to play better, that’s it. Find completions and continue to do what I’m doing.”Darnold may get another chance to play Mayfield and hopes they can develop a rivalry as pros.“Hopefully,” he said. “Baker is a great competitor. I loved playing against him. Obviously, you wish you could win those games, but he’s a great competitor and is going to play in this league for a while. I’m looking forward to every single week.”

    Blake Martinez Color Rush Jersey

GREEN BAY Blake Martinez Color Rush Jersey , Wis. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers‘ last trip to Minnesota altered the course of a promising season for the Green Bay Packers. He broke his right collarbone in Week 6 in 2017 on a hit out of the pocket by Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. After a 4-1 start, the Packers stumbled the rest of the way and missed the playoffs.Maybe things will change for the better this time for the Packers when Rodgers returns to U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, his first road game against the Vikings since the collarbone injury. At 4-5-1, the Packers desperately need a win to keep their postseason hopes alive.“Yeah, obviously I think about that day, it was a tough day, especially going out there early in the game and the way we were rolling on offense and as a team through the first five games,” Rodgers said after practice Wednesday. “But I feel good. My body feels good.”Different season, different injury.Rodgers is getting better after hurting his left knee in the season opener this year against Chicago. In his first game after that injury in Week 2, the Packers and Vikings tied at 29 .There have been challenging times since then for Green Bay. Rodgers’ mobility was initially limited after the injury , but that has improved.“I’m able to move around the way I want to move around. It’s been a frustrating season at times injury-wise,” Rodgers said. “But you don’t think about getting hurt. You just think about playing and trying to avoid some of those hits outside the pocket.”The Packers are winless in five road games this season. Part of the problem is they haven’t been consistent in third-down situations. (19th in NFL). Now they face the league’s best defense on third down.“We want to win games and we’ve won a lot around here. We’ve got to find a way to get back on track,” receiver Randall Cobb said this week. Not having Cobb in the lineup of late because of a hamstring injury has taken away a trusted option. Cobb might be closer to returning after being limited in practice on Wednesday.“Well it hurts Randall not playing,” Rodgers said. “His ability in the slot is why he’s stuck around the league for so long, and will long after this year.”Tight end Jimmy Graham broke a thumb during the first half of last week’s loss at Seattle, though coach Mike McCarthy has said that Graham intends to try to play through the injury. Receiver Geronimo Allison is also on injured reserve with a groin issue. That’s three of Rodgers’ top targets hurt, meaning the Packers have had to rely on rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown more in the passing game.Jake Kumerow, a star in training camp who showed chemistry with Rodgers before the receiver landed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, returned to practice Wednesday. He could be a step closer to being activated.“He’s a talented guy and I think most of us were wondering if he was going to be back on the field this year,” Rodgers said.INJURY REPORTS Kentrell Brice (ankle) was a limited participant. Among those missing practice were CB Bashaud Breeland (groin) Aaron Jones Jersey , S Raven Greene (ankle), CB Kevin King (hamstring) and LB Nick Perry (knee). Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy finally unleashed running back Aaron Jones.Sort of.Jones, whose nebulous role in the Packers’ running back committee has been the subject of consistent consternation this season, had a season-high 12 carries Sunday in Green Bay’s 29-27 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The second-year back was on the field for 62 percent of the offense’s snaps, his largest share since Week 7 of last season.Jones delivered, racking up a season-high 86 rushing yards and a touchdown while averaging a season-high 7.17 yards per carry.Backfield-mate Jamaal Williams played 25 percent of the snaps and had just four carries for nine yards and a touchdown.Ty Montgomery, whose kick return gaffe derailed the Packers’ comeback attempt, was on the field for just 12 percent of the snaps, and had two carries for six yards.Other notes from Sunday’s snap counts:— Rookie receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling retained a major role in the offense despite the return of Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison, out-snapping both.— Meanwhile Kenny Clark Color Rush Jersey , Equanimeous St. Brown, who was on the field for 95 percent and 93 percent of the snaps against the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers, played just 12 percent.— Cornerback Jaire Alexander played on all 78 of the defense’s snaps, a first for the rookie, who had missed the previous two games with a groin injury.— Cornerback Bashaud Breeland, signed after the Packers placed Davon House on injury reserve in September, didn’t carry an injury designation, but was a healthy scratch.OFFENSEPLAYERPlays (52)%Bulaga52100%Bakhtiari52100%Bell52100%Taylor52100%Linsley52100%Rodgers52100%Graham4688%D. Eugene Daniel. Ray Buchanan. Vontae Davis.Even the Super Bowl winning starting tandem of Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden quickly comes to mind. However, one to four, the Colts current cornerback core of Pierre Desir, Kenny Moore, Quincy Wilson, and recently added rookie 2nd round pick Rock Ya-Sin is the most talented the franchise has ever had. Sure, there will be growing pains, as it’s very much a ‘green’ group—who are all for the most part, still learning the position. One which is among the toughest positions in the league to play. Aside from the lone ‘veteran’ of the group, Desir (28), the rest of the Colts cornerback quartet is 23 (Moore), 23 (Ya-Sin), and 22 (Wilson) respectively. Of course, their immense talent and potential still has to translate to actual on-the-field production next season too. However, on paper, the quartet’s collective talent and natural ability is undeniable:Troy Taormina-USA TODAY SportsPierre DesirAs a former 2014 4th round pick of the Cleveland Browns, Desir bounced from the San Diego Chargers to the Seattle Seahawks organizations before finally finding a long-term home in Indianapolis. He was recently rewarded for his exceptional play in 2018 by receiving a new 3-year, $25 million deal ($12 million guaranteed) from Indianapolis earlier this offseason. starter for Indianapolis’ defense, even if he’s utilized more as their 3rd or 4th cornerback next season. INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts made a firm commitment to Matt Eberflus in January. They stuck to it after the man who initially hired Eberflus to be Indy’s defensive coordinator Ryan Grant Color Rush Jersey , Josh McDaniels, reneged on a deal to become the next coach, and they lived up to their promise after eventually hiring Frank Reich in February. It’s worked out well for the Colts.