Tired of Covid-19? Want to get the hell out of your house and start leading a normal, maskless life again?
© iStock Well, you will have to wait a while buddy, because Coronavirus is apparently here to stay.
We'll tell you exactly why! In what was indeed another bizarre chapter of the "List Of Crazy Ways To Get Covid-19 In India", hundreds of people rushed to what is the newly constructed 'Corona Mata Mandir' in Uttar Pradesh. The temple, which has been set up under a neem tree in Shuklapur village of the Pratapgarh district of the state, was established so that people could offer their prayers to protect themselves from the deadly virus. ‘Corona Mata’ temple comes up under a neem tree at a village in Pratapgarh district

"Villagers collectively decided & set up the temple with belief that praying to the deity would definitely offer respite to people from Coronavirus," a villager said yesterday. pic.twitter.com/jA3SGU0RQE — ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) June 12, 2021 "After the deadly coronavirus wreaked havoc and snatched thousands of lives, we decided to set up 'Corona Mata' temple under a neem tree with a belief that praying to the deity would offer relief to the people from the deadly virus," a villager said.
According to reports, villagers had gathered many donations in order to set up the temple which has a mask-wearing white idol placed inside it called "Corona Mata". Now, while people have been asked to follow COVID guidelines of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, it was reported that large groups of people have been rushing to the temple to offer their prayers. ‘Plot To Portray Him As Villain,’ Shakib’s Wife Claims Conspiracy, Defends His Angry Reaction

Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan faced huge social media backlash after misbehaving with the on-field umpire, and kicking and uprooting the stumps during a local T20 cricket match on Friday. While Shakib has issued an apology for his actions, his wife Ummey Al Hasan has come out in defence of her husband claiming that a plot has been going on for a while to portray the all-rounder as a villain. She also said that there are many people who are supporting her husband for showing guts and standing up against all odds. “I’m enjoying this incident as much as the media is, finally some news on tv! It is great to see the support of the people who can see the clear picture of today’s incident at least someone has the guts to stand against all odds,” Ummey wrote on Facebook.  “However it is sad to see the main issue getting buried by the media highlighting only the anger that he showed. The main issue is the ongoing eye catching decisions of the umpires!"  “The headlines are really saddening. To me it is a plot against him that has been going on for a while to portray him as the villain in all circumstances! If you are a cricket lover beware of your actions!", she added.  Who’s this?
Is it Shakib al Hasan? pic.twitter.com/kk69rdyyod — Iceland Cricket (@icelandcricket) June 11, 2021 Shakib lost his temper not once but twice in a span of two overs during a T20 game between Mohammedan Sporting and Abahani Limited. Unhappy with the umpiring decisions, Shakib, in complete disregard to the match officials flouted several codes of conducts, kicking, uprooting and throwing the stumps on the ground.  Later, describing his actions as “human error”, Shakib rendered an apology to the authorities and cricket fans, promising not to repeat the same thing again in future.  "Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately," Shakib posted on Facebook.  "I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won't be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all  SAH," he added.  Shocker from #Shakib.. Surely he's a role model for many young Bangladeshi cricketers. And this behaviour is unacceptable.#Shakib @UTK_019 @Ayush70795293 @james92cricket @indianLoganwa @The_BarberPans @ClownNo69 @cricFan12987 pic.twitter.com/wXFqV8twFI — Mohan Kumar S (@mohan_sachin007) June 11, 2021 Such never-seen-before behaviour on a cricket field was heavily criticised by fans and experts alike, with some even demanding the Bangladesh Cricket Board to ban the all-rounder.

Kim Jong Un Calls K-Pop 'A Vicious Cancer', Promises To Execute Or Jail Those Listening To It

While millions of fans are either singing or dancing or simply just obsessing to the tunes of K-pop, one of the most popular genres of music in the world right now, there is a certain Korean dictator who's having none of it.
© Reuters © Reuters BTS, SuperM, Black Pink, and EXO are a few of the wildly popular K-pop bands who have made their way into the hearts and souls of music lovers across the globe.
© Reuters However, despite the catchy tunes of Korean popular music, North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un does not want the music to be anywhere near his homeland and has even gone on to the extent of calling it a "vicious cancer".
© AP It is suggested that the 37-year-old North Korean dictator believes that K-pop music has been corrupting the country's youth.
The end result? Well, Kim Jong Un and North Korean state media are actively rallying against South Korean pop culture which includes movies, K-dramas, and K-pop videos. © Change Last December, the dictator introduced new laws under which anyone caught watching or possessing South Korean content could be sentenced to up to 15 years of hard labor.
As per reports, the previous maximum punishment for fans of popular acts such as BTS was of around five years. © iStock What's worse is that the people who choose to smuggle in K-pop music could even face execution in the country.
© iStock Damn, that's a lot of punishment for just listening to some music. Well, I guess he really just wants everyone to turn on the K-Jong-un radio.
Apparently, Kim's war against K-pop is all down to his belief that the South Korean culture will end up corrupting the “attire, hairstyles, speeches, behaviors” of his homeland's youth. © iStock According to Jung Gwang-il, a defector who runs a network that smuggles K-pop into North Korea, Kim is kind of insecure about things.
“Young North Koreans think they owe nothing to Kim Jong Un,” “He must reassert his ideological control on the young if he doesn’t want to lose the foundation for the future of his family’s dynastic rule,” said Jung while speaking to The Times. Well, Kim, we don't know much about running an entire country, but clearly killing them or jailing them for listening to music doesn't really seem like the best way forward for earning the love and support of your countrymen.

