Buccaneers 2017 Routes Snapshot Womens Chris Godwin Jersey , Part 1 Football Outsiders (FBO) recently published some of their results on 2017 wide receiver routes by defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA), which is simply an attempt to value a player on a per-down basis, and is expressed as a percentage above or below average. What FBO has done is take a receiver’s (a few RBs and TEs show up) per-down (DVOA) and total (DYAR - defense-adjusted yards above replacement) value for the twelve most common routes in the NFL: curl, out, dig, slant, drag, go/fly, fade, and seam. In this article we will look at the first six and tackle the last six in Part 2. Because that’s an insane amount of information, FBO only focused on the roughly 20-30 or so receivers that ran these routes the most. From this information, we can see who was good at what route, who was bad, and perhaps even where a team might be using routes they probably shouldn’t as much or routes they could use more. Patterns can also emerge that tell us about the scheme. Because receiver numbers are to a small extent inherently derivative from a quarterback, it also gives us a little bit of a peek into their performance as well. Let’s go down the list:CURLThe curl is a big play in the Buccaneer’s offense. Only one Buc makes the list here though and it’s Mike Evans, who was targeted on the curl route 30 times, the second-most in the NFL. Unfortunately, out of the 21 receivers who caught curls the most, Evans was the third-worst in value. Also, Evans’ 1.2 YAC average was the 3rd worst behind T.Y. Hilton and the ancient Jason Witten. Looking back to 2016, not much has changed. Evans is still the only Buc that shows up, and his YAC and average depth of target is about the same. But, his value on curls was 8th best - it appears his catch percentage fell from 69.2 percent in 2016 to 56.7 percent in 2017. The reason is probably a mix between ball placement and Evans needing to do a better job using his frame to shield defenders from the ball. It’s also important to keep in mind as we go down this list that Evans’ frame prevents him from being as good of a route runner as other players ( and that’s ok). Routes that allow him to use his frame should be his bread and butter.QUICK OUTOf the 26 players who were targeted on quick out routes the most Authentic DeSean Jackson Jersey , none were Buccaneers. The Bucs did not have any players on the 2016 list either.DIGThe dig is a staple of Dirk Koetter’s offense. It is a play that often nets a big reward but can lead to quarterbacks taking more hits as it is a long and slow-developing route, usually paired with a seven step drop or a similarly timed but shortened drop from shotgun. Koetter often runs it iso, meaning it is not packaged with another route to form a concept, like Mills, though he sometimes does that too. When run iso it is just the receiver running a deep dig or crossing route by themselves and up to him to get to his spot on time and the quarterback to beat the coverages of the cornerback and safety with his eye manipulation and throw. Because of this, the dig also comes with one of if not the highest rate of interceptions in the league. Big risk, big reward.Again, Evans is the only Tampa Bay player to make the list, with 14 such passes in 2017. Of the 24 players, Evans ranked 14th in value and had a 53.8 percent catch rate. His average depth of target was 12.9, third highest, but his 0.4 YAC average was easily the worst. Clearly Evans struggles to gain separation, which isn’t all that surprising. And the NFL is a contested catch league, after all. But he could also do a much better job being more physical at the catch point which might allow him to break tackles. Because the Bucs like to run their routes deeper than most teams it’s possible safeties are also often in the area, but that also means Evans is just a broken tackle or two from gaining huge yards with no one else between him and the end zone. It’s one of the few remaining holes in his game.In 2016 Evans had the worst dig value out of all listed receivers, with a 43.5 percent catch rate, 12.5 average target depth, and 1.1 YAC. SLANTThe slant is a play with good value and a pretty good completion rate. Evans is again the only Buccaneer to get enough targets to qualify. His value was below average, but his catch rate and target depth were average. A theme is emerging, as Evans’ YAC was 5th fewest out of the 30 players listed, ahead of players like Zach Ertz, Kelvin Benjamin, and Roger Lewis. However, that’s double his YAC average from 2016 and his value got better too.DRAGThe drag is a shorter another short throw for the quarterback that yields a high completion rate, often used in a Mesh concept that uses a rub to get one of the receivers open for YAC. No Buccaneers show up on this list in 2017 or 2016.GO/FLYTwo Bucs show up - Evans and DeSean Jackson, but unfortunately they are second-to-last and fourth-to-last in value, respectively. They had 21 total targets Womens Vita Vea Jersey , third-most behind just Pittsburgh (Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant) and Detroit (Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay). A 25 percent catch rate is a low-percentage play, among the lowest in the NFL. Jackson’s catch rate was 11.1 percent and Evans’ was even worse 9.1 percent, which, you don’t need me to tell you is awful. Interestingly, Evans’ target depth was 29.1 but Jackson’s was 38.1, tied with Tyreek Hill and second deepest to just Bryant.Obviously, Jameis Winston’s deep accuracy issues are at play here, as are a myriad of other factors. This is a huge discussion and has been a major point of contention among fans, but we’ll just hit the key points. First, in 2017 Winston actually improved his accuracy over his 2016 season pretty much everywhere, and he was the 11th most efficient deep ball thrower in the NFL last season. This is largely because in today’s game anything past 16 air yards can be considered deep, and secondly Winston earns most of his keep from 10 to 25 yards out as he targets that area more often than almost all quarterbacks. However, his accuracy past 35 yards isn’t good (ranked 15th from 30-34, 25th between 35-39, and 26th 40+). If your definition of a deep ball is different then obviously this ranking will change for you. It’s also worth noting completed passes longer than 50 yards are statistically random and can’t be replicated from year to year. Winston’s deep ball mechanics appear to have suffered his pre-draft work with QB guru George Whitfield and haven’t been the same since. Lastly, it has to be noted that Winston suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder in Week 3 of last season vs. the Minnesota Vikings and did not look healthy until the last few weeks of the season. He has improved in every year; did the injury rob us of seeing some of that improvement in his deep ball, or did it just cover up a problem that’s still there? Or make a bad problem look even worse? We will have to wait until Weeks 4 and 5 of this season to find out. In 2016 Evans’ value was better but still below average, and his catch rate was 20 percent, and Jackson’s value was the fourth-best in the NFL. So the bottom line is this: the Bucs have a quarterback who struggles a great deal to hit deep vertical passes, for whatever reason, but is nonetheless operating in an offense that not only attempts these low-percentage passes at a high rate, but also half the time at an extreme depth. What that says is the team is repeatedly expecting their quarterback to do something he cannot do. Something has to change. In Part 2 we will look at how the Bucs did with WR screens, posts, comebacks, broken plays, fades, and seam routes. One Buc Place has a new name Florida Hospital www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com , which will soon be known as AdventHealth, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers unveiled a new name and logo for the NFL team’s training facility and business offices, which will now be named the AdventHealth Training Center. The team’s headquarters includes a new air-conditioned indoor practice facility, three outdoor practice fields, as well as player areas and administrative offices.Florida Hospital and the Buccaneers created their unique partnership six years ago when Florida Hospital became the Exclusive Hospital of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The collaboration has enabled the two organizations to promote key health initiatives in the community and this elevated partnership will give Florida Hospital and the Buccaneers even greater ability to identify and tackle important health issues in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.“We want to make a meaningful difference and lasting impact in the health and wellness of this community and this partnership bolsters the strength and ability we have to do that,” said Mike Schultz, President and CEO, Florida Hospital, the West Florida Division of Adventist Health System. “We are not only investing in the health and well-being of our professional athletes, we are investing in and inspiring the next generation. We believe it’s vital for our young people to have a healthy future.”With the 10-year naming rights deal announced today, Florida Hospital and the Buccaneers also plan to develop a series of educational health and wellness videos pairing Florida Hospital and team experts to address topics such as nutrition and diet, staying hydrated, proper stretching and how to prevent sports injuries. That initiative plays into other existing health and wellness platforms including the Treasure Chests 5K and Fun Run to raise breast cancer awareness, 8 On Your Side Health and Fitness Expo, Bucs Babies, the Back to School Bash which provides free physicals, dental and eye exams, and immunizations to local students, as well as the first ever Faith and Football tournament.“Today’s announcement is yet another example of the strong partnership we have forged with Florida Hospital over the past six years,” said Buccaneers Owner/Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer. “Together, we have enjoyed success on many community initiatives and this heightened level of partnership allows for even greater opportunities as Florida Hospital transitions into AdventHealth. We take pride in having world-class training facilities and business headquarters and we are equally thrilled to align ourselves with an industry leader such as AdventHealth.” The player’s entrance at One Buc Place, now named AdventHealth Training Center.Tampa Bay BuccaneersThe AdventHealth Training Center opened in 2006 and immediately set a new standard for team training and business headquarters. The more than 135,000-square-foot main complex is a combination of function, style and space while also offering Buccaneer players the latest in sports medicine and training facilities. Player areas include a spacious 6,600-square-foot locker room, nearly 10,000 square-feet of workout and weight training space Tampa Bay Buccaneers T-Shirt , an expansive training room and rehab center featuring three cryo chambers to improve player recovery, and a large, wood paneled team auditorium along with a full complement of position meeting rooms. Prior to the start of the 2017 season, the team finished construction on a state-of-the-art indoor practice facility. The 100,000-square-foot, air-conditioned structure features a full-sized FieldTurf playing surface, has an indoor clearance of 96 feet and seating for up to 3,500 fans. The AdventHealth Training Center’s indoor facility allows the team to practice year-round regardless of weather conditions and is used frequently for walkthroughs, practices and select training camp practices.“Here in Florida, weather is always going to be a factor in your ability to prepare your team,“ said Buccaneers Head Coach Dirk Koetter. “Early in the season we are always dealing with very hot, humid weather, lightning delays and even hurricanes, so having an indoor practice facility that ensures you don’t miss practice time is essential to winning. The AdventHealth Training Center indoor practice facility is a real game changer for us in that we now can ensure our players are as well prepared as possible heading into every game.”The team’s indoor practice facility with new logo on it.Tampa Bay BuccaneersFlorida Hospital is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, operating 28 hospitals across the state, delivering whole-person care to millions of patients each year. Adventist Health System, parent company of Florida Hospital and one of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems, recently announced it will soon become AdventHealth with all of its nearly 50 hospital campuses, including Florida Hospital, adopting the new name and logo beginning January 2, 2019.Report comes courtesy of the Buccaneers Communications Department.
