Stop Blindly Trusting Ripped Fitness Trainers & Do Your Research First

With the rise in the popular concept of looking ripped, the demand for fitness professionals has also increased ten folds. This has created a unique problem where every Tom, Dick and Harry who has been to the gym for 6 months and stuck needles in his veins to look good, wants to portray himself as a fitness professional to earn a quick buck. A particular profession in the fitness industry that has seen a rise in pretenders masquerading as professionals is personal training. This makes it very difficult for a novice to choose a good personal trainer. © Unsplash There is a common misconception about what makes a good personal trainer: The more ripped the trainer, the more knowledge they possess! It's quite common for people to end up believing that the best-looking people on the gym floor or social media are the most knowledgeable/qualified when it comes to training and nutrition. Don't get me wrong, sometimes the most ripped person can be the most knowledgeable one too, but in most cases, they're not.  Think about it, was Ramakant Achrakar a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar? But it is a well-established fact that he was instrumental in the development of arguably the best batsman ever. © ICC Many players who are very good at their game turn out to be really bad when it comes to coaching and some who might not even play, turn out to be really good coaches, Jose Mourinho being the prime example here. Good coaches are good because they understand the art and science of coaching and communicate in a way that their students/athletes can use to their benefit. The same thing can be said for trainers and coaches. Another aspect to consider here is that the fittest and leanest people are not fit and lean because they have the most knowledge and know how when it comes to fitness and nutrition. © Unsplash They are that way because they live, breathe, eat and shit bodybuilding and fitness. They have created, designed and organised their lives around going to the gym, meal prepping and rest and recovery. So, if you are looking for inspiration and motivation, they are the best resources you can go to but if you looking to fit fitness into your lifestyle and not fit your lifestyle around fitness, they are not what you should be looking for, as they're often not so great to rely on for the intellectual aspects of training. For example, a personal trainer who has put in time and effort to learn the principles of biomechanics, physiology and has gone through the research on individualizing your training program according to your lifestyle, needs and preferences, will always have an upper hand on someone who has just been to the gym and built his own physique. Always consider that someone who spends most of their time in the gym training or cooking for themselves will always have less time to spend on learning the technical and tactical aspects of programming necessary to make that person qualified to provide reliable advice and information to other people. © Unsplash Long story short, these are the qualities that you should be looking for the next time you look for a personal trainer:  1. Check whether the trainer has been certified from a reputed institution or not. 2. Check whether the trainer assesses you and then plans your training schedule or he plans to directly put you on a cookie cutter program. 3. Check the level of professionalism your trainer brings to the table in the beginning and look for qualities such as punctuality, patience and communication skills. The Redemption Of Steve Harrington From 'Stranger Things': What Do We Learn From It?

Resident fashion expert. Mother hen. Best babysitter in town! The guy with insane nail-studded baseball bat-handling skills. Who am I talking about? Steve Harrington, of course. © Netflix But this wasn't always the case, was it? The first time I saw Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) on 'Stranger Things', I hated him with the intensity of a thousand exploding suns.  Let me elaborate.  I filed him in the category of those abominably rude and annoying people who push others around in order to get their way, and  they bully others to establish their “coolness”. He was that entitled jock in high school; with tall hair (thanks to the Farrah Fawcett hairspray) and money to throw around, who thought that the school was his playground. Narcissistic with a touch of dumbness; the quintessential heartbreaker. And he had all the attributes of the classic bully/fuckboy: being mean to others for no apparent reason, overly obsessed with his hair, a couple of hangers-on, pothead friends (Tommy and Carol) who do more harm than good and who egg him to be meaner. via GIPHY Not to mention his abominable treatment of Nancy (Natalia Dyer), who he thought should thank her lucky stars to be dating him. (He was quite the annoying boyfriend.) He wanted to coerce her into saying “Yes” for things she didn't want to do. via GIPHY He was mean to Nancy's best friend, Barb, (who in hindsight wasn't very nice to Steve) because she wasn't the epitome of cool, something he thought himself to be. © Netflix In short, he was the typical 80s guy from any John Hughes movie; who was not the hero. © Netflix Steve's redemption arc is one of the most entertaining parts of 'Stranger Things'. Also, it is dealt with such poignancy that you are bound to love him even if you didn't think much of him first. In the initial episodes of Season 1, I had dismissed him as one of those secondary characters who gets eaten up first when the monsters strike. via GIPHY Come Season 2, I was in for a pleasant shock. I couldn't have imagined that this guy who seemed good-for-nothing would become one of my favourite characters in the series. Yes, one of his redeeming qualities in Season 1 was his love for Nancy, but his behaviour told another story. via GIPHY Initially, he starts the relationship just to get in her pants; a feat he had accomplished earlier with a number of girls. But to be fair to him, when Nancy says “no”, he respects her decision and doesn't start wallowing or attempt to manipulate her. © Netflix When Barb goes missing, he tries to cheer her up, but mostly for his own sake. Then, he is quite flippant about it which leads to his breakup with Nancy (Bullshit, Bullshit, Bullshit). But by this time, Steve has already made a soft spot in our hearts. What Makes His Redemption So Appealing? Steve mirrors our innermost human qualities. He jumps to conclusions at the slightest provocation and is a dick to Jonathan (whose creepy nature cannot be condoned). Who of us can say that they never, ever acted on an impulse and found out they were wrong? He tries to salvage Nancy's honour but his way of doing that is extremely wrong, he ends up looking like a douche. © Netflix From Steve' s perspective, it seems like he is the one doing all the work: coaxing Nancy to loosen up, trying to cheer her up when she's down. He seems to want to do everything right, but it ends up becoming a mess, like the dinner with Barb's parents. via GIPHY One of his most relatable qualities is the way he deals with conflicting choices: He keeps teetering between good and bad; a dilemma we are faced with every now and then. He slut-shames Nancy when he thinks that she is hooking up with Jonathan (infamously putting graffiti on the theatre: “Nancy the Slut Wheeler”) but when he realizes his folly, he makes amends for it. The dejection and realization is apparent in his eyes when he takes the scrubber from the theatre worker and starts rubbing the words off. Steve's redemption is likeable because he makes a choice, willingly. He chooses to do the right thing, when he necessarily does not have to. He could have easily left Nancy and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) to their fates in Season 1, but he comes back to fight with them. © Netflix Moreover, he repents for his sins and asks for clemency without anything in return. In Season 2, this fact is even more established when he makes it a point to protect the “shitheads” when he can just go the other way and be safe. © Netflix Though the Duffer Brothers had been leading us to like Steve more and more with each passing episode, it was done in such a brilliant and surreptitious way that it caught us off-guard when the full force was felt in Season 2. Be it his somewhat goofy ways, which become clearer in Season 2 or his hair which started off as a sign of his narcissism and then morphed into a symbol for his friendship with Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve became an endearing character. © Netflix And we could do nothing but feel terrible when he got beaten up season after season; by Jonathan, by Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and who knows next. (Judging by the Season 3 trailer, it'll happen in July as well). What started off as a seemingly unkind and depraved character turned out to be the anti-hero of the series. Not only that, this role reversal places him in the august company: Loki, Jaime Lannister, Han Solo to name a few. A major chunk of Season 2 goes into redefining Steve's character (and all for the better); he seems to be the only other character to be going through hell excluding Will (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). And the selection is diverse: from being dumped by the love of his life for a “nerd”, to getting beaten up by the new guy, to being manipulated into putting his life in danger by a bunch of teens, and the final nail in the coffin: giving out his beauty secrets (which hurts the most :P ). © Pinterest For the audience, this saga leads to acknowledging that he has other roles than just being the douchebag. He rises above his one-dimensional role; we see him as a brother figure to Dustin, giving out girl advice and genuinely caring for him. via GIPHY We get to see the parallels in the two characters; unrequited love for the person they can't have. What also accelerates their bond is that they are the outcasts of the group; everyone else seems to be carrying on with their lives while these two are left out. And that is what makes their relationship ever more beautiful and wholesome. They both make such a great team! So pure! © Netflix He is a father figure to Dustin (and the group) and sticks up for him, because he now knows how it feels to be ostracized.  When he fights (abysmally) with Billy, even though knowing he is no match to him (I mean the guy nonchalantly smokes while lifting dumbbells), it makes him more adorable. His apparent kookiness serves as comedic relief; his abominable essay-writing skills, he becomes the butt of jokes (like the children admonishing his lack of fighting skills) or his limited knowledge of history, especially Germans. His reaction is hilarious when he wakes up to find himself in a car which has been hijacked by the kids. Even in his nearly indisposed state, he astonishes us by being the first one to enter the subterranean hellhole, because he has been tasked to “keep them safe”. Billy acts as a wake-up call to Steve. © Netflix In the start, Steve is quite narrow-minded and overly engrossed in himself, hardly caring for anyone. When Billy comes into the picture and gives him a taste of his own medicine, he gets to see himself in the “other guy”. via GIPHY The bully gets bullied. Billy is a reflection of Steve; be it the hair, the 80s mullet, the cavalier attitude or his penchant for sports and girls. via GIPHY He comes after for everything what Steve holds dear: his jock status, his captaincy, his ego, and his masculinity. (Side note: Billy seems to be quite attracted to Steve. Why do I think there's a love story a-brewing there? :P ) © Pinterest Sometimes, we do not see ourselves clearly and thus, are unaware of our own faults. Until someone else points it out to us, we remain ignorant. Steve Harrington holds a mirror to us; to the inner demons we face and the ones we run away from. And the ones we hide. Steve Harrington shows us that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. He is a cautionary tale; a personification of the fact that we shouldn't bind people into stereotypes. Everyone is capable of change. No one is black or white, we are all shades of grey. And remember, that while using the Farah Fawcett Hair Spray, always apply it on damp hair. Not wet. Damp! (Till then, let's hope Steve survives Season 3) via GIPHY

