It's hard to fathom what materialistic things really gets your boat humming when you are someone like Jackie Chan. With a film career spanning well over 60 years, and film credits so vast that you literally can't be bothered to count (last someone did, they stopped after 153), there can't be a whole lot of things that excite you and make you go, 'I want one'.

Still, that does not mean that your fans stop trying to impress you. And if the reports are true, then it seems that the Swiss luxury watchmakers are his biggest fans, for they not only developed a series of watches honouring the legendary martial artist and actor, they made a one-off just for him, that bears his name, and gifted it to him.

First, the watch that “commoners” can actually buy, and before we begin, there is a pretty good reason why the word commoners has quotation marks around it. We'll get to that later.

Apart from the fact that the face of the watch is an artistic masterpiece par none, the engine or the calibre of the watch is quintessentially Richard Mille and has all sorts of complications that horologists all over the world will love.

What really makes the watch, called the RM 57-03 Sapphire Dragon, really drool-worthy, is the construction and the aesthetics of the watch. The dragon on the face of the watch that you see is painstakingly hand-carved from chunks of gold and sapphire. Furthermore, an even special variant of the watch comes with a sapphire case.

Apparently, only 55 of these will be made, of which, 5 will be in the sapphire case. The watches are available only in Asia and will start from $950,000. Yes, you read that right. The watch will retail from $950,000 that's well over Rs 6.8 crore, on top of which you'll have to pay some really hefty taxes and import duties if you're planning on buying one.

Coming to the piece that Jackie Chan got as a gift, his particular Sapphire Dragon has an additional motif, that of a phoenix. For this iteration of the watch, Richard Mille has used rose gold, and a casing made from the highest grade of titanium. So special is the one-off watch, that they have named it the RM 57-01 Jackie Chan.

Furthermore, where the regular version of the watch, the RM 57-03 has painted accents, such as the tongue and the eyes ruby red, and has made the body of the dragon using sapphire crystals, the Jackie Chan version does away with all that. Instead, the motifs are all rose gold, and the embellishments are made of pink rubies.

Although the price for the particular piece that Jackie is wearing is almost impossible to find out, given that it's a one-off, expert horologists estimate that the piece he is wearing should be well over $1.7 million. That's just shy of Rs 13 Crore. For that price, you can buy one Rolls Royce Phantom. Or better yet, TWO Rolls Royce Ghosts.

Now that's what stardom gets you. Taking notes, Bollywood?
