6 Practical Reasons Why Batman Can Easily Beat Iron Man In A Real-Life Fight Between The Two

Before Batman V Superman came along, every hardcore comic book fan had a theory of their own on who would win in a fight between Superman & Batman. Do we even need to remind you that he almost killed Superman in the fight, and actually just let go of the fight?

A similar bout that weâre sure that a lot of people would actually pay top money to see, is one between Iron Man & Batman. Speculations have been going on for decades if not more than that on who would win.

We have reasons to believe that if the fight were to take place in the real world, where there is a thing called science, Batman would win, without a doubt. Even if we allow for some of the fantasy world innovations that we love Tony Stark for, we donât see a chance for the Marvel Icon to win.

We pick 6 reasons explaining why.

The ARC Reactor Powering The Suit

There is no doubt that the ARC reactor that powers Iron Manâs suit is a marvel of engineering, even in the realm of fantasy. While there isnât any feasible power source that is that small, and portable in the real world, let us assume that someone actually manages to make a feasible power source which is that small.

First of all, it simply wouldnât be powerful enough to power the suit and everything that it is capable of, for a prolonged period of time. Secondly, assuming that it somehow does power the suit and all of Iron Manâs weapons for a prolonged time, it will be highly unstable, and prone to some serious danger, and might even be fatal, if it takes any damage.

Bruce Wayneâs Skill

Marvel Cinemas never really discussed this, but Tony Stark actually had a masters degree in engineering physics and artificial intelligence by the time he was 19, and has an IQ of 270. That makes him one of the smartest people ever to have existed. After all, he invented a new element.

Bruce Wayne, though not as smart, is no slouch. According to several issues of Batman, Bruce has several engineering degrees, along with a number of degrees on forensics and biochemistry. On top of that Bruce Wayne is conversant in over 23 languages, which actually helped him master over 127 different forms of martial art from all around the world.

This, when compared with that fact that Tony Stark heavily relies on his suit, does not bode well for Iron Man

Metal - Iron Manâs Biggest Strength & Weakness

Speaking of suits, Iron Manâs suit would be heavy AF, even if it is made up of nanobots as we see in the NanoTech suit in Infinity Wars or Endgame. Weâre pretty sure that the agility that Iron Man has as shown in the cinema, wouldnât be possible in the real world.

Furthermore, the problem with nanobots, even under theoretical applications is that they require stable and high-frequency energy, and mostly tend to fail when the bots lose contact with the collective bots, which acts as a host.

We get to see some of this theory in action when we see Tony Stark fighting Thanos in Infinity War. The bots from his legs and feet move up the body, to provide an armour towards the upper half.

Then, there is the fact that no matter what metal you pick, it reacts to elements of the environment. It will either be prone to magnetism or more likely to draw radiation.

Batmanâs armour, on the other hand, is largely knife and bulletproof, shrapnel-proof, and resistant to flames, and radiation. Yes, it is pretty basic when you compare it with Iron Manâs suit and unlike Iron Manâs suit, can never work like a sentient being, but is less likely to fail.

And it is not as if the armour that Batman uses is made of basic kevlar, it uses the best materials on the planet, to keep it light and strong.

Batmanâs Trump Card

Thereâs no point denying that the weapons on Iron Manâs suits will be at least a generation or two ahead of anything that the worldâs most powerful military will have, given that Starkâs main business is clean energy, and weapons manufacturing. However, most of them rely on circuits and electricity, which leave them susceptible to a major catastrophe.

Batman is known to use harmless pieces of technology to immobilise his foes, and one of them is a high-frequency EMP or electromagnetic pulse emitter. Basically what this does, is completely fry electric circuits, and sometimes even cause physical damage to metals, and render them useless. The EMP cannon was first introduced for a brief moment in The Dark Knight Rises, and is a key weapon in the Batplane, or simply, the Bat.

Stark would need some really, really powerful circuit too withstand consecutive and prolonged EMP bursts, something that the compactness of his suit, simply wouldnât allow.

Tonyâs Virtual Assistants Are Hackable

Finally, there is the fact that much of the operations of Iron Manâs suit, is carried out by the virtual assistants, first JARVIS and then FRIDAY. And believe it or not, they are hackable, unless they are stored within the suit itself, which is not the case.

And as big a genius Tony Stark is, when it comes to computers networks and things like that, Bruce Wayne as Batman, is in a different league, with a little help from his trusted butler, Alfred, and Lucius Fox.

There is also the fact that Batman has the most powerful supercomputer at his disposal and a backdoor to the United States Defence Computers. The combined computing power that the systems have is just phenomenal. And mind you, he hacked into each and every cell phone, cellular towers in Gotham when he fought the Joker in The Dark Knight. Sure, it may sound pithy, but that was no small feat especially when you consider that this was Batman when he wasnât even going all out.

Clearly, in the real world, where Marvelâs fantasy fuelled innovations are only plausible that too only in a far off future, Iron Man doesnât make much sense. Thatâs what makes Batman so loveable, that as ludicrous as it may seem, it is grounded in reality and based on technology that is pretty much accessible now. However, given the rapid speed with which technology is being driven forward, especially when it comes to space research, and military developments, 100 or 200 years from now, the picture may be totally different.

Although Batman clearly emerges as the victor now, 100-200 years from now, maybe Iron Man would just wipe the floor with the caped crusader.