A Stolen Brain & Nobel Prize For Divorce Settlement, Here's More On Einstein's Curious Life

Known as one of the dominating figures on the modern scientific world, Albert Einstein changed the course of science with his groundbreaking work in the field. To this day, he is considered as nothing less than a genius, in every sense of the world. However, there are a few curious facts about the towering genius of 20th century that not many people know of. Find out more about Einstein's incredible life here. © Twitter 1. Einstein gave away his Nobel Prize as divorce settlement. Einstein married Mileva Maricis early 1900s. However, after their marriage hit the rocks in 1910 the couple got divorced in 1919. During this time, Einstein promised to hand over whatever money he might receive from the Nobel Prize. After he won the prize in 1922 for his work of photoelectric effect, he offered the prize money to her. © Twitter 2. A solar eclipse made Einstein famous. When Einstein published his theory of general relativity in 1915, which talked about gravitational fields causing distortions in the fabric of space and time, it became a huge controversy. Finally in 1919, a total solar eclipse provided the proper conditions to test the theory and Einstein was proved right. Einstein became an overnight celebrity. © Twitter 3. Einstein was spied upon by the FBI for years. After Einstein moved to the US from Berlin after Hitler's rise to power in 1933, he came under the FBI's radar for his support for pacifist, civil rights and left-wing causes. FBI launched a 24-hour surveillance that stretched over 22 years. The FBI wished to prove that he was a Soveit spy. By the time Einstein dies, his FBI file comprised of 1800 pages of data. © Twitter 4. Einstein's brain was stolen upon his death. After Einstein died in 1955 from an abdominal aortic aneurysm, Princeton pathologist Thomas Harvey removed his brain during regular autopsy and kept it with an aim to unlock the secrets of his genius. After getting necessary approvals, he cut Einstein's brain into pieces and sent them around the world for research. The most controversial research paper claimed that Einstein had unusual folds on his parietal lobe, a part of the brain associated with mathematical and spatial ability.

Apple's Smart Battery Case Makes The iPhone Last For 2 Days & Is The Best Accessory One Can Get

Apple has updated its line of smart battery cases for the current generation on iPhones and the Cupertino giant has not only refined them but made them work in the favour of iPhones. The iPhone XR already has an impressive battery life and with the addition of the new Smart Battery Case, we were astonished as to how many hours our iPhones lasted. We got the smart battery case for the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR and couldn't be happier with its performance. The new iPhone Smart Battery Case costs Rs 11,900 in India and here's our detailed analysis to let you know why it's worth it.  How Does It Look? © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple follows a similar design ethos as the original Smart Battery Case. However, there are a few design features that have changed from before. It has the same soft silicone material as the normal covers but has changed ergonomically. It has micro-fibre in the inside so that it keeps your iPhone clean and now has a light that lights up when you charge the case separately. The hump at the back is now evenly distributed and extends to the bottom of the case. At the front, Apple has also removed the chin so that you can now use gestures easily to navigate on your iPhone. The top end of the Smart Battery Case is bendable which you use to slip in your iPhone. Do make sure that you slide in the phone rather than popping it in as you can damage the lightning port inside the cover.  Having said that the Smart Battery Case is refined ergonomically, the case does make your phone heavier. It's also quite thick which can be an issue for people who like to wear tight fitted jeans/bottoms.  How Does It Work  © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Smart Battery Case is integrated with iOS and you can see the status of your battery on the lock screen or on the battery widget. The Smart Battery Case has a dedicated Lightning port which means you can charge the case and iPhone at the same time. The case offers Lightning Passthrough which makes it easier to charge both devices at the same time. You should note that it will charge the iPhone first and then the Smart Battery Case. You can even fast charge both devices as the Smart Battery Case also supports USB-PD (power delivery). You will need Apple's fast charger and USB-C to lightning cable in order for this to work.  © Apple You can even charge both the case and the iPhone wirelessly as it works almost the same as it does via the wall charger. The iPhone will get the priority and then it will charge the Smart Battery Case.  How's The Battery Life? When it comes to battery discharge, the Smart Battery Case keeps the iPhone charged to 100% for almost an entire day. The iPhone first consumes juice from the smart case and then starts to use its own battery when the juice on the case is depleted. This effectively made the iPhone XR last up to almost two full days (42 hours) on a single charge and the iPhone XS Max for around 38 hours. Do note that we used both the smartphones as our daily drivers that included hours of browsing, GPS navigation, a little bit of gaming and a lot of emails.  If you are the kind of iPhone user who spends most of the day on your phone and your life depends on it, this accessory is a no brainer. Sure, it's expensive but it is probably the most comprehensive and reliable battery case you can get. It's integrated with iOS and has smart charging features that you won't find in any third party smart battery cases. It works wirelessly and can also be charged rapidly with Apple's fast charger. iPhone cases are our favourite accessories for the phones, and if you are planning to buy one soon; why not extend your battery life while you're at it?

