Ahead Of Its Big Eid Release, Salman Khan's 'Bharat' Lands Into Legal Trouble

Salman Khan's 'Bharat' is nearing its release and fans are waiting with bated breath to see their favourite Khan on the big screen. The movie has been a part of controversies ever since its inception. Just a few days before the release, Salman Khan's 'Bharat' has landed into legal trouble. Well, a petition has been filed seeking the change in the title of the movie at the Delhi High Court. The petition was filed by Vipin Tyagi. As per reports, the film is against Section 3 of the Emblems and Names Act which prohibits the use of word 'Bharat' for any commercial use.  He has also asked for a change in one particular dialogue where the character has been compared to the country and he feels it's somewhere hurting the sentiments of the citizens. We wonder what Salman or Ali Abbas Zafar has to say to this. For the uninitiated, 'Bharat' is an adaptation of the Korean film 'An Ode To My Father'. It traces the journey of a man and a nation together. It will release on June 5. Watch the trailer here:  Salman's 'Bharat' was also making news when Priyanka Chopra walked out of the movie. Since then, Salman is always seen taking a potshot at PeeCee for the same. At a press conference, Salman Khan said, "She, over Bharat, did choose the USA in the 'nick' of time. She has worked so hard all her life, okay? And when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped that film and got married. You know, hats off! Usually, people leave their husbands for a film like this." Are you excited to see the movie? Let us know in the comments below.

A 16-YO Boy Died While Playing PUBG Mobile For 6 Hours & It's Becoming A Problem Now

PUBG Mobile, as you probably already know, has become a huge problem in India. From broken marriages to people losing their lives, we've literally seen it all. Now, just when we thought that people were becoming more aware of the situation, we've learned that a 16-year-old boy has died while playing the battle royale game. © PUBG According to a news report, the 16-year-old boy identified as Furkhan Qureshi died of cardiac arrest after playing the game for six straight hours. He was a class 12 student from Neemuch town of Madhya Pradesh. According to his family, Furkhan started playing the game after having his lunch. At around 7 PM on May 26 when the incident happened, he apparently became hyper and started shouting at other players. He then collapsed on the floor. © PUBG Furkhan's sister, Fiza Qureshi, was sitting beside him when the incident happened. “My brother was playing PUBG with some of his friends. Suddenly, he started shouting 'carry out the blast..carry out blast'. Then he threw his earphones and mobile and cried saying 'Ayan I will not play with you'. I lost the game because of you,” she said. His family then rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was declared brought dead. “The boy was brought to the hospital without a pulse. We tried to revive him, but failed in our attempt”, said Cardiologist Dr. Ashok Jain. From the looks of it, it appears as though he got pissed because of losing the game. It might have caused a surge in adrenaline resulting in cardiac arrest. Dr Jain noted that his heart seemed to be healthy. “I appeal children to stay away from such games as excitement could cause cardiac arrest," he said. After the sad demise of his brother, Furkhan's brother Mohammad Hasim also opened about his addiction to PUBG Mobile. “I also used to play the same game but after the death of my brother I have deleted it from my mobile phone," he said. PUBG Mobile addiction has become a serious problem. It's important that people understand the ill-effects of excessive gaming. WHO recently announced that 'gaming disorder' is a real thing, so we think it's time that people start taking it more seriously.

Narendra Modi Took Oath As PM For A Second Term & Of Course There Are Memes On It

As I'm sure everyone knows that our country officially got its Prime Minister yesterday with PM Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony after BJP's huge win in the Lok Sabha elections. Basically, PM Modi officially became the Prime Minister yet again for the next five years and the event became a historic one because of how huge the attendance yesterday was. © Twitter But, desi people have some other ways of going down in history (not really, but you get the point). I feel like each and every Indian knows that PM Modi literally can't do a single thing without it becoming the talk of Twitter and something huge like his swearing-in ceremony, that too with 8,000 guests in attendance, will have people talking, and more importantly, making memes.  Like always, desi Twitter did not disappoint at all and gave some hilarious tweets that I feel like even PM Modi himself would laugh at if he sees them. What photoshop skills. *Modi takes oath*

Sundar Pichai Refused To Take Shares Worth Rs 405 Cr From Google Saying He's Already Making Enough

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been one of the world's highest-paid corporate executives. So, naturally, you'd expect someone like him to continue receiving a big fat paycheck, right? Well, that's not really true. As turns out, as Google's Chief Executive Officer, Sundar Pichai hasn't received an equity/ stock award in over two years. No, it has nothing to do with his performance as the CEO. © Reuters Apparently, Sundar turned down a huge grant of restricted stock in 2018 saying he was already being paid generously. That's right, Bloomberg noted that he turned down the shares because he felt his compensation was more than enough. The exact amount which he turned down, obviously, is still unclear. However, the sources familiar to the matter told that it's about $58 million, which roughly translates to about Rs 405 Crore. © Reuters Before you think Pichai was being too generous, it's worth pointing out a key detail in Bloomberg's report. The report points to a staff meeting from earlier this year, in which a Google employee questioned why the CEO was receiving massive payouts when the other employees were struggling to make their ends meet. It's not just Google, though. A lot of technology companies are being increasingly blamed for all sorts of societal ills. It's been reported that the board of Google parent Alphabet Inc. will meet later this year to revise Pichai's salary. Until then, it's highly unlikely that you'll see Pichai in the list of “Most Reputable CEO” anytime soon.