  2. Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler on Sunday for violating team rules and conduct unbecoming a Jaguars football player.Neither one will make the trip to Minnesota on Tuesday for two days of joint practices and a preseason game. The teams play Saturday.Fowler was involved in several fights Sunday http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/vinny-curry-jersey , including one after practice with fellow defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. Ramsey shouted profanities at media members who captured the altercation on video and later threatened reporters with "war" for releasing the video. Ramsey made his threat via Twitter. The team released a one-sentence statement Sunday evening announcing the suspensions. Coach Doug Marrone is expected to address the decision Tuesday. The whole thing seemingly started during practice and carried off the field.Ngakoue and Fowler exchanged words while leaving practice, prompting a skirmish in which no punches were thrown. Ngakoue and Fowler got into it again outside the practice-field gates and had to be pulled apart by teammates, coaches and security personnel. General manager Dave Caldwell could be seen leading Ngakoue away by the wrist. The altercation came on the last of 11 consecutive practices in full pads and in sweltering heat and humidity. It also came a few minutes after a scuffle near the end of practice, when Fowler appeared to shove tight end James O'Shaughnessy out of bounds following a reception. Teammates rushed to break it up.The suspension is the latest issue for Fowler, whose checkered past includes two arrests.Fowler was arrested last year after confronting a 55-year-old man who made a comment about his driving. St. Petersburg police said Fowler exchanged words with the man before hitting him and knocking off his glasses. Fowler then stepped on the glasses before taking the man's grocery bag and tossing it in a lake.Fowler eventually pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery, criminal mischief and petty theft. The case was closed in March http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/lavonte-david-jersey , with Fowler sentenced to a year of probation and 75 hours of community service. The NFL suspended him without pay for the season opener, a one-game penalty that will cost him $214,000.Fowler also was arrested in Miami Beach in March 2016 and charged with misdemeanor counts of assault against a police officer and resisting arrest without violence. The charges were later dropped. That arrest came a little more than two weeks after a video surfaced showing Fowler refereeing a fight between his girlfriend and an ex-girlfriend. He also has a long list of traffic violations.Fowler missed the first two weeks of training camp while recovering from a shoulder injury. He was removed from the physically unable to perform list Saturday, so his altercation with Ngakoue came during his second day of practice.Fowler, the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, is in the final year of his rookie contract and due to make $3.64 million. He has 14 sacks the last two seasons http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/kwon-alexander-jersey , including two in the AFC championship game.Ngakoue, a third-round pick in 2016 who beat out Fowler for the starting job as a rookie, is due to make $735,000 in base salary in 2018. With 20 sacks and 11 forced fumbles in two seasons, Ngakoue is considered one of the cornerstones of Jacksonville's vaunted defense.Ramsey is another key piece. The fifth overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft exchanged barbs with Baltimore receiver Steve Smith as a rookie and got ejected for fighting with Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green last season.Ali Marpet signs contract extension with Bucs A favorite among many — both within the organization and among the fans — will stick around in Tampa Bay for six more years. The Buccaneers announced today that guard Ali Marpet has signed a six-year extension through 2023.“One of our top priorities heading into this season was to secure our core players to long-term deals and I am thrilled to add Ali to that list,” said Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht. “In his first four seasons http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/vernon-hargreaves-iii-jersey , Ali has developed into one of the league’s best offensive guards and we believe he will only continue to improve. His ability to play multiple positions across the line, along with his strong work ethic and overall leadership abilities, were all important factors in our decision to ensure he remains a Buccaneer for the long term.”Marpet was a second-round draft pick in 2015. Since being drafted, he has started every game he has played in. His versatility makes him an asset to the team as he is currently playing at left guard after experimenting at center last season. He was at right guard the previous two seasons. The 25-year-old has been a part of a line that has helped boost the Bucs offense to the top of the league and has been ranked as one of the top offensive lineman in the NFL.“I feel incredibly grateful,” said Marpet. “It’s awesome that the Buccaneers wanted me here as much as I wanted to stay here. I love the Tampa Bay community and the organization and I want to thank the Glazer family for making this possible.”NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo has the details for the extension.