Here Are 5 TV Shows To Watch If One Doesn't Really Give A Damn About 'Game Of Thrones'

'Games of Thrones' is literally everywhere now. It's everywhere on social media, it's taken over our YouTube sub boxes and it's all over the news portals too. It's clearly a great time to be 'Game of Thrones' fan. But what about those people who don't really care about the show? What if you don't care who gets killed and who sits on the Iron Throne? Yes, it's totally cool to be someone who doesn't care about 'Game of Thrones'.  So, what to do when it's the only show everyone seems to be talking about and you want to watch something different? Well, don't worry! We've got you covered.  Here are five other shows you can watch if you don't care about 'Game of Thrones' -  1. Vikings © History Channel 'Vikings' is a great show to watch if you don't really like 'Game of Thrones', but want to watch something with conquests and sword fights. The plot of 'Vikings' isn't as complicated to understand as, say, 'Game of Thrones', but there's still a lot to look forward to.  It tells the tale of a Norse hero Ragnar Lothbrok on his journey to becoming a Scandinavian king. The story is set in a medieval era, and the show does a phenomenal job of representing it with costumes and sets. Also, the cast has done a commendable job and the character development is on point too. Where to watch: Netflix 2. Outlander © Netflix 'Outlander' is yet another period drama, which should definitely be on your watch list. It's based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon, and it follows a World War II nurse who finds a portal (yes, a portal to travel in time) to 1743 Scotland. It's a show which combines historic action and drama with some interesting tidbits of time travel. Unlike the 'Game of Thrones' series, the books are a quick read, which makes this show all the more interesting. If you end up missing something on the show or you feel like getting a better understanding of the things happening on the show, then it's very easy to catch up. Where to watch: Netflix 3. Westworld © HBO 'Westworld', when it came out back in 2016, was one of the most-discussed shows. Literally, it was everywhere. In case you don't know, it's a sci-fi series set in a futuristic theme park where celebrities and wealthy people show up to bring their wild west fantasies to life. We're two seasons in, and the show just keeps on getting more interesting. Guess what? It looks like it's only going to get crazier from here since it looks the life-like host robots are up to something. The show is due for the third season, but it's not coming anytime soon. So, you still have a lot of time to catch up. Where to watch: Hotstar 4. The 100 © Netflix What do 'Game of Thrones' and 'The 100' have in common? They both are shows in which no one is safe. So, if you're planning on watching this show, then make sure that you don't get attached to any of the characters. That, however, is the fun part. 'The 100' is based on the Kass Morgan young adult series, but it's no longer following the original storyline and has now become a thing of its own. The show is about a nuclear apocalypse, where the remaining bunch of people are living in a space station. When the station's life support starts showing the signs of failure, they send 100 young prisoners to determine alternate safe shelters. Where to watch: Netflix 5. Frontier © Netflix Honestly, you can watch this show just for Jason Momoa. As Khal Drogo, he got killed off fairly quickly in 'Game of Thrones' and you can get your Khal Drogo fix from this show. 'Frontier' is essentially a show about the 18th-century North American fur trade, where the protagonist takes on Hudson's Bay Company. Where to watch: Netflix

If You're Overweight, Stop Blaming Your 'Genetics' Or 'Hormones' & Start Doing The Hard Work

If you think this is another post that is going to give you a 'not-my-fault' card and blame carbs, hormones, sugar, junk, insulin, etc. for you being overweight, pay twice the amount of attention. Let me first put out the most important fact on the table. Who do you think is responsible for you being fat? YOU. Nothing and no one else. So firstly, stop with the blame game.  You may still be thinking that "no, it is the hormones. I eat healthy all the time. How can it be?" Read through and you will realize how it is still you. The very basic of weight loss or weight gain is calorie balance. Eat more and expend less, you gain weight. Eat less and expend more, you lose weight. As simple as that. So the ONLY rule to lose weight is to burn more calories and eat fewer calories. Simply put, 'Eat less move more.' So, how do you figure that you are getting fat even if though you are eating healthy? 1. You Indulge In Mindless Eating Humans have evolved with survival instincts and this survival has one main food instinct which says 'see food, eat food.' I am not lying. You can try this experiment yourself. In your working space, fill a bowl up with chocolates and keep it someplace where people often visit, ideally by the printer or the water dispenser. © Unsplash Now check the same bowl towards the end of the day. There is a good chance that there would be little to no chocolates in there. Then, ask your co-workers casually what have they eaten all day. Almost nobody will mention chocolates on that list. Not that they want to lie to you, their brain simply does not register the food they eat subconsciously. The same translates to portion sizes and eating while not paying attention. Look at the computer screen or TV while eating and you might as well finish off an entire pizza, as your brain does not respond to the fullness signal as your attention is elsewhere. 2. Under-Reporting & Over-Estimation There is research which shows that people who keep food journals are terrible at reporting their food intakes and even worse at estimating their energy expenditure. © Unsplash A 1992 study showed that people under-reported food intake by 47% and over-reported energy expenditure by 51%. Considering that you eat as per the normal food guidelines and do around an hour of activity per day, your intake would come to around 2200 kcals and expenditure would be 400 kcals. But as per the study, the same example above meant people reported that they ate around 1200 kcals and had an expenditure of around 800 kcals. That is a huge margin of error and now you can see where you might be going wrong too. 3. Cheat Days Do Not Count This is usually the norm that even though you may be eating well or mindfully during the week, every weekend ends up being a deserved cheat day. © Unsplash Firstly, if you are dieting in the first place and you are above the normal range of body fat%, i.e. 10 to 15%, nothing about your cheat day is 'deserved'. And more often than not, these unaccounted cheat days are a shit ton of calories down your throat that needs to be stored somewhere. They are not going to magically disappear into thin air. So, the next time you think that it is the hormones making you fat, always remember this: It is ALWAYS you!   Author Bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company and the founder of Mars Nutrition, a nutrition supplement company. China Conducts Maximum Executions In The World & It's 10 Times Higher Than Saudi Arabia's Count

