While recently addressing a rally in Darjeeling, Amit Shah said that if the BJP was brought to power again in the 2019 polls, they will ensure the National Register of Citizens(NRC) is put in place across the country and followed it up with a rather controversial comment.
He basically said that all 'infiltrators' will be removed from India, with a few exceptions, that are 'Buddha, Hindu, and Sikhs'.April 11, 2019
As soon as this particular quote was tweeted by the official Twitter account of BJP, a lot of people disapproved the casual promotion of what's basically ethnic cleansing and are trying to remind everyone the meaning of secularism.
The comment has caused an uproar on the website and almost all the replies are against it.
have u ever heard "india is a secular nation" ?? from what you've tweeted i'm guessing no.— sanjana with luvð§ð½âï¸ • ia (@joonsinfinity) April 11, 2019
People did not like it at all.
Kindly don't use Sikhs for your votes....we will be happy if you remove "sikhs" as well from your tweet....muslims are our brothers as much as Hindus or other religions....— Avtar Singh (@AvtarSi18298015) April 11, 2019
A little comic relief came in the form of people being concerned about the well being of Smriti Irani's husband.
@smritiirani what to do now, Zubin is Parasi and Parasi's are not in list....so any plan of migration!— SKS (@shail_gyani) April 11, 2019
Back to serious stuff.
just openly advocating ethnic cleansing https://t.co/IwsI7Bu5o7— âï¸ (@brownaandlovely) April 11, 2019
Not just their account, that's the party president at a public rally https://t.co/D2LDeGjoF6— Raghav Chopra (@AarSee) April 11, 2019
What will you do to Muslims?
Had Dr. APJ Kalam been alive today you would have sent him to Pakistan I guess.
Wow and you expect us to vote for you.
Shame on you
At this point you might as well say we hate all Muslims. Muslims born here there's very little we can do about it sadly. Rest all we see as 'termites' so we'll get them deported or killed. Running on an open platform of bigotry has been never been this far reaching. SHAME— Siddarth (@ojay_34) April 11, 2019
Someone tell them the meaning, please.
While at it, u might as well remove the word 'secular' from the constitution! That word has lost its sanctity anyway! ð¤¦ð»â︗ Anuradha ð¯+âï¸ (@ann_ac22) April 11, 2019
A lot of people just want to remove them first.
India lets remove them first https://t.co/jas752Uvdj— Gurmehar Kaur (@mehartweets) April 11, 2019