Jaffer Wasim's Funny Response On Ashwin's Post Proves Why He Is The King Of Social Media

Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer is arguably one of the most likeable personalities out there on the internet, who keeps his fans entertained with witty replies and cheeky memes. A stalwart of Indian domestic cricket, the former opener has time and again proved there is no matching him when it comes to trolling someone or shutting down trolls with his street-smart replies -- take for instance his banter with former England captain Michael Vaughan. Jaffer’s supremacy as king of social media was once again established when he came up with a hilarious reply to a question posed by ace-India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Twitter. Sharing a picture with teammate Cheteshwar Pujara, Ashwin asked his followers to take a guess on what the Saurashtra batsman was telling him. Prizes for guessing what @cheteshwar1 is telling me here! pic.twitter.com/t9YDVzpOh1 — Mask up and take your vaccine🇮🇳 (@ashwinravi99) June 10, 2021 While Ashwin was flooded with some really interesting replies, it was Jaffer’s witty response that stole the show after which even the off-spinner couldn’t contain his laughter.“2016 WT20, 2019 WC semi sabka badla lega re tera White Walker. unbowed, unbent, unbroken #WTCFinal,” Jaffer replied. Using references from hit TV series Game Of Thrones and popular Bollywood movies Gangs of Wasseypur, Jaffer wrote that “white walker” Chetershwar Pujara will avenge all the major defeats India had suffered against New Zealand in various ICC tournaments, including the 2016 T20 World Cup and 50-over World Cup in 2019. Some guys also came up with ‘winter in coming’ instead of ‘winter is coming’, they have started with ‘Pujara is coming’ which is a bit funny. But it is a good way to acknowledge what I have done (for the team),” Pujara had said in an interview to BCCI.TV.  View this post on Instagram With less than a week left for the WTC final to begin, the Indian players are giving final shape to their preparations by playing an intra-squad game against each other in order to make up for the lack of any warm-up match in the build-up to the summit clash. 5 Dibakar Banerjee Films That Will Keep Everyone Hooked To The Screen

Dibakar Banerjee’s thriller, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, released recently and the direction of the film was largely praised by the audience. The film will keep you hooked to the screen and the film also exposes double standards of society when it comes to class and gender.
Also, it is Banerjee’s forte to use movies as a mirror for society and shed light on the injustices that happen in the world. His films always have on-point direction and perfect casting that has the power to engage the audience. So, here are a few of his films that prove he is one of the best filmmakers we have in the industry- Khosla Ka Ghosla In the film, a man named Kamal Khosla’s land is taken by a thug named Khurana and the film revolves around how Khoslas manage to take their own land from the thugs. This film is a typical Bollywood comedy that we all need to watch and get our minds off anything that is making us sad.
Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! This film starring Abhay Deol is going to keep you on your toes and not let you feel bored even for a minute. If you are hungry for a good laugh right now, this film is your go-to. Also, who’d want to miss Paresh Rawal’s tremendous acting? Exactly, no one!  Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! Only Banerjee had it in him to bring our favorite childhood heroes back to life. This film was a great crime mystery and also proved his skills of a great storyteller and he also switched between genres without losing signature style.
Lust Stories It was an amazing experience to watch Manisha Koirala on-screen in action. Also, the story was brilliantly presented. Banerjee presented a story of a woman who decided to take control of her desires and destiny. Banerjee managed to show Reena’s life in a way that you understand why she did what she did.
Mostly, characters like Reena have always been presented as anti-hero characters but that wasn’t the case here. Love Sex Aur Dhokha  This film was shot completely on a Handycam and proves that you don’t need exotic locations or item numbers to make a film work. The film interlinks three stories on love, sex, and dhoka and creates a compelling story that isn’t for the faint-hearted.

As soon as the BCCI made the announcement of the intra-squad match, the level of excitement among fans reached a whole new level and they began searching for ways to find out every bit of detail about how their favourite superstars fared in the game. Aishwarya Rai Says She'd Have Been 'Lynched' If She Had Done KJo's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'

One of your favorite Bollywood movies could have turned out very differently had actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a say in it.
© Reuters © Dharma Productions We all remember the much-loved trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukherjee as Rahul, Anjali, and Tina from the 1998 rom-com film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH) that made us all cry when we watched it for the first time.
© Dharma Productions The film, which was the directorial debut of Karan Johar, is remembered as one of the classic Bollywood Rom-coms that you watch on a Sunday while hogging on some ice cream and wishing if love stories indeed ended up like that.
© Dharma Productions Well folks, while KKHH was indeed a huge success along with other KJo movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., it could have all been very different for one big reason.
Apparently, for the role of Tina in the film, KJo had approached a host of stars, which included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the time. © Reuters However, Aish, who was just three movies old when she got the offer, turned it down out of the fear of being "lynched" by viewers.
While speaking with Filmfare, the 47-year-old actress said, "I'm in a catch-22 situation, really. Though I'm a newcomer, I'm compared with all the senior actresses." "If I'd done the film, it would have been tittered that, 'Look, Aishwarya Rai is back to doing what she did in her modeling days—leaving her hair straight, wearing minis, and pouting glamorously into the camera.' Ultimately, the hero goes back to the more real person. I know if I'd done Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I would have been lynched." Well, Aishwarya's loss was Rani's gain with filmmaker Aditya Chopra (now Rani's husband) recommending her for KJo's KKHH.  "It took months to cast for Rani’s part after Aditya Chopra recommended me her name," revealed Karan, after an event. Well, the rest is history. We could have never imagined the main leads of KKHH to be any different as the movie is literally a Bollywood classic now. © Dharma Productions Guess everything happens for a good reason.