Death penalty -- that is what a government-sanctioned killing of a person is known as. And the grievous process of taking a person's life is known as execution. This isn't a topic most of us would want to read about on any given day. We're sure you have much better things to do than dwell on this, much like the rest of us. © Getty Images Yet, here we are writing about it, and if you're still here, hang on for a little longer because things are about to get interesting now. Recently, we came across a report on world's top executioners and the data literally forced us to pen this piece. For the longest time Saudi Arabia has been the most infamous for its executions that doesn't spare any human life guilty in the eyes of the law in the state. Turns out we were mistaken big time. Not only does Saudi Arabia doesn't conduct most number of executions, but it also doesn't stand at number 2 one the list. © Getty Images According to an Amnesty International report, revealed that China is after all the world's top executioner by far! Over thousands of people were put to death last year in the country even when the accurate figures are still not known and remain a state secret. Saudi Arabia on the other hand holds the third spot on the list after Iran, which is second in line with its number of execution lying at over 253 executions in 2018. Saudi Arabia on the other hand conducted 149 executions last year. © Statista Who would have thought one of Asia's fastest growing economies is also a leading country in carrying out the most number of executions! FYI, executions in China are mostly enforced for murder and drug trafficking, and are carried out by lethal injection or gun shot. *Jitters*

6 Simple Yet Crucial Steps To Follow If You're Looking To Get Jacked Like Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo has the best physique among his counterparts in the sport and is one of the best athletes in the world. His day begins with a team practice session that lasts for about 3-4 hours, which includes football drills, HIIT drills, sprinting and weight training exercises. Ronaldo trains in the gym for 4 days/week. His lifting routine primarily focuses on enhancing strength, speed and a little bit of hypertrophy. This type of training is extremely beneficial for athletes. © Reuters Here are six tips that can help you in getting a body similar to that of the Juventus star: 1) Focus On Nutrition: For your body to look jacked, you need to get rid of excess body fat. To get rid of it, get into a state of calorie deficit. A calorie deficit is when you consume fewer calories than is required to maintain your current body weight. Lower body fat is required to showcase your muscles. For most guys, this is 7 to 10% body fat. © Unsplash 2) Pick A Sport: Sports can really help you to in staying active. Pick any sport whichever you like and enjoy it 2-3 times per week.  3) Lift Weights: Weight training is the base to look jacked like Ronaldo. Weight training has various benefits like improving your concentration, building muscle, burning fat, improved sex life, less risk of injury, etc. Hit the gym 3-4 days in a week and be consistent with it. Incorporate compound movements and isolation movements. Learn the motor-skill pattern to build your core strength. © Unsplash Full body movements like the squat, the bench press, the deadlift or the overhead press engage and train your core. Implement big movements properly in your training plan so that you can lift heavy overtime and gain a good amount of muscle.  4) Cardio- Doing some cardio will not hurt your gains if you take care of your nutrition. Cardio can help you to condition your physique, however, cardio can also be a problem if you do too much of it. You can do any form of cardio like HIIT (high-intensity interval training) or LISS (low-intensity steady state). 5) Sleep- Your body will never show signs of improvement if your sleep pattern is not on point. What do I mean by this? You need to get at least 6-7 hours of deep sleep. A good range is 7-8+ hrs for better recovery outcomes. Some might require more than 8 due to their genetics and stress.  If you are not able to get at least 6 hours then you might face sleep deprival effects. 6) Supplements- Supplements can really help you fill the gaps. You don't have to take a ton of it and especially not bullshit ones like BCAAs, fat burners, testosterone booster, etc. In fact, I would suggest you take the effective ones like: 1) Whey Protein- Whey protein is more of a convenience food which can help you to fulfil your protein gap. Mostly required by vegetarians and vegans who find difficult to complete their protein intake per day. © Reuters 2) Creatine- Creatine can help you to look fuller overall. It also helps you to increase strength and lean body mass. 3-5g/day intake is sufficient. 3) Caffeine- Caffeine is a stimulant which can help you boost your mood before any intensive work. It boosts your performance in the gym and helps you do more work in a short time. A couple of shots of black coffee will do the magic. To achieve Ronaldo's physique you have to be consistent, disciplined and dedicated. Author Bio: Yashovardhan Singh is an online fitness coach with www.getsetgo.fitness, an online fitness platform. Along with lifting weights and building his physique, he is also a motorbike enthusiast, an animal lover. You can connect with him on Instagram or drop him an email on yashovardhan@getsetgo.fitness.

Doesn't IPL 2019 Remind People Of Drama-Laden 'Saas-Bahu' Serials & Terrible Reality Shows?

“Oh, did you watch MS Dhoni enter the field last night to challenge the umpires?” “Oh! Oh! Ashwin 'mankaded' Ben Stokes and now, his English teammate, James Anderson shredded Ashwin's photo! OMG!” “Sunil Narine had evil plans to 'mankad' Virat Kohli but our hero was too smart for him.” C'mon @circleofcricket, that was such a cheap idea 4 likes 'n cmmnts. Change ur handle name 2 KillerOfCricket.
NO #SunilNarine didn't try 4 a mankad. It was @imVkohli over reacting 'n being dramatic on d field 4 that. Love that some Narine give back to Kohlið#IPL @IPL #KKRvRCB pic.twitter.com/wL5QTuYl57 — Shan Kamarudheen (@ShanKamarudheen) April 19, 2019 *Sigh* With the kind of drama and plot twists the twelfth season of the Indian Premier League is producing, we might as well start calling the daily matches “episodes” of a cringey but superhit Indian soap opera that literally millions of people watch on a regular basis.  Along with all the lights, the music, the dancing, leagues like these are most definitely making the sport a lot more exciting and with the T20 format taking over the world life wildfire, cricket has never been more popular amongst the younger generations. But, maybe that's not enough. They want people to talk about controversies and rowdy behaviour by the players and disrespecting the officials like highschool bullies. I was alive when I saw Dhoni angry. #RRvCSK pic.twitter.com/ZCawlEqqKA — Akash Jain (@akash207) April 11, 2019 The battles of “he said, she said” do not help either. Well respected men of cricket, people like Harsha Bhogle and Shane Warne are fighting on Twitter over something like Ashwin's 'mankading' just to add a tinch of masala to the piping hot mess this season is turning out to be. Harsha you are missing the point completely & I'm disappointed in you as you  always push the spirit of the game - now you condone this behaviour ? Ashwin's actions were simply disgraceful, and I hope the BCCI doesn't condone this sort of behaviour in the #IPL ! #spiritofthegame https://t.co/BsIKDBN51X — Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) March 25, 2019 The point is that IPL is famous, yes. Cricketing fans from all over the world are glued to their smartphones and televisions to watch the four-hour-long matches on weekdays and double the amount on the weekends. The viewership and continued to grow through the years thanks to channels like Star Sports 1 Tamil and Jalsha Movies providing match commentary in the regional languages and the male-female contribution in the exponentially growing views has remained consistent, according to a report shared by the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India.  In other words, business is good and that should be enough, right? So, what is the need to add such controversies and disputes to the sport?