“He’s a consistent guy, he’s got a consistent message every day and he believes in the system,” middle linebacker Anthony Walker said Tuesday. “That’s what you want as a player, a guy who believes in the system.”The system looks awfully familiar to longtime Colts fans.Eberflus reinstalled the Tampa 2 defense, the zone concept popularized by Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy. General manager Chris Ballard saw it work in Chicago under Lovie Smith, one of Dungy’s former pupils, and Reich worked with it on Dungy’s staff when he first started coaching in 2006. Indy capped that season by winning the Super Bowl. The low-key personalities and focused approaches also proved a perfect match. But the real investment came in free agency and the draft. While Colts fans waited impatiently for Ballard to make a splashy move, he mostly avoided the high-priced free agents and instead went with less-familiar names who could excel in Eberflus’ system. The results have been remarkable.Linebacker Darius Leonard, a second-round pick, has a league-high 104 tackles and Walker has 67 tackles, nearly four times as many as he had in 2017.Defensive end Kemoko Turay has shown flashes of being a disruptive pass rusher and Tyquan Lewis showed promise in his first two games after missing the first eight with an injured toe. Both were second-round draft picks in April.“We’re getting to the ball, causing turnovers,” Leonard said. “We don’t do a lot, there’s not a lot of thinking, so it’s very easy for me to go out and play.”Not just for the young guys, either.Jabaal Sheard moved from outside linebacker to defensive end and already has matched his sacks total (5½) from last season. Veteran defensive lineman Margus Hunt has gone from rotation player to starter and has had a career-best season.Safeties Clayton Geathers and Malik Hooker have been rounding into form after missing most of last season and part of this season with injuries, and outsiders have noticed a difference.“They hustle. They have great team effort. They have very good team speed. They stunt the front and they are all very good hitters ,” Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden said recently. “They seem to really like each other. They seem to have a really good, I think, overall down-to-down competitive nature about them.”The individual numbers tell only part of the story. After finishing 30th in the league in yards allowed per game in 2016 and 2017 and 26th or worse in four of Chuck Pagano’s six seasons as head coach, Indy has jumped to No. 20 this season. Through 10 games, they have 26 sacks and are on pace for their highest total since 2013.The Colts’ last four opponents have averaged only 17.5 points per game, and only four teams have more takeaways than Indy (19).Not surprisingly, the Colts (5-5) have won all four, moving back into the playoff picture largely because of a defensive resurgence few expected in Eberflus’ first season.“I think you have to go through this process. Sometimes you take a couple steps forward and one step back or three or four steps forward and one or two back,” Eberflus said. “But it’s really about the guys buying into it.”It could be just the start. The young Colts are still getting acclimated to Eberflus and his scheme, are still learning how to play consistently well and still must demonstrate they can withstand the late-season rigors to make a playoff run.But for the first time in a long time, the Indy defense no longer looks like the weak link. Instead, Eberflus has demonstrated just how promising the future could be.“I think guys are buying into the style slowly, but it’s not consistent yet,” Eberflus said. “Today in the film room we pointed out all the loafs and all the missed assignments, so we can definitely get better week to week, and now it’s about being consistent week to week.”NOTES: With the likelihood of starting center Ryan Kelly out with an injured left knee, the Colts signed center Josh Andrews off the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. … Indy also put cornerback D.J. Killings on injured reserve and waived cornerback Arthur Maulet.100View Gallery Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta

    Tyler Lockett Color Rush Jersey

There has been a lot of talk Tyler Lockett Color Rush Jersey , from national media pundits, on social media and even among fans of the Seattle Seahawks regarding what the team’s corps of receivers will look like in 2019...." The OffseasonWhat should Seahawks fans expect from the young receiving corps?New,36commentsPDTThere has been a lot of talk, from national media pundits, on social media and even among fans of the Seattle Seahawks regarding what the team’s corps of receivers will look like in 2019. Obviously, the loss of Doug Baldwin is a significant factor in these matters, and on top of that is the fact that behind Tyler Lockett and Jaron Brown there is very little experience in the receivers room. Specifically, it appears that many fans feel they may have seen enough of David Moore, and are ready to move on to see which of the three receivers the Hawks drafted in April can come in a make a splash. However, before handing the starting job to one of the new guys, whether that be DK Metcalf, Gary Jennings or John Ursua, let’s take a look at how good Moore’s development has been in the context of having been a seventh round pick. In the years since the NFL lockout in 2011, and the subsequent adoption of the current CBA which reduced the amount of time players could spend with coaches, receiver development has been an area of concern. This is nothing new, as for decades many coaches, such as Mike Holmgren, have lamented that it can take two or three seasons for a receiver to learn the nuances of the position in the NFL. Moore isno exception to that, which is part of what makes his 2018 season so spectacular. Since the adoption of the current practice time restraints in that 2011 CBA, there have been 46 receivers who have been