Sharib Hashmi Aka JK Talpade From ‘The Family Man 2’ Has A Journey That Can Become A Legit Movie

Sharib Hashmi’s mantra for aspiring actors is to start following their ambitions early in their life and not wait as he did.
We have now seen him as JK Talpade in The Family Man 2 and it’s not wrong to say that we can’t imagine the show without his character, because he has done a commendable job displaying his powerful acting skills and also adding humour to the show. View this post on Instagram His journey has been a roller-coaster ride and he has dealt with many obstacles until he was finally able to make a mark.
From almost giving up his passion for acting to making JK a hit character on the show, Sharib has made a separate fan base altogether.  His journey started from the chawls in Mumbai and Sharib’s father ZA Johar was a noted film journalist.  His father wanted him to pursue acting after he finished his degree in Economics from Bhavan’s college.   View this post on Instagram In an interview with Your Story, he said, “While my parents were of the impression that I am good-looking, I had no such delusions. Also, even for character roles, I felt my height would be a problem. I just naively gave up on my dream without pursuing it.”  He got his first job as an Assistant Director to Nabh Kumar Raju for the film Hum Tumpe Marte Hai in 1998. In the same interview, he shared his experience working with the stars of that era.  “It is something that taught me a lot about the art of filmmaking. I have no formal training in acting or direction, so I learn everything on the sets. And the first film I worked on had stellar actors like Govinda, Urmila Matondkar, Dimple Kapadia, and Paresh Rawal. For a film buff like me, it was a dream come true. I want to become a director.”  View this post on Instagram He then went on to become a writer and wrote VJ links for MTV. He kept at it and it was in 2007 that he landed a role in Slumdog Millionaire. He then wanted to follow his passion for acting for real. He gave hundreds of auditions but was rejected in many, leaving him disheartened but he kept trying.  In an interview with Times Of India, he said, “When it comes to rejection, I have faced a lot of them, in fact, I have used these rejections as a motivating factor to work harder, fight back, and to become better each day. I always take these rejections very positively and it has helped me in becoming a better person and growing stronger in my craft.”  View this post on Instagram When things didn’t work, he had to leave his passion and look for a job as he was married and also had a child. His wife was supporting him but he still had to have a job to keep the house running. He again tried his luck in films but things changed when he got to call from the casting director of Yash Raj Films - Shanoo Sharma.    After giving an audition for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, he got the role of Zain, and at the same time, he bagged a role in Filmistaan. He even won the Best Actor in a comic role, Screen Award for his role in Filmistaan.  Things changed for good for the actor and after this, he didn’t look back and went on to do many other roles. He finally landed the role of JK Talpade in The Family Man. He has been a part of both seasons and would be continuing with his character in the third season too.  View this post on Instagram We wish only the best for the actor and we think his amazing journey actually has the potential to be documented as a film, such has been his struggle.

Quick DIY Spot Treatments You Can Trust To Get Rid Of A Stubborn Pimple Overnight

Ever got a pimple a couple days before a Tinder date or an important family event or a party? You are not the only unfortunate soul to have gone through the last-minute flare-ups. It mostly happens because of the stress that comes with the excitement of the event. However, it’s really annoying when your skin acts up right when you need to look your best.
© iStock What you do next is search quick solutions to get it out of the way but all you get is an extensive routine and a million products you should have started using 10 years ago. Let’s face it, nobody has time to apply dozens of products (who even has that many) or do a routine when you have an important occasion coming the next day.
© Instagram You can try popular internet hacks like applying toothpaste as a spot treatment but let me tell you, it only makes the situation worse and can even irritate or burn that spot on your face. What you should do is try natural, quick and easy spot treatments that are easily available at your home and are safe and really effective. Here are some such DIY spot treatments you can give a try.
© iStock Tea tree oilIt has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which makes it potent to kill bacteria and heal the pimple faster. Take a couple drops on a cotton swab and apply on the spot and wash it off after a few hours. Or, you can dilute it with some other natural oil, apply it on the zits and leave it overnight.   © iStock TurmericThe Indian spice is more than just a colour and flavour enhancer for the dishes. It is an excellent remedy for clear, acne-free skin. Packed with anti-bacterial and antifungal properties, turmeric can be used on the acne as a spot treatment. Add some honey or coconut oil to it and let it stay on the pimple for a few hours before scrubbing and washing it off.  © iStock Aloe VeraAloe vera is a godsend for those with oily and acne prone skin. It zaps excess sebum which is the number one reason you get pimples. Plus, it leaves the skin hydrated. Apply fresh aloe vera gel (fresh or packed) on your pimple and cover it with a piece of tissue so it doesn’t smear while you sleep. Wash it in the morning. It will dry out the pus-filled pimple and reduce redness as well. © iStock Neem oilNeem has been used for treatment for acne for years and it’s no surprise. It is an antimicrobial and antifungal ingredient that is known to give you spotless skin. You can use a neem paste made by grinding its leaves but if that’s too much trouble, try putting neem oil directly on the pimple. It works like a charm. © iStock Green teaMake yourself a hot cup of tea by brewing some green tea leaves but instead of drinking it, apply it on your acne to get rid of them instantly. It is full of antioxidants and antibacterial properties that keep your skin glowing and clear. Dip a cotton pad in cooled down green tea and tap it on the spots. Leave as it is for the night and wash off in the morning.  © iStock These can help reduce redness and size of the pimple overnight and take not more than five minutes to pull off. So trust them the next time you need a prompt solution for your pimple situation.

‘The Best Thing To Happen To Me Was Being Rejected By Singing Reality Shows:’ Vishal Mishra