RDJ Talks About His Favourite 'Avengers: Endgame' Theory & We're Sure Paul Rudd Doesn't Like It

Theories may come and theories may go, but this one goes on forever.  Ever since 'Avengers: Infinity War' came out last year, all Marvel fans have spent all their time watching and rewatching everything from Marvel, trying to find out clues and form theories for 'Avengers: Endgame'. Some seem spot on, some are too big to reach, and then some theories are so ridiculous, they become so iconic they even reach back to the cast and the directors.  If 'Ant-Man going up Thanos' ass and expanding' didn't immediately come to your mind, I'm sorry but you're not a true Marvel fan.  This is the theory that has formed a life of its own and has probably haunted Paul Rudd, and Josh Brolin, of course, for months. The theory is so simple yet so complicated, so ridiculous but ridiculous enough to actually work. And, we're not the only ones advocating for Ant-Man to go inside Thanos; turns out, even Robert Downey Jr is a fan.  While doing press for the biggest Marvel movie yet, two of the OG Avengers - Jeremy Renner and RDJ - talked about all the crazy fan theories. Jeremy kept it professional and said, “I just love the creativity that comes from theories. They're hilarious, they're pretty crazy… but it means people are invested in the stories.” RDJ, on the other hand, was just being, well, RDJ. He would obviously bring up the viral theory. He said, “My favorite [fan theory] is Ant-Man goes up Thanos' butt and then makes himself big. And that's exactly what happens.” Robert Downey Jr talks about his favorite #AvengersEndgame theories...

ð ð pic.twitter.com/BExlNXFUjM — EB Games Australia (@EBGamesAus) April 15, 2019 Well, the Russo Brothers were already on board with this theory and now that they have RDJ's support, it can only mean one thing - Thanos better watch his back...and his butt.  I wish I could say this was photoshopped but the Russo brothers really did that pic.twitter.com/U7zW1fYznN — mila â¡ (@voiidmarvel) March 29, 2019 Paul Rudd right now, probably!

Here's Why Doing One-Muscle-A-Day Workouts Like Your Gym Guru Is Complete Madness

If you go to a gym and decide to get your exercise plan from a beefy-looking bodybuilder, there is a good chance your training split looks like this: Monday – Chest Tuesday – Back Wednesday – Off Thursday – Legs Friday – Shoulders & Abs Saturday – Biceps & Triceps Sunday – Off On the surface, nothing looks wrong here and it looks balanced as well. Because you are hitting every body part once per week. There is no overlap between muscle groups and you won't be fatigued. Also, there is no fear of 'over-training' as well. © Unsplash In fact, it looks like the perfect training programs that are given in bodybuilding magazines by your favourite bodybuilders like Phil Heath, Jeremy Buendia, or Kai Greene. If it is something that pros follow and it works for them, it will work for me too. Right? Umm... WRONG! The athletes that you see on stage are on bodybuilding drugs or anabolic steroids. On those drugs, you build muscle better, recover faster and get a great physique even with a shitty training split. © Unsplash Their muscle protein synthesis aka MPS, the mechanism through which your body builds muscle, stays elevated for days after training.  But that's not you. If you are a natural lifter, the one-body-part-once-a-week means missed opportunities for gains. A study by Dr Stu Phillips found that after resistance training, MPS spiked to 65% above baseline after 24 hours, was elevated to 34% above baseline at 48 hours and then came back to normal. If you want to gain maximal muscle, your MPS levels need to be elevated as much as possible. If you hit one body part once a week, it will have the growth stimulus for 2-3 days and then nothing will happen. Another study from JSCR concluded that when the same weekly sets were matched, the group that trained the muscle 1x a week only gained 62% of the strength to those who trained the muscle 3x a week. © Unsplash To simplify it, if you do 12 sets of a muscle in one session, you will compromise your strength gains compared to doing 4 sets in 3 sessions. So, as a natural lifter, a frequency of 2-3x per week is a much better option for you if you want to get jacked. And for those bodybuilders you follow, you know what makes them grow muscle. So, Where To Start? If you want to graduate from the bro-split, a good start would be a basic Upper-Lower split. It would look something like this: Monday – Upper body (strength focused) Tuesday – Lower body (strength focused) Wednesday – Off Thursday – Upper body (hypertrophy focused) Friday – Off Saturday – Lower body (hypertrophy focused) Sunday – Off Start doing this and stop training like a bro and compromising your results.  Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company and the founder of Mars Nutrition, a nutrition supplement company. Two Women Cricketers Celebrate Love By Getting Married But Homophobia Instantly Takes Over

One of the leading ladies of international cricket and Kiwi superstar Hayley Jensen and her fellow athlete from Down Under, Nicola Hancock decided to make their cricketing partnership last a lifetime, as the couple tie the knot last weekend. Having been teammates for two straight seasons for Australia's Big Bash League franchise, Melbourne Stars, the couple saw a lot of individual success in the T20 league. While Jensen, an all-rounder, won the prestigious Una Paisley medal for being Victoria Women's Premier Cricket league's best player of the 2017-18 season, Hancock finished the latest season of the BBL as her squad's second-highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps in 14 games with an average of 19.92. The official news of the wedding was broken online by Hancock's team last evening: From #TeamGreen, congratulations to Stars bowler Nicola Hancock who married her partner Hayley Jensen last weekend! ðpic.twitter.com/QvWb7Ue0Qx — Melbourne Stars (@StarsBBL) April 18, 2019 "From #TeamGreen, congratulations to Stars bowler Nicola Hancock who married her partner Hayley Jensen last weekend!" the picture was captioned. Australia legalised same-sex marriage in December 2017 while New Zealand granted it the royal assent way back in 2013. However, as soon as the wedding pictures were available online, homophobia took over with the blink of an eye and flooded the team's twitter handle with slurs demeaning same-sex marriage: It isn't ryt — NITESH KUMAR (@nkojha9060) April 19, 2019 Challenge to Natural law — Kapil Kumar (@KapilKu03594795) April 19, 2019 Oh no

Maybe that is the question that needs to be answered now. With the LGBTQ community being welcomed into society with open arms, why is it that marriage, a gesture to celebrate love, needs for the people involved to “prepare themselves”? Do straight couples need to worry about the kind of criticism that they might face from society after they get married? Sure, homosexuality has become a part of the world that we live in and sure people now have the right to identify themselves as “gay”, but normalising it, in our mundane lives, is something that continues to be our "to-do” list

In The New 'Shell On Challenge', Teens Eat Banana Peels & Food Wrappers Making It A Health Hazard

