‘Glad Tim Paine’s Not In Pakistan Team’, Kamran Akmal On Aussie’s Disappointing Game In Sydney

The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground turned out to be a nightmare outing for Australian cricket captain Tim Paine, who’s being questioned on merit for leading such a prestigious squad in red-ball cricket.

Not being able to be of much value to the Australian batting lineup at the SCG, Paine’s trash-talking skills while behind the stumps dragged him into a lot of trouble, especially when he failed to glove a simple catch to dismiss Hanuma Vihari from the strike.

Paine to Ashwin
I can’t wait to get you to the Gabba.
Just like you want to get to India? Maybe your last series.
Are you a selector here as well? At least my teammates like me,dickhead. (Wade’s) got more Indian friends than you. Even your teammates think you’re a goose. #INDvAUS

Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar had opined that Paine must be removed from the captain’s spot at the end of the series.

And now, it is Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal who’s joining the bandwagon and letting his thoughts on the Australian flow freely.

“I am glad that Pakistan wasn’t playing there and he [Tim Paine] wasn’t in a Pakistan team or else they would have said so many things about him [Tim Paine],” Akmal said in a YouTube video.

“Now, I will see what will be said by those people who have spoken about me at length. It was an interesting Test and the Australian side made a lot of efforts. They did not lose hope anywhere in the match that they could not win. This fighting attitude was their greatest asset,” he added.

Reliving the moment when Paine had a very small but significant war of words with Ravichandran Ashwin and then went on to drop Vihari, Akmal said that very well could have been the final nail in the coffin for the Men in Blue but of course the Aussie failed to deliver.

“Australia would have been celebrating a win if they had taken their catches. This did not happen, however. The fielding did not allow this to happen. You can have good and bad days on the field. The speciality of the Australian side is that they do not make many mistakes. They made all their mistakes in a single day. Tim Paine had a very bad outing. This happens. Every keeper drops catches but what can we say,” concluded Akmal.