Although he has been composing songs for over 6 years now, people still know Vishal Mishra for his Kabir Singh hit, Kaise Hua.  The song catapulted him into the limelight for the general audiences. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial His ardent fans and people in the industry know that Vishal has been composing songs since 2015, and has worked on films like Qarib Qarib Singlle, Munna Michael, Veere Di Wedding, Race 3, Saand Ki Aankh among many others.
© Instagram/vishalmishraofficial However, it was his song, Fir Muskurayega India that made him a household name.
The song became an anthem for the people of this country during one of its darkest phases. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial We sat down with the composer-singer and spoke to him about his process, about his upcoming work, and whether singing reality shows hold any value.
Edited excerpts: How have you been dealing with the lockdown? As an artist how do you deal with the mental confines that became a part of the lockdown? More than the physical lockdown it is the mental confines that have been problematic for me. You keep having certain kinds of thoughts. It has been a struggle dealing with them. My parents got Covid, and so, personally, I was really disturbed. I have been on my toes to feel happy and positive to create melodies. I feel happy and inspired because of my fans and listeners who feel they need to listen to my music, that even a few minutes of my work, helps them get through their day, that it takes their mind off of things. I try to get inspired by the love that I get. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial I feel for people such as artists and journalists. It is very difficult to do what we're doing in these times. Everywhere you look there is negativity, so it becomes difficult to put our creations out every day.
But because we're trying to do things for people and if it helps people in any way, then that becomes our duty and responsibility. I am glad that I released 10-12 songs during this period. It has kept me sane. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial How do you find that mental space to churn out these many songs, especially when you are disturbed on a personal level? Is taking a small break from creating music, not an option?
Finding the mental space is the most difficult job. But, when you have people who love your work and are looking for more of it, you deliver.  They're like a family that you are coming back to at the end of the day. If you have a fan who finds your music relaxing, and calming, you owe it to them - you have to create new music.  Personally, for me, I cannot exist, I cannot be without making songs. That is my only escape from the world. It is the love and support that I get from my fans that keeps me going. Last year, during the lockdown, you sang and composed Muskurayega India which became the unofficial anthem for many people? Are you working on something similar for this year as well? I am definitely planning something along those lines, but at this point, I would like to keep it a surprise. Which other singers or musicians have you been inspired by? Everyone! I try and learn from everybody. Artists always need to be open to things, that makes them happy and a better person. It is all about growth.  You can learn anything from anyone. I also learn the bad stuff from people, it gives me an idea of what not to do. I am always open to learning from anyone and everyone. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial Talk us through your creative process, how do you go about making melodies?
It's very chaotic. My thoughts fight. At times, I feel there is a war going on in my head, with one idea that wants to reign supreme and then another one trying to do the same thing. Whichever idea prevails, is what you get to listen to.  I believe this is how it is with musicians. There is some clarity, but then, there are also so many emotions, which fight each other inside your head. It is chaotic but peaceful What drives this chaos, and how do you then refine this chaotic process? I just want to make music that touches people & heals them. I believe that all humans feel the same emotions. How one feels them might be different, but what they feel is the same.  Everybody needs that something that makes them feel wanted, that they are getting healed. I believe there are only two kinds of songs. One that speeds up a car, or one that slows it down. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial You participated in Indian Idol, right? Do reality singing shows really help singers with their careers?
I auditioned for a lot of seasons and was finally selected in season 6. Reality shows are a great platform, there's no doubt. People definitely see you. I was eliminated before people could even see me.  They are great platforms but they don’t help you as such. Whether you’re seen on the show or not, you have to be at it constantly, you have to improve yourself and show people that you can do it, that you are dependable. Only then will you get work and opportunities.  It all comes down to hard work and practice. My guru used to say that even if there is tons and tons of gold in a field, and in the middle, there is a small diamond, people will always go for the diamond. You have to be that diamond.  The best that Indian Idol and other singing reality shows did for me was to reject me. That made me wonder where I was going wrong. I accept failures with a lot of happiness. It is like what people say - success doesn't teach you, failure does. I am glad that the judges from across many reality shows, with whom I wanted to work, I got to work with them, despite being rejected by them. © Instagram/vishalmishraofficial Do you feel that social media platforms and platforms like Spotify and YouTube are saturated with talent and it has become much harder to stand out, or do you think there is enough space?
It is all about talent. If you're good enough, people will find you. Even if you start putting out your songs on a place like Instagram, and you're really good, people will start listening to you.  I feel this is a great time for people to get started because it is much easier now to put your work out easily. You don't need to carry a film or a tape everywhere you go, nor do you have to chase people for their number.  I think this is somewhat inspiring that it is easier to reach people. If you're good enough, people will find you, you will have your audience. We’ve heard it over the grapevine that you are doing something with SS Rajamouli for RRR. Is there anything that you can say about the collaboration? At this point, all I can say is that I am definitely a part of it, but other than that I really can't say anything else. View this post on Instagram Do you ever feel the pressure to put songs out back to back, especially from your fans?  As I said, I cannot be with creating music. I do feel that pressure, but then, I have over 5000 songs melodies and compositions of my own, on my phone.   I make 3-4 melodies a day, that has been my practice. Making a song takes time, that is why, I don't have time for myself, I put a lot of heart into the technicalities. But then I am a little lazy as well, so I am glad that they put that pressure on me. I think that is purely out of love.

Father’s Day 2021: 6 Ways In Which My Single Dad Gave Me A Gender-Neutral Upbringing