drafted in the seventh round. Obviously Frank Clark Color Rush Jersey , the four wideouts taken in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft have yet to have a chance to make an impact on the field, so we’ll only look at the 42 who were selected from 2011 to 2018. Of those 42 receivers, six were chosen in 2018, so we only have a single season of data on them, but that gives us 78 player seasons of data for the first two years of a player’s career for seventh round receivers drafted under the current CBA. Here’s where Moore’s 2018 performance ranks among those 78 seasons in a variety of different categories: Receiving yards, single season: 455 in 2018, third best of 78 in sampleReceptions, single season: 26 in 2018, third best of 78 in sampleTouchdown receptions, single season: 5 in 2018, best of 78 in sample (second best performance in this category is two). The obvious rebuttal from fans is that while Moore’s second season ranked highly in the sample for the categories mentioned, he did absolutely nothing as a receiver in his first season. Thus, the question becomes where does he rank when his two seasons are combined? The results are somewhat amazing given that, as noted, he had absolutely no production in his first year, but here they are: Receiving yards, first and second season combined: 455, third best of 36 in sampleReceptions, first and second season combined: 26, fourth best of 36 in sampleTouchdown receptions Dion Jordan Color Rush Jersey , first and second season combined: 5, best of 36 in sampleIn short, Moore’s first two seasons have far outperformed the expectations for seventh round receivers, but what happens if we expand the sample to include other rounds? How do Day 3 receivers in general perform? Expanding the sample to look at all Day 3 receivers, we find that between 2011 and 2018 there were 157 receivers drafted by NFL teams, with 24 of those drafted in 2018. That means we have 290 player seasons of data from their first and second years, and we have 133 players that have seen two years pass since being drafted whose performance we can compare to that of Moore. Where does Moore’s 2018 season rank compared to any single season of the other 156 receivers? Receiving yards, single season: 455 in 2018, 26th best of 290 in sampleReceptions, single season: 26 in 2018, tied for 33rd best of 290 in sampleTouchdown receptions, single season: 5 in 2018, tied for 10th best of 290 in sampleWhat happens when we combine the seasons and remove the 2018 draft class for which there is only a single season of data? Receiving yards, first and second season combined: 455, 22nd out of 133 in sampleReceptions, first and second season combined: 26, 30th out of 133 in sampleTouchdown receptions, first and second season combined: 5, tied for 12th of 133 in sampleBasically, Moore has not only been exceptional for a seventh round draft choice Tedric Thompson Color Rush Jersey , he’s outperformed expectations for any receiver chosen on Day 3 of the draft through his first two seasons. That’s no promise that his development will continue at the same rate of improvement, but it shows how difficult it is for receivers to develop into contributing members of the team no matter where they’re drafted on Day 3. So, the issue then becomes what the team can expect of Ursua and Jennings as rookie receivers selected on the final day of the draft. Obviously, expectations should be low, but with the amount of turnover at the receiver position for the Hawks, there should be an opportunity for them to perform, especially on the outside. There’s been plenty of discussion among fans about which receiver will take over in the slot for Baldwin, and to me the most logical conclusion is Lockett. The thing about the offense the Seahawks run is that the outside receivers have fairly simple duties, as a very large percentage of the routes they to run are either go routes or curl routes. Those routes are far easier to run than other, more complicated routes, and makes the outside receiver position a fantastic place for a developing rookie to learn. Metcalf, Jennings and Ursua should be able to step in as rookies and contribute on the outside, with Lockett moving inside to the slot and dominating. The reason to expect success from Lockettinside is that over the final five weeks of the 2018 season he lined up in the slot about equally as often as he lined up on the outside, however, his production from the slot disproportionately outpaced his production when he lined up outside. Small sample caveats and all that, but during that five game stretch Russell Wilson posted a passer rating of just 112.5 when targeting Lockett from the outside, but a perfect 158.3 when Lockett was targeted from the slot. Yes, it’s a small sample, but in the offense the Hawks run, slot receivers have a significant advantage over outside receivers Ethan Pocic Color Rush Jersey , particularly when the defense aligns in order to take away the deep outside routes. In summary, expect Lockett to slide inside to the slot and have a fantastic 2019 season, while Metcalf and Jennings fight with Moore for the jobs on the outside. There, their size and speed will allow them to fulfill the basics of those roles while learning the intricacies of playing receiver in the NFL and giving them time to develop into the weapons their athleticism gives them to potential to become. RENTON, Wash. (AP)Duane Brown’s future a year ago at training camp was filled with uncertainty during a holdout. Ever since his trade to Seattle in the middle of last season, he’s been ”at peace” with whatever was going to take place.”Last year at this time I was very anxious and uncertain,” Brown said Sunday, a day after signing a three-year contract extension with the Seahawks. ”This whole year I’ve been at peace. I wasn’t worried about anything when I showed up for workouts or OTAs. I wasn’t worried about what was going on behind the scenes and just controlling what I could control.”The extension means the big left tackle will likely be protecting Russell Wilson’s blindside for the rest of Brown’s career. He’ll turn 33 next month and has spoken repeatedly of wanting Seattle to be the final stop of his career.Brown’s current deal was set to expire after this season, part of the reason he was a holdout from the Houston Texans until Week 8 of last season before being traded to Seattle. Brown said it became clear soon after arriving in Seattle the intensions were to make sure this was his last stop. Those indications were part of why Brown was committed to being part of Seattle’s offseason program.”They communicated that early on and there was no