It has been a couple of days since the U19 World Cup final between India and Bangladesh came to an end on a rather disappointing note. Not because of the fact that our boys failed to win the trophy for the second consecutive time but because of the physical altercations that took place just moments after Bangladesh batsman Rakibul Hasan chipped the ball over mid-wicket for a single to make his side win their maiden U19 title.

Players from both sides are being called out for their behaviour, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said that they will look into the integrities of the fight and eventually the captains of the two sides commented on the issue as well.
While Indiaâs Priyam Garg cried foul and said that the reaction of the Bangladeshi players was âdirtyâ, a humble Akbar Ali owned up to the mistake on behalf of his teammates and apologised for their deeds.
âAs a youngster, it shouldnât happen. In any position, in any manner, we have to show the respect to the opponent, we should have respect for the game. Cricket is known for being a gentlemanâs game. So Iâll say, Iâll be sorry for my team,â Ali was quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
The Bangladeshi captain, who is also a Wasim Jaffer devout, looked like a completely different player on the field than the rest of the crowd. While his teammates and opponents were getting into all kinds of trouble, abusing, trash-taking, getting in each otherâs faces, Ali kept his cool and did whatever he had to, to see his team lift that trophy.

According to a leading Bangladeshi daily âProthom Aloâ, Ali lost his sister Khadija Khatun while giving birth to twins. She was the youngest of the three siblings he had and was one of the greatest supporters of the cricketerâs dreams.
Obviously, Akbar was really close to her and was heavily affected by hearing the news. On the other hand, it also spurred him to win the trophy even more.

Akbar Ali the hero and man of the match! #U19CWCFinal pic.twitter.com/J4vS18WKCr â Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad) February 9, 2020According to the reports, his family kept the horrible news from Ali as they didnât want to divert his attention but the cricketer managed to learn about it through one of his siblings anyway.
"Akbar was closest to his sister. She loved Akbar a lot," Akbar's father was quoted as saying by Prothom Alo.
"We did not want to inform him at first. He then called after the Pakistan match and questioned his brother why he was not kept in the loop. I did not have the courage to talk to him. I donât know what to say.â
As a fan of the Indian cricket team, I hope our younger players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi make it big at the international level, but to hear the stories of athletes playing and winning for their loved ones just takes you beyond the rules of competition and makes you want to cheer for the other guys as well.

Despite the unnecessary drama that took place during the finishing moments of the ICC U19 World Cup Final, the young Bangladesh side looked like a team of extremely professional athletes who knew what they were doing on the field.
They had the perfect bowling plan and they followed it to a tee. They knew which buttons to push to get a strong reaction out of the Indian side, they knew what type of a ball would get them a wicket and they knew how to manage themselves while chasing the minimalistic score under immense pressure.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Young Tigersâ game was their ability to calmly play one delivery after another. Leave the balls that they thought were dangerous and optimise on the one that were bad. Since the total to be chased wasnât big, they also had the luxury to take things slow, but for an U19 team to bat with such maturity and not give into the temptations of slamming big shots, is a blessing in itself.
The patience in the eyes of the Bangladeshi skipper Akbar Ali, who was the anchor of the team in the second innings, looks familiar. His poise while defending the wicket-taking deliveries and rotating strikes with his partner was something Indian fans had seen a long time ago, in a well-known face, former Indian and Mumbai opener, Wasim Jaffer.
Turns out, quite a few players of this history-creating squad, including Ali and Shahdat Hossain (who got dismissed just in the final against India and ended the tournament at a staggering average of 131) have sought training under the tutelage of Jaffer, who was appointed as the batting coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)âs performance academy in Mirpur in 2019.
One of those cricketers who is aging like fine wine, Jaffer has played domestic-level cricket for about 25 years now. He has won ten Ranji titles now, eight of which came with Mumbai and two with Vidarbha and is the highest-ever run-scorer of the tournament.

