The coronavirus pandemic has made our lives come to a standstill as far as travel plans are concerned. Not that one can't travel anymore, but the fear of catching the virus is always lurking. Hence, social media is giving us a chance to treat our eyes with the extraordinary picture of places from across the globe that have been on our go-to list but unfortunately seems like a dream no. Earlier, Shillong’s cherry blossom flowers took over the town, and now a village in Kerala’s Kozhikode has turned the whole town pink due to the extensive growth of an aquatic plant known as the forked fanwort blooms.
Kerala’s village Avala Pandi has enticed the locals as the image of the aquatic plant spread across the village has surfaced on the internet and also intrigued people’s attention from across the country. The photos of the rapidly growing plant have also been doing the rounds on social media and have also attracted a lot of tourists who have been visiting the village to look at the sights.
Check out the post here-

The pink flower is locally known as ‘mullan payal’. The flower is also a source of income for several local vendors who have been using the pink flower bloom for making easy money amid this economic slowdown. Not only this, it has also become the go-to place for several party candidates who are fighting for votes.
Dr. P Dileep told Indian Express that the plants might look beautiful to look at but are a huge threat to the local water bodies.
Dr. Dileep said, “Plants may have been from aquarium escapes. Lesser number of people in the water bodies might have contributed to the increased growth of the plant.”
Here’s what people on the internet have to say about the unfavorable flower growth in water bodies-

Netflix’s India Original series Delhi Crime, helmed by Indian-Canadian director Richie Mehta, has bagged the best drama series honour at the 48th International Emmy Awards. It won against Germany's Charité 2 Season 2, UK's Criminal UK, and Argentina's El Jardín de Bronce (The Bronze Garden) Season 2.
Needless to say, Netflix’s show did make us proud on the international platform. It wasn’t an easy watch though, but was an important story to tell. Sharing the news about Delhi Crime's big win, Adil Hussain tweeted, "Delhi Crime #DelhiCrime wins the Emmy @iemmys International Awards for Best Drama. Congratulations @RichieMehta unmatchable @ShefaliShah dearest @rajeshtailang and whole team Big Big Congratulations (sic)."
Delhi Crime #DelhiCrime wins the Emmy @iemmys International Awards for Best Drama. Congratulations @RichieMehta unmatchable @ShefaliShah dearest @rajeshtailang and whole team Big Big Congratulations! — Adil hussain (@_AdilHussain) November 23, 2020
When the show was released, it was a major talking point as it showed the dark reality that people have found uncomfortable to digest. It is based on the investigation of the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape, one of the most brutal sexual assaults that saw the entire nation condemning the heinous act. This show is told from the perspective of police and it’s a seven-episode anthology series of one hour each and captures the investigation that went into finding the criminals of the most horrendous crime.
Here’s the trailer:
It truly deserves the recognition it got and here are the five reasons why we think it won the big award. 1. Uncomfortable, But A True Mirror To The SocietyIt might have been a very uncomfortable show to watch because it makes you realize that we live in a dystopia. It shows you the ugly side of the city which otherwise might look perfect on the surface but deep down, faces issues of class-divide which is prevalent today. The sad part is that women are still unsafe in the country despite fighting for the Nirbhaya case.
View this post on Instagram 2. A Fresh Perspective On The Functioning Of PoliceWhen this horrendous crime happened in the city, we only saw the side of the media trial and how our Indian media was active in highlighting the case but we totally ignored the fact that it was the police that was working hard to catch those criminals and send them behind the bars. This show brought the functioning of the police to the forefront while highlighting even the minutest details about how the police were able to crack the location of the criminals. 3. Highlighted The Psyche Of CriminalsThrough the show, you get to see how men feeling the need to teach women a lesson when they step out of the line made for them by these men is such a deep-rooted problem. This does unsettle you because you question the whole system that puts women in a vulnerable spot. Delhi Crime takes you to the most uncomfortable place where the rapist and the police inspector are talking and the former shows no signs of remorse. It throws at you the fact that we as a nation have failed to educate people on how to respect women. Well, nothing has changed till now.
4. Brilliant Show Put Up By The ActorsWhen you have brilliant actors in the cast, you somewhere have an idea of the result. Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi puts up a show-stealing performance. You get to see the different shades of a woman who’s heading a department. She is emotionally wrecked but is keeping up a strong face as she needs to get hold of these criminals. Besides Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, we get to see strong performances by actors like Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, Denzil Smith, and Jaya Bhattacharya.
View this post on Instagram 5. Strong DirectionIndian-Canadian director Richie Mehta did an amazing job with the direction. In an interaction, Mehta told PTI, “Certainly, the biggest challenge was to first find what the story was that was worth telling, and from whose perspective. And additionally, what was this all trying to represent? Essentially, how can something positive come out of something so terrible.”
The show truly deserved the Emmy Award. And people are also appreciating the big win. Here are the reactions:

