However, fake news is more widespread than just in your family, and more often than not creates panic that is uncalled for. It's important to educate ourselves with how we should be dealing with this situation with the WHO (World Health Organisation) recommended precautionary measures like washing our hands ever so often, distancing ourselves socially, etcetera. In Malaysia, online rumours spread that the novel coronavirus can make you act like a zombie. The Walking Dead kind. The claim that individuals infected with this virus will behave like zombies was then dismissed by the government soon after.

The Russian news Sputnik claims "very smart biologists and pharmacists" in Latvia invented the new COVID-19 coronavirus. Other sources close to the Kremlin said, it was made in the British military's Porton Down facilities. We all know that it was traced to the Wuhan market by now.

He further went on to share the related documents that supported the bizarre claim. However, the papers obviously show that the patent filed was for potential vaccine development that only covered the avian strain of coronavirus that apparently affects birds, a leading publication reported.

Apparently, avoiding cold drinks and ice cream can help stop coronavirus. Some people even think eating spicy food can help protect them from infection. These claims are spreading through WhatsApp as well as as TikTok. Maybe, this is why aunties ask us to not eat ice-cream these days.