OnePlus 7 Is Still The Best Value For Money Smartphone That's Hard To Beat

OnePlus started off as a brand that sold 'Flagship Killers', meaning some of the most powerful phones at affordable or mid-range prices. However, the company decided to pull up the socks and go all in with an ultra-premium device this year for the first time called the OnePlus 7 Pro. In fact, OnePlus was so hellbent at showing off its shiny new creation, it dedicated almost its entire presentation time on the 7 Pro. Yes, I said almost because OnePlus also took some time to announce the new OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7 may have missed the well-deserved spotlight during the launch, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should ignore it. In fact, I was more excited about the OnePlus 7 than the Pro version, mainly because of the associated price tag. © MensXP Don't get me wrong, the OnePlus 7 Pro is a great smartphone. It's got everything that you'd expect from a premium smartphone. A stunning display, a beautiful design, solid performance, etc. You'll get all the flagship features if you're willing to pay for it. But if don't fancy all those features, then the OnePlus 7 is what you should be looking at. Design & Display Alright, I am not going to lie, but the OnePlus 7 is more or less identical to the OnePlus 6T when it comes to its design and display. Seriously, if you pull out a OnePlus 6T and put it right next to it, I am sure no one would be able to tell them apart. Yes, the earpiece on the OnePlus 7 is elongated and the dual-LED flash now rests within the camera module, but those subtle differences. BTW, not many differences also mean the phone still lacks wireless charging, an IP rating, and a headphone jack. Just saying. Apart from that though, you are essentially looking at the same 6.41-inch AMOLED display surrounded by an aluminum frame and glass panel. The display still has a waterdrop/ dewdrop notch, the buttons are at the same spot and so is the alert slider. On paper, the OnePlus 7 weighs less than the OnePlus 6T by 3 grams. However, I found it slightly on the heavier side maybe because I've been using the Pixel 3a XL as my daily driver. © MensXP As for the display itself, you're looking at a 1080p panel which is as beautiful as AMOLED panels can get. Seriously, this is a stunning display on which media consumption is a joy, be it watching movies on Netflix or jumping into a quick game of Call of Duty Mobile. OnePlus has thrown in a bunch of display settings like 'Night mode', 'Reading mode', etc., which is something you might want to check out. Heck, you can even calibrate the display by fiddling with some advanced display settings like NTSC, sRGB, Display-P3, etc. One of the things I noticed while using the OnePlus 7 is that it doesn't get as bright as I'd like it to. The other day I was out shooting pictures with it, and I found myself constantly checking the brightness slider to see if it set to max brightness. That's weird considering the fact that it's an AMOLED panel and I haven't had such issues in the past with, say, the OnePlus 6T. © MensXP Since we're talking about the display, I think it's a good time to talk about the in-display fingerprint scanner as well. The OnePlus 7, just like the OnePlus 6T and the 7 Pro, has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Well, it had been a while since I used a OnePlus phone before this, but I am pretty sure the sensor on the OnePlus 7 is even better than the one which I used on the 6T. It's both fast and was consistent at reading my finger, which is always a good thing. © MensXP Overall, I'd say the OnePlus 7 is a looker. I've been using the Red variant of the phone and, as you can see, it looks absolutely beautiful. I also got to check out the Mirror Gray variant at the launch event, so I can confirm that it looks equally impressive. Performance Now, if you've read our OnePlus 7 Pro's review, then you'd already know that the new Snapdragon 855 SoC is an absolute monster. Well, OnePlus 7 is also powered by the same processor, so you already know the phone is going to be fast. The variant that I've been using comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That's the top of the line variant, but you can pick up the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Either way, you're going to get a phone that's going to be blazing fast. My experience with the phone has been fluid. I mean, OnePlus, as we all know, isn't a company that cut corners when it comes to the performance, the OnePlus 7 is no different. Opening and closing apps was a breeze and it even handles multitasking like a champ. I am not someone who does a lot of resource-intensive tasks like editing a video, etc. I mainly found myself pushing the processor by playing games and editing a couple of pictures on apps like Adobe Lightroom, Snapseed, etc. Needless to say, the OnePlus 7 ran all of that without breaking a sweat. Anyway, here's a quick look at the Geekbench score for those of you who care about synthetic benchmark numbers - © MensXP When it comes to gaming, titles like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile ran just as you'd expect. Fast! I was able to play all the games at the highest settings and noticed no lags or stutters whatsoever. It also has a dedicated gaming mode which you can use to get a performance boost if need be. Also, the OnePlus 7, just like the 7 Pro, uses the new UFS 3.0 type of storage, which is probably the fastest form of storage out there, so you can expect great read and write speeds while doing things like loading a game, moving a file, etc. Overall when it comes to the performance, I'd say the OnePlus 7 is a typical OnePlus phone with fluid and snappy performance. Obviously, things don't look as smooth as they do on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and that's mainly because of the lack of a 90Hz display. That said, if you buy the OnePlus 7 you'll definitely be THAT guy with one of the fastest phones in the room, if not the fastest. Software OnePlus' OxygenOS has been my favorite OS for a long time now. It's very lightweight and comes with a ton of meaningful customization options that really help enhancing the user experience. Well, the OnePlus 7 comes with a bunch of new features like 'Zen mode', which basically turns off almost all features of the phone except phone calls and camera. Yes, I think it's a great addition. Apart from that, you also get things like a built-in screen recorder and your usual customization options like Navigation gestures, ability to change the theme, etc. © MensXP Cameras OnePlus phones have struggled with cameras in the past. But OnePlus has managed to put some good numbers on paper this time around. The OnePlus 7 has the same 48MP sensor found on the 7 Pro and combines it with a secondary 5MP camera for collecting extra information like depth. Yes, it only sports two cameras at the back as opposed to the triple camera setup found on the 7 Pro. © MensXP The results? Well, I'd say that decent and they'll get the job done. Much like the OnePlus 7 Pro, we could snap pictures that managed to blow our mind. Yes, it can capture some good images in daylight when there's a lot of light. The daylight images have decent dynamic range and they turned out nice and detailed. The 'Pro' mode lets you capture images at the said 48MP resolution. It uses Pixel-binning to achieve that resolution. Of course, I tried this too, but I found the results to be okay-ish at best. When it comes to the low light, things start to get a little muddy. Sadly, even the 'Night Sight' couldn't really do much to improve the overall quality. That said, it's definitely an improvement over the last year's OnePlus 6T. Here are some samples. Take a look at them yourself - One of the things that I'd like to point out is that the camera software still needs a lot of work. I absolutely hate the fact that I have to adjust the exposure manually every time I try to click a picture. I am running on an updated software build, so I hope things will get better over time with updates.  The camera performance, though it's an improvement over the last year's OnePlus 6T, I'd say is still not up to the mark. OnePlus 7 can take good images, don't get me wrong, but it still can't really compare with the likes the Pixel 3, Huawei P30 Pro, etc. So as long as you're viewing the pictures on your phone and not comparing it with any other phone, you'll be good. Battery Life The OnePlus 7 packs a 3,700 mAh battery, which means it's slightly smaller than that of the OnePlus 7 Pro. That, however, shouldn't really be an issue considering the fact that it has to push only a 1080p display with no crazy refresh rates. I personally ended my days with at least 20-percent battery remaining with a SOT of around 4 to 4 and a half hours. Yes, it's not all that impressive, but it's not something I feel I need to complain about either. Obviously, the battery performance is going to vary depending on the usage, but I am sure the OnePlus 7 can get you through a day's worth of usage without any issues. The Final Say Depending on how you look at it, the OnePlus 7 is either a OnePlus 6T on steroids or, you know, a slightly less exciting OnePlus 7 Pro. Either way, if you're buying the OnePlus 7, you'll be putting your money on a smartphone that's going to be hard to beat by any phone maker this year when it comes to value for money. It's a phone that packs a stunning display, solid performance thanks to the Snapdragon 855 SoC, and a decent pair of cameras. It's also a looker, so you won't feel like you're using a dated phone by today's standard. So you don't fancy all the bells and whistles of the premium OnePlus 7 Pro, then this is the flagship to buy. It's the phone for TRUE OnePlus fans who're predominantly looking to get a bang for their buck.

