Swara Bhasker starrer Rasbhari is set in Meerut and revolves around a boy called Nand Kishore Tyagi (played by Ayushmaan Saxena), a teenage boy infatuated with his teacher Shanu madam (Swara). Things get complicated when people find out about the teacher's supposed âsex-obsessedâ alter-ego, "Rasbhari".

Check out the trailer here:

Soon, Swara took to her Twitter account to explain the purpose of the scene to the CBFC Chief and pointed out that maybe he misunderstood it.

She tweeted in Hindi, âRespected sir, maybe you have misunderstood the scene. The scene is right opposite to the way it has been described. The child is dancing at her own will and when her father sees that, he feels embarrassed. The dance is not provocative, the child is simply dancing and she has no idea about how society will sexualise this too. This is what the scene shows. #Rashbhari.â

This conversation didnât go unnoticed on the micro-blogging site and the post garnered mixed reactions on Twitter. Besides, people largely also trolled her for her unconventional teacherâs role in Rasbhari.

Series like #Rashbhari are spoiling the minds of the young generation of our country.Yesterday during our class, a student asked our teacher "Ma'am apke saath pleasure lene ko kya karna padega".Gurus are Parabrahma and they should be respected no matter what.#SwaraBhaskar

Starring Swara as an English teacher with a mysterious sex-obsessed alter ego, Rasbhari is helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and created by Tanveer Bookwala and Shantanu Srivastava.

In one of her interviews, Swara said, âI know the criticism has started. That the Guru is like God, and how can she behave this way? I knew I was going into dangerous territory. But I trusted the director and the writer. I had seen the director Nikhil Bhatâs earlier film Brij Mohan Amar Rahe. I knew I was in safe hands. And I was right.â

âOn watching the series with trepidation I was reassured. Rasbhari pushes the borders without getting obscene. Iâm very proud of what weâve achieved. Itâs not easy to avoid sleaze in a film about sexual awakening, first kiss, first sexual experience,â she added.