doubt in any of our minds that we would get it done,” Brown said. ”I wanted to show my commitment to the team and our future by being here. Coming here halfway through the season you want to be here during the offseason, for me, to learn the team more, to have my impact in the locker room, my leadership skills and it was great to do that.”Brown was the first to get an extension among a number of key contributors whose contracts expire after the 2018 season. That group includes linebacker K.J. Wright, defensive end Frank Clark and, most notably, holdout safety Earl Thomas. There have been no signs of a softening between Thomas and the Seahawks as the former All-Pro has sought either a new deal in Seattle or a trade from the Seahawks.NOTES: Seattle signed WR Marvin Bracy on Sunday. Bracy represented the United States in the 100 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics and is a three-time U.S. indoor champion in the 60 meters. Bracy returned to football last year signing with Indianapolis during training camp but was released before the season.—
  9. Jr. from Browns offseason workouts Jamie Collins Jersey , little attention has been paid to the absence of receiver Jarvis Landry.Details have been scarce regarding Landry’s status. Apparently, he has an injury. With no obligation to disclose information regarding injuries in the offseason, the Browns haven’t said much about Landry’s specific status. On Thursday, coach Freddie Kitchens made it clear that Landry isn’t likely to participate in the team’s upcoming mandatory minicamp.“I do not know that right now,” Kitchens initially said regarding the possibility of Landry taking part. “Probably not.”Asked whether Landry has had any type of medical procedure, Kitchens said, “No Christian Kirksey Color Rush Jersey , it is just more precautionary than anything.”Landry appeared at the opening of Cleveland’s offseason program, at a press conference with quarterback Baker Mayfield and Beckham, a close friend and college teammate of Landry’s. Beckham has been back for only one day since then; Landry quite possibly hasn’t been back at all. Tyrod Taylor has started 46 career games, all in the past four years. But Chargers starting quarterback Philip Rivers has the longest active streak of consecutive starts for a quarterback at 208, tying him for third in NFL history with Peyton Manning. So barring the unexpected, Taylor will not start a game this season.Taylor, though , is approaching this season like he would any other season. He is busy learning the offense after signing with the Chargers as a free agent. “He brings a ton of knowledge to the game,” Taylor said of Rivers, via Chris Hayre of the team website. “He’s played at a very high level basically his entire career. So I’m still learning from him each and every day in the classroom and little things on the field as well.”The additions of Taylor in free agency and Easton Stick in the draft have changed the Chargers’ quarterbacks room. They join Rivers and fourth-year veteran Cardale Jones.“It definitely takes me, Philip – all the veteran guys – to shed any type of light that we have or any type [of experience we’ve had] to the younger players to get us to where we ultimately want to go, which is to win a Super Bowl,” Taylor said.

    Green Bay Packers T-Shirts

GREEN BAY Green Bay Packers T-Shirts , Wis. (AP) — Whether it was running through safety Darryl Roberts to start the game or breaking Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams‘ tackle attempt to score a touchdown, Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams had the best game of his career in Sunday’s victory at the Jets.Williams carried 15 times for 95 yards and one touchdown, added six receptions for 61 yards. In total, Williams accumulated a career-best 156 yards from scrimmage to help Green Bay earn its first road win of the season, 44-38 in overtime.“I’m just grateful. Grateful,” he said after the game. “I just feel like my hard work and everything is paying off. Just coming out in the game showing the results of all my hard work and everything I’ve been going through. I want to come out here to show my team that I’m ready and working hard every time: the week practices, everything, walk-throughs, doing whatever I can to make sure I’m ready for them in this game.”If that hard work continues to pay off, the Packers might have a good problem next year at running back. Williams, a fourth-round pick last year, opened the season as the team’s No. 1 back, only to be supplanted at midseason by Aaron Jones, a fifth-round pick in 2017. Jones led the NFL in yards per carry before suffering a knee injury in the first quarter last week at Chicago that ended his season. With no other proven options on the roster, Williams played 86 of 91 offensive snaps against the Jets. He responded with the most explosive game of his career. In the first 14 games of this season, Williams didn’t have a single run of 12-plus yards. Jones, meanwhile , had 15 carries of 12-plus yards despite serving a two-game suspension to start the season. In the last two games, however, Williams has four such carries, including runs of 13, 15 and 19 yards against the Jets.“I like both of those players,” interim coach Joe Philbin said on Monday. “I like the way they practice, I like the way they prepare. I think they’re good teammates. I think they’re good in the locker room and they have a good skill set. They can run (and) they can catch the ball.”While Jones is one of the more explosive runners in the league, Williams brings the well-rounded skills. The Jets blitzed relentlessly on Sunday but, other than giving up one sack, Williams was sturdy in providing time to help Aaron Rodgers throw for 442 yards.“There’s a couple where there’s a bunch of green grass,” Philbin said. “They ran some twists and brought guys the other way, they’re coming up the A-gap, and he’s got a lot of space to defend just by the nature of the protection. I thought overall he did a good job there. I like the fact he’s got versatility. You don’t have to take him out of the game if you want to do something specific. He had a nice game.”The Packers will close the season at home against Detroit on Sunday. With undrafted rookie Lavon Coleman, promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, and Kapri Bibbs, added off waivers last week, being the other options on the roster Green Bay Packers Hoodie , expect Williams to be heavily involved in the game plan again.