Billionaire Nikhil Kamath Banned For ‘Using Unfair Ways’ To Beat Legend Viswanathan Anand, Issues Casual Apology

Back in 2020, brothers Nikhil and Nitin Kamath created a massive stir on the Indian social media after entering Forbes’ list of 100 richest Indians at the age of 34 and 41, respectively. Nikhil, who is the Co-Founder Zerodha and True Beacon also used to be a professional chess player and has even represented the country in a few tournaments. Kamath feels that it was the game of chess that helped him understand the market better, especially by analysing the various deviations in strategies. Therefore, it was an obvious decision to make India’s youngest billionaire become a part of a charity event for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in which he was to sit across the board from chess legend Viswanathan Anand. Massive THANK YOU to everyone for making this event a grand success! 🏻

We are glad to share that we managed to raise more than 10 Lakhs from this event! @AkshayaPatra

Note that you can still make a difference by donating here and help us #CheckmateCovidhttps://t.co/mgOmSwr54n pic.twitter.com/fZxZAGrleR — Chess.com - India (@chesscom_in) June 13, 2021 But then something remarkable happened. Kamath not only gave the grandmaster a tough competition but ended up winning against him. However, it was later revealed that the businessman had “gamed the system” and his profile was eventually banned for “using unfair means”. So the Zerodha CEO Nikhil Kamath played a charity chess match against Visvanathan Anand for COViD relief.
Gamed the system to win.
Got his chess profile banned.
A little shameful to cheat to win against a World champ. pic.twitter.com/67GvU2j6tD — MB (@desiboho) June 13, 2021 The banning took place two days ago and ever since, the news spread across social media like wildfire with Kamath receiving some significant backlash. It was not until Monday morning that the accused finally spoke about it on Twitter with a post that was supposed to justify what he did, followed by a casual apology, but only made matters worse for him online. Here’s his complete ‘apology’: It is ridiculous that so many are thinking that I really beat Vishy sir in a chess game, that is almost like me waking up and winning a 100mt race with Usain Bolt. pic.twitter.com/UoazhNiAZV — Nikhil Kamath (@nikhilkamathcio) June 14, 2021 "Yesterday was one of those days that I had dreamt of when I was a really young kid learning chess, to interact with Vishwanath Anand. Got the opportunity thanks to Akshaypatra and their idea of raising funds for charity conducting a bunch of chess games with Vishy. It is ridiculous that so many are thinking that I really beat Vishy in a chess game, that is almost like me waking up and winning a 100mt race with Usain Bolt," Kamath said in a statement. "I had help from the people analyzing the game, computers, and the graciousness of Anand sir himself to treat the game as a learning experience. This was for fun and charity. In hindsight, it was quite silly as I didn't realise all the confusion that can get caused due to this. Apologies," he added. Here’s now Anand’s fans and even those who admired Kamath for everything he had achieved so far, reacted to the post:  Corrected it. pic.twitter.com/NRSjlCwwfR — Pankaj Gautam (@IAmPankajGautam) June 14, 2021"Yeah I fucked up and got caught so now let's try to paint the narrative in my way by saying that using computers in chess is obvious and everyone watching the livestream expecting an honest normal game was a dumbass" such ridiculous people we are guys🤦 — Forza Belgium (@kdbisgod) June 14, 2021Nikhil, I've always looked up to you but this isn't acceptable. Such a casual apology after what happened yesterday raises a lot of questions. Did you think that you would outsmart the world using engines and nobody would know?
1/2 — Chirag Jain (@Chiragjain122) June 14, 2021You should have made this clear as soon as the game ended. — Avinash OK (@avinash_ok) June 14, 2021I mean if you've had exposure to chess since childhood, might as well been clear about how using stockfish or any chess engine is unethical no? Good riddance nevertheless :) pic.twitter.com/GC2s7PWcSD — Deva prasad (@dvprsd1997) June 14, 2021

The Indian Government Has No Power To Ban Battlegrounds Mobile’s India Launch For Now

According to an RTI request unearthed by IGN India, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) does not have a role in banning the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India.  In the RTI filed by r. Gaurav Tyagi, an assistant professor at JNU, the ministry responded saying that it “has no role in granting any permission for entry of PUBG or any company/mobile app in India.” As part of my research on predatory practise of Chinese companies in India and it's impact on National Security, had filed an RTI about the relaunch of PUBG Mobile in India by Krafton (in which the Chinese behemoth has the second largest stake). pic.twitter.com/WL5rkThdOb — Dr Gaurav Tyagi (@drtyagigaurav) June 13, 2021 It has been previously reported that the Indian Government cannot ban the launch of an app in India until it is found violating privacy and/or doing data theft.  These were the same reasons the Indian Government used for banning a number of Chinese apps last year including PUBG Mobile. © Krafton Last week, many BJP leaders were also calling for a ban on the game due to Krafton, the publisher of the game having close ties with China’s Tencent.
BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua and MP Ashok Nete both requested Prime Minister Modi to take action. It’s not the first time Indian Politicians have been calling for a ban on the upcoming battle royale game. IGN India also cites sources that claim neither Apple nor Google is looking forward to allowing Krafton to launch the game on their respective app stores. IGN’s sources say both companies are hesitant “due to the controversial nature of the app."  For now, it seems like Battlegrounds Mobile India’s launch will go forward as planned, however, India’s MeitY could take action if the game is found violating rules. It would be prudent to point out that MeitY will be keeping a close on Battlegrounds Mobile India once it launches.   Source: IGN India