Not. A. Sorry. Story. Guys. There I said it.  Before one gets fixated on the key phrases ‘gender-neutral upbringing’ and ‘single dad’, and decides that maybe in the spirit of pride month this is gonna be another personal account about coming out of the closet, let me clarify that it's not. Well, in all seriousness, this is more of a coming-of-age story than out of the closet. A story of a '90s kid who was born to a set of parents who may not be ‘woke’ enough to know the exact meaning of LGBTQ+ but have been liberal enough to raise a child in an environment free from gender stereotypes.  Yes, even in the 90s when the phrase gender-neutral parenting wasn’t even popular, let alone it becoming a movement. Here’s how my parents, and when I lost my mother to cancer at 7, my dad alone endeavoured to raise me beyond gender rules.   Why am I telling this story btw? For it has helped me navigate life better, and metamorph into a more confident, compassionate, and capable human being. It may just help you too. Toys Have No Gender. Come To My Tea-Party © Imgur My parents didn't have a child for a long time. But with tons of Mannats and doctor’s visits, came my brother into the world after eight long years of marriage. And next, two years later, came me.
We were precious, all kids are, but our parents decided to never say no to their rainbow babies for anything.    So, when at a toy shop, I showed interest in buying dolls, I never heard a no.  While my elder brother loved cars and animal soft toys, I enjoyed playing with dolls, throwing imaginary tea parties and playing house-house. My dad would be my biggest cheerleader, I remember he once helped me throw a birthday party for my doll ‘Annie’ (my favourite from my huge collection of 20 dolls). He bought me patties and jam rolls, and helped me send out handwritten invites to friends to come over to celebrate Annie’s birthday and her plain gorgeousness.  I soon graduated from dolls to babelaids, board games and gully cricket but in retrospect, I feel that the whole experience of playing with dolls inculcated in me a sense of deep nurturing and care. Today, I love gardening and have a far deeper understanding and connection with nature than my peers. __ECOMPRODUCT__1661__ Talent Has No Gender Rule, Pursue What Excites You © iStock By the time my doll phase fizzled out, I had lost my mom. Our happy lives living by the adage, hum do, hamare do, came to a standstill.
I remember feeling like Alice In Wonderland, lost, blindfolded.  I tucked my dolls away, and with a sense of deep-seated grief, resorted to dancing. I had to find a way to release my anger and grief. I would cross-dress for fancy dress competitions, I once played a japanese lass and charmed everyone by singing ‘Sayonara Sayonara’ and on the same day in elocution category recited a poem about a Sainik (soldier). My dad, Behenji (my bua/aunt) and Laali (my aunt) would encourage me with equal pride to do both. By middle-school I developed a keen interest in playing Basketball and Lawn Tennis in school and at the same time I would come home to resume my Belly dancing and contemporary dance lessons.  My dad bought me the best Lawn Tennis racket trending at that time and also gladly paid for my dance class.
Little ways in which it shaped my thinking, and very early on I learnt that talent can’t be confined in gender boxes and we must pursue what excites us. Be it dance, gardening or music.  __ECOMPRODUCT__1779__ Love & Acceptance Always Win Over Bullying © Scrolldroll I was subjected to immense bullying in school by my peers for being more artistic and ahead in elocution, and bullying is something that can scar you for life.
But I would come back home to so much love and acceptance that everything else would look small in front of that. My dad would daily ask us, both my brother and I, sabse bahadur kaun (who’s the bravest) and we both would scream ‘ME’. And that affirmation of being brave would empower us in ways that no bullying could eat into.  I remember sobbing like an infant after listening to Sridevi’s ending speech in the film English Vinglish, not just because it made me miss my mom terribly, but because the point that she made, that family will always accept you and would never be judgemental, hit home. Being Considerate To The Needs Of All Genders © Pinterest While I was being bullied in school for being more creative than others, back home I was fostering a stronger bond with my sister (cousin). We would enjoy reading fashion magazines with equal ease as playing board games.
My sister would often send me to buy sanitary napkins for her and she would have me repeat ‘ask for with wings, okay?’. And my dad would sit and listen, no awkwardness or embarrassment would kill the vibe of the room.  We were encouraged not to carry a slip that we could stealthily pass to the chemist but say it aloud. Something that in retrospect has taught me to be more accommodative to the needs of all genders and establish that difference is a positive attribute.  Cooking & Cleaning Isn’t A Girl’s Job © Instagram Though my dad always loved cooking, after my mom’s passing, it became more like a duty (Till he remarried and had somebody to ‘share’ the work with).
Growing up watching my dad cook or do the dishes, helped us rise above the gender roles.  And it also prepared us better for the future. So, last month when my entire family tested COVID positive, except me, the household chores and responsibilities didn’t seem overwhelming to me at all. I just took up to it naturally, thanks to my dad for leading by example that there are no gender roles when it comes to household chores. __ECOMPRODUCT__1663__ There Is No Such Thing As A Woman’s Drink © iStock My dad who has been a hardcore whiskey drinker all his life, gets equally happy to see (my brother and I) sip our wine. Never did he ever tell us that men must drink only whiskey or scotch.
In fact, he taught us the right way of drinking. He would tell us that there are three D’s of drinking —Dilution, Duration and Diet, always keep up with these three drinking etiquettes and you will be sorted in life.  Thank you Papa, for that valuable lesson. Cheers! __ECOMPRODUCT__1780__ Final ThoughtsFor most people, gender is the first label we receive. You are born and the nurse whispers, it’s a boy. The whisper turns into a chatter, and the chatter into a celebration. IT’S A BOY!  Soon after starts the conditioning and the stereotyping, and in the process parents often tend to forget to allow their children to have a mind, choice, and preference of their own.  But, this Father’s Day I wanna thank my dad for teaching me the valuable lesson that it takes no compromise to give people their rights. So, thank you Papa. And, thank you all, for coming to my Ted Talk (J).  Explore More

Shakib Uproots Stumps In Anger Twice In A Game, Renders Apology But Fans Aren't Pleased

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan created yet another controversy with his atrocious behaviour during a local T20 match in his home country. Shakib lost his cool not once but twice at the on-field umpire during the game, something which is least expected from a player of his stature. Having top-scored for his side Mohammedan Sporting Club, Shakib was expected to lead them by example but his actions brought utter not just to his team but the entire nation, where millions of people follow cricket religiously. The first incident happened when Shakib's LBW appeal against his international teammate Mushfiqur Rahim was turned down by the  on-field umpire on the penultimate ball of the fifth over. Unhappy with the umpire's decision, Shakib kicked the stumps in anger and brought them down. Who’s this?
Is it Shakib al Hasan? pic.twitter.com/kk69rdyyod — Iceland Cricket (@icelandcricket) June 11, 2021 Having broken several codes of conducts with his first action, Shakib was allowed to continue in the game and he went one step further bringing the game into disrepute. Things got really dirty after the umpire signalled towards the ground staff to bring on the covers with only a ball left in the sixth over. Shakib's temper knew no bounds as he charged in towards the umpire and uprooted the stumps and threw them on the ground. Such incidents were never seen before on a cricket field and what made it even more shocking was a player of such magnitude having no regard for the match officials. Hence, the reaction that followed on social media were only natural, with people falling short of all adjectives to describe Shakib's disgraceful behaviour. Shocker from #Shakib.. Surely he's a role model for many young Bangladeshi cricketers. And this behaviour is unacceptable.#Shakib @UTK_019 @Ayush70795293 @james92cricket @indianLoganwa @The_BarberPans @ClownNo69 @cricFan12987 pic.twitter.com/wXFqV8twFI — Mohan Kumar S (@mohan_sachin007) June 11, 2021 After facing the wrath on social media, Shakib posted an apology message on his Facebook account where he rendered his apology describing his actions as "human error" he was really ashamed of. "Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately," read Shakib's post. "I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won't be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all  SAH," he added. However, fans were in no mood to let him go away that easily and demanded serious actions be taken against him. Absolutely disgraceful from Shakib . He did lose his cool during Nidahas earlier . Mushfiq a couple of times before this.

