A Hairstylist can make or break your hairstyle for the next few weeks. And unlike returning clothes to a store if the size is wrong, hair is one thing that unfortunately you can't grow back (instantly) once it's cut. This makes it all the more important to have a good hairstylist.

Lucullan studios is a luxury hair salon that pioneers in an experiential set of grooming services that are delivered by highly trained professionals. They had arranged a week of hair grooming & styling by Dar London.
So, we got to speak to celebrity hairstylist Dar who has styled actors like Bradley Cooper and John Travolta and also politicians like Imran Khan.

A Celebrity Hairstylist Talks About Why Men's Haircuts Are Cheaper(c) Dar Studios

Q. What is it like styling celebrities like Bradley Cooper or politicians like Imran Khan?
It is important for me to take into account how the client feels. My job essentially is to make the client look good. So, in the case of Imran Khan, I've styled him all my life. In fact, I gave him the Playboy look. So when you're styling someone like him, you've to take into account the person's life, for example for Imran, I had to consider the fact that his hairstyle had to be easy to maintain due to the fact that he would spend hours on the field. And for actors like Bradley Cooper, I went by the script of the role, the character's personality, these variables largely determine the look of the character.

Q. How do you determine the hairstyle of the character?
As I said, I usually go by the script and make them look good for the specific role, and by the script, I mean if they're a good person or a bad person in the narrative. So, for instance, a housewife who loves looking after herself has to have a hairstyle on-point. A businessman has to look sharp, so their respective lifestyles largely determine how I work with their hair.

Q. What's the gender ratio amongst your clients?
So, I live in London and only in the last two years, I have noticed men's salons on almost every street in London, which is great. But for me, I have more female clients than male.

Q. Why is it that men's haircuts are cheaper than that of women?
Honestly, I think that is because men have to get a haircut every three weeks and comparatively women's haircut last longer. But personally,  I charge 100 pounds for men and 200 pounds for women although I put in equal effort for both.

Q. What are the five must-have products for men according to you?
It would definitely be a non-sulfur shampoo, conditioner, an occasional hair mask for dry hair and hair wax and gel for styling the hair.