AIB Comedian Rohan Joshi Opens Up About Battling Anxiety & There's An Important Lesson For Us

Mental health issues in India are becoming a lot more easier to talk about. We still think thrice before coming out with what we're actually facing but a lot of people out there, who're going through or have gone through certain things make it a point to share their experiences, in order to make it easier for other people to be okay with it. I agree health issues like depression and anxiety are still very superficially dealt with and talked about in our country, but change is happening on a more malleable level, where bringing these issues forth and facing them consciously is the need of the hour. © Pinterest Celebrities more often than not have talked about battling certain mental health issues. Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan have actually spoken about battling depression in the past and have overcome it with the help of their family and friends. Through them we learnt that there is a constant that heals you when you're the darkest place in your life and that is the candid support of your family and friends. When you have someone around you aware of what you're going through, their constant check-ins are very important for your mental well-being. Battling with depression, anxiety or any other disorder alone is an unhealthy option and apart from proper therapy, a support structure really helps. © Pinterest Rohan Joshi, one of the faces of AIB (All India Backchod), came out and spoke about anxiety and how he'd been living it since his childhood and how he came out of it with the help of his family and friends. While he still struggles to deal with it, he knows at the end of the day, he has enough people to turn to, to guide him and check on how he is doing. And that is the most important thing ever, to come out of something that's so overpowering at times. Rohan spoke to Human of Bombay about how he has been dealing with anxiety since he was in college, when a college professor gave him a hard time. Even though he worked hard to put his issues of anxiety at bay, he still gets affected when someone negatively comments on his work, till date. But what kept him going through these years was the ardent support and love he got from his dear ones. © Instagram "I had my first panic attack when I was 19. It started when a teacher in my engineering college began bullying & failing me. Once I even copied an assignment that got full marks, and he still failed me! It got so bad that one day, I threw up just outside college. I ran away to a beach & sat there for 5 hours. Soon, that became a pattern. I was very afraid of going to college. But I couldn't tell my parents I wanted to quit – as an Indian student, it's a sin to drop out! I waited until I was asked to leave because of low attendance & then told my parents. At first, they were upset. It was shameful for them that I had quit. We'd barely talk – so I took up an internship to get out of the house. Eventually, we made up – they weren't upset because I dropped out, it was because of how I did." On coping up with his issue till date, Rohan adds, "At my moms suggestion I joined a media course. There, it was better, but I wasn't okay. There were days when I couldn't get out of bed or I'd chew the insides of my mouth to shreds because I was so restless. I'd even lash out at my loved ones. I began working as a stand-up comedian, so I spent a lot of time on social media, and it can be very toxic. Simple comments like, 'You're not funny, quit!' would make me overthink & I'd feel like everything I was doing was pointless.  I hit rock bottom after the AIB roast debacle. Imagine waking up to the whole media calling you a stain on the face of the nation! I felt helpless when the cops showed up at my mom's door. I didn't know how to face people, so I'd just stay at a friend's place for days.  I was in a very dark place. But my family & friends never gave up on me. Even today, I wake up to messages like, 'Hey, just a feelings check!' I went for therapy, took up exercise, and disconnected from things that triggered my anxiety. But I still have bad days. No matter how much I try to not get affected by a random person's words, it happens. But I'm learning to deal. My journey of self-healing is an ongoing battle, and I'm okay with that. A lot of people fail to recognise them as a problem and often pass them off as sadness or a 'phase'. Well, honestly, it's not a phase, it's something one has to consciously fight and come out alive. If you recognise a pattern of depression or anxiety in someone you're close to, make it a point to be as supportive as you can for them.

Billionaire Warren Buffett Is Inviting People For Lunch & We Wonder If It's Buffet Or À La Carte

No matter how fancy, lavish or elaborate your lunch plans are, they can never come close to that lucky person who will get a chance to grab a 'billion dollar' lunch with the 'Oracle Of Omaha' aka Warren Buffett. Imagine how surreal that experience will be, where you are sharing a table with none other than Warren Buffett, world's third-richest person whose net worth is $83.2 billion.  Reuters Will the wine be more expensive than the one a restaurant served accidentally to a customer, or will the steak be covered with gold leaf sheets? Will they use gold crockery or table mats made from currency notes? I know it sounds bizarre, but I don't know what having lunch with a billionaire feels like. But, you can...only if you participate in the auction and win it.  Warren Buffett's annual 'power lunch' event is back (now in its 20th year) and the bidding has reportedly begun for the same. Buffett is auctioning the lunch to raise money for the Glide Foundation, which aims to fight against poverty in San Francisco.  Pexels According to reports, the winner (who can invite up to seven friends) will share the meal at New York's Smith & Wollensky steakhouse, which is said to be one of the most expensive places to eat. So far, Buffett has raised close to $30 million for Glide, but it doesn't look like he's going to stop anytime soon. But, it won't be easy to grab lunch with the world's third richest person. In 2012, an anonymous bidder raised close to $3.46 million, so to win your chance, you will have to top that amount.  Reuters The bidding started on Sunday at $25,000 (Rs. 17.4 lakh approx.) and will end on Friday, May 31st. While we'll get to know about the lucky winner by Friday, we wonder whether it will be a buffet or à la carte.

