We've said this once in the past and we'll say it again - you don't need more than 8GB of RAM on your phone, at least not yet. But is that stopping phone makers to pack absurd amounts of RAM in your phone? Nope.
In fact, Samsung is said to be launching a new phone which comes with up to 16GB of RAM. 16GB!
Although there's no official confirmation on that just yet, it's coming from a fairly reliable source, so we're inclined to believe that it's true. It looks like, Samsung is not holding back when it comes to packing its phone with a ton of features.
The phone in question here is the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Yes, a long name, but it's supposed to be Samsung's super-premium phone with all the bells and whistles.
According to XDA's Max Weinbach, this phone will have some crazy specs, including 16GB RAM and a 108MP camera.
Here, take a look:
The S20 Ultra 5G is going to keep the SD Card slot. Support for up to 1TB.
It will also be available in 128GB/256GB/512GB and have a 12GB and 16GB RAM option.
108MP main, 48MP 10x optical, 12MP ultra wide.
5000 mAh battery with 45W option fast charge. 0 to 100% in 74 min.
Let's break it down one by one, shall we? First off, he says the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G will have an SD card slot with support for up to 1TB expansion. That's not something new because we've already seen that with the Galaxy Note 10 last year.
If you opt for the high-end variant, then you'll essentially have 1.5TB of storage between the internal storage and the SD card. That's again, probably more than what your PC might have.
And then there's the fact that it might come with 16GB RAM, which is just as insane as it sounds. What are you going to need all that RAM for? Maybe nothing, but it's good for future-proofing?January 5, 2020
As for the optics, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is said to sport a 108MP main camera along with a 48MP 10x optical lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. That's a kickass setup and we think it'll make the phone very versatile, at least when it comes to the camera.
Lastly, he says it'll come with a 5,000 mAh battery with a 45W fast-charge option. With that, the phone will go from 0% to 100% in just over 70 minutes. These are some of the crazy specs, unlike anything we've seen on a new phone.

After seeing all these rumored specs, we really can't wait to check out the phone. It's also worth pointing out that we're not sure if it'll make its way to India along with the other Galaxy S20 variants.
Looks like, we'll just have to wait and watch what happens.