Did Zack Snyder Take Inspiration From Satyajit Ray's 'Nayak' For A Scene In 'Man Of Steel'?

Inspiration is something that can come from anywhere. While the source rarely matters, when it involves two of the best directors who really have excelled in their individual crafts, it perhaps is worthy of mention and even analysis. We're talking about two particular scenes from two movies that are as different as chalk and cheese, but it does look like one has been inspired from the other. via GIPHY The two movies in question are Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel that was released in 2013, and Satyajit Ray's iconic Bengali film Nayak, released way back in 1966. If you've scrolled this far, it's safe to say you know enough about Man Of Steel, but for the uninitiated, Nayak ('The Hero' in English) is one of those films that pin-point towards the rich legacy of Indian cinema. It stars 'Mahanayak' Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore, and was directed by the one and only Satyajit Ray. While it's said that Ray's Nayak itself was inspired by an Ingmar Bergman film, there is an iconic scene in Man Of Steel (the pit of skulls bit from A New Krypton scene to be specific), which clearly has been inspired by a scene from Nayak. © IMDb While Man Of Steel is (obviously) about Superman, Nayak tells the story of an extremely successful film actor who is travelling on train to receive a prestigious award. He meets a journalist on his way, who starts interviewing him. His story of 7 flashbacks and 2 dreams is what makes the movie.
via GIPHY Now, let us get to the scenes we're talking about. First, let's look at the scene from Nayak (1966). Please specifically focus on the end of the scene. Let us now look at the scene from Man Of Steel (2013). Again, please focus on the end of the scene. From an analytical point of view, the two scenes are not similar at all, from the perspective of storyline. According to Redittor Mrmazzz, "Nayak (which roughly translates from Bengali to English as The Hero) was inspired by an Ingmar Bergman film. It's a surprisingly reflexive film for Satyajit Ray, but you could also argue Ray had begun to move away from his realist mode by that time. It centers on a film star on a long train ride - it really reminds me more of The White Sheik (Felini). The scene in particular here is a dream sequence where basically our titular hero/star is being crushed by the encroachment of late capitalism upon his life and it's destroying himself and everything around him. The two scenes are visually similar, somewhat opposed to one another. Nayak is all about self discovery and dreams turning to nightmares. Man of Steel is a villain monologue by Zod that never achieves the blissful dreamlike qualities of the latter, despite a seemingly utopian setting, as it goes from 'neutral' to nightmare. Still a nice reference point." via GIPHY While such instances usually end up in fan wars or negativity, in this particular instance involving the two greats, fans are exhilarated and have opined that there is, in fact, nothing wrong when one great director 'takes inspiration' from another one - 'The God of Directors' in this case.

When Rahul Dravid Turned On His Inner ‘Hulk Hogan’ To Ruin Mitchell Johnson’s Ego Completely

Rahul Dravid was not only one of the best players to have played for the Indian cricket team in the longest format of the game, but was also the one with the coolest, calmest brains on the field.  However, when it came to the shortest format of the game, especially in the Indian Premier League, our favourite Indiranagar ka Gunda has had his share of controversial moments and heated arguments on more than one occasion.  During the sixth edition of the Indian T20 league back in 2013, Dravid was leading the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals into the postseason qualifiers, and had the daunting task of taking on Mumbai Indians.   And it was in this match that MI pacer and Australian veteran, Mitchell Johnson decided to forget who he was thinking about getting in a war of words with and started blabbering to Dravid. Rahul Dravid did too before Virat Kohli again Johnson! ️

pic.twitter.com/riY4KAoKah — Mahi (@KohlizBitch) June 7, 2021 Seeing that RR were having trouble putting runs on the board, Johnson thought that this would be the best time to throw Dravid off his game by talking trash to him. So in the middle of the third over, after ‘the Wall’ struck him for an off-drive four, the Aussie would mock him, supposedly for ‘finally hitting the ball with the middle of the bat,’ according to the match commentators’ speculations. On a mission to shut his opponent up, Dravid managed another boundary, with a cheeky flick this time, only to glare straight into Johnson’s soul, ridiculing him for trying to get on his nerves. The RR skipper went on to have a 43-run innings off 37 deliveries at the opening spot, while also becoming the top-scorer for his team. Unfortunately, Dravid’s efforts and aggression weren’t enough to keep his squad sailing. 2013 Champions
2015 Champions
2017 Champions
2019 Champions
2020 Champions

The most successful IPL team in history.