  3. Kendrick Norton and Jeremiah Sirles released The Panthers have made some moves along the fringe of the roster Color Rush Shaq Thompson Jersey , according to Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer. The injury settlement with Sirles comes as a bit of a surprise, as the move suggests that the versatile lineman wasn’t in the Panthers’ plans despite starting the team’s penultimate preseason contest. Depending on the severity of Sirles’ injury and the terms of the settlement, the Panthers could technically re-sign him later this season, but that kind of move rarely happens. The addition of quarterback Connor Cook to the practice squad gives the Panthers four quarterbacks across the active roster and practice squad. To make room for Michigan State’s all time leading passer, the Panthers waived 2018 seventh round pick Kendrick Norton. It’s usually not a good look for a team to cut a draft pick in their first season http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-jarius-wright-jersey , but at the 242nd selection Norton was nothing more than a glorified undrafted free agent. As for Cook, he was selected in the 4th round of the 2016 draft by the Oakland Raiders, where he spent the first two seasons of his career. His first NFL action came in the final game of the 2016 season, where he filled in for an injured Matt McGloin. Against a tough Broncos defense, the rookie completed 14 of 21 passes for 150 yards Youth Greg Olsen Jersey , 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. The following week he made his first career start, the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to do so in a playoff game, against the Houston Texans, and it did not go well. He completed just 18 of 45 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown to go along with three interceptions as the Raiders lost the contest 27-14. He didn’t see the field in 2017 and was released by the Raiders last week after they traded for AJ McCarron. Despite the early ups and downs Youth Ryan Kalil Jersey , Cook comes with more NFL pedigree than any quarterback on the Panthers roster not named Cam Newton. He might prove to not have it what it takes to succeed in the NFL, but it’s good to see the Panthers take a flier on a young quarterback with a decent amount of potential.Engaging the Enemy: Brian joins the Falcoholic to talk Panthers at Falcons I joined Jeanna Thomas and DW to discuss the upcoming divisional matchup on Sunday for your podcasting pleasure. Topics discussed include:How injuries have sucked in general for both teamsHow the Panthers offense will fair against a banged up Falcons defenseHow a terrible slew of injuries ravaged the Panthers offensive line, and how they will try to combat these issuesScoring predictionsSome Saints trash talk (as always) along with some general banter between the rival writersScore predictionsThis is always a fun time with these two, despite their choice of NFL team. 4. Defensive end Julius Peppers took a vet day like he has every previous Wednesday this season. And Color Rush David Mayo Jersey , just like every other week, it shouldn’t affect his game day status on Sunday.Torrey Smith also missed practice today after hurting his knee on Sunday, but he was walking around without a brace so that’s probably good news.Okay, I’m about to type words that will make you freak out Youth Trai Turner Jersey , so just trust me—don’t do it. It’s gonna be okay, guys. I promise.Cam Newton was limited today in practice with a sore shoulder. Don’t panic, y’all. It’s gonna be fine.See. It’s fine. The Charlotte Observer recently had an interview with Panthers defensive tackle Dontari Poe. The interview, in short http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-mario-addison-jersey , was quite amusing. Not because there was any type of breaking news or anything, but because Poe is a man of few words. Poe didn’t need to go into details. He said what he needed to say and I respect that. This man that’s 345 pounds rather use his words on the field. But what I want to know is, why aren’t more people talking about him?The Panthers acquired Poe back in March on a three-year, $28 million deal. Previously Color Rush Torrey Smith Jersey , Poe was with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons. He has two Pro Bowls and two fat man touchdowns under his belt (not including a touchdown pass). Although he’s only recorded 15.5 sacks, he’s assisted for 61. Poe is arguably the Panthers best pickup in free agency this year. He’s versatile, quick for his size, and physical. Ron Rivera has raved about Poe’s physical ability thus far in training camp. Poe will help fill the void of losing Star Lotulelei in the 2018 free agent market. The Panthers weren’t stellar on the pass rush last season. Poe will only boost that area of need. But I really hope Poe gets another fat man touchdown this season.

Derby (foot), cornerback Bobby McCain (knee), safety T.J. McDonald (knee), wide receiver DeVante Parker (quadriceps), and defensive end Cameron Wake (knee) on the report Youth Kenny Stills Jersey , all as questionable. This could be the return of McCain and Wake, both of which have missed games dealing with their injuries, and would be a huge benefit to Miami to have back on the field this week. The Lions have defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder), guard T.J. Lang (concussion), and tight end Michael Roberts (knee)all on the report as questionable. The Dolphins and the Lions will kick off at 1pm ET on Sunday in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

  7. They were fully prepared for Baltimore rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson's slippery running style and the Ravens' refurbished rushing attack.Jackson dared the Bucs (5-9) to catch him if they could. They couldn't.Jackson ran for 95 of Baltimore's 242 yards on the ground Authentic Ronnie Stanley Jersey , and the Ravens formally eliminated the Bucs from playoff contention with a 20-12 victory Sunday.Named the start earlier in the week over a healthy Joe Flacco, Jackson repeatedly slithered and juked through the Tampa Bay defense. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry and kept the Bucs guessing by throwing 23 times for 131 yards."He's very elusive," Tampa Bay defensive end Carl Nassib said. "I did have my hands on him. I had plays to make and I didn't make them. I've got to make them in the future."Jackson would have surpassed 100 yards rushing if not for losing nine yards on his final four carries, including three kneel-downs in victory formation."He's the reincarnation of Michael Vick," Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. "He's a lot faster than you think on the field. When you see him in person, he can really run. He controls the defense well. They put him in great positions; he's going to be good for a long time."Tampa Bay is merely one in a series of teams to be run over by Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner and the 32nd overall pick in the NFL draft. The Ravens are 4-1 since Jackson took over for Flacco, who was sidelined with a sore right hip. Flacco is healthy now, but coach John Harbaugh didn't want to mess with a good thing. So, having retained the starting job, Jackson ran all over the defenseless Bucs."He adds an element to their run game," linebacker Lavonte David said. "He's fast, and they use him really well. They put him in situations where he can tuck and run it or make adjustments and execute."As new defensive coordinator Mark Duffner's scheme continues to evolve, Sunday's performance was proof that there's still substantial work to be done. That was especially evident as Jackson and Gus Edwards (19 carries Youth Joe Flacco Jersey , 104 yards) darted through holes big enough to elongate drives."You've got to be disciplined in every game that you play and at times we weren't disciplined," Nassib lamented. The defense wasn't Tampa Bay's only shortcoming. The Bucs could muster only 241 yards in offense, with Jameis Winston going 13 for 25 for 157 yards (64 on one pass to Mike Evans) and an interception."They have a good defense, so kudos to them," Winston said. "The rain made it very hard at times. Considering the conditions, I thought we did pretty well. But we needed to execute better, especially on third down."Tampa Bay was 3 for 10 on third down and failed to convert its only attempt on fourth down. The Bucs are essentially done this year, but it's not too soon for Winston to start stating his case to start for Tampa Bay next season."My future is in God's hands," he said. "Of course losing bothers me, but I feel blessed to be playing in the NFL." Joe Haden knows about losing to the Baltimore Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback has been on the losing end of 11 of his 14 games against Baltimore. Ten of those 11 came when he was with the Cleveland Browns. He's only lost to the Ravens once with the Steelers, 26-14 in Week 4 of this season. That one felt different. So will the game Sunday, where the Steelers secondary will look to take another step in a third straight game against an AFC North rival."I think being here and (in Cleveland), (the Steelers are) at the top of the division most of the time, seeing who can win it and fighting for the division winner http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-maxx-williams-jersey ," Haden said."So I think that's just a little different toward the end of the season, knowing these games (against Baltimore) could be big when we get to the end, determining who can get to the playoffs."The secondary could obviously be better than it was in the previous matchup, Haden said. Defensive coordinator Keith Butler agreed.Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns against a Steelers secondary that allowed an average of 305 passing yards through its first four games."We have to make sure, as much as we can, that we keep the ball in front of us," Butler said. "We can't give up easy touchdowns. Teams go up, we have to make them go up by (field goals) and not let them go up by seven, if we can."Ravens wide receiver John Brown had 116 yards and one touchdown on just three receptions in the first matchup against Pittsburgh. Haden knows that can't happen again."He's a small dude, obviously. He's small, really fast," Haden said. "You have to make sure you keep him in front of you. He can really beat you. ... He had those two deep balls on us, so we have to contain that."If Pittsburgh's past three games are any indication, the defensive backs might have a better chance against Brown this time.Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was held without a catch until the fourth quarter of a 41-17 loss to the Steelers in Week 5 Justin Tucker Jersey , when he had a season-low 62 yards. The following week, A.J. Green caught seven of his 12 targets for 85 yards in a 28-21 Cincinnati Bengals loss to Pittsburgh.Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry had 39 yards on eight receptions in the Steelers' 33-18 win last Sunday.Haden matched up against each of those three. He wouldn't say who would be responsible for Brown from Pittsburgh's secondary, which is expected to have cornerback Artie Burns in the mix after using him exclusively on special teams against Cleveland.Burns was disciplined after arriving late to a team walkthrough Saturday.Cornerback Mike Hilton, whom Haden called one of the Steelers' best players, said no matter who is called upon, limiting Brown is a must for Pittsburgh. After missing the first matchup with an elbow injury, Hilton also said he has a plan for Sunday."There were certain things I did see," Hilton said. "I feel like I'll be able to, I'm not going to say make every play, but help control the outcome of that play. So personally, I feel like from what I saw from the last game and what I've seen up until now, I have a solid idea what to expect."NOTES: QB Ben Roethlisberger (left finger), LB Bud Dupree (illness) and C Maurkice Pouncey (did not practice Wednesday/coaches' decision) were full participants Thursday. ... CB Coty Sensabaugh (toe) and OL Marcus Gilbert (knee) were limited. ... OL Ramon Foster (coaches' decision) did not practice.