ICC World Cup 2019: 5 Pakistan Players Who Can End Their Losing Streak Against India This WC

The Pakistan cricket team is probably the most unpredictable thing about the ICC World Cup 2019, which begins in a couple of days in England & Wales.  While their loss to a team like Afghanistan in their warm-up games shows just how bad the team can be, they consist of a few extremely talented players who can take Pakistan cricket to a new high, maybe even get their first ever World Cup victory against the Indian cricket team. Here are the five key players of the team who can win it all for the cricket-crazy nation: 1. Babar Azam © Reuters Referred to as the “Virat Kohli of Pakistan”, Babar Azam plays like the Indian skipper too. At the age of 24, Azam easily dominated some of the deadliest of bowlers on the current time in Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier at the Proteas' home ground in South Africa a couple of months ago and seems to never lose his form with the bat. In his career in adolescence, Azam has scored 2544 runs in just 62 ODIs which includes 8 tons and 11 half-centuries. In 2019, Azam has batted in 10 innings for his team and scored 472 runs with an average of 52.4 runs per innings. 2. Imam-ul-Haq © Reuters Being the nephew of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Imam faced a lot of pressure during his introduction to international cricket during the U-19 Asia Cup in 2012. A fighter that he is, Imam has brought his flamboyant stroke-play to every match that he has played ever since. His debut for the national team of Pakistan occurred in 2017 against Sri Lanka, in which he not only chased the total and won the match but also struck his first ODI hundred. Imam's ODI journey has seen him play in 27 games while scoring a total of 1381 runs including his career's best single-inning performance, a 151 against the World Cup 2019 hosts a couple of weeks ago.  3. Fakhar Zaman © Reuters Probably as unpredictable as the Pakistan team, Fakhar Zaman is the opening batsman who will either bring you runs in big bundles or will not bring them at all. The series against England was the perfect example of his uncertainty as a batsman. Having said that, when he does stick to the crease, there is no force in the cricketing world that could stop him from getting a half-ton for his side. In his career, Zaman has featured in 34 ODIs, putting up 1585 runs on the board with a decent strike rate of 97.83 through his career. He has batted in 10 ODI innings this year and scored 367 runs.  4. Hasan Ali © Reuters While the team, which was once feared for their bowling attack, is now in search for some good bowlers themselves, 24-year-old Hasan Ali is probably the best they have heading into the World Cup, who's reverse swing with a slightly-used ball has got him some important wickets throughout his career. Ever since his 2016 debut in the ODI format of the game, Ali has scalped 78 wickets in just 47 matches with an economy rate of 5.56. 2019 has been a little expensive for the bowler as he has given an average of six runs per over in the past five months while collecting only five wickets. 5. Asif Ali © Reuters Pakistan's bravest athlete, Asif Ali faced a tragic loss in his personal life when cancer took away his two-year-old daughter from him a week ago. Aware of his duties towards the team and his fans, Asif returned to England to join the squad yet again before they take on West Indies on 31st May 2019. Stepping onto the crease at the number seven spot, Ali is known for hitting it strong and long on command. Ali has mustered 342 runs in the 16 games that he has played in the ODI format with a fierce strike rate of 131.03. In 2019, two of the four ODIs that he was a part of saw him raising his bat in the air for half-tons scoring 142 in total this year.

ICC World Cup 2019: 5 Key Players From Sri Lanka Who Need To Step Up At The Mega Event

For a team that upstaged the mighty Australians in the final to win the 1996 World Cup, Sri Lanka has, sadly, failed to follow it up at the major ICC events. The Lankan brigade came mighty close to securing their second World title in 2011, only to suffer a brutal heartbreak at the hands of Team India in the final. Since then, a lot has changed, but, sadly for Sri Lanka, not for the greater good. With their decorated cricketers calling time on their respective careers, needless to mention the deep infighting and disharmony, the Lankans have struggled for experience, with the young guns in desperate need for guidance and experience. Having lost the ODI and T20I series against England in October 2018, the Lankans were forced to endure whitewash defeats in New Zealand (3-0) and South Africa (5-0) which pretty much sums up their sorry state of affairs. Going into the World Cup, the Lankan fans will have bare minimum hopes (on realistic grounds) as this squad looks far from Arjuna Ranatunga's champion side from the 1996 edition. While getting their players acclimatised to the English conditions will be the first of the many hurdles they'll face, Sri Lanka will surely need the following players to step up big time if they intend to challenge stronger teams at the World Cup: Lasith Malinga © Reuters For a man who has 322 wickets in 218 ODIs, Lasith Malinga needs no introduction to seam bowling. The 35-year-old has been one of the impactful players for Sri Lanka over the years. And, going into the World Cup this year, the Lankans will desperately need the veteran to once again deliver the goods to pin down the opposition. Age might be catching up with the right-arm bowler, but Malinga's searing inswinging yorkers from his peculiar round-arm action are as destructive and distinctive as they were in the past. His cunning variations and lengths are one of the reasons why he still holds the record for most wickets in consecutive deliveries at the World Cup - something he achieved against South Africa at the 2007 edition. Angelo Mathews © Reuters One of the highly-rated players in the Lankan squad, Angelo Mathews has had his share of ups and downs in the recent past. In 2018, he was stripped of his captaincy owing to Sri Lanka's disastrous campaign at the 2018 Asia Cup. Since then, Mathews has claimed that he was made a "scapegoat" for his side's dismal show and continues to have his differences with coach Chandika Hathurusingha. But, despite his troubles, Mathews remains a vital cog in the Lankan set-up, especially at the coveted World Cup. His presence in the squad not only provides the much-needed solidarity to the otherwise brittle middle-order but also bolsters their bowling attack. Given his recent rifts with the management, Mathews should use the World Cup as an opportunity to reaffirm his credentials as a vital player. Dimuth Karunaratne © Reuters With Malinga struggling to keep the team together and Mathews unable to strike a chord with the team management, the Sri Lankan selectors were left with no choice but to appoint a total outsider - DimuthKarunaratne (coach Hobson's preferred choice) - as the captain of their World Cup side. Returning to ODI cricket after four years, Karunaratne began his captaincy stint on a positive note. During their ODI match against Scotland earlier this month, the left-hander led from the front scoring 77 runs in Sri Lanka's 35-run triumph (D/L) - a victory after eight straight defeats. He might not have been around as much as one would've liked, but Lanka will surely need Karunaratne's leadership skills to bolster their chances at the ICC mega event. Thisara Perera © Reuters Another veteran in the Lankan brigade, Thisara Perera has rediscovered his form to become a key player in recent times. While bowling is ostensibly Perera's major skill, often deployed in the middle-order, he is also capable of delivering furious finishes to an innings. Perera will need to deliver the goods with both bat and ball as an inexperienced side like Sri Lanka could surely use his all-round abilities to stay afloat in the tournament. Kusal Perera © Reuters Making his debut in 2013, Kusal Perera was immediately likened to batting great Sanath Jayasuriya for his style of play. Forging his career with aggression and reliability in equal parts, the left-handed batsman established himself as one of Sri Lanka's go-to openers in limited-overs cricket. Battling injuries in the recent past has surely affected Perera's form, but the strokeplay, the range of shots and the power-hitting style that he possesses will surely be crucial for Sri Lanka in England &Wales. Opening the innings, the Lankan fans will hope Perera rediscovers his form quickly to get them off to flying starts in the tournament.