“Same mindset I have all the time, no matter if I’m starting or not starting,” he said. “I’m just going in there doing my job, working hard … trying to punish defenders and see what they about and just give my team juice, just let them know I’m here to help. Block, run, do whatever I can for us to get a ‘W.'”NOTES: The players will be off for Christmas while the coaches were to be off Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning before convening around noon Tuesday to work on the game plan for Detroit. . Why are the Packers playing to win these games at the risk of injuries to key players or worsening their draft positioning? “These are football players. That’s what they’re paid to do,” Philbin said. “They’re paid to represent this great organization and play as well as they possibly can every time they get an opportunity. We understand injuries can happen at any point in time. That’s football. It can happen at any point. I think when you start distinguishing all those different things, I think you lose sight of the real fabric and the heart and soul of what a football team is.” . After a rocky season, Rodgers accounted for 474 total yards and four touchdowns vs. the Jets. “It was a special performance by him, without a doubt,” Philbin said. “Certainly, he helped us score 44 points. There’s no doubt about it, without him we probably wouldn’t have scored 44 points.” Two young defensive backs and a rookie linebacker headline the list of strong performers for the Packers’ 2019 preseason opener." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesAcme Packing Company homepageHorizontal - WhiteAcme Packing Companya Green Bay Packers communityFollow Acme Packing Company online:Follow Acme Packing Company on TwitterFollow Acme Packing Company on FacebookFollow Acme Packing Company on InstagramLog in or sign upLog InSign UpSite searchSearchSearchAcme Packing Company main menuFanpostsFanshotsSectionsPackersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 321 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdviceCDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Packers stock watch: Ty Summers, defensive backs have big evening against TexansTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Dylan Buell/Getty ImagesIn the vast majority of cases, one preseason game will not make or break a player’s chances for a contributing role or a spot on the season-opening roster. However, their performances make up part of the larger picture Elgton Jenkins Jersey , something the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff will consider as the preseason progresses. After the Packers’ 28-26 exhibition victory over the Houston Texans, several young members of the defense stood out for their big plays while a second-year receiver continues to struggle with drops.Stock upRaven GreeneAfter spending 2018 primarily as a special-teams contributor, Greene returned to the Packers with added muscle and an eye on the hybrid safety-linebacker role that once seemed destined for Josh Jones. Greene had a strong camp by most accounts and followed up on that performance with a nice showing in Green Bay’s preseason opener. Greene’s biggest play came near the end of the first quarter. After Texans running back Taiwan Jones broke through the Packers’ defensive front for first-down yardage, Greene came down from the defensive backfield and punched out the football. Teammate Will Redmond recovered the ball, preventing Houston from putting points on the board in scoring position.Ka’Dar HollmanThough Ka’Dar Hollman arrived in Green Bay with little fanfare, the 2019 sixth-round pick has managed to earn playing time with the No. 1 defense. With Jaire Alexander, Tramon Williams, Kevin King, and Josh Jackson all out for Thursday’s preseason game, Hollman saw plenty of action during the first half.Hollman made the most of his run. On the Texans’ opening possession, he undercut a route to intercept a pass from Joe Webb, forcing the first turnover of the game. Hollman also played tight coverage throughout his time on the field, batting away a pass and keeping his receivers largely under wraps.Ty SummersNo player seemed to do more Thursday night than rookie linebacker Ty Summers. The 2019 seventh-round pick led all players on either team with 10 tackles, nine of them solo. That figure doesn’t include stops Summers made on special teams where seems ready to handle a major role.Because Summers played virtually the entire game, he made his share of mistakes as well. Summers whiffed on multiple tackle opportunities on defense and special teams, including a critical mistake that allowed Webb to turn a third-and-forever into a first-down scramble. Still, given how much positive play Summers put on tape , Thursday represents a net positive.Honorable mentionsTim Boyle - Whereas DeShone Kizer’s stat line from Thursday night hides his tentativeness as a passer, Tim Boyle displayed pose and decisiveness in his reads during the preseason opener. Boyle put his arm on display, finding wideout Allen Lazard on an impressive 27-yard throw into the end zone.Jake Kumerow - Early in the game when the offense struggled to find its footing, Jake Kumerow bailed out his team twice with big third-down conversions. Kumerow has built well on last year’s hype and might earn more than just a roster spot should that trend continue.Darrius Shepherd - The first touchdown of the Matt LaFleur era resulted from a mesh play with rookie Darrius Shepherd making a difficult in-air adjustment to haul in a Kizer pass. Shepherd has gone from a tryout player to a contender for a roster or practice-squad spot in a short period of time.Stock downOren BurksSecond-year linebacker Oren Burks didn’t make any critical mistakes against the Texans. However, he did hurt his shoulder, an injury bad enough to force him out of the game. Given that Burks missed time during the preseason last year with a shoulder injury and never quite found his footing upon his return, another shoulder issue should concern him and the Packers.J’Mon MooreJ’Mon Moore’s talent remains undeniable, but he can’t seem to put it together long enough to leave a positive impression. During Thursday’s exhibition, Moore slipped on routes and dropped multiple passes, including a would-be touchdown. The second-year wideout did manage to haul in a score later that drive, but even in that instance he had to double catch the ball.Moore’s confidence and concentration seems to wane after he makes an early mistake, and that has to concern the Packers given the wideout depth on display since the start of training camp. Moore still has plenty of time to change the narrative, but he faces an uphill battle for a roster spot now.The foghornIf the Packers want to pump up fans, they should probably find something more energizing than a foghorn.

Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsEarlier this afternoon we began to hear rumblings of safety Clayton Geathers and the Indianapolis Colts working on a deal to keep him in a horseshoe. The team confirmed as much soon after that they had indeed agreed to a contract with the 2015 fourth round selection. This is good news for a few reasons. First and foremost, Geathers wanted to be here. He’s also bringing familiarity to the backend of a much improved Colts’ defense, and the oft-injured safety looks to be coming back on a low-risk deal. The Colts look to have passed on the big name free agents who were available, and have decided to “push” on making wholesale changes for at least another year to the secondary. Geathers has averaged just over 10 games per season since being drafted, and has yet to truly become a playmaker in the minds of many. The Colts hope to see his very best yet in the 2019 season. Frank Reich had the Indianapolis Colts ready to play at home against divisional opponent Tennessee. They controlled the pace of the game and won on both sides of the football, and threw crippling blows in the first half. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter, with the game well in hand, that Indianapolis took its foot off of the gas.Luck entered the half 12 of 17 for 195 yards and a touchdown. The running backs combined for 51 yards on 11 carries T.J. Green Color Rush Jersey , good for 4.5 yards per carry, and two touchdowns. These are strong performances in both offensive phases against a defense that was ranked sixth overall heading into the game. The Titans defense came into the game averaging 328 yards allowed and entered half time after giving up 246. They entered the game as the top scoring defense in the league, allowing less than 17 points per game. They went into the half down 24-3.A week ago, the Colts were unable to keep momentum heading into the second half. They nearly allowed Jacksonville to mount a successful comeback. A week ago, the Titans shocked the NFL by soundly beating the New England Patriots. Not the case this week. For either team.In the second half, Andrew Luck was 11 of 12 for 102 yards and two touchdowns. This was good for a game total of 23 of 29 for 297 yards and three touchdowns. This is a 79% completion percentage and good for a QB Rating of 143.8. T.Y. Hilton abused Adoree’ Jackson, hauling in 9 passes on 9 targets for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Colts defense? My goodness, they played as fast as I can recall seeing them play. Matt Eberflus mixed things up all game. The defensive line generated pressure on its own, and well-timed and well-designed blitzes created pressure on Mariota throughout the first half. Tennessee went into the locker room having allowed four sacks, having thrown an interception , and having fumbled the ball (although they recovered it). Oh yeah, Mariota suffered an injury on the final sack of the first half and would not return to the game.I’m not sure I’ve seen an opponent enter the locker room at half time so dejected and defeated. There would be no second half comeback on Sunday as the Colts finished the Titans off 38 - 10.Let’s revisit the keys to the game.CATCH THE DAMN BALLNyheim Hines continues to have issues catching the ball when he is running away from Luck in the backfield. He is lucky his first drop wasn’t a fumble on a backward pass. He only caught 1 of his 3 targets for 20 yards. Marlon Mack also missed a pass his way and Indianapolis will need the rookies to clean this up to be effective moving forward in the season. The backfield is a big part of Frank Reich’s offensive scheme and having hands is a must.RE-ESTABLISH BALANCEThe Colts accomplished this goal. 25 rushing attempts versus 32 passing attempts, for 105 rushing yards and a 4.2 yards per carry average — excluding three kneel downs to close the game. Marlon Mack and Jordan Wilkins both scored rushing touchdowns. The offensive line re-established dominance in the trenches against a formidable defensive front.CONTAIN MARIOTAMy word, did the Colts contain Marcus Mariota. He only ran four times for 17 yards, unless you include a couple of sacks where he was attempting to scramble and couldn’t make it back to the line of scrimmage. The times he did run with the ball left him quickly sliding to avoid hard contact.FIND SOMEONE TO COVER DEEPFrankly, deep passing never became much of an issue. Quincy Wilson picked off Mariota on an under thrown pass when he attempted to test the Colts secondary. There was enough push by the Colts front four on most plays and enough sacks to land that Indianapolis was able to make it through the game without missing Malik Hooker. They will need him to get healthy if they hope to repeat these results to close out the season.PASS RUSH NEEDS TO TURN UP THE HEATEberflus put together a masterful defensive game plan that led to pressure all over for Mariota and Blaine Gabbert. His unit generated 5 sacks, 7 hits and 8 tackles for a loss. Sacks came from all over too, with 1.5 credited to Jabaal Sheard, 1 to Darius Leonard (who also forced a fumble), 1 to Denico Autry Christine Michael Sr Jersey , 1 to Kemoko Turay, and a .5 sack to Kenny Moore II. This pressure certainly played a role in allowing Quincy Wilson to snag an errant throw from Mariota and helped Darius Leonard pick off Blaine Gabbert, as he desperately tried to get rid of the ball in a collapsing pocket. This is the way a Tampa 2 defense is supposed to work. For those keeping track, while Tyquan Lewis was not credited with a sack, he did have a tackle for a loss and was a part of creating pressure on the inside. When the Colts started the season with a philosophy of throwing the defensive line at opponents in waves, there were some questions about what those waves would look like. That picture is starting to clear up.

