The Indian economy is currently dealing with a lot of issues that are hampering the personal and the overall growth of the country as a whole. As if breathing in this pollution was not enough for us, the economic slowdown lately has rung a lot of alarm bells and demands immediate attention. After various accusations and fingers being pointed in her way, current finance minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman recently addressed the parliament arguing that while the GDP growth was slow, the country was far from slipping into recession for now. However, the weird part of the speech was that not many members of the parliament were in attendance and the few who did attend, seemed lost in thoughts. In fact, minister of skill development, Mr. Mahender Nath Pandey dozed off in the middle of her speech and as luck would have it, since he was seated right behind her, this clip has gone viral and has become a part of today's meme fest.
@nsitharaman madam you are speaking on fire ð¥on economic situation, wer as your colleague in back feels lori and sleeping. It feels real disgusting watching them behind on @rajyasabhatv
Good to see @ianuragthakur ji noticed and waked him up finally ðð pic.twitter.com/Co1RT0PaR0
While it looks funny to some, it's abysmal that our leaders have this beautiful audacity to completely ignore the matters at hand. The skills of the skill development minister has not appealed to the public.
Sleeping skills of Skill Development Minister of India, Mahendra Nath Pandey.
Some say it was the impact of the speech of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
What a Seriousness on economic slowdown in the country. #ModiHaiToMumkinhai #Parliamenthttps://t.co/Bm7ga6NVXQ

When will this non-chalance end for us, and when will our leaders, who promise the moon and the stars, keep basic promises like running the country decently and not playing charades as they continue passing the blame around? The employment rate is insanely low and the GDP growth has been the worst in seven years but our FM says all is well, so just keep your hand on your heart and take a cue, and probably take a nap.