  8. The Baltimore Ravens have reportedly worked out five running backs on Friday afternoon http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-willie-snead-iv-jersey , per ESPN’s Field Yates. Baltimore currently has three running backs on their active roster — Alex Collins, Javorius Allen, and Gus Edwards. However, the Ravens’ running game has not gotten off to the start they had hoped. It is not entirely the running backs’ fault for the poor results in the running game but adding another tailback could give them a necessary spark. Jamaal Charles is the big name on this list as he was a playmaker in Kansas City for several years. He was one of the top running backs in the league with the Chiefs, but those days are behind him. Since being released from Kansas City, Charles has played for the Broncos and Jaguars. In 16 total games over the last two season, he has amounted 303 rushing yards and one touchdown. Charles was reportedly mulling over retiring after being released by the Jaguars, but that could change if the Ravens decided to kick the tires on him. Another interesting name on this list is former Iowa Hawkeye running back Akrum Wadley. Although he ultimately went undrafted, he was one of the more intriguing running backs in the 2018 NFL Draft class. It was a shock that Wadley did not get drafted, but he quickly landed on the Titans’ roster as an undrafted free agent. After spending the preseason in Tennessee, Wadley was cut and not re-signed to their practice squad. He has been out of football since then.In college, Wadley was a human highlight reel. Wadley’s ability to make defenders miss is his greatest trait. He does not go down easy, and he fights for every yard. Wadley can also make an impact in the passing game, as he showed at Iowa. In his final two seasons Cheap Hayden Hurst Jersey , Wadley combined for over 2,000 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added 64 receptions for 668 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He could be worthy of a practice squad spot if the Ravens can clear a spot for him. Charcandrick West started his NFL career with the Chiefs and was with them for four seasons before being cut in 2018. He then signed with the Jets but was cut before the regular season began. He is a serviceable running back, who could also make an impact in the passing game. Fitzgerald Toussaint is another veteran running back, and he actually started his NFL career in Baltimore. Toussaint was with the Ravens during the 2014 season. He served primarily as a special teams player. After being released by Baltimore in 2015, Toussaint spent the next few seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was also a special teamer and a third-string running back. He was released by Pittsburgh before the start of the 2018 season. The fifth running back Baltimore worked out was former Wisconsin Badger Dare Ogunbowale. He went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft but quickly signed with the Houston Texans. He has had stints with three different teams, including two times with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Ravens have several options if they choose to add a running back as they could sign any of these players or wait a couple of weeks until Kenneth Dixon can return to the field as one of their two injured reserve-designated to return players. According to the NFL rules, if a player is to be selected as one of two IR-DTR players, they must miss eight games before being activated.Stats to know from the Ravens’ 26-14 win over the Steelers The Ravens are now on their first winning streak of the 2018 season, as they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-14 on Sunday Night Football. This win not only improved their overall record to 3-1 but their divisional record to 1-1. They are currently in a tie with the Bengals for first place, but due to tiebreakers, the Bengals hold the top spot. With 12 games remaining, and another matchup with Cincinnati looming, a lot can change. In Week 4 Eric Weddle Jersey , the Ravens were impressive in all three phases. They were able to shutdown a highly ranked offense, while also dominating a poor defense. By the numbers, how were they so successful? 2: The Steelers only recorded two sacks, and quarterback Joe Flacco had plenty of time to throw against a weak secondary. Pittsburgh’s defense has been atrocious this season, but they are among the league leaders in sacks. The Ravens’ much-maligned offensive line limited a potent pass-rush.47.1%: Baltimore’s offense nearly converted 50% of their third down attempts, which aided their defense. They were able to use trick plays, play action and power runs among other concepts to convert on third down. For comparison, the Colts are currently the league’s best third down offense, as they have converted 51.6% of the time. Baltimore now ranks sixth in the league.25% (not including final drive): The Ravens’ offense was operating a league-high 12-for-12 in the red zone heading into Week 4. That streak reached 13-for-13 before ending with an Alex Collins fumble, and then two red zone trips ended in a field goal. This effort was enough to propel the Ravens to victory this week, but it will be a stat they will look to improve upon next week. The official stat book will count Baltimore’s final drive, which started at Pittsburgh’s 16-yard line.8.64: Joe Flacco’s 8.64 yards per attempt was his highest total in a regular season game since Week 12 of the 2014 season against the New Orleans Saints — 10.96. For perspective, Flacco’s 5.72 yards per attempt last season was the worst in the league.35:03: Pittsburgh only possessed the ball for 24:57, which is a testament to Baltimore’s stout defense. They were able to limit the Steelers’ dynamic offense and get them off the field Cheap Za'Darius Smith Jersey , while also forcing two turnovers. 4.8: The Ravens held Pittsburgh’s high-octane offense to only 4.8 yards per play. This is an incredible feat considering Baltimore was without both Jimmy Smith and Willie Henry. This defense continues to put the heat on opposing offenses when it matters most. 9: Baltimore’s defense has only allowed nine points in the second half this season. They have not allowed a single touchdown in the second half through four games, and Pittsburgh was scoreless in the final two quarters in Week 4.1.7: The Ravens limited the Steelers to 19 rushing yards on 11 attempts, which averages to 1.7 yards per rush. Baltimore’s run defense is fifth best in the league, and they have faced the 24th, 22nd, fourth and 28th best rushing attacks thus far. 71: John Brown’s 71-yard reception was not only the longest offensive play of Baltimore’s season, but it was the most yards gained on a single play since Mike Wallace’s 95-yard touchdown reception against the Steelers in Week 9 of the 2016 season. 1,352: Brown is on pace to finish the 2018 season with 1,352 yards, which would be the most by any Ravens’ receiver in a single-season. Michael Jackson currently holds the record as he posted 1,201 yards in the 1996 season.