    Jaron Brown Color Rush Jersey

RENTON Jaron Brown Color Rush Jersey , Wash. (AP) — Pete Carroll has a firm belief that the protection the Seattle Seahawks offensive line is providing Russell Wilson has improved from where it was in recent years. The statistics tell a far different story. No team in the NFL has seen its quarterback sacked more often through the first two weeks of the season than the Seahawks. It’s been a disastrous mix of mistakes by the offensive line, Wilson holding the ball too long at times, and facing a pair of elite pass rushers that has led to the quarterback being sacked 12 times already.Since the sack became an official statistic in 1982, there have been 26 instances of a team allowing 12 or more sacks in the first two weeks of the regular season. But only three of those — Jacksonville in 2014, Houston in 2017 and Seattle this year— have come in the past 10 seasons. Jacksonville and Houston each allowed 13 sacks in the first two weeks, both on their way to terrible seasons. The Jaguars went 3-13; the Texans 4-12. But neither of them had an established, top-tier quarterback like Wilson calling the shots. All of which puts the Seahawks in the kind of company they’d rather not be a part of so early in the season.“We’ve tried to make him more confident in the protection. Even though the sack numbers are there, our protection is more solid than it’s been,” Carroll said. “It was throughout the preseason and Russell is counting on that rhythm to help him. He’s moving in the pocket a little bit because that’s what he’s had a lot of times. But the other part of it, the miscues and all are new. We’re missing this, missing that, and we can fix all of those things.”The competition Seattle has faced didn’t help the situation. The Seahawks opened the year having to deal with Von Miller and Denver’s front, then followed up in Week 2 facing Khalil Mack in his first home game with Chicago. The final result was Wilson getting sacked six times in each game, which compounded other mistakes that have left the Seahawks sitting at 0-2.While coming home this week to face Dallas removes the challenge of playing in a loud environment, others have emerged. Starting center Justin Britt injured his shoulder late in the loss to Chicago while trying to get on a fumble Wilson lost while being sacked.Carroll said Britt was sore and would be day-to-day, but he did not practice Wednesday. Also sitting out practice was left guard Ethan Pocic, who was considered a candidate to potentially replace Britt at center. Pocic has an ankle injury. If Britt can’t play and Pocic is an unknown, Seattle may plug in backup Joey Hunt at center and shift guard J.R. Sweezy. D.J. Fluker, who started at right guard before suffering a hamstring injury in the preseason, is expected to return this week after missing the first two games.“We have to be better. The numbers aren’t solely on the offensive line but as a lineman you never want to see your quarterback on the ground,” left tackle Duane Brown said. “We have to do everything we can to correct it. We have to win our individual battles, communicate protections better Tre Flowers Color Rush Jersey , picking up blitzes better. We’ll get there quick.”The Cowboys are second in the NFL with nine sacks through two games and last season sacked Wilson three times and limited the Seahawks to 136 total yards. But Dallas still watched Seattle come away with a 21-12 win.“Lot of movement up front, line stunts, things like that. They don’t like to sit still. They like to move around and throw your scheme off,” Brown said.NOTES: Carroll said the team received indications from the league that LB Mychal Kendricks will be able to play this week. Kendricks, who pleaded guilty to federal insider trading charges, made his debut with the Seahawks on Monday and had three tackles, including a sack, against Chicago. … LB Bobby Wagner (groin) and CB Tre Flowers (hamstring) were full participants in practice Wednesday and are expected to play Sunday after missing the loss to Chicago. The competitive balance in NFL 2018 is such that it would be no surprise if any — or all — of the visitors win on wild-card weekend to begin the 2019 calendar. Hey, the largest spread is a mere 6 1-2 points, Bears over Eagles.Maybe the most intriguing matchup is at Jerry World, which makes sense because the NFL scheduled Seahawks vs. Cowboys for Saturday night. Some cool stuff about this game between a pair of 10-6 teams:—Seattle was 0-2 when coach Pete Carroll placed a heavy emphasis on the running game and defense, and the Seahawks defeated Dallas 24-13.—QBs Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott are tied for most 100-plus passer rating games in their first three seasons at 24.—The Seahawks led the league with a plus-15 turnover margin, with 11 giveaways tied for third fewest in league history.—Dallas has won both wild-card games in its 10 seasons at AT&T Stadium, and is 7-1 at home this season.—The other playoff meeting was a 21-20 Seahawks home victoryduring the 2006 season when Tony Romo messed up the hold of a potential go-ahead field goal with 1:19 remaining. This figures to be a game built on rushing. Seattle topped the NFL and has a three-pronged running attack led by Chris Carson. Dallas rides Ezekiel Elliott, who is rested and ready after sitting out last week’s win over the Giants because the result had no bearing on Dallas’ postseason standing.Saturday’s game obviously does, and will be close. Seattle, ranked 10 in the AP Pro32, is a 2 1-2-point underdog at No. 11 Dallas.COWBOYS, 21-20No. 8 Indianapolis (plus 3) at No. 7 HoustonEach team won on the other’s field this season. Both have made turnarounds, Houston from an 0-3 start to the AFC South title, Indy from 1-5 to a wild card. The Colts have won four straight and nine of their last 10 when they couldn’t afford a stumble. The defense forced turnovers in 15 games, finished with 26 takeaways David Moore Color Rush Jersey , and the team allowed 16.4 points over the final eight games. But it’s an offensive line that allowed a league-low 18 sacks on Andrew Luck after giving up a league-high 56 in 2017 that could be the difference. That number will be tested by the likes of J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, and DeAndre Hopkins can be a game-changing receiver.Still …BEST BET and UPSET SPECIAL: COLTS, 24-20No. 5 (tie) Los Angeles Chargers (plus 2 1-2) at No. 9 BaltimoreTwo weeks ago, the Ravens traveled to that soccer stadium in California the Chargers call home and handed them a 22-10 defeat that propelled Baltimore to the top of the AFC North. It also pretty much meant the