6 Records That 'Avengers: Endgame' Has Already Broken In Just One Month

'Avengers: Endgame' was honestly the most-anticipated movie of all time, especially since the cliff-hanger ending of 'Avengers: Infinity War'.  For the entire year between the two movies, fans were just predicting, coming up with theories about what could happen and a lot of them actually turned out to be true. (I just wanted the Ant-Man going up Thanos' butt one to be real, but whatever.) So, it's not surprising that ever since April 26th, the biggest MCU movie has been breaking all records left, right, and centre. From quickly climbing up in the list of the highest-earning movies, to becoming the highest opening movie in India, 'Endgame' has broken records all over the globe. The movie completed one month yesterday, so here's looking back at all the great records it has already made and made Marvel Studios over $2.5 billion richer: 1. Biggest Global Opening Weekend With a $1.2 billion worldwide box office opening, 'Endgame' beat the record previously held by 'Infinity War'. 2. Highest Grossing Opening Day In India Beating out all the Hindi movies, 'Endgame' earned over Rs 53 crore on the first day itself and set a record. I think we all can vouch for this one just because of how much of a struggle it was to get first day tickets. 3. Highest Grossing Hollywood Movie In India Again, no surprises here. The movie has earned over Rs 350 crore till now. 4. Fastest Movie To Hit 1.2 Billion USD It took five days, just five days, for the movie to reach one freaking billion dollars. I can't even imagine how much money that actually is. 5. Fastest To Reach All The Main Check Points An extension of the previous point, it's also the quickest movie to reach all the checkpoints - $500 million, $1 billion, $1.5 billion, $2 billion, and $2.5 billion. It took 'Avatar' 72 days to reach $2.5 billion, 'Endgame' did it in 20 days. 6. Second Highest Grossing Movie Of All Time Yes, it hasn't quite beaten 'Avatar' yet, but it still did manage to do so with all the other movies on the list to take up the second spot for now. We all know 'Endgame' is coming for 'Avatar' soon.

Payal Rohatgi Now Wants A Hindu Nation After Calling Raja Ram Mohan Roy A 'Traitor', Gets Trolled

Remember Payal Rohatgi, the social media sensation? Well, I hope you detected the sarcasm in that very statement. But why am I talking about her? That's because she's back again, to indulge in some mindless banter, to irk the proletariats in the worst way possible. It's just her visible affinity to waste time over Twitter and other forms of social media, and this time around, she's outdone herself again. © Twitter Recently, over a Tweet, the 'damsel in distress' spoke about the age-old practice of Sati and called Raja Ram Mohan Roy a traitor. And now, she demands a so-called 'Hindu' nation.  Twitter is, of course, furious over her lopsided thought process, but we can't help and substantiate a good amount of humour through her thread. Truth Behind Sati Pratha in India  https://t.co/x1vn5l6Xcy via @YouTube #Jauhar was an incident related to Padmavati during Mughal Khiljis invasion. Later society with d help of traitors like Raja Ram who Britishers used 2 divide society made Sati into an evil forceful practiceð — PAYAL ROHATGI & Team -BHAKTS of BHAGWAN RAM (@Payal_Rohatgi) 26 May 2019 So, as we all know, Raja Ram Mohan Roy was a social reformer, known for his efforts to abolish the practice of Sati and child marriage. But after Payal tweeted a video on the Sati tradition named 'the truth behind Sati Pratha', she called Ram Mohan Roy a traitor , saying "#Jauhar was an incident related to Padmavati [movie] during Mughal Khiljis invasion. Later society, with the help of traitors like Raja Ram, who Britishers used to divide society, made Sati into an evil forceful practice. (sic)" She also called him a 'chamcha', saying the Britishers used him to 'defame the Sati Tradition' © Twitter Her Tweet said: "No he was a chamcha to Britishers who used him to defame the Sati tradition. Sati tradition was not compulsory but was introduced to prevent the prostitution of Hindu wives by the hands of Mughal invaders. It was the woman's choice. #FeministsofIndia Sati was not regressive." No he was a chamcha to Britishers who used him to defame the Sati tradition. But of course, Twiteratti will not let this one go! Behan, bas kar de yaar. https://t.co/vcqXTRtjrm — Abhishek BaxiابھÛØ´ÛÚ© ‏‎‎ à¤à¤à¤¿à¤·à¥à¤ (@baxiabhishek) 26 May 2019 I think you are mixing  jauhar with Sati system.