  9. Titans coach Mike Vrabel said Walker was not in the locker room after their 27-20 loss http://www.titanscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-jayon-brown-jersey , but their thoughts and prayers are with the veteran."It certainly didn't look good from where I was standing," Vrabel said.Walker was the third Titans starter to leave the game with an injury. Two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan left with a concussion, and quarterback Marcus Mariota was pulled with an elbow injury after a pair of interceptions in a game that lasted 7 hours and 8 minutes 鈥?the NFL's longest since the league's merger in 1970 with the AFL.Vrabel said Mariota and the other Titans will be evaluated.Three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen tried to play for the Carolina Panthers with a back injury only to wind up on the sideline on crutches wearing a walking boot on an injured foot. Olsen went to the locker room in the second quarter. He missed nine games last season with a fracture in his foot, though coach Ron Rivera said it wasn't the same injury.Jacksonville running back Leonard Fournette hurt his hamstring in the second quarter and never returned to the Jaguars' season opener. The Jaguars beat the Giants 20-15 without Fournette, who finished with 41 yards on nine carries and he also had three catches for 14 more yards before leaving the game.Fournette led the AFC South champs with 1,040 yards rushing and nine touchdowns as a rookie last season. Originally, his return was questionable before he was ruled out in the second half."It's something that he felt like, I know when I talked to him, he's had it before and knows how to treat it," Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said of Fournette. "That makes things pretty optimistic whereas normally I'm not that optimistic."Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin was knocked out of the game against Denver with an injured right knee. He was hurt in the first quarter when a Denver player he was attempting to block rolled over his leg. He walked off under his own power and came back briefly before leaving the game. Baldwin missed all of August with a left knee injury. In Los Angeles, Chargers right tackle Joe Barksdale was carted back to the locker room with a knee injury. Barksdale suffered the injury near the end of the Chargers' third offensive drive of the first quarter.Houston Texans right tackle Seantrel Henderson also was carted off the field in New England with a left ankle injury. Patriots defensive lineman Keionta Davis landed on Henderson's ankle while trying to rush quarterback Deshaun Watson. Henderson was tended to on the field for a few minutes and then walked off under his own power. After the training staff looked at him on the sideline, Henderson hopped on his right leg to a cart before being driven into the tunnel beneath the stands.Henderson was hurt a few plays after Houston defensive lineman Christian Covington needed medical attention for a thigh injury. Cornerback Kevin Johnson also left with a concussion and did not return.Patriots running back Jeremy Hill did not return after a knee injury with 12:09 left in the third quarter. He was hurt on a play where tight end Rob Gronkowski fumbled after a 25-yard catch. Hill was helped off the field and evaluated in the medical tent before returning to the locker room. He had four carries for 25 yards and was credited with a partial punt block. In the tie between Pittsburgh and Cleveland , Steelers cornerback Joe Haden hurt his hamstring in the second half and didn't return. Cleveland defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah returned after briefly leaving with an injured ankle.Tampa Bay cornerback Vernon Hargreaves was helped to the locker room with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter.Bengals linebacker Preston Brown limped off the field late in the first half of a win in Indianapolis with an injured right ankle, and Cincinnati defensive tackle Andrew Billings also left with leg cramps late in the third quarter. The Colts lost cornerback Chris Milton in the second half with a concussion.San Francisco wide receiver Marqise Goodwin hurt his right quadriceps in the first quarter and didn't return in a loss to Minnesota. The 49ers also lost a pair of guards with Mike Person going down in the second quarter followed by his replacement Joshua Garnett in the third, both with left foot injuries. Linebacker Brock Coyle, filling in for Malcolm Smith because of an injury, hurt his head and neck in the fourth quarter. He was down for several minutes before walking off.Minnesota cornerback Trae Waynes didn't return after hurting his knee while ripping a deep pass away in the second quarter.Bills cornerback Taron Johnson did not return to Buffalo's loss to Baltimore after hurting a shoulder. The Titans offense is bad. Like really bad. Through 7 weeks of play, only two teams have scored fewer points than Tennessee’s 106 — the Cardinals and the Bills. Ten teams who have scored more than the Titans — the Panthers, Redskins Cheap Kamalei Correa Jersey , Bears, Buccaneers, Lions, Saints, Packers, Raiders, Seahawks, and Steelers — have already had their bye week. Over the last few days I have seen this graphic used a lot as an explanation for why this offense has been so bad during 2018.Drops are a relatively subjective measure though so I checked out a few other sources. STATS had the Titans ranked 12th in the NFL with 10 total drops on the season. Compiling PFF’s individual player drop data also had the Titans ranked 12th, but with 12 drops instead of 10. The drop rate for Titans receivers is at 8.3% of catchable passes which is 8th highest in the NFL per PFF. I decided to chart it myself just to be sure and I came up with these 13:Dion Lewis drops a pass on a hitch route on 2nd and 12 against Miami which would have gained about 5 yards. The Titans would fail to convert the 3rd and 12 on the next play, leading to a punt down 17-10 with about 12:00 left in the game.Jonnu Smith drops a short pass on 2nd and 3 against Miami which may have gotten the first down. The Titans would convert on 3rd and 3 the next play to extend the drive.Dion Lewis drops a check down on 4th and 7 against Miami, but there was no chance he was getting the first down even if he caught it. Rishard Matthews drops a pass on a short hitch route on 3rd and 2 against Jacksonville that would have picked up about 5 yards for the first down. The ball appeared to be knocked out by a defender, but Matthews should have had this one. Titans punt.Tajae Sharpe drops a dig route on 3rd and 6 against Jacksonville that would have picked up about 10-15 yards. He was wide open and the pass hit him right in the numbers. Titans punt.Jonnu Smith drops a pass from a scrambling Marcus Mariota on 3rd and 7 that would have picked up about 10 yards. Again, wide open and hit him right in the numbers. Titans settle for a field goal.Taywan Taylor drops a back shoulder throw on 3rd and 4 against Philadelphia that would have picked up about 15-20 yards. He was late locating the ball in the air and made the catch harder than it needed to be. This is probably not a pure drop, but it was a wide receiver error, so we’re putting it in.Darius Jennings drops a deep post on 1st and 10 in overtime against Philadelphia that would have gone for about 50 yards. This one hits him right in the numbers as well, but he can’t hang on. I have seen some saying that he would have scored on this play, but that’s not true. He almost certainly gets pulled down by one of the three Eagles defenders who were in the area. It still would have been a big play though.Corey Davis drops a quick slant on 2nd and goal in overtime against Philadelphia. This throw was a bit behind him, but should have easily been catchable. This drop actually helped the Titans though as Davis was going to be tackled immediately and they likely would not have had time to get another play off before being forced to kick the field goal. Nick Williams drops a deep pass from a scrambling Mariota on 3rd and 4 against Buffalo. You know the one. It goes for a 21 yard touchdown if he catches it and the Titans likely win the game. Titans instead settle for a field goal.Corey Davis drops a pass on a short hitch route on 2nd and 10 against Baltimore. I debated about whether or not to include this one. Davis slips on a wet field as he’s trying to stop on the route. By the time he gets up the ball is already on him and he’s barely able to get a hand on it. Titans would punt two plays later.Taywan Taylor drops a pass on a crossing route on 1st and 10 against Los Angeles. No excuse for this one. He was wide open and it hit him right in stride. However, the Titans would convert the first down a couple plays later to continue the drive.Corey Davis drops a pass on an out route on 3rd and 7 against Los Angeles. This may be the most frustrating one of the group because it looks to me like Davis has his head around in plenty of time Womens Ben Jones Jersey , but just tries to one-hand the catch for no reason. Titans miss a field goal on the next play.First, I know that some will disagree with me leaving the pass to Taywan Taylor in the endzone against Miami off this list, but if we’re looking at actual drops I just can’t include that one. If you’re looking for opportunities where the receivers could have made a big play for the offense, that is definitely on that list, but I don’t think it belongs in the “drop” category. All of these are frustrating to watch back — as all drops for any team are — and there does seem to be an inordinate number of drops coming at critical times. Out of the 13 drops, 7 of them have come on either 3rd or 4th down. Worse, 8 of the 13 have come in the 4th quarter or overtime. If you want to make the argument that these guys are getting tight in big spots and/or pressing to come up with a clutch play, there appears to be some truth to that line of thinking. I say all that to acknowledge, that yes, the drops are an issue. You could easily argue that the Titans are 5-2 with wins over the Bills and Chargers if Nick Williams and Corey Davis are able to catch open passes in the 4th quarters of those games. But would that substantially change the way you felt about this offense? It wouldn’t for me. Maybe the focus of the conversation would be around how well the defense is playing, but there would still be major concern over the offense. For example, let’s say we have a magic wand and can use it to change the three biggest missed opportunities due to drops into complete passes. I’ll use the Williams drop against Buffalo, the Davis drop against LA, and the Jennings drop against Philadelphia. We would add 10 points — giving the Titans a field goal from the Chargers drive — and about 100 yards to the team totals for the season while lowering the drop rate to below league average. Those changes would move the Titans offense from 30th in points scored to a tie for 28th and would bump them from 29th in total yards of offense to 28th. Basically, this is still a bottom five offense even if they have a below average drop rate.Look around the league at other teams. The Chiefs with all their offensive weapons have 13 drops on the season per PFF — one more than Tennessee according to their charting — and yet they’ve scored 154 more points than the Titans have in 2018. That’s a delta of 22 points per game.Cleveland — with a rookie quarterback, an average at best offensive line, and one legitimate pass catcher in Jarvis Landry — is averaging almost 7 points and over 75 yards more per game than Tennessee despite having a whopping 21 drops according to PFF. The actual issue, in my opinion, is the lack of explosive plays in the Titans offense. Sharp Football Stats defines explosive plays as runs of 10+ yards and passes of 15+ yards. Through 7 weeks Womens Tajae Sharpe Jersey , the Titans have 11 explosive rushes and 9 explosive passes. Those totals rank 29th and 30th, respectively, in the NFL. The Titans rank 31st — above only the lowly Cardinals — when it comes to combined explosive plays with 20. Even the Bills have a higher total. For some context the two LA teams have 51 combined explosive plays each through 7 weeks. But what about the drops limiting the explosive plays? That’s a factor of course, but even giving the benefit of the doubt on a few of the plays listed above, the Titans would add — at most — 5 explosive plays if they had caught all of those passes. That would move them up to 24th in the NFL. That’s still not good enough.Explosive plays are crucial to scoring in the modern NFL. Studies have found that drives that include an explosive play result in points over 75% of the time. An explosive play basically doubles your odds of scoring on any given drive. Right now, the Titans are largely relying on stringing together an endless stream of 3rd downs before eventually converting in the red zone for a touchdown. They are yet to score a touchdown on offense from outside the red zone. That’s a really tough formula for success. The Titans are converting 3rd downs at a rate of 38.1% which is 21st in the league. In the red zone, Tennessee has scored a touchdown on 43.8% of their opportunities, 29th in the NFL. With an average starting line of scrimmage of the 26-yard line, that means that without the help of explosive plays, the Titans are left trying to pick up about five 1st downs on the way to the end zone during their average drive. So how do the Titans become a more explosive offense? That’s the question that Jon Robinson, Mike Vrabel, and Matt LaFleur need to be asking themselves this week. Maybe a trade for a guy like DeSean Jackson who could add that element through his elite speed and ball-tracking ability would make sense. However, if they don’t decide to make a roster move, it’s going to fall on LaFleur to find a way to scheme some receivers open. It’s also going to fall on Marcus Mariota to be aggressive attacking down field and the receivers to get open and catch the ball when they do get an opportunity to make a big play. Even when the offense has been good in 2018, it has largely taken them falling behind early to wake them up. Tennessee is dead last in the NFL in 1st half points, averaging just 5 per game. They nearly double that number in the second half — though that is still good for just 27th in the league. They need to come out of the gates aggressive if they want to get things on track in the second half of the year.