Is That Donald Trump Selling Ice Cream? No, Just His Doppelganger Who Sings On Pak Streets

Celebrity lookalikes are often funny and interesting and leave us baffled at the same time. Just a few days ago, Shah Rukh Khan’s doppleganger Ibrahim Qadri went viral and netizens said he is a spitting image of the superstar.  Not just actors, sometimes we come across common people who have an uncanny resemblance to politicians and global leaders too. Former US president Donald Trump was once compared with a female farmer in Spain who looked too much like him and the Internet was in splits.  © Twitter Once again, netizens have found Trump’s another doppelganger and this time in the dingy lanes of Pakistan. Someone recently shared a video of an ice cream seller who is in his 40s and has a skin disorder named albinism. His physique, light coloured hair and white skin makes him look exactly like Donald Trump. Even the expressions are the same as the US politician.
© Twitter He drags his ice cream cart on the streets of Lahore, Pakistan while singing in Urdu. He looks strikingly similar to Donald Trump, only in a kurta instead of the signature blue suit. People cannot believe their eyes and are amazed by the similarity.
© Twitter His video is being tweeted by hundreds of users where they called him Pakistani version of Trump.

Money Heist was released on Netflix three years ago and in the passing years, it became one of the most-watched non-English shows on OTT. The show has fans all across the world and now the season finale is about to release.
So, here are 5 things we know about the final season of Money Heist that all fans should know- Money Heist Season 5 Release Date  The final season of the show will release in two parts- part 1 on September 3 and Part 2 on December 3.
Why The Finale Is Divided Into Two Parts Money Heist creator Álex Pina said, "When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself.” © Netflix He added, "We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”
What To Expect In Season 5The official synopsis reads, "The gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. “The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan. Talking about season 5 of the show he said, "It’s going to be rock’n’roll because from what I’ve seen, you’re making a war movie but within four walls. It's not an action sequence; it's an epic war film." © Netflix The Last Season Will Be The Best The director of the show, Jesus Colmenar, had promised that this season will be the most exciting of all. He said, "The last battle has been the biggest and the hardest, and we have fought it to the last breath. Because we wanted to give you the most epic, most spectacular, and most exciting season of all. The result is for you. And for us the journey. And without a doubt, colleagues, it has been worth it.”

6 Movies Of Rockstar Yash Which Show Why Kannada Movie Fans Absolutely Love Him

There was a time when Rock Star Yash was immensely popular, but predominantly among the audiences of the southern film industries, mainly, the Kannada speaking one.  However, in the last few years, that has changed completely. © Hombale Films Now, Yash enjoys a massive fan base even in Hindi-speaking regions.
Apart from having a great sense of style and fashion, a great sense of grooming and a charisma that just grips onto you, he, obviously, is a very gifted actor.  © Instagram/thenameisyash Here are some of his best movies that his fans swear by, which is clearly why fans of Kannada movies just can’t enough of him
1. Drama © Jayanna Combines Drama is a romantic comedy thriller, and of the finest films that the Kannada film industry has made in the last decade or so.
Yash plays the character of a student who has set out to avenge his girlfriend being slapped by the college principal. What ensues is a comically charged but gripping story.  The movie performed extremely well at the Box Office and garnered largely positive reviews from critics. 2. Moggina Manasu © E. K. Entertainers One of Yash’s earliest films, Moginna Manasu is again, based around the life of college students and deals with themes like love, friendship, and the everyday struggles that students face.
The movie is shot from the perspective of one of the women in the group of friends and tells a very poignant story. This film too was a massive hit at the box office, and much appreciated by critics. 3. Raja Huli © Lakshmisri Combines Yash plays the titular character in this one, who’s the son of a rich landlord in a village.
Like the previous two films, the themes of friendship and love are vital aspects in this film as well. Yash’s character gets falsely implicated in a murder, and how he proves his innocence is what the movie is about.  Again, it did phenomenally well, beating out Krrish 3 in Bangalore, on the week of its release. 4. Mr & Mrs Ramachari © Jayanna Combines Released back in 2014, Mr & Mrs Ramachari is a run of the mill, hardcore romantic drama film, which is also quite comically charged.
It had one of the wildest box office runs down south. So much so, that there were a number of remakes in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil & Telugu. 5.  Googly © Jayanna Combines Again, a romantic drama that Yash featured in, Googly released in 2013 and is one of the first films from Yash that was dubbed in Hindi.
The Hindi-dubbed version for TV was a massive hit across India. Yash plays the role of a brilliant student, who falls in love with a girl, gets his heart broken due to a misunderstanding, becomes a successful businessman, and tries to reconcile things with his ex.  The movie is your typical masala, romantic entertainer. Still, so good was the audience response to it, that it is being remade in Bengali. Apparently, a sequel to the original is also in the works. 6. KGF: Chapter 1 © Hombale Films And finally, there is KGF: Chapter 1. You must have been living under a rock if you didn’t see this coming.
Thanks to its pan India release, and OTT platforms, KGF took Indian filmgoers by storm. Without a doubt, it was one of the best messianic stories we have had in a really long time.  Furthermore, it really established, just how capable Yash is, as an actor. Just look at the excitement people have when they talk about KGF: Chapter 2, and you’ll get what we’re on about. The Bottom Line… We know that there certainly are more films where Yash’s performance was commendable. However, for someone who’s just getting into Kannada films, and has started exploring Yash’s movies, this is the perfect list to follow.