For a club that consistently struggled for silverware before enduring a heartbreak in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League final, Tottenham Hotspur have undeniably been on the rise ever since Jose Mourinho took over the reins from Mauricio Pochettino mid-season last year.
While the Portuguese manager couldn't do much in his first season in-charge, with his team finishing sixth in the Premier League, Mourinho's influence cannot be overlooked in what has been a sensational start to Spurs new campaign.
Nine matches into the new season, Tottenham currently find themselves sitting at the top of the table, with their recent 2-0 triumph over Manchester City.

While many players seem to be thriving under Mourinho, a popular face in the Spurs line-up has been a notable omission in recent months.

It was in 2017 when the son of an auto-rickshaw driver changed the fortunes of his struggling family after fetching a paycheck of Rs 2.6 crore during the IPL 10 Auction.
It wasn't a fluke for Mohammed Siraj that earned him big bucks, but a befitting reward for years of hard work in domestic cricket.
If attracting a hefty paycheck on the back of an impressive 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season aided his family, Siraj went on to make his father Mohammed Ghouse proud after earning the national call-up for the T20I series against New Zealand at home later that year.
Since then, Siraj's family has prospered on the back of the meteoric rise of the young seamer in cricketing circles.
View this post on Instagram
For someone who owes his Team India breakthrough to the IPL, Siraj looked in a class of his own in the cash-rich T20 tournament earlier this year.
A sturdy and athletic seamer, Siraj was one of the key reasons behind Royal Challengers Bangalore's impressive journey to the Playoffs. His best performance came against Kolkata where he finished with figures of 3-8 with an economy rate of 2.0 and two maidens (a feat no other bowler has achieved in IPL).
While RCB's hopes to lift their maiden IPL trophy was eventually shattered, Siraj's sublime performances did earn him a spot in India's 32-man squad for their much-anticipated tour of Australia.
Roped in India's Test squad, Siraj was elated and couldn't hide his emotions as he broke the news to his family.
View this post on Instagram
"Abbu, mai select ho gaya Test team mai, Test series khelne jaa raha hun Australia (Father, I have been selected in the Indian Test squad and am going to play the Test series in Australia)," Siraj's brother, Mohammed Ismail, told TOI.
But, as Siraj began packing his bags and said goodbye to his family before boarding the flight for Australia, the Indian seamer didn't know that it was the last time he'd ever see his father Ghouse.
Siraj's dream of making his father watch him play Test cricket will never be fulfilled as Ghouse, aged just 53, passed away on 20th November after losing his battle to a lung ailment.
"He (Siraj) is my younger brother. We all love him so much. He was very close to my father. Whenever he calls now, he just cries. We say again and again, 'Siraj kuch to bol' (Siraj, please say something). But he doesn't say anything. He says one-word, 'Abbu' and then cries,” a distraught Ismail revealed.
View this post on Instagram
"May God give him strength. This is all I want to say. I am also heartbroken, but I have my family and relatives with me. Siraj is totally shattered by this news. He is alone. I keep calling him to give him support," he added.
While his brother seeks strength for Siraj, the Indian pacer found some much-needed support from his Team India mates which probably explains why he decided against returning home despite being given an opportunity by the BCCI.
View this post on Instagram
His brave decision to stay in Australia has been lauded by his teammates, cricket pundits and fans including the BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly. Though he couldn't fulfil his dream of making his father watch him play in the longest format, Siraj is now hell-bent on winning the four-match Test series as a tribute for his father.
"Siraj has promised that he will do well in the series and pay a fitting tribute to our father. He wants to win the series for him," Ismail revealed the goal his younger brother has now set for himself to commemorate the memories of his late father.
View this post on Instagram
This isn't really the first time when a cricketer has decided to play on despite enduring personal loss. Virat Kohli did it. And, so did Rishabh Pant. But, it still shouldn't take anything away from Siraj's determination and commitment to the sport and his team.
At the age of just 26, the right-arm seamer, in the past week, has shown great character which should inspire him to shine in his Test debut. View the full article
There are car accidents everywhere but then there are a few that could have been avoided and only took place due to the driver’s negligence. Recently, comedian and actor Sunil Grover took to his Instagram and shared an example of a car accident that could have been avoided if the driver paid a little attention.
The video shows a driver ramming a brand new Kia Carnival minivan into a showroom wall just after buying the car. The video has been going viral on the internet ever since and but this isn’t the first time this video has surfaced on the internet.
Earlier, this video went viral in June and was then uploaded on YouTube.
Sunil Grover wrote while sharing the video, "New car, directly from showroom to service station.”
Checkout the video here-
View this post on Instagram
In the video that was uploaded on YouTube, a showroom employee can be seen explaining something to the driver and the car has a few people sitting inside along with the driver. Next thing we see is that the car starts moving but the driver loses control in seconds and rams the car straight into the wall.
This is not it, the car hits the wall many times when the driver is trying to reverse the car and that’s how people started speculating that the driver didn’t know how to drive an automatic car.
Now, this is really weird and none of us can empathize with the pain of ramming a brand new car. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below. View the full article