Chargers would be a wild card behind AFC West champion Kansas City. The Ravens’ top-ranked defense will need to again make Philip Rivers uncomfortable in the passing game, but Rivers didn’t have his No. 1 running threat, Melvin Gordon, for that Dec. 22 contest. Gordon is back, which could be a key.Baltimore is 6-1 since rookie QB Lamar Jackson took over for Joe Flacco. And that defense, which allowed an NFL-low 292.2 yards per game and ranked second in fewest points allowed at 17.9 per contest, will swing this one to …RAVENS, 20-19No. 12 Philadelphia (plus 6 1-2) at No. 3 ChicagoSomehow, despite all the injuries — the secondary, other than safety Malcolm Jenkins, has resembled a preseason group — and some costly blown leads, the defending champion Eagles squeezed into the playoffs. They did so with help from the Bears, too, as Chicago knocked off the Vikings in Minnesota last Sunday. Will the Bears regret that come Sunday evening? Depends on whether Nick Foles has some more magic to work on that stingy and physical Chicago defense. It will be tight, like all the other wild-card games.BEARS, 19-17

  14. How can we be explosive? That’s what the game is about Green Bay Packers Customized Jerseys , man. People like big plays. I like big plays."So how do we figure out how to get big plays? In football trick plays are fun. I mean, what isn’t fun about explosive plays and throwing it down the field and guys making plays?” - Todd MonkenThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers are just a mess of a franchise, saddled with a franchise quarterback who just isn’t very good and a defense that is about as bad as a defense can be. Yet, in 2018, the Bucs were one of the most entertaining teams to watch, largely because of offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Monken, a native of Wheaton, Illinois, was a quarterback for Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he earned an economics degree. Monken left a wake of successful offenses behind in college, leading a high scoring Eastern Michigan team and Green Bay Packers T-Shirts , in his last stop, turning around an atrocious Southern Mississippi squad in just a few years. I first noticed him running the Bucs offense this season, his third in Tampa. Monken runs a big-play, deep passing offense that targets the middle and deep sections of the field, stretches defenses, and makes them defend every inch of territory. Monken trusted his passing game to work despite lackluster quarterbacks in retread Ryan Fitzpatrick and bust Jameis Winston. Fitzpatrick in particular thrived in Monken’ offense, hitting big play after big play to lead one of the league’s best passing offenses and finishing 5th in DVOA.Monken was also involved in one of the strangest incidents of the season, when head coach Dirk Koetter took over play-calling duties for the November 11th game against Washington. Koetter, who was fired after the season, never explained why he did this:“After the game, Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter revealed he took over play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Todd Monken, but he wasn’t forthcoming on why he made the change. 'My own reasons ,' Koetter responded when asked what spurred the change.”Monken’s offenses had scored 48, 27, 27, 10 (Bears), 29, 26, 34, and 28 points. Under Koetter they scored three. The next week, they were back to Monken and back to 35 points against the Giants. The Packers interviewed Monken on January 5th, and it’s easy to see why he would be attractive. He runs a quarterback-friendly offense that focuses on big plays in the intermediate and deep portions of the field. If you are looking for a coach to gel with a surly quarterback who waves off called plays to throw bombs, you could do worse. I’m a tentative fan, and while he’s still a bit green to jump to head coach in the NFL Green Bay Packers Hoodie , going with someone a bit green may not be the worst idea. Monken’s offense is fun and progressive and he was, as far as anyone could tell, the only adult on the Tampa staff. I’m not sure if the Packers will land him, but wherever he goes, I’ll be watching next season. The Senior Bowl is the most prestigious all-star game in college football. Each year, 100-plus players whose college eligibility have expired travel to Mobile, Alabama for a week of practice, interviews, and finally a football game.Three days of practice from Tuesday to Thursday are behind us, as are all of the players’ interviews with scouts, coaches, and other NFL decision-makers. Now it’s just the game Elgton Jenkins Jersey , which is all that most NFL fans get to see. Today’s game pits the North and South teams against one another, with NFL coaching staffs leading the way for both sides.Plenty of star NFL players have made a mark on this game in the past. Recently, Northern Iowa running back David Johnson starred in the 2015 game, leading to his selection by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of that year’s NFL Draft. Less than two years later, he led the entire NFL in scrimmage yards and total touchdowns, dominating the competition in the 2016 season. Will there be a small-school star who makes a statement in today’s game and solidifies himself as a top prospect? Jabaal Sheard Jersey

In March Jabaal Sheard Jersey , Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell will become available to the highest bidder. And he apparently hopes the highest bidder, or close to it, will be the Indianapolis Colts.“He has his eyes on the Colts, no doubt about that,” an unnamed source told Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “He sees [quarterback Andrew] Luck and that offense and all that cap room and they’re much closer than the Jets. He wants to go someplace he can win right away.”Bell hasn’t ruled out signing with the Jets, a team that could be willing to pay much more than the Colts. G.M. Chris Ballard won’t be inclined to overpay in the early days of free agency, and that’s likely what it will take to get Bell. Also, the Colts have Marlon Mack, a much cheaper option who had a career day against the Cowboys. Mack is signed through 2020, at salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the next two years.Of course, Ballard may have only so much influence over the final decision. If owner Jim Irsay decides to make the move, Ballard may have no choice but to make it Pierre Desir Color Rush Jersey , or at least to make a competitive offer. If the Colts do indeed make it — and if Bell takes a little less to play for a better team — the Colts will become a short-list favorite to contend for a Super Bowl berth next season.