Raja Ram Mohan Roy, the great reformist, is now a “chamcha” of the British! Wonderful. Here come new India's historians. https://t.co/ToBeE68Hme — Pritish Nandy (@PritishNandy) 26 May 2019 The practise was never a norm and was never prevalent ...it was there practised by certain jaati groups(caste is a wrong word) and not by all  ...it was already dying the time british entered ...this thing is taught to beat the hindu side rather unfairly — Aryaveer (@Aryavee83533418) 26 May 2019 Jauhar and Saka never happened when Rajput fought with any Hindu king as even after defeating the enemy king, women and children were given due respect.
Jauhar happened only when Rajputs fought with Mughals or Afghans, as when Mughals defeat them, they treated women like animals. — भारत नरà¥à¤¶ (@ResoluteAction) 26 May 2019 In response to this outpour, India's darling stated that she was not trying to glorify Sati Pratha, while raising the issue of Triple Talaaq. "I am not glorifying it, I am putting across the history of its origin. It was due to Mughal invaders that #Sati started in the 1st place. Understand your history. And yes no one is practising it NOW nor am I asking anyone to practice it. But #TripleTalaq is still ON. (sic)" - Payal Rohatgi on Twitter. Apart from her two cents on the custom of Sati, Payal also went ahead to demand a 'Hindu' nation! हम हिनà¥à¤¦à¥ à¤à¥ भॠà¤à¤ दà¥à¤¶ à¤à¤¾à¤¹à¤¿à¤ à¤à¤¿à¤¸à¥ हम à¤à¤ªà¤¨à¤¾ दà¥à¤¶ à¤à¤¹ सà¤à¥à¥¤à¤ªà¥à¤°à¥ विशà¥à¤µ मà¥à¤ à¤à¤ भॠदà¥à¤¶#HinduNation नहà¥à¤ हà¥à¥¤à¤¹à¤° दà¥à¤¶ मà¥à¤ हम #minority हà¥à¤ à¤à¤° à¤à¥à¤ भॠदà¥à¤¶ भारत à¤à¥ हिनà¥à¤¦à¥ सà¤à¤¸à¥à¤à¥à¤¤à¤¿ à¤à¥ नहà¥à¤ समà¤à¤¸à¤à¤¤à¤¾ as #Hinduism à¤à¤¾ origin हिà¤à¤¦à¥à¤¸à¥à¤¤à¤¾à¤¨ मà¥à¤ तॠहà¥à¤à¥¤ So secular हà¥à¤à¤° भॠभारत #HinduRashtra हॠसà¤à¤¤à¤¾ हॠð pic.twitter.com/Rat6OADT7X — PAYAL ROHATGI & Team -BHAKTS of BHAGWAN RAM (@Payal_Rohatgi) 26 May 2019 Okay, basically, what she's trying to say is even if India's a secular country, it should predominantly be a Hindu nation (really?) because only Hindus are entitled to a sense of belonging here. Are you only worried about the external terrorismð — Harry Scousser (@HarryScousser) 27 May 2019 This isn't a Hindu Nation, it's a Nation for one and all. It's called Bharat for a reason. Apart from all that, there is something to be said about Pankaj and the kind of roles he plays. To call them mainstream or insignificant would be a mistake that can only arise from naivety. If there is one thing that must be kept in mind, it is that more screen-time does not equal to good roles when it comes to someone like Pankaj Tripathi. © Twitter Without taking up a lot of space, Pankaj has delivered some very fine performances which have a lot of substance in them.  While we can appreciate and admire his past works, here are 5 'hatke' roles that Pankaj Tripathi is set to play in upcoming Bollywood films, that will only increase his fandom manifold: 1. '83 Based on the life of legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev and his claim to fame with 1983 World Cup win, the film will see Pankaj Tripathi essaying the role of the former manager of Indian cricket team PR Man Singh in the film and honestly, we can't wait to see Ranveer Singh and Pankaj Tripathi together on-screen! © Twitter 4. ASUS Has Launched A Stunning Leather & Gold Laptop And We Want One Right Now

Computex 2019 is currently underway, which means it's time for us to check out some cool new hardware products.  After AMD's new chipset announcement, now ASUS has decided to turn up the heat with some kickass products. The company launched a ton of products today, however, it's new “Edition 30” ZenBook laptop is what caught our attention. So, ASUS is celebrating its 30-year-anniversary with this new special edition laptop called the ASUS ZenBook Edition 30. Before we talk a bit more about the product itself, let's just take a moment to appreciate how awesome the laptop looks - © YouTube ASUS The new ASUS ZenBook Edition 30, as you can see, sports a white leather lid cover and an 18-karat rose gold logo, which resembles Star Trek's Starfleet insignia, no? According to ASUS, every piece of leather used to make these laptops have been hand selected, and each panel cover is meticulously sewed by a master tailor. Yes, it sounds like overkill, but hey, it's a limited edition product. Internally, the ZenBook Edition 30 is powered by Intel's 8th Gen Core i7 processor coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and PCIe SSD storage. For graphics, the laptop uses Nvidia's GeForce MX250 discrete GPU. It sports a 13-inch display on the front with minimal bezels. With a 95-per cent screen-to-body ratio, ASUS says this is the world's smallest 13-inch laptop. ASUS is also making special accessories for this laptop. There's a pearl white mouse and a leather sleeve, both of which look equally good.  Sadly, ASUS won't tell us when the laptop will go on sale and for how much, so you can't really buy it just yet. Even once it's up for grabs, we're sure it's not going to be cheap.

Kit Harington Finding Out Jon Snow Kills Dany Is More Emotional Than Jon Actually Killing Dany

When your character has always been the good guy no matter what (even when you have to execute people who literally murdered you), finding out that you have to kill that one person you love has to be a hard and emotional thing.  Poor Kit Harington was so distraught, so much in disbelief when he learned that Jon Snow is the one who'll have to stop the 'mad queen' who is also his aunt and the person he loves. (He's also a Targaryen - not that it mattered - so incest is okay I guess) A new documentary called 'The Last Watch' which basically shows what was happening behind-the-scenes while the filming and production of Season 8 of 'Game of Thrones' was taking place is out. It shows all the actors preparing and shooting for the final season, and learning the ending and their character's fate.  The documentary also shows the table read for the final episode and well, Kit's real reaction to finding out Jon kills Dany and well, as expected, it's the same as our reaction to that scene. He's so emotional, almost crying, that people are calling it better than the actual final scene.  Look at it yourself. Poor Kit is having a proper existential crisis. And, compare to the episode. The best part is Emilia Clarke's reaction. How are her eyebrows like that? I mean, people aren't exaggerating that much. Kit looks like he went through so many emotions in just a few seconds. Obviously Sophie knew. The stages of Jon finding out he was the one to kill Dany.

Note: Kit Harington did not read his script ahead of time, so this is him finding out for real. Sophie Turner obviously did, because LOOK AT THAT KNOWING SMIRK. Watching Kit Harrington learn that Jon Snow is going to kill Dany is actually more emotional than watching Jon kill Dany pic.twitter.com/eWGoFDljP8 — Laura Hudson (@laura_hudson) May 27, 2019 The best series of images to ever exist. Kartik Aaryan's Pink-Mint Retro White Trainers Pack Solid Performance Features & Cost Only Rs 8K

The thing that sets Kartik Aaryan's style game apart from everyone else, is the sheer relatability and cool quotient. He has been proving it time and time again with his woke sartorial choices, and he reminds us of it, every now and then. The latest instance was when he wore a pair of white trainers - a pair we think is one of the most playful pairs we have seen this year. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani © Hummel Kartik is wearing the Hummel Edmonton OG, a '90s inspired full-grain leather trainer that is a super-solid performance trainer. Featuring a moulded EVA midsole and a rubber outsole. It includes performance features, such as an internal stability shank and a shock-point EVA in the heel zone absorbing shocks to give you softer landings. © Hummel © Hummel The white and black Lycra details and red top aylets providing extra stability and a snug fit makes it a pair that is fashionable, as well as super functional. When it comes to how much it costs, it's surprisingly affordable considering its features. It costs 109 Euros, which when converted to Indian currency, comes close to around Rs 8400. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Coming to the rest of his outfit, we like the relaxed vibe that the versatile black and white aesthetic extends. When it comes to a sporty summer outfit, this one works like a charm. To more such woke fashion choices, Kartik!