  10. The Dallas Cowboys are 0-1 after losing to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday evening by a final score of 16 to 8.Dallas had a chance to drive the field and try to send the game into overtime but Dak Prescott fumbled the Cowboys’ chances away. It wasn’t a good outing for Prescott Youth Malcolm Jenkins Jersey , who finished 19/29 for only 170 yards (5.9 average), zero touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 81.1 passer rating. Those numbers don’t even truly reflect his struggles. He totally failed to help the Cowboys move the ball during key moments. Dallas converted just two out of 12 combined third and fourth down situations. In fairness to Prescott, it’s not like he had Sean Lee and Ezekiel Elliott.Oh, wait, he did.Seriously, though, the struggles weren’t ALL his fault. Certainly the Cowboys don’t have A-plus coaching and their over-hyped offensive line has some issues. Rookie left guard Connor Williams is looking like a turnstile and backup center Joe Looney is certainly no Travis Frederick. Then there’s the fact Dallas doesn’t have a ton of amazing receiving options. Still, a true franchise quarterback is able to overcome adversity. To this point, Prescott has never really proved the ability to do that. He had a great rookie year in 2016 when he had the perfect situation surrounding him. Since then, he’s struggled when things have been less than perfect.I mean, the guy has thrown ONE touchdown pass since Week 14 last year. Carson Wentz, who threw a touchdown pass on a torn ACL, and tight end Trey Burton also have the same amount of touchdown passes since then. The Cowboys’ loss drops Dallas to fourth place in the NFC East after Week 1. The complete standings below:1 - Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)2- Washington Redksins (1-0) 3 - New York Giants (0-1)4 - Dallas Cowboys (0-1)This weekend would’ve been perfect if Washington lost but it looks they’re not as bad as the Giants and Cowboys appear to be. Oh well. I’ll settle for being able to make fun of this Blogging The Boys tweet that was pout out during the Eagles-Falcons game on Thursday night.Eagles: 18 points.Falcons: 12 points.Cowboys: 8 points. You stay delusional, Dallas. Earlier this year, I made a bold statement that the Eagles will not win the Super Bowl. At 4-4, the team only has a 67% chance to make the playoffs, it appears I might have been on to something. As you, a beloved reader of BGN who never skips straight to the comments, recall from reading this article, I was very critical of the Eagles’ secondary, specifically Jalen Mills and the cornerback position. Well now that our favorite team in green has played half of their 2018 games, lets take a look at how my hawt taeks aged and what the heck is going on.It dawned on me recently that the Eagles have almost been two separate teams. At times, like Week 6 against the Giants or the second half of the showdown in Minnesota http://www.eaglesauthorizedshops.com/authentic-brandon-graham-jersey , the Eagles look like a dominant, champion caliber team. At other times, like the first half of the game against Tampa Bay or the end of the Panthers game, the team looks lost, confused, and downright terrible. Using my Engineering background, I was able to determine which halves the Eagles outscored their opponents, and which halves the Eagles got outscored in.The Good Eagles: Eagles 149 - Opponent 65: (2.3 K/D Ratio)Week 1, Half 2: Eagles 15- Falcons 6Week 2, Half 2: Eagles 14 - Buccaneers 7Week 3: Eagles 20 - Colts 16Week 4, Half 1: Eagles 10 - Titans 3Week 5, Half 2: Eagles 18 - Vikings 6Week 6: Eagles 38 - Giants 9Week 7, Half 1: Eagles 10 - Panthers 0Week 8: Eagles 24 - Jaguars 18The Bad Eagles: Eagles 33 - Opponent 87: (0.38 K/D Ratio)Week 1, Half 1: Eagles 3 - Falcons 6Week 2, Half 1: Eagles 7 - Buccaneers 20Week 4, Half 2: Eagles 13 - Titans 23Week 5, Half 1: Eagles 3 - Vikings 17Week 7, Half 2: Eagles 7 - Panthers 21While it appears the Good Eagles have shown up more than the Bad Eagles, it is very concerning just how bad the Bad Eagles have been. When diving into the data between these groups of halves, one thing stood out like a bad Jerry Jones haircut. All that Matters is The Ability to Generate PressureThe Good Eagles have generated pressure on 50.2% of passing plays, a rate which is simply astounding. The Bad Eagles, on the other hand, have generated pressure on just 37.4% of plays. Consequently, the Good Eagles have allowed a passer rating of just 74.5 Rodney McLeod Jersey , a mark that would be best in the league if only the Good Eagles were an actual team. Unfortunately, the Bad Eagles, who have allowed a passer rating of 106.5 (a mark that would be 3rd worst in the league), need to be considered as well. When broken down by halves and graphed, you get something like this:To summarize the chart above. When the Eagles:Generate pressure on > 37.2% of snaps, they outscore their opponents 90.9% of the timeHold opposing QBs to a rating of < 94.0, they outscore their opponents 88.9% of the time.Do both, they outscore their opponents 100% of the timeDo neither, they outscore their opponents 0% of the timeAlso, when the Eagles generate pressure on > 37.2% of snaps, opposing QBs throw for a passer rating of < 94.0 63.6% of the time.To put it simply, when the Eagles generate a lot of pressure, they limit the effectiveness of the opposing gunslinger and usually win the game (or in this case, the half). It appears that the Eagles success so far in 2018 has been almost entirely dependent on the defense and their ability to generate pressure and slow down the passing game. The ability of the Eagles to slow down opposing running attacks also appears to have little to nothing to do with the outcome, as the Good Eagles have allowed 4.8 yards per carry, while the Bad Eagles have allowed just 3.9. Pressure, with a sprinkle of production by the offense, that is.While pressure generated seems to be the most important factor in terms of success by the Eagles this season, it would be foolish to ignore the inconsistency of the offense throughout the same games. Similar to above, I broke down the offensive production, by half, into a plot to look for any correlation between success in the passing game or success in the running game and winning. In summary, when the Eagles:Run the ball for 3.9 or more yards per carry, they outscore their opponents 90% of the time. Pass the ball for 6.9 or more YPA Authentic Lane Johnson Jersey , they outscore their opponents 81.8% of the time.Do both, they outscore their opponents 100% of the time.Do neither, they outscore their opponents 0% of the time.Given the recent trade for Golden Tate, it appears the Eagles agree that more production should be had out of the Philly passing game. Without Jay Ajayi, the team may struggle to dominate on the ground, but the data shows that if they can be merely league average with a proficient passing attack, that is enough to win.Given the data, it is evident what the team needs to focus on moving forward if they want the Good Eagles to simply become the 2018 Eagles:Passing, Passing, Passing, Passing, Passing. On offense, the Good Eagles pass for 8.0 yards per attempt, and run for 4.2 yards per carry while their negative counterpart passes for just 5.8 yards per attempt and 3.7 yards per carry. While 3.7 yards per carry is nothing to write home about, it is enough to get first downs and be effective. 5.8 yards per attempt, on the other hand, is what you get if you want to be in between Josh Allen and Tyrod Taylor. For this reason, it is comforting to see that the Eagles made a trade to increase the effectiveness of the aerial attack and not the ground gameAs far as defense goes, the Eagles are plenty good at stopping the run. As mentioned above, the Good Eagles are actually worse at it than the Bad Eagles, and yet they are undefeated! While the secondary will remain a liability for the remainder of the season, a dominant pass rush that the team has proven capable of generating is the only thing separating a 4-4 defense from an 8-0 defense.