But not too long ago, not even a single domestic cricket team was willing to have him onboard, despite the athleteâs willingness to play for free. Marred by ill-timed injuries and bad-form, Jaffer received nothing but bad news from whichever team he approached.
It was only after former Mumbai coach Chandrakant Pandit was appointed as Vidarbha coach that the got to play for the team once again and even win two back to back titles with them.
And while that was the story from a couple of years ago, Jafferâs contribution to international cricket continues to stay relevant thanks to the U19 Bangladesh side.
In an interview with Telegraph India, Jaffer spoke highly of the squad and the skipper:
âHe (Ali) was very proactive while India were batting and led the team very well in this final. Akbar has also led Bangladeshâs U-14 and U-16 teams. He has, in fact, spent a lot of time captaining these teams.
âSo with time, you do improve and the more you captain, the more you learn. His astuteness actually stood out,â he said.
âItâs a very talented group. Apart from Akbar, Shahadat Hossain was also with me. So was Prantik (Nawrose Nabil).
âI have seen most of them closely⦠They outplayed most of the teams. India were the favourites to win the final, but they outshone them too,â Jaffer said.
Wafferâs story and his work with a country which hadnât seen a lot of success during ICC tournaments in the past only goes on to show that legends like the former red-ball opener of the country should never be overlooked.
Even then, our heart goes out to our young cricketers like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi, who did everything to the best of their abilities to see their country retain the title, the competition was elite and the boys truly played well. View the full article
The Academy Awards delighted the audience by bringing back artists such as Eminem for a grand performance on âLose Yourselfâ. But wait, it did not end there.
Just when Eminem's performance ended, which by the way was met with a lot of raised eyebrows and people were not too sure how to react to it, Oscars introduced us to a star that the world needs to recognise. There was Indian-American rapper Utkarsh Ambudkar, 36 years old, who surprised the audience after Eminemâs performance and got to perform his own rap in front of the world.
Check out his performance here-
However, Ambudkar has been a part of the rapping industry for more than 16 years now. He completed his acting program at New York University's Tisch School of Arts in 2004 but never became an actor as he was always too busy rapping. He spent most of his nights freestyling in New York clubs and deep down in his heart, he always wanted to become more of a rapper than an actor.
His talent came to light when he was offered to join the improv-rap troupe "Freestyle Love Supreme". And then later in 2019 he joined the troupe on Broadway.
Although it might sound easy, it wasn't a cakewalk for Ambudkar. He was initially offered to play the role of Aaron Burr in Miranda's Hamilton.

The India versus Bangladesh U19 World Cup final turned out to be a lot more than just another 50-over match between two Asian countries for the most glorious recognition an Under-19 team could manage to win.
After the weather gave the players and fans of the two teams a good scare as it rained for two days continuously at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, the match commenced with a low-scoring start by the Indian openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyaansh Saxena.
However, things soon took a turn for the worse when the Bangladeshi bowling attack began to irk Priyam Gargâs batsmen with some cheeky trash talking in between overs and after almost every other delivery.

The situation began to heat up and even though Jaiswal tried his best to stay calm under the immense pressure, India kept losing wickets on the other side. The Young Tigersâ plan to keep up with the sledging alongside some excellent show with the ball finally worked as the Boys in Blue were wrapped up at a minimal score of 177.
Despite a lot of ups and downs in the second half of the match and the rains disrupting the match for a bit as well, the Bangladesh batting order behind and heroic knock of Parvez Hossain Emon and skipper Akhbar Ali, was able to take home their maiden U19 trophy.