While Bollywood does make its fair share of incredible movies that stay with us for the rest of our lives, it also sometimes ends up making the same movie with the same concept over and over again.
As the audience, we might skip noticing the similar pattern in movies, but if we look closely at the careers of various actors we would find that their resume is filled with pretty much the same roles.
Here are some popular actors who’ve made a career out of playing the same roles and are risking getting typecast: 1. Kartik Aaryan
In case you've noticed, Kartik Aaryan plays the character of a man who despises women in most of his films.
He has even gone on a rant repeatedly in multiple movies. However, those were some epic rants and we don't mind watching those hilarious scenes on repeat.
Even though we love his acting, we are sure both the audience and his fans would like to see some versatility from him, especially, given how capable he is of delivering a powerful performance. 2. Nushrratt Bharuccha
Nushratt Bharuccha has made a career out of playing the role of a desirable woman who takes innocent men for granted and then gives them a hard time.
And yes, she is rather good at it, however, it's about time she starts thinking of using her talents for a more challenging role, perhaps. 3. Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor has played the role of a lost man-child in almost all his films.
Take a look at some of his most memorable movies- Wake Up Sid, Rockstar, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Tamasha, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
See what we are talking about?
One can't help but think of his Barfi days when he stunned us all without even saying a word, proving his mettle as an incredible actor. 4. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
A lot of people believe that Sonam Kapoor is just playing herself in most of her films, being her chirpy, bubbly self.
If you still don’t believe us, here is a list of her best films where it seems like she was just being herself - Aisha, Players, Bewakoofiyan, Khoobsurat, Veere Di Wedding, and The Zoya Factor.
A rich, well-dressed woman with her first world problems, seems to be Sonam's cup of tea.
Then again, Sonam also rocked us to our core with her gritty performance in Neerja, proving that she is quite capable of nailing a challenging character as well. 5. Varun Dhawan
He plays the role of a lover boy who tries to woo the girl he likes and after overcoming these few hurdles he gets to the business of trying to convince the girl’s family.
In most of his hit films, he is more or less playing the same role with a different name.
Come on, Varun, we've seen October, we know what you are truly capable of. Go on, and take a plunge into versatility. View the full article