  11. Countdown To Kickoff: Texans at Titans The Houston Texans face off against division (and historical) foes the Tennessee Titans in Nashville this afternoon http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/j.j.-watt-jersey-authentic , and we’re here on Sunday morning, getting ready for day to unfold. Most wouldn’t expect a team from Tennessee to be a natural rival for a team from Texas (we’ve got the Southern Oklahoma Silver Stars to loathe and despise, as well as the Neckbeard Horseshoes) but the Titans control the Oilers’ history, and our loyalty is to Houston, and so http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/johnathan-joseph-jersey-authentic , we rejoice in their general sh.ttiness any hope it continues for eternity. These two teams have faced one another 32 times since our inception. This is where we’re counting down until the action begins. The first quarter open thread launches at 11:45 Central Time. Until then, marinate here and discuss anything Texans-focused. Thursday Night Football Live: Colts v. Patriots Less than a week after they lost in overtime to the winless Houston Texans http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/jadeveon-clowney-jersey-authentic , the Indianapolis Colts find themselves in Massachusetts to tangle with the Patriots on Thursday Night Football. If the situation somehow presents itself, do you think Frank Reich will go for it on 4th and 4 in overtime again? For all the talk about playing to win, I don’t reckon he would.Granted, maybe that’s because a tie with the Patriots on the road isn’t as bitter a pill to swallow as a tie with the Texans at home, but a tie is still a tie Youth D.J. Reader Jersey , right? If you truly want to avoid one, you’d want to avoid all of ‘em.Still, I’d be curious to see if Reich doubled down or played things differently.Back to the game tonight...I suppose Texans fans should root for the Patriots to create some distance in the AFC South standings between Indianapolis and Houston, but I’m open to discussion about that and any other thoughts about Colts-Patriots as the game unfolds in the space below.
  12. After all Pittsburgh Steelers Hoodie , there was a reason Mike Tomlin spoke about the “September Stench” surrounding his team as the calendar turned to October. But one of the most blatant issues with the Steelers has been penalties. In fact, the Steelers are the most penalized team in the NFL heading into Week 7, but the team is trending in the right direction. This from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:21 penalties in three games for 167 yards is hardly something to write home about, but it is a far cry from the 37 penalties for 361 yards in their first trio of games. The penalties have been numerous, and in almost every variety possible. Lining up illegally on a kickoff/punt, illegal hands to the face, illegal man down field and the always fun false starts to put the offense in an early hole regarding down and distance. With that said, if there is one area of the Steelers which has played superb throughout the entire season, it would be the offensive line. Sure, everyone sees them keeping Ben Roethlisberger upright, but look at these penalty statistics:Yes, the Steelers get penalized a lot, but very few of those penalties come from the offensive line. Throw in the fact this unit hasn’t allowed a sack, and only one quarterback hit, in the past two games Youth Customized Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys , and it is safe to say this is one of the league’s best offensive lines. The road ahead for the Steelers doesn’t get easier. Teams like the Ravens, Saints, Patriots and Chargers all await them in the second half of the season, and one thing the team can’t do is continually shoot themselves in the foot with penalties. By just eliminating the negative plays via penalty will immensely help the Steelers’ chances of not just winning games, but winning the AFC North division and punching their ticket into the postseason once again. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens will renew their rivalry for the second, and last time, of the 2018 regular season. The Ravens got the best of the Steelers in the first meeting at Heinz Field, and Pittsburgh is looking to get revenge on their division rivals at M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday in Week 9.Entering the game, the two teams couldn't be on different trajectories. The Steelers are coming off three straight wins over the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, while the Ravens have lost two tough games against the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers. Despite the overall records, and recent successes, Las Vegas has the Ravens a 3-point favorites at home. This is understandable considered how the Steelers have struggled in Baltimore in recent memory. The win there in 2017 was the first win in Baltimore since Charlie Batch was the quarterback of the Steelers, filling in for an injured Ben Roethlisberger.Regardless of what Vegas says, it is time to see who the NFL experts like in this AFC North matchup. If you are looking for a panel which favors the black-and-gold www.steelersfootballauthentics.com , look no further than both ESPN and CBS Sports. Of ESPN’s 10 experts, six of them like the Steelers to extend their winning streak to four games. A whopping 7 of CBS’ 9 experts also like the Steelers this Sunday as road underdogs. At USA Today, 3 of the 5 experts are favoring the Steelers, but have no fear, the haters here at SB Nation are pro-Baltimore. Only 2 of the 7 experts who submit weekly picks sees the Steelers winning on the road. Believe it or not, experts are split on this matchup. For further evidence of this you have to take a look at the entire spectrum of NFL expert picks. This is where the website NFL Pick Watch comes in handy. NFL Pick Watch takes all expert picks across the world wide web and puts them in one easy-to-read graph. According to those at NFL Pick Watch, 52% of experts like the Ravens to hold serve at home and right the ship heading into Week 10. There you have it. Vegas is leaning towards the Ravens, and the NFL Expert community as a whole is doing the same. Will the Steelers defy the odds and leave Baltimore with a win, moving their record to 5-2-1, or will the Ravens resurrect their division hopes with a much needed win?Only time will tell, but let us know what you think of this game in the comment section below! The Jaguars won the rematch going away, a 31-20 victory that arguably made them the favorite in the conference. Now, the Jaguars (2-0) get AFC South rival Tennessee. The Titans (1-1) swept the season series in 2017 and have won four of the last five meetings."Losing to a team twice, at their house and here, that wasn't cool," linebacker Myles Jack said Wednesday. "We're not too happy about that. That's obviously being talked about this week. The New England game was one thing, but this is a team that literally beat us twice in one year. We've got to fix that."Tennessee scored 30 unanswered points in the first meeting last year Womens Tajae Sharpe Jersey , running for 179 yards, taking advantage of three turnovers and winning 37-16.The Jaguars weren't much better three months later, turning the ball over four times in a 15-10 loss in the final week of the regular season . Jacksonville played all its starters despite having secured the division title."The Titans were the one team we really didn't have an answer for," safety Tashaun Gipson said. "They outplayed us in every facet of the game. We were truly outmatched, from the home opener last year to the game before the playoffs."Obviously, we want to get our lick back in a sense."What really irked the Jaguars was talk in Tennessee's locker room suggesting the Titans should have been AFC South champs."I know a lot of people heard about that," Gipson said. "We feel like we're the better team and we feel it's time for us to show it. These are games we're supposed to win."The Titans have been less chatty and more complimentary this week."At the end of the day Womens Ryan Succop Jersey , they're the division champs and they got that title, so it's going to be key for us to go out there and take it," defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said. "It doesn't matter what happened last year. They're the champs right now and they got the lead in the division."Jacksonville's Payback Tour doesn't end this week, either. The team hosts New York Jets next week. The Jets beat Jacksonville in overtime last year.Throw in the season opener at the New York Giants ? Jacksonville had the NFL's best record, home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and