'We Want Revenge' Fans Say Pay Back Time As BCCI Shares 2nd Video Of Team India's Net Session

The World Test Championship final is upon us and Team India stars are leaving no stone unturned in preparing themselves for arguably the biggest Test match of their career. In the build-up to the summit clash, the BCCI has also upped their game and has been providing the fans with the videos of players turning the heat during net sessions ahead of the mega clash. The video of Team India's first practice session, posted earlier this week after the completion of their three-day mandatory quarantine, had fans comparing it to the next Avengers movie, while the latest clip was met with completely different expectations altogether. Reacting to the video, the fans sought revenge from New Zealand for breaking billions of hearts in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup. #TeamIndia get into the groove for the #WTC21 Final pic.twitter.com/KIY1zvjyce — BCCI (@BCCI) June 11, 2021 The video features skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara and others going full tilt during the practice session. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who starred for India in their historic Test series win Down Under, was at his fluent best while practicing his normal drill of hitting the ball out of the park. From Kohli's cover drives to Rohit Sharma one-legged-pulls to Pujara's forward defence everything was a treat to the eyes of every Indian supporter.
The Indian team hasn't played a single red-ball game since the first week of March while their opposition has already become accustomed to the English conditions, thanks to their ongoing two-Test series against England. We have had our first group training session and the intensity was high #TeamIndia's 🇮🇳 preparations are on in full swing for the #WTC21 Final pic.twitter.com/MkHwh5wAYp — BCCI (@BCCI) June 10, 2021 Despite that, they are wary of the Indian team and are not taking Virat Kohli and Co. lightly, hence have made several changes -- some forced and some tactical -- to their playing XI for the second Test against England. With an eye on the WTC clash, the Kiwis want their players to remain fresh for the biggest Test challenge, which will get underway at the Ageas Bowl Stadium in Southampton on June 18. The glow up of all glow ups.

A New 'Lord Of The Rings' Movie Has Just Been Announced & Here Are All The Details

For fantasy lovers, Lord Of The Rings remains one of the greatest, if not THE BEST, movie series that has ever been made. This perhaps is the only series that has garnered equal (if not more) appreciation as the book series - which in itself is a feat worth applause. For anyone who has watched them, it wouldn't have come as a surprise - such is the sheer brilliance of the movies. via GIPHY Naturally, when we heard that a brand new LOTR movie has been announced, this is kinda how we reacted. via GIPHY You can't blame us and you know it. Anyway, let's get to business and spill all that we know about it. via GIPHY To start with, we already know the name. The movie is called Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim. Clearly, it's self explanatory what it's based on from the name itself. The Rohirrim refer to the people of Rohan - the horsemen and the horse lords we saw in The Two Towers, and then also in the fierce battle of the Pelennor Fields. via GIPHY The second most important thing is, it is going to be an anime feature, which is reportedly being directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who is the name behind heavy duty projects such as Blade Runner: Black Lotus as well as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. via GIPHY Reportedly, The War Of The Rohirrim will deal with a story that essentially is a prequel to the trilogy, and is set 260 years before the events of the same. The history of Helm's Deep is supposed to be explored in this one, where the famous battle had taken place in The Two Towers. via GIPHY As of now, even though casting of voice artists is reported to be underway, there has not been any announcement on who exactly will be joining the cast. As far as the date is concerned, the project apparently is being fast tracked and the aim is to release it around the same time as Amazon's LOTR series, or perhaps even sooner. via GIPHY All we can say is: THANK YOU! Please give us more reasons to look forward to continuing living, just like this.

Microsoft Will Soon Let People Play Xbox Games On Smart TVs & Streaming Sticks

Microsoft announced its commitment to gaming and announced that the company will soon be turning smart TVs and streaming sticks into gaming devices.  In a press release, Xbox head, Phil Spencer and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the company is currently working on an Xbox app for smart TVs and will even come with a streaming stick of its own.  © YouTube/Xbox “We believe that games, that interactive entertainment, aren’t really about hardware and software. It’s not about pixels. It’s about people. Games bring people together,” said Spencer. “Games build bridges and forge bonds, generating mutual empathy among people all over the world. Joy and community – that’s why we’re here. Gaming is fundamentally aligned with our mission as a company,” said Nadella.
“When you talk about Xbox’s mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet, which I absolutely love, that is precisely aligned with Microsoft’s mission, which is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.” Microsoft is looking to bring gaming to anything that has a screen and the company has already released cloud gaming services on smartphones in some regions.  The cloud gaming service is set to launch in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan later this year. It seems like Xbox wants to be on every device possible, even the Nintendo Switch according to rumours. Xbox has been hard at promoting, marketing and bringing its game subscription service “Xbox Game Pass" to other devices and this news may just be the stepping stone we’ve been waiting for.  © Microsoft Having said that, the new Xbox TV App does look like an exciting new way to play console-level games as it would enable almost everyone with a Smart TV or a streaming stick to play games in their living room. The app will probably stream games as well which means gamers will not require expensive hardware to run games anymore.
At the moment, Microsoft has not announced a concrete launch date for the Xbox TV app and it seems like the app will be a while before a full release.