Every Parent's Worst Nightmare Comes True As Students In 63 Gujarat Schools Fail In 10th Exams

We all have dreaded exams throughout our lives. Alright, at least most of us have dreaded examinations of any sort for a good part of our lives. But matters only got worse when we were in class 10th and 12th.  The kind of accumulative pressure (but mostly expectations) from peers, family, relatives, neighbours, to even the house help, milkman and sometimes, the school caretaker, amongst many others is something that most children at that 'tender' age are not able to handle. © Getty Images As if preparing and sitting for the examinations were not enough, we even had to deal with the nasty results that haunted us even in our dreams. (Don't tell us you haven't ever had one of those). However, while students (and parents) can deal with most kinds of mess related to our report cards, the one thing that was a plain red flag was getting an 'F', that is, failing.  Well, as you have already guessed from the headline of this article, this nightmare came true for hundreds of 10th class students in Gujarat yesterday. © Getty Images Out of the 8,22,823 students who appeared for the class 10th board examinations conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) earlier in March, only 5,51,023 students have managed to clear the exams. If reports are to be believed, results show that not even a single student from close to 63 schools in the state have been able to clear the Secondary School Certificate examinations. The overall pass percentage came to 66.97 per cent, which was slightly lower than 67.5 per cent of last year. © Getty Images We can't even imagine what the students and their parents must be going through right now, but this also throws light on the harsh reality of the sad state of our education system in many parts of the country, which requires better and deeper intervention at the earliest.

The Final Episode Of 'Game Of Thrones' Is Officially The Lowest Rated & No One's Surprised

Everyone knows what a disappointment the final episode of the biggest and much-loved TV series was, but was it the worst episode ever? Apparently, yes. The entire eighth season of 'Game of Thrones' has obviously received all the hate that it can get for ruining the entire series by just giving us the most unsatisfying ending while basically abandoning so many story arcs. Yes, a lot of things happening didn't make sense and totally out of character and the last episode turned out to be the worst offender.  The finale now has a low rating of 4.4 out of 10 and this is a show that always had almost perfect rating earlier for all the episodes. Yep, fans are mad, and rightly so.  Before this season, the lowest rated episode was 'Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken' which I feel was mainly because of the last scene where Ramsay Bolton rapes Sansa Stark on their wedding night while making Theon - or Reek - watch. Comparing this to the finale, the season five episode still had an 8.1 rating.  While it's disappointing how the show went from being the best to the worst so quickly, it's really not surprising since no one has held back from expressing what they really thought of the last ever episode of Game of Thrones. The final two episodes of #GameofThrones are the lowest rated of the series: https://t.co/u2W9bSHLeL pic.twitter.com/Rk9Bml4Izj — El monstruo del cine (@godzineblog) May 21, 2019 Good point. Now everyone hates game of thrones, I have to laugh. We make things become objects of adoration for years to then drag them down to the lowest level in a matter of seconds, why do you all forget so fast about the good things it brought to you??? — ð¦ (@7thsenseus) May 22, 2019 But. Game of Thrones actors don't get a say in whether or not the show ended well. They're on the inside. They're seeing friends working hard onscreen and will defend them. I respect their opinion on the viewer outrage, but this IS the lowest ranked finale, and there's reason for it.. — Kyle (@standrkm) May 22, 2019 Peacefully. me going to sleep knowing that episode 6 is the lowest rated episode in game of thrones history pic.twitter.com/gPiq2b9OU3 — maia (@amidalastark) May 21, 2019 Another kinda valid point, I guess. i get that this last season has been underwhelming but y'all are CHILDISH for rating this last run of episodes so low. the previous lowest rated episode was an 8.1, for reference. come on now. #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/tfsOuqW3hF — Jeff Zoldy (@jeffzoldy) May 20, 2019

Doordarshan Plans To Revamp Its Iconic Logo & People Can't Stop Dissing The Cringe-Worthy Options

Doordarshan - what is the first thing that comes to your mind as soon as you hear that one word? Out of nowhere, the signature tune of India's first television provider begins to play out, and the iconic 'eye' logo, always visible to the right of the screen, begins to materialise in our mind's eye. The kind of nostalgia the combination of these two simple elements of the channel are capable of inducing is something every millennial will be able to relate to. However, Doordarshan and its over half a century-old logo is now trying to salvage its withering spirit, by reinventing and revamping itself. To keep up with the demands of the changing times, and establish a strong youth connect, Prasar Bharati had announced a 'logo design contest' in 2017. They received close to 10,000 entries for the same, out of which five logos have been shortlisted. It will be good to recall that the iconic “eye” logo of Doordarshan was designed by Devashis Bhattacharyya and appeared on television screens for the very first time on April 1, 1976. As expected, the channel, as well as its logo, enjoys a lot of loyalty. © Twitter So when Prasar Bharati said in a statement that, "The new logo while recalling the strong nostalgia associated with the DD brand, should reflect the aspirations of new India," and now announced the shortlisted designs, they have received a lot of backlash from people on Twitter. Doordarshan Logo Contest - Here are the top 5 logo designs selected out of more than 10,000 entries. pic.twitter.com/qV8Ni2Zkj8 — Prasar Bharati (@prasarbharati) May 20, 2019 People still think the original logo is the 'best' and we agree. Best pic.twitter.com/wwfMJxqPya — Chowkidar à®à®¾à®¸à¯à®®à®¿à®à¯à®ªà®¿à®³à®¿à®©à¯à®à®°à¯ ð®ð³ (@cosmicblinker) May 21, 2019 Honestly, we are also disappointed at the selections. Fire the selection committee . This is worse than clipart! — Anusha Yadav (@anushayadav) May 21, 2019 People can't believe these really are the only “best” ones. Sach batao kitne entries aaye the? Kyunki apne desh ka talent pool itna kharab nahi ho sakta. — Krishna (@Atheist_Krishna) May 21, 2019 Some people are even offended. Any junior artist in our graphic set up would have done better. Hate this competition business. Which self respecting professional will submit for a competition? Which is why this is the outcome. — | nisheeth sharan | (@nisheethsharan) May 21, 2019 People had better expectations. i guess the designer wants to seal the final nail in DD's coffin! Please pay a good designer and get the job done! All the logos were stolen from internet! — Giridhar (@cgiridhar) May 21, 2019 We can totally see where all the angst and disappointment is coming from. But what are your thoughts on this?