even led 14-10 at halftime before collapsing. Tenneesse was the only team to beat Jacksonville that season, accomplishing it three times. The Titans also handed Jacksonville one of its most embarrassing losses in team history, a 36-22 drubbing in 2016 that was much worse than the fine score indicated. The Jags trailed 27-0 at halftime on national television, getting outgained by nearly 300 yards."They really did just beat the (crap) out of us," said defensive tackle Abry Jones, one of seven current Jags defenders who started that game. The Titans have won six of nine in the series.New England had won eight straight against Jacksonville before last week's breakthrough victory. Players spent eight months counting down the days until they faced Tom Brady again. They've waited even longer to play the Titans."Anyway you can find a way to get yourself up for a game Cheap Kevin Byard Jersey ," Jack said. "For example, us losing to the them twice would be my motivation. You've got to find a way to hate your opponent."AP Sports Writer Teresa Walker in Nashville, Tennessee, contributed to this report. The Titans should hold steady in most power rankings around the internet today after being on the bye. This exercise gets easier and easier with each passing week because we pretty much know what teams are at this point. I have been trying to identify teams that I still might be too high or too low on. The one that stood out to me this week was the Washington Redskins. They are apparently better than I have been giving them credit for. They are 5-2 and have a 2 game lead in the NFC East. I still don’t think they are a Super Bowl contender, but I did bump them up a little bit this week. Here are my week 9 NFL power rankings:Los Angeles Rams (LW:1)Kansas City Chiefs (LW:2)New Orleans Saints (LW:3)New England Patriots (LW:4)Los Angeles Chargers (LW:6)Minnesota Vikings (LW:5)Carolina Panthers (LW:7)Philadelphia Eagles (LW:9)Pittsburgh Steelers (LW:10)Green Bay Packers (LW:8)Atlanta Falcons (LW:11)Cincinnati Bengals (LW:13)Baltimore Ravens (LW:12)Washington Redskins (LW:17)Chicago Bears (LW:15)Houston Texans (LW:18)Detroit Lions (LW:14)Seattle Seahawks (LW:20)Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW:16)Miami Dolphins (LW:19)Tennessee Titans (LW:21)Indianapolis Colts (LW:27)Jacksonville Jaguars (LW:22)Denver Broncos (LW:23)Dallas Cowboys (LW:24)New York Giants (LW:25)Cleveland Browns (LW:26)Arizona Cardinals (LW:30)New York Jets (LW:28)San Francisco 49ers (LW:29)Buffalo Bills (LW:31)Oakland Raiders (LW:32)
  14. It began with NFL insider Jason La Canfora calling the Eagles a “sleeper team” to acquire the Pittsburgh Steelers running back. Then he reported the Eagles have “interest” in Bell. The latest from La Canfora is that the Eagles “have been mulling the potential of a Bell trade for a while now.” From his CBS column: In addition to all of this http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/jason-kelce-jersey-cheap , Bell told ESPN earlier this week that he believes the Eagles are one of the teams that have interest in acquiring him. I’ve already explained why the Eagles acquiring Bell could be complicated. For that reason, I can’t just easily expect the trade to happen. But it’s hard to ignore La Canfora continually insisting that the Eagles are in on Bell. And with Howie Roseman (whom La Canfora is well-connected to) being an aggressive executive, I wouldn’t put it past him to be able to pull it off. We’ll see.It must be noted that Bell can’t be traded until he signs his franchise tender. The Eagles have until 4:00 PM on October 30 to make a deal before the NFL trade deadline expires. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense has struggled recently, but still rank as a top tier unit over the life of the season and will present unique challenges to the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles’ offense. In this final preview http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/rodney-mcleod-jersey-cheap , The Kist & Solak Show dives deep into what the Jaguars do schematically and how it fits their talent-laden unit. Two major topics concerning the Jaguars defense were their pass rush looks and their deployment of three safety sets against 12/13 personnel. Due to the lack of dependable weapons at receiver outside of Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor, the Eagles run a combination of two and three tight end sets 46% of the time, a league high. The Jaguars are facing 12/13 sets 33% of the time, which is the 3rd highest frequency due to their weakness against it last year. In the offseason Youth Jalen Mills Jersey , to combat this trend, they drafted safety Ronnie Harrison in the third round to bring him in on big nickel and big base sets (where they only field one cornerback). The Eagles ability to be effective against this look will play a big part in their success on Sunday. We also placed bets on the Eagles’ running game, placing the over/under of rush yards at 75. Despite ranking 9th in rush defense DVOA (per Football Outsiders) for the season, the Jaguars have given up over 100 yards five times this year http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/malcolm-jenkins-jersey-cheap , including 206 to the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago. The Eagles have gone over 100 yards four times this year, but only 58 last week. How much faith do we have in running back group right now? Not much. Also on the show, we celebrating achieving over 500 five star ratings by reading the best iTunes reviews and answer the question “do you guys know the names of coverages and routes or something?” All that and more on The Kist & Solak Show #34; stream it on the media player below or click here if the player doesn’t load. 15. This week http://www.texansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-ka_imi-fairbairn-jersey , the SB Nation NFL sites are talking records. As a SB Nation NFL site, BRB is charged with joining the fray. And so we shall! Here’s a list of Texans franchise single-season records. While the Texans haven’t exactly been world-beaters for the majority of their existence, they have had some truly superlative single season performances from exceptional players.Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, J.J. Watt, even Owen Daniels’ 70 receptions at tight end in 2008...there are some impressive stats in there. My question to you, gentle reader:Which of the Texans’ single season marks do you think is the least likely to ever be broken? As crazy as it might sound D.J. Reader Jersey , given the player who holds the record, I’d put my money on the answer to that question being David Carr’s completion percentage in 2006 (68.3%).That accomplishment is not only the high water mark for the Texans; it’s also tied for the 27th best in NFL history. That was Carr’s final season in Houston (and Gary Kubiak’s first); it featured a TON of short, quick drops that didn’t require the first overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft to progress beyond his primary read.Oddly enough, Carr’s significant limitations as a quarterback—the very ones that led to the Texans bringing Matt Schaub in via trade with the Falcons in March of 2007 and cutting ties with Carr two days later—somehow resulted in a franchise record that may never be broken. That’s my take, anyway. What say you? J.J. Watt Rewriting The Record Books Again Last Sunday J.J. Watt set yet another NFL record, having consecutive games with multiple sacks for the seventh time in his career. While Andrew Luck certainly wasn’t happy to see Watt and Clowney comin’, Houston Texans fans need these few rays of sunshine in the dark storm of a season 2018 is shaping up to be. While Watt still needs to chase down more quarterbacks Authentic Christian Covington Jersey , the player he’s spent the most time chasing is Hall of Fame defensive lineman Reggie White. Watt is now second to White in several statistical categories, including fastest to reach 80 career sacks and most games with consecutive sacks. J.J. Watt:While this weekend might prove a little harder for J.J. and his teammates to continue the trend of offensive backfield mayhem when facing a more formidable Dallas Cowboys offensive line and a more mobile quarterback in Dak Prescott, chances are Watt and Clowney will find a way. Let us have your predictions. What does Watt’s game against the Dallas Cowboys look like on Sunday night? Does J.J. Watt destroy Prescott? Will he come back to earth or continue to wreck the offense with the help of Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus (who’s due for a big game), Duke Ejiofor, and the rest of Romeo Crennel’s kids?