The internet is truly a bizarre place and we say that because threes a race to one-up that bizarreness, everyday with new and upcoming trends on social media. The new trends that follow are weird and strange challenges, which take over the social domain like a hot piece of chocolate. Some are rather dangerous and the rest just strange. We've been on the receiving end of a lot of challenges that have come and gone. From the Kiki challenge to the tide-pod challenge, everything has been tried and tested, even in India and now we have a new challenge doing the rounds, which can be dangerous but it's a quite senseless TBH. (c)Twitter The 'Shell On Challenge' is going viral right now and taking the internet by storm as we speak. It basically involves teenagers challenging each other to eat the food along with its packaging, whether it's natural food or processed. Sounds strange right? Well, it really is! (c)Reddit Videos have emerged on the Internet where kids have taken the challenge a bit too seriously and have eaten banana's with their peels intact, lemon zest, egg shells, candy wrappers and plastic packaging on food for fun. I mean it may seem fun to these kids but it can be quite dangerous if what they're consuming is plain plastic! y'all eat banana with the shell on or off?? pic.twitter.com/y2X6uTWwEF — emily jane (@emilyjanefrank) 14 April 2019 A kid in the US, who is a student in high school tried to follow up with this challenge by biting off a packet containing carrots, in order to ingest the 'shell' or the plastic it was wrapped in. The video of him doing the same caught on and has now gone viral. 'Shell on' challenge is the latest dangerous Snapchat trend among teens https://t.co/MtNA8NhLCT pic.twitter.com/9vmQMcnI85 — New York Post (@nypost) 17 April 2019 He also made a statement saying “It just looks funny, because it's not really a shell but people are calling things shells. I guess that is what's funny about it,”  People from all over the world have reacted to the challenge and most of them aren't really amused by it as it's clearly the worst possible way to have fun! I think eating food with “the shell on” could be the next big college sport. Gonna start scouting for talent. — Jon Berger (@bergerbomb44) 17 April 2019 I wondered why Boomers judged GenZ until I saw a thread about the “shell on challenge”

After 12 videos of high schoolers eating bananas with the peel on... I can finally say I relate to the Boomers. — Devin Spinks (@devin1096) 13 April 2019 If they are that stupid then perhaps they deserve it. — Ester Evans (@EsterEvansie) 17 April 2019 Lack of parenting and needing attention is turning our country into fucking morons! Social media and the hope for instant fame doesn't help either! — Mike (@mikelawrence813) 17 April 2019 Kids are so fucking stupid nowadays. — ro-co (@roco4033) 17 April 2019 So the next time you see a kid around you eating a banana or a pineapple with its 'shell' intact, don't freak out. Just maybe tell them there are far better ways to have fun than slip in to and be part of stranger things.

6 Smart Tips To Not Look Sweaty In Pictures During Peak Summer

Summer months can be terribly agonising especially when the humidity hits. From destroying hair that you freshly set in the morning as soon as you step out to sweaty patches in your pits, things can be a little hard to manage.   One such problem that no one talks about is greasy skin and especially in pictures. Think going to parties after dressing up except all your pictures turn out greasy. So here's how you deal with greasy skin: Here's the thing, your forehead and T-zone could use a little less of oil production and to minimise that, you should do the following: 1. Commit To Matte Products © Getty Images Sometimes, the necessary process of moisturising can cause you to sweat profusely. If the product is too dense, heavy, and oily, it's going to aggravate your already greasy situation. Thus, a lightweight, fast-absorbing moisturizer will allow your pores to breathe more easily.  2. Switching To A Face Oil Also Helps © Getty Images The trick to nixing oily skin is applying more oil. The oil that you apply absorbs quickly and leaves your skin oil-free because it registers the oily levels of the skin as sufficient so it is in fact counterproductive. 3. Add A Toner To Your Routine © Getty Images Ingredients like witch hazel reduce oil production in the skin without drying it out. However, stay away from alcohol-based astringents, they are counter reactive.  5. Keep Face Wipes Handy Oil builds throughout the day but you obviously can't wash your face all the time. That's why it's helpful to stock up on refreshing, skin-toning face wipes that absorb excess oil while rejuvenating the face at the same time. 6. Remember To Buy Yourself An Oil-Controlling Cleanser © Getty Images Control the everpresent oil production with an oil controlling cleanser. Other cleansers won't do you justice. Heavy-hitting ingredients like salicylic acid remove excess face oil, clean and shrink pores, and minimize shine for the rest of the day.  7. A Weekly Mud Mask Is A Move That Everyone Forgets © Getty Images It only takes10 minutes, but these ten minutes of hassle can possibly be the fastest way to remove oil production.  The clay in the mask will soak all impurities from the pores, preventing breakouts.  Don't do it more than once a week or your skin might turn dry.

For The Love Of God, Please Stop Wishing Your Christian Friends A 'Happy Good Friday'

It's that time of the year again when I go through my ritual of sending out PSAs to my non-Christian brethren to not go around wishing people a 'Happy Good Friday' and give high-fives saying “Yeah! Good Friday wala long weekend! Whooo!” The sad part is that despite my numerous attempts, through the years, there are always those select handful of morons who manage to fill my Whatsapp chats and social media feeds with a “Hey Marina, Happy Good Friday. Have a good one.” I can't even… via GIPHY Honestly, the mind just reels at the stupidity! What does it take for these people to get it? So, this year, I am taking my PSA responsibilities to the next level and am writing this article, to inform all you wonderful people, that walking around wishing Christians a 'Happy Good Friday' is probably the rudest and most disrespectful thing you could ever do. Now, I firmly believe that no one is doing this intentionally. Because if you ARE doing that, then my friend, the Lord save you. But I do believe that's it's clearly a simple matter of lack of information, which is making people say so. I mean, I get it. It has the word 'good' in it, so naturally, it's something to be celebrated, right? Sorry guys, but no. It, in fact, is one of the most solemn and sorrowful days for the Christian community across the globe. © Icon Productions Good Friday commemorates the day Jesus Christ was crucified to death in the most brutal way imaginable. The Bible says that Jesus was mercilessly beaten up, tortured and then made to carry his own cross on which he was crucified. Watch 'The Passion of Christ' to get a better idea. Yes, what's so 'good' about this entire thing, right? Clearly 'Sad Friday' would have been more apt. But there is a reason for Christ's suffering being labelled as 'good'. Now, I don't want to go into the whole logistics where the Oxford English Dictionary states that 'good' in this particular context, refers to “a day or season observed as Holy by the Church.” Instead, I want to show you the bigger picture and the deeper meaning behind Good Friday. We Christians firmly believe that Christ sacrificed himself to show his love for mankind. On Good Friday, we remember, according to 1 John 1:10, the day Jesus willingly died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. His suffering and inhuman death, as extremely terrible as it was, was God's incredible plan to save all mankind, even though he had to sacrifice his one and only son. © Icon Productions I imagine if I was there that day Jesus died, I would have probably agreed with most of you lot and questioned what was so good about that day. All hope was lost, Satan was clearly having a party and evil had triumphed. But a few days later, something happened that turned the tables around. Good Friday is followed by Easter, the glorious day Jesus rose from the dead, marking his victory over sin and showing a future full of promise and forgiveness, for all those who believed in him. As terrible as the day was, Good Friday paved the way for mankind's salvation, which is marked as 'good' by us Christians. We humans are not capable of erasing all our sins and guilt, but Christ did the unimaginable and died for us. © Reuters Most Christians around the world spend the day in prayer and fasting and confessing their sins, as they prepare for the Easter celebrations. So there you go, I really, really, really hope I have successfully made you guys understand the meaning and the significance of this day. And here's hoping I don't see any 'Happy Good Friday' messages on my feed anymore!