These 10 Upcoming Horror Movies Are So Scary, They Won't Let Anyone Sleep The Entire 2019

There are some freaks amidst us (me) who love the horror movie genre. So much so, we'd watch them alone if we have to. I don't really know what it is. I guess it's the thrill of feeling something other than sadness or joy while watching movies? That particular tingle when you're watching a horror film is irreplaceable and mostly it's just that and, of course, the special effects, CGIs, production and sound effects that make good horror. © warner bros. pictures Now, just like every year, we bring you a list of special horror movies you must watch this year too.  It's always good to delve into a better screenplay and visual effects once in a while, and this year promises to take us away from the usual 'haunted house ghost' series and use a bit more creativity in creating horror content.  So, gear up because 2019 promises to be a year of good horror and I hope you catch all of them whenever they release. Here's a list of horror films (Hollywood) releasing in 2019: (1) BrightBurn © Sony Pictures releasing James Gunn's production of a dark horror tale of a superhero boy, who lands from outer space just like Superman did. But, he decides to use his superpower for evil and not for the good of mankind. We can call him the anti-Superman child! Releases on: May 24 Watch the trailer here (2) Ma © Universal pictures Octavia Spencer stars in this psychological horror that'll send shivers down your spine, just by watching the trailer. Tate Taylor, a lonely woman allows young people to throw parties in her basement but later, they realise something is definitely not right about her and things start to, let's see, fall apart? Releases on: May 31 Watch the trailer here (3) Annabelle Comes Home © Warner Bros pictures The first 'Annabelle' movie wasn't that scary, the second one was maybe something you could watch with the lights off, sitting alone on your bed, but the third one looks godawful scary AF by the looks of the trailer. It's actually 'Conjuring' meets 'Annabelle' and this time, the doll's not gonna give up, I feel.  This movie is a directorial debut for Gary Dauberman, who actually wrote the screenplay for 'IT' Chapters 1& 2, 'The Nun' and 'Annabelle: Creation' and is now all set to direct his first horror flick, a popular franchise.  So, the story revolves around the 'Conjuring' protagonists Ed and Lorraine Warren, who've kept the doll in their room of horrors, never to be touched or brought back to life again. But things don't always have to be the way they are, do they? Releases on: July 5 Watch the trailer here (4) Midsommar © A24 This one is surely one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The movie is a folk horror focused on a young girl reluctantly joining her boyfriend for a trip to Sweden, to join a 9-day festival taking place there. The trailer looks a bit ambiguous but still terrifying. Definitely something different horror-wise to catch. Releases on: August 23 Watch the trailer here (5) IT: Chapter 2 © Warner bros pictures The second part of the Stephen King scary clown novel is back with an absolute bang and we can't wait to see what this one's about. Part two will probably see folks from the Losers Club head back to Derry when the red-haired Pennywise resurfaces to get them, once again. The first part was a great success, so let's hope this one's equally scary. Releases on: September 6 Watch the trailer here (6) Zombieland 2 : Double Tap © Sony Pictures releasing The first one released in 2009 and it was a great watch, funny yet focused on zombies mostly. Remember Bill Murrey? Yup the cast is great and so is the plot and we can't wait to witness a couple of Zombie movies lined up this year. Releases on: October 11 Trailer not out yet (7) Child's Play © United Artists releasing Although the scary doll movie has maintained its sequels pretty well, the new one isn't a part of that. In fact, the new 'Child's Play' is the remake of the original one and it seems as scary as the first one was. The movie definitely has some old-school slasher vibe. Can't wait to see this again. Releases on: TBD Watch the trailer here (8) Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark © Lionsgate With Guillermo Del Toro's screenplay, this movie is based on the Alvin Schwartz books and seems quite interesting. The story is about a young woman with a troubled tale, who decides to turn the horrors of her life into a book, which is later discovered by some teenagers who actually experience the book come alive, through her stories. The movie, of course, won't be an anthology but a well stitched together narrative instead. Releases on: TBD Watch the trailer here (9) The Dead Don't Die   © Focus Features To add some light humour to an intense horrific year, we have another comical (of sorts) Zombie movie, with an awesome cast. The movie is obviously about a small-town police department battle some zombies. Of course, it's like any other Zombie movie but the cast surely makes this better. With Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Rozie Perez and Iggy Pop, this movie looks damn promising. Releases on: July 12 Watch the trailer here (10) Crawl © Paramount Pictres A young woman who tries to save her father from a category 5 hurricane is trapped in her own basement, with a huge Alligator floating about, trying to kill her. This one's a new-age version of 'Jaws' and 'Lake Placid' all mixed into one and yes, it does look scary. Releases on: August 23 Watch the trailer here So, there you have it. Ten awesome horrors releasing this year. I am not sure how many will release in the hall here, but if and when they do, catch them to keep your love for the horror genre alive!

A Mobile Version Of 'League Of Legends' Is On Its Way & We Can't Wait To Enter The Battle Arena

The good folks over at Tencent Games have been working hard to bring some of the most popular games to mobile phones.  They first started off with PUBG Mobile, which turned out to be a staggering success. The company also worked with Activision to bring 'Call of Duty' to mobile phones. Now, if the new reports are anything to go by, then it looks like Tencent is working with its US unit Riot Games to develop a mobile version of 'League of Legends', the world's most popular game. That's right, it looks like you'll soon be able to play 'League of Legends' on your mobile phones, and it's a huge deal. © Riot Games According to Reuters, multiple sources have confirmed that the mobile version of 'League of Legends' is Tencent's next big project. In fact, the company is said to have been working on the game for over a year now. The sources noted that Riot Games had declined Tencent's proposal to make the mobile version of 'League of Legends' years ago, following which the developer made multiple similar offerings like 'Honour of Kings', 'Arena of Valor', etc.  The 'Honour of Kings', in case you don't know, was launched back in 2015 and became the world's highest grossing multiplayer online battle arena game. © Riot Games 'League of Legends' is nearly ten-years-old and is said to be the most popular title with a long history. “'League of Legends' is like the World Cup, whereas 'Honour of Kings' is just the Asia Cup,” one of the sources said. Right now, we're not entirely sure when this mobile version of the game will launch. However, it'll most likely bring in more Asian players, who're known to play more mobile games over desktop or console. Needless to say, it'll also pour in more revenue. 'League of Legends' brought in $1.4 billion in revenue last year, which is just insane. Source: Reuters