5 Things To Know About Tesla’s New Model S Plaid, Possibly The New Fastest Car In The World

Tech billionaire and Dogecoin-enthusiast Elon Musk recently announced that Tesla, the electric-car maker will now start deliveries for one of their most anticipated cars of all time, the Tesla Model S Plaid. © AFP Petrolheads and tech geeks will know that Musk had been teasing the launch of the car for quite some time now, and had made some claims that seemed ludicrous on paper.
© Tesla While Musk may claim that the Model S Plaid is faster than a Porsche, and safer than a Volvo, the facts and specifications that have been doing the rounds, seem to suggest that it may very well be one of the fastest accelerating production cars in the world.
© Tesla Do take this with a pinch of salt though, because, Musk’s and Tesla’s fanboys, do tend to exaggerate some stuff, especially when it comes to figures.
With that being said, there are a few things that Tesla has officially confirmed about the New Model S Plaid, and trust us, they are mind-boggling, to say the least.  Here are a few of the facts and figures: 1.  The Power © Tesla The Model S Plaid is driven by a powertrain that generates about 1020 bhp at its peak.
That’s a figure that you’ll see in a hypercar, such as the LaFerrari, or the Bugatti Chiron, both of which cost about 10-20 times the price of the Model S Plaid.  The Plaid has a range of 627 km and can add about 300 km to it in under 15 minutes, at one of their Superchargers. 2. The Acceleration © Tesla Electric cars accelerate crazily, almost as if they were a rabbit that just got poked by a needle.
The Model S Plaid takes things up a notch. While most petrol-powered supercars and hypercars are yet to break the sub-2.5-second mark to 60 mph, or 96 kmph, the Plaid does it in less than 2 seconds.  Tesla claims that its newest offering can do it in as little as 1.9 seconds. That certainly makes it the fastest accelerating production car in the world. 3. The Speed © Tesla With an acceleration figure that like, the car is bound to be fast. Tesla claims that the Plaid S has a top speed of 200 mph. That’s over 320 kmph. Now, this is nearly as fast as some of the other hypercars that we have come to know and love, but it still is pretty fast.
Moreover, let’s not forget, this is a 4 door, 5 seater family sedan. Imagine going over 300 kmph with your family inside the car with you. You can’t, can you? Do keep in mind that you won’t be able to simply take delivery of your car and drive off at that speed. You will need specialised tyres and a software key to unlock that sort of performance. 4.  The Price © Tesla Speaking of taking delivery, the Model S Plaid was scheduled to be launch at a price of $119,000. However, on the day of the launch, the price was revised to $130,000, all thanks to issues with Tesla’s supply chain.
In India, that would be about, Rs 94 lakhs, before you add in about 120-150 per cent import duties, tariffs, customs etc. That would put the price at around Rs 2-2.25 Crores, ex-showroom. Does that mean that Indian customers will get a chance to get their hands on this car when Tesla finally opens up a factory here? Well, here’s the thing, that is highly unlikely to happen. 5. The Time It Took To Develop This Car © Tesla Musk claims that it took him and Tesla about 9 years to develop the Model S Plaid edition. The battery, the motors - most components of the drivetrain had to be rebuilt and in some cases, redesigned for it to be able to work efficiently in the heat.
Tesla also had to tweak the chassis, the brakes and the suspensions as well. This is one of the main reasons why the Plaid+ version of the Model S was cancelled earlier this year.  The Bottom Line… The Model S Plaid just made electric cars far more exciting, a feat that almost seemed impossible to some petrolheads.  It really is a shame that we might not be able to see one of these mean machines on our roads unless someone decided to get one of these imported.

Sonam Kapoor Once Said Her Statements On A Chat Show Affected Her Relationship With Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor and his relationships have always been the talk of the town. In his stint in Bollywood, we have seen him having relationships with many of his co-stars and the fans were always eager for him to get married but that never happened.
Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were also rumored to be dating but no one confirmed their relationship and always said that they were friends.  However, Sonam Kapoor had once said that Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee with Karan had affected her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. She expressed that what she said on the show affected her friendship with her Saawariya co-star.  © YouTube Sonam and Deepika Padukone appeared on the show in 2010 and they were asked many questions about Ranbir. Sonam Kapoor said on the show that she wasn’t sure if he would be a great boyfriend.
Later, Sonam told Filmfare in an interview, "Honestly, I’m so fed up with this whole Koffee With Karan thing now that I don’t want to discuss it. Yes, it has affected my relationship. Some people get away with saying something. Unfortunately, I didn’t and I have to bear the brunt of it." During the show, Karan asked Sonam what she thought of Ranbir, to which she responded saying, “Ranbir is a great friend but I don’t know if he’s a great boyfriend. I have known Ranbir all my life and as a boyfriend, I don’t know, I mean, she (Deepika) did a great job hanging onto him for so long.” © Viral Bhayani However, Ranbir Kapoor later expressed how these statements had affected him, he said, “Koffee With Karan started a barrage of negativity in my life, as you must be knowing.” He added that he has no preference and would go on the show with anyone, including ‘Sonam and Deepika together.”
He also said, “I didn't expect all of the negativity that came with it. Till today, there is so much of negativity that surrounds me. Certain fans of certain actors turned against me but it is fine. I would probably like to win all of them with my work than with just an interview on Koffee With Karan.” What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!

Kerala Man Hides Lover For 11 Years In His House & We Think He Took Hide & Seek To Another Level

In another episode of ‘this happens only in India’, an anomalous incident took place where a 29-year-old woman was found after 11 years of going missing.
The weirdest part of the incident is that she was living just about 500 meters away from her parent's house and it took the police 11 years to find her. Yes, you read that right. © Unsplash She went missing when she was 18 years old from Ayalur Village and was recently found living 500 meters away from her parent’s home. She spent the past decade in a tiny room with a man she was in love with. Also, the man’s parents were living in the same house and claim that they were unaware of the woman’s presence in the house.
Sajitha’s family had given up hope of ever finding her but they got a cue when Alinchuvattil Rahman, now 34, suddenly went missing from his house around three months ago and his family filed a complaint. However, then his elder brother Basheer spotted him and then they found the couple living in another village on rent. © Unsplash Police then presented them in front of a local court who permitted them to live together when the woman herself said that she wanted to be with him.
Nenmara Police Station House Officer Deepa Kumar A said, “Their story sounds unusual, but we took the couple to Rahman’s house and they told us how Sajitha had lived secretly in a single room for all these years.” He added, “Nobody knew about their affair. In any elopement, both persons go missing.” Now, this can only happen in our country and it’s like someone took hide and seek to another level. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!