The Marvel Cast Loves Brie Larson & Captain Marvel While All The Dudebros Hate On Her

Ever since 'Captain Marvel' was announced and Brie Larson took on the role of the strongest Avenger, she's received way too much hate. If hardcore Marvel fans actually don't prefer her in the role of the superhero, that is still understandable, but most of the trolling she faced was mainly from sexist dudebros who personally had a vendetta against Brie or were just too intimidated by a badass female superhero. Whatever that case may be, I feel like she has been judged very unfairly by a lot of people. But, guess what? That doesn't matter that much because the entire Marvel cast has welcomed her into the Avengers family with open arms and couldn't be more happy with her or the character of Captain Marvel. This press tour has already given us so many iconic moments of everyone together, probably for the last time, joking around and having the time of their lives. Looking For The Right Fitness Coach For Yourself? Keep These 5 Crucial Things In Mind

Due to the popularization of the fitness industry, thousands of fitness coaches are available right now and their demand is on the peak. Right from the 'not to be taken seriously' ones who teach you hacks to lose face fat and belly fat in 7 days to those who speak actual facts and back their practice with the latest evidence, you will find every type of trainer out there.  © Unsplash The problem is that a lot of people fall easily for the quick hacks and sorcery-promising ones and do not really pay attention to the latter. That is unless they screw their happiness and waste their money on the quick fix ones and then go to the evidence-based practitioners. If you are looking to work with a professional for your fitness goals, here are a few qualities they should have: 1. Professionalism © Unsplash Like I mentioned, if you are looking to work with a professional, that is what they have to be. A professional. That means they should clearly communicate with the client what can be expected in the coaching, their timelines, what do they expect from the client, their coaching style, their communication channels and turnaround times. Along with that, what results the client can expect from the program and what are the things they would be required to do. 2. Ethical A coach who is trying to sell you a particular supplement or a fishy product under their sponsorship agenda or asks you to take certain drugs saying that you absolutely need it to get good results, are NOT the best lot to help you out. A coach should only 'suggest' supplements as it is not their role to make recommendations or ask you to buy things. They should suggest stating the benefits only and keep the decision-making power totally in your hands. Drugs, should not even come up in a conversation with your trainer.  3. Should Walk The Talk If your coach is obese, does not train regularly, does not eat well, seems like they themselves need a coach and are not the best person to be a coach to someone. By walk the talk, it does not mean they should be ripped and flash abs year round but should be what is considered fit and have a supporting lifestyle. If they don't, you will never be inspired to go an extra mile forward for them to get better or take them seriously in the first place. 4. Creates Plans Individualized For You © Unsplash If someone takes your money under the premise of coaching and ends up sending you some template files or cookie cutter programs, they are selling you templates and not coaching. Coaching, on the other hand, means that the coach in question takes information from you regarding your goals, your lifestyle, your current nutrition, training, sleep habits and then creates a plan suited for your lifestyle and goals. It is YOUR plan. Not the one that is a one-size-fits-all plan. 5. Transparency & Education A coach should not just tell you what to do and ask you to follow him blindly. A coach should be able to give you a satisfactory explanation as to 'why' a particular thing or a plan has been set for you and how it would benefit you. Along with that, the coach should equip you with the necessary information and education so that you can be independent after a few months to take charge of your own fitness. © Unsplash Yes, there still might be situations where you would still be with them. Be it a contest prep or a powerlifting meet or a sports event. But those are special instances or situations where someone keeping an eye on your progress and planning does help. But, if just staying in shape means you being with a coach and taking his coaching for a lifetime, that coach is making you a handicap and not helping you out in reality. Despite Agonising Pain, Soldier Crawls Past Marathon Finish Line To Honour Fallen Comrades

The world-renowned Boston Marathon has been one of the greatest tests of a man's physical capabilities, endurance and unshaken devotion. Throughout the years, the event has been home to some of the most memorable moments in the history of the United States of America, some good and some rather unfortunate, such as the 2013 bombings. A celebration of just 'being able', the Boston Marathon is more of a festival than a race. For Micah Herndon, a US Marine, however, it meant a lot more than all of that. The Ohio-born soldier was running the distance in honour of three of his comrades who lost their lives while serving their nation in Afghanistan. “I run in honour of them,” Herndon told the Record-Courier. “They are not here anymore. I am here, and I am able. I am lucky to still have all my limbs. I can still be active. I find fuel in the simple idea that I can run. Some can not.” However, the Marine's tribute for his fallen brothers in arms turned out to be a lot more difficult than he had ever imagined. After running for a little over 42 km and the finishing line in his sight, Herndon's legs suddenly locked up, ending up in him collapsing on the road. Going through immense pain, he was unable to stand on his feet. "Both my legs locked up, the worst pain I've ever experienced running,” Herndon said. As the medical team approached him, he refused to seek help, not until he cleared the finish line, all by himself, and he did. How badly do you want it? #BostonMarathon pic.twitter.com/EYo7liqM5Q — Dana Giordano (@dana_gio6) April 15, 2019 Crawling on his hands and knees, Herndon finally made it to the end of the marathon before immediately being assisted with a wheelchair and rushed to the hospital. "The mindset of a Marine, you finish it by yourself,” he said. The soldier also spoke about what kept him motivated throughout his ordeal. He said that whenever he felt like giving up, he just remembered his comrades' faces and names, which gave him the strength to carry on. Herndon also engraved the names of the fallen on the shoes that he wore for the run as a gesture of respect. After serving his time in Afghanistan, Herndon says that running helps him deal with his Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). "One way for me to deal with everything is to get in my own zone, my own headspace, and just go,” he said. “I will have setbacks in my life. I will go backwards, but it's how you respond going forward.”

Not Varun Or Alia, It's The CGI-Ed Bull From 'Kalank' That Was The Best Actor In The Film

There are some movies that are bad and then there is 'Kalank', which is so bad that people only love to troll it. 'Kalank' is one of those movies that could have just been a trailer or a short film. The story was so predictable and almost everything was given away in the trailer itself. But, people still went to watch it and we guess the only reason was to come back and make these hilarious memes.  © dharma productions However, out of all the performances of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor or Madhuri Dixit, it is the performance of the CGI-Ed bull that was loved by people. Although the makers put a disclaimer mentioning that no animals were harmed while filming the bullfight scene, why wasn't there any disclaimer stating "Watch it at your own risk because the CGI is bad"?  © dharma productions We guess KJo loves bullfights, or maybe he wanted to take inspiration from 'Baahubali: The Conclusion'. Also, FYI, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is the same production house that produced 'Baahubali: The Conclusion'. © arka media works Seriously what is this obsession with showing a character's strength by making them fight a bull? First it was Bhallaladeva, now it's Varun Dhawan's Zafar. But, just look at the difference between the CGI effects and VFX in both the movies.  Looks like internet can't seem to get over Varun's struggle with the fake bull and have turned that particular scene into a meme.  Pic 1: Expectation

Guessing it will be authentic, considering how people poked fun at Kangana Ranaut's mechanical horse scene in Manikarnika. — Chowkidar Pallavi Kamat ð¸ð¶ (@Pallavisms) April 17, 2019 @akashbanerjee is silent on Varun Dhawan's fantastically fake bullriding skills now. Looks Like The Best Part Of 'Kalank' Is Not The Movie Itself But The Hilarious Memes On It

