Ah, how rare are those days when people just forget whatever ugly past they've shared throughout the years and have a good time!
On Wednesday, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri shared an image from his Twitter handle which showed him having a good time with the current batting coach of the team, Vikram Rathour and the former head coach and all-time great, Anil Kumble.November 27, 2019
“Great to catch up with one of India's greatest - @anilkumble1074,” he wrote in the caption.
But the fans of the Indian cricket team and those of Anil Kumble aren't willing to let bygones be bygones, especially with all the drama that has surrounded the position of the head of the coaching staff for the Men in Blue in the past half-decade.
The question is whether the feeling was mutual. Guess not— I Love Mithunda (@ilovemithunda) November 27, 2019

Back in 2018, Anil Kumble was forced to resign from his job as the head coach and the position was virtually awarded to Ravi Shastri because that's what the Indian skipper Virat Kohli wanted, according to the statement made by Committee of Administrators member Diana Edulji at the time.

"Virat did not accede to Kumble continuing in spite of CAC saying so then why not these two players get what they feel is best for the team," Edulji had written to Vinod Rai, who spearheaded the CoA, in an email.
A lot has happened since then. The facade of a fair process of selecting the Indian head coach took place once again earlier this year. Many known and well reputed names applied for the job, “fresh applications” were considered but the final result stayed the same.
It was Ravi Shastri for the win once again.
The current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly also showed his reservations about the reselection of Shastri as the head coach and thought he was good enough to get the job considering the kind of people who'd put forward their names.
Coming back to the post shared by Shastri, the two seemed to have let go of their past and actually having a good time. Regardless of the politics that goes inside the Indian cricket board, the fact remains that both Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri have been great players to represent their country in international matches and tournaments and for that, we will always be grateful to them.