And even though it was one of the biggest matches of the young careers of all the players present on the field, it was the officials who arguably had the most difficult job throughout the day.
On-field umpires Sam Nogajski and Adrian Holdstock found themselves to be babysitting the players from both sides with the hopes of maintaining the spirit of the game. While bowlers like Shoriful Islam and Ravi Bishnoi forgot about the gameâs âbeing gentleâ part and abused the batsmen on strike throughout their spells, the officials had to keep their calm and deal with them politely, given the gravity of the situation.
Character separates the big -match player and just a player.Ravi Bishnoi pic.twitter.com/3UNmITofpM â Anish dalavi (@Anishdalavi14) February 9, 2020
Then there were times when the Indian skipper put Jaiswal and Saxena at silly point and short leg, who kept ganging up on the batsmen and tried to intimidate them. Holdstock had to ask them not to do that, with a gentle smile on his face.
#INDvBAN Wow ..few minutes ago pressure was on india and now silly point and short leg!! well done #bishnoi ð®ð³.. #U19WorldCup #U19CWCFinal â INCOGNITO (@analonda69) February 9, 2020
The pressure of staying focused and look for the minutest of details during all the appeals India made during the second innings, especially during Bishnoiâs overs was also something they had to deal with for over three hours as well.
As far as the third umpire, Ravindra Wimalasiri is concerned, he found himself to be in a unique predicament when he did not have to decide IF a batsman was out but WHO was out.
Late during Indiaâs batting innings, the on-field umpires sent a decision upstairs to Wimalasiri to see who amongst Dhruv Jurel and Atharva Ankolekar was out as both of them ran towards the same side of the pitch and crossed the crease almost at the same time. Contrary to the commentatorsâ opinion, the third umpire announced that it was Jurel who had to head towards the pavilion.
Atharva Ankolekar and Dhruv Jurel run out was a bizarre incident in Cricket history ever in ICC U19 World Cup 2020. #DhruvJurel #AtharvaAnkolekar #U19WC #U19WorldCup #U19WorldCup2020 pic.twitter.com/3uWrkDQLfn â Vikash Gaur (@thevikashgaur) February 9, 2020
As if all of this was not enough, the evening ended on a rather shameful note when a couple of players from either side got in a physical altercation and started pushing and shoving each other only to be separated by the officials.
If you were a spectator, youâd think that the umpires were trying to get involved in everything and were micromanaging them instead of letting the boys play their game, but in retrospect I have some new found respect for the way they managed things on the field while maintaining the flow of the game. Bill Gates is no longer the world's richest man. He's currently ranked the worldâs second-richest man with a $118 billion fortune. That, in case you can't figure out, is still a ton of money, plenty to afford a luxury Superyacht.
Bill Gates, 64, is just an ordinary holidaymaker who has not previously owned a yacht. He used to rent them out whenever he wanted to get a breath of fresh air on the sea. But he now decided to invest in a one-of-a-kind Yacht that's worth more any of us can even imagine.
Here are a few things to know about Bill Gates' new purchase, the Aqua Ship -
The Aqua ship is truly one of the luxurious transport that I've ever seen. It's both beautiful and functional at the same time, with hardly anything to complain about. Speaking about the yacht, the marine designer Sander Sinot said, "For the development of Aqua we took inspiration from the lifestyle of a discerning, forward-looking owner, the fluid versatility of water and cutting-edge technology, to combine this in a superyacht with truly innovative features."
Aqua isn't expected to hit the shores until 2024 and Bill Gates is the first one to order the vessel that's estimated to cost a whopping $644m i.e roughly Rs 4,600 crores. Well, Bill Gates used to rent out Yachts worth $300m, so if anything this is only going to save him money in the long run. Oh, and it's cheaper what India is spending on the custom jets for the President and the PM. Just saying.

The 92nd Academy Awards took place in Los Angeles with people involved in the making of films from scratch, and stepping out on the red carpet at the city's Dolby Theatre.
While the red carpet is a space where you can spot your favourite actors and directors, it's also quickly evolving into a platform where people can express their emotions and identities. In the case of Spike Lee, he paid homage to Kobe with a blazer that was inspired by Kobe's Lakers jersey. Joaquin Phoenix has been wearing the same Stella McCartney suit to most red carpets including this one and Billy Porter wore a gown inspired by the Kensington Palace to the Awards.
But the red carpet is also popular for classic tailoring that is exemplified through the fine suits that we see on actors each year. While this year's nominees including Joker's Joaquin Phoenix, Marriage Story's Adam Driver and Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood's Brad Pitt and Little Women's Timothee Chalamet, it was their outfits on the red carpet that made an impact.
Although the Oscars have a reputation for playing it safe and keeping things formal, some of these year's best-dressed guys really switched things up.
Joaquin Phoenix created history at the 92nd Academy Awards as his win for the âbest Oscarâ is not a mere win for an actor who truly deserved it but itâs a win for an entire planet of fans who believed in a man and rooted for him with all their heart. It is similar to a prayer being chanted and being put out in the universe and the universe answering it back for all of us. So yes, ladies and gentleman, our Joker took one for the team and beautifully accepted the Oscar for his par excellence job in that movie that will go down in History.

Cameo roles in both the MCU and Star Wars franchise, direction/writing credits for the fan-favourite Thor: Ragnarok and indie-film chops with What We Do In The Shadows - everyone loves Taika Waititi, and thereâs no shortage of reasons for the quirky âZealanderâs popularity in recent years.
