Rajasthan Royals Use Steve Smith's Milestone To Mercilessly Troll Pakistani Spinner Yasir Shah

Returning to the field after a year-long suspension over the 2018 ball-tampering scandal, Steve Smith won back his fans and left cricket pundits singing praises with a sensational outing in the Ashes series earlier this year. Amid consistent boos from the crowd, the Australian batsman silenced the naysayers by scoring 774 runs, including two hundreds, a double ton and three fifties.

He was once again expected to lead Australia's batting charge when Pakistan came calling for the much-anticipated Test series. But, in a rare failure, Smith couldn't continue his fine run in the 1st Test at Gabba. The right-hander's stay at the crease was cut short at just four runs by Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah who castled his stumps.

It was the seventh time in the longest format that Smith had fallen prey to Shah's spin wizardry. And, the Pakistani spinner, with his antics, ensured that Smith didn't forget that either. Upon Smith's dismissal, Shah held seven fingers in the air to remind the Australian star of his struggles against him.

Bowlers who have dismissed Steve Smith the most times in Test cricket:

In the second Test, Smith once again failed to convert his start before being sent back into the hut for 36 runs, this time by Shaheen Afridi. But, despite his short outing, Smith still managed to shatter the 73-year-old record of English great Wally Hammond and became the fastest batsman to reach 7,000 runs in Test cricket.

While Hammond took 131 innings to reach the milestone, Smith got there in his 126th Test innings. His achievement drew plaudits from every corner of the globe, with the fans and pundits singing his praise on social media. But, amid all the plaudits, Rajasthan Royals used the opportunity to troll Pakistan's Shah with a hilarious tweet.

My 7 is bigger than yours ââ ð#AusvPak | #HallaBol | #RoyalsFamily pic.twitter.com/S9NtYpt4AC

Rajasthan Royals, who have acquired the services of Smith in the Indian Premier League, took to Twitter and shared a collage of Smith and Shah where both the cricketers were seen holding fingers in the air. But, it was the caption of the picture stole the show and would have probably left Shah red-faced. "My 7 is bigger than yours," Royalsâ tweet read.

The hilarious dig by Royals left cricket fans in splits, garnering all sorts of responses on social media.