Looks like the audience cannot get enough of being 'tabaah ho gaye' after watching and experiencing the magnum opus of this year, 'Kalank'. The Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan starrer movie is a tale of pain and love set amidst the backdrop of the pre-partition era and while many expectations have been shattered in a day, the memes cannot stop pouring on our social media feeds. After Two Days, Samsung's Foldable Smartphones Are Already Breaking & It's Being Called Fold Gate

Samsung announced one of the most iconic smartphones in the company history back in February and was the first to show off a foldable smartphone. The company has managed to produce the smartphone at a scale and is now ready to be sold in various regions, Huawei showed off their version of a foldable smartphone as well that also touted a unique and exciting design.  Samsung has already started to send out review devices to journalists and there have been numerous reports about the $2000 dollar smartphone breaking after a single day of use. The Galaxy Fold has been suffering a broken screen sometimes due to user error or due to low durability.  The first report comes from Dieter Bohn at The Verge where he had a piece of debris under the Galaxy Fold display. It was pressing up against the back of the display and caused a bump in the OLED panel. The debris managed to press against the display enough to break it and killed some vertical and horizontal rows of pixels.  © Twitter/Steve Kovach For Steve Kovach of CNBC, the device's display broke right along the fold crease and the pixels in the folding area were dead. This kind of confirmed that the crease in the middle may cause an issue as the display broke right along the crease.  © Twitter The Galaxy Fold also comes with a layer on the display that resembles some sort of protective glass. The layer is not supposed to be removed; however, some of the reviewers were not known of the case. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg removed the layer of the display file saying, The phone comes with this protective layer/film. Samsung says you are not supposed to remove it. I removed it, not knowing you're not supposed to (consumers won't know either). It appeared removable in the left corner, so I took it off. I believe this contributed to the problem." The removal of the film totally killed the smartphone as the left half of the display died.  © Twitter/MKBD YouTuber Marques Brownlee also peeled off the protective layer and said "the display spazzed and blacked out. Started over with a replacement.” After one day of use... pic.twitter.com/VjDlJI45C9 — Steve Kovach (@stevekovach) April 17, 2019 Folding smartphones is a brand new concept for smartphones and it is bound to see some hiccups before becoming mainstream. Samsung is the only company right now that has managed to make foldable smartphones real then masses. The Galaxy Fold is definitely for first-generation early adopters as we will see some improvements in design in the near future. As of now, Galaxy Fold is already sold out when it comes to pre-orders and has "overwhelming demand”.

'GOT' Season 8 Premiere Was Pirated Over 54 Million Times In 24 Hours & Most Views Came From India

Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was the show's most-watched episode ever. That's right, it was watched by a record 17.4 million viewers when it aired. But you know what? That number could have been much higher if more people would have watched it, you know, legally. According to a digital-piracy analytics company Muso, the “Winterfell” episode was pirated 54 million times globally in just 24 hours. The pirated views easily dwarfs the legal views that came on the day it was aired. Of course, the number will likely go up in the coming days as more people start watching it, but so will the pirated views. © HBO MUSO's data also shows that the most pirated views came from India. Roughly 10 million views out of the estimated 54 million came from India. MUSO speculates that the piracy in India was higher due to the difficulty of accessing the show there. China, on the other hand, airs a censored version of the show, so 5 million pirated views came from there too. United States, despite having the easiest access to the show via HBO, came third in charts with close to 4 million illegal views. So yes, it looks like people are not ready to pay to watch 'Game of Thrones' after all. Anyway, the next episode of 'Game of Thrones' season 8 airs Monday, April 22 at 6.30 AM on Hotstar in India. So, you still have some time to catch up if you haven't already.

Shots Fired: Pragyan Ojha Calls Bias Against Hyderabad Cricketers As Rayudu Dropped From WC Team

To quote one of the most questioned players to make it to the final Indian roster for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in Dinesh Karthik, “There will always be someone who will miss out. That's the nature of the game…”, and surely enough, with the total number of slots at 15 and over 25 supremely talented players competing for them, it is bound to happen that some players would miss out on the opportunity to represent their country in the biggest cricketing tournament there is.  One of the best (or worst?) examples of such a case is that of the 21-year-old wicket-keeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, who missed out on the opportunity to a veteran like Karthik, who's considered to bring greater stability and consistency to the already talent-laden squad.  On the other hand is the curious case of the 33-year-old Ambati Rayudu who initially was brought up to the team as a batting all-rounder who'd fit perfectly in the two-down spot for the Men in Blue. However, with his questionable bowling action being rejected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and he batting form spiralling, the Guntur born had to be removed from the final team ahead of the World Cup. Unable to take the news like a good sportsman that he is, Rayudu took a sly shot at the selectors and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) by tweeting this:  Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup ðð.. — Ambati Rayudu (@RayuduAmbati) April 16, 2019 Losing his spot to Vijay Shankar, who made his ODI debut just a couple of months ago in January, Rayudu said that he's just ordered a pair of 3-D glasses to watch the World Cup. This was in reference to team selector MSK Prasad, who'd called Shankar a three-dimensional player. Responding to the tweet in support was yet another Indian cricketer who was put on the spot by the ICC for an objectionable bowling action and had to revamp the very essential part of his game, Pragyan Ojha. Curious case of some Hyderabadi cricketers... been in a similar situation... understand the winkâð¼ https://t.co/zLtAQIMvYn — Pragyan Prayas Ojha (@pragyanojha) April 16, 2019 “Curious case of some Hyderabadi cricketers... been in a similar situation... understand the wink”, tweeted the former Indian cricketer. Taking his own example after having missed out on the opportunity to play for his country in the 2015 World Cup, Ojha pointed out that being dropped from the team ahead of crucial games is evident for “some Hyderabadi cricketers”.  However, his dig at the selectors did not sit well with the fans of Indian cricket:  Isn't that why u were supporting him the day before selections? I hAvE gRoWn Up WiTh HiM. Pot calling Kettle black. Instead of whining over selections & talking nonsense filth to divide fans, support the ones who are selected, doesn't matter from which part of India they are from — Saurabh (@imsgshinde2) April 16, 2019 Aur ye Pragyan behati Ganga me haath dhote huye. — Ghenchebaaz (@MVBisht) April 16, 2019 Don't bring state into play.... He was given enough opportunity to perform. Though feel bad for him, but the call was justified on the back of past performance. — Gareeb Joker (@badoombaa) April 16, 2019 You wer dropd frm d team whn ther wer better spinners in d country. If it's a case of Hyderabadi cricketer, thn Laxman and Azruddin wouldnt hav played around 100 tests. Skill matters bhai which many others hav more than u guys. Raydu doesn't deserve a place in India A team also. — dryogeshpatel (@dryogiap) April 17, 2019 Hey Mr. Ojha, don't pull cricket into regional colors! — à¤à¥à¤à¥à¤¦à¤¾à¤° Aciditic Indian ð®ð³ ð®ð³ (@Aciditic_Indian) April 16, 2019