Are Mumbai Indians the greatest domestic T20 side ever? pic.twitter.com/vX6tWqCCud — ICC (@ICC) November 10, 2020 A massive 62-run innings by Dwayne Smith and a 35-run support by Aditya Tare in the opening partnership gave MI exactly the start which boosted the squad while managing to win it all with just one ball remaining on the board. The Mumbai team would go on all the way to the finals and defeat legacy rivals, Chennai Super Kings to win their very first IPL championship and begin their journey to becoming the most successful franchise in the tournament at the moment with five titles under their name and in the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Girl With Indian Roots Is The Youngest To Be On Queen’s MBE List & We Are Proud Of Her

Recently, Amika George was picked as the youngest recipient of the Queen’s Birthday Honours for this year as she pushed the UK government to provide free period products in schools and colleges.
The 21-year-old student studies history at the University of Cambridge and both her parents are from Kerala in India. She said, “It wasn’t an easy one for me with the Honours system’s association to the (British) Empire and our Colonial past.” She also said, “It’s really important for me to show that young people have power in our voices, much more than we realize. We have often been overlooked in political spaces, and the MBE shows that we are slowly being recognised as real changemakers who can influence government.” © Amika George IG “That change doesn’t have to be done from within the walls of Westminster, or the White House, or the Indian Parliament. Anyone can orchestrate change. I would like young people of colour to see that we are being recognised, and that if we are willing to jump from a place of safety and rise, we can create something better,” she added.
Amika George is picked for Member of the Order of the British Empire which is the third-ranking award on the list. She’ll be receiving this for her campaign against period poverty #FreePeriods. She had started this campaign at the age of 17 and she started it as it made her angry that so many girls in the UK were missing school every month as they were too poor to afford period products. © Amika George IG She then filed a petition and met with the ministers and later the UK government in 2020 funded educational institutes to provide free period products. Free Periods is now a not-for-profit organisation, which continues to fight against the taboo and shame surrounding menstruation.
She said, “On behalf of my family and community who have silently had to tolerate racism over decades, who felt like they never fitted in, who never felt British enough, who never felt seen”. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!

‘Hated For No Reason’ Fans Protect Djokovic As He Makes A Young Fan’s Day With Great Gesture

Novak Djokovic is slamming at the doors of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to level with their record for the most number of grand slams in the history of tennis as he bags his 19th with the Roland Garros cup on Sunday. And after winning the title and inching a few steps closer to that 20-grand slam record, in one of the best highlights of the day, he gave his special, match-winning racket to a young fan in the front row and the sheer excitement that lad showed is winning the internet all over the world. However the World number 1 clearly doesn’t know when to quit and that was the quality that made him make a historic comeback. Not only did Djokovic win the next three sets to book his second French Open, he did so by defeating his greek opponent 6-3, 6-2, and 6-4. Only to leave the entire Philippe-Chatrier Court awestruck and on their feet. View this post on Instagram Another massive achievement that the Serb earned was to become only the third man in tennis history after Rod Laver and Roy Emerson to win each of the four major tournaments at least twice - a feat none of his Big Three rivals have got their hands on so far.  “I never thought it was a mission impossible to reach the Grand Slams of these guys,” said Djokovic after his victory. “I mean, I’m not there, but it’s one less. But they are still playing. Obviously they’re playing great, especially Rafa with his level.” View this post on Instagram “We all have still opportunities at Wimbledon, all the other slams. You have four slams a year, so we’re all competing for this amazing achievement and amazing trophies. I’ll keep on going. Video Shows Shiv Sena MLA Dumping Garbage On Contractor & People Are Disgusted With This Act

A Spider-Man movie that a lot of people must have seen is still remembered for one dialogue that has lived on to date: "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility."
Unfortunately for many of us, India counts as one of the nations where with great power, there is sometimes absolutely no responsibility, accountability, or even basic sensibility. © Unsplash A recent shocking example of this was in Mumbai, where a Mumbai lawmaker forced one of his contractors to go through a traumatic experience.
In a video that has now gone viral on social media, Dilip Lande, a Shiv Sena MLA, forced one of the corporators to sit on a waterlogged street and then instructed his supporters to dump garbage on top of him. #WATCH | Mumbai: Shiv Sena MLA from Chandivali, Dilip Lande makes a contractor sit on water logged road & asks workers to dump garbage on him after a road was waterlogged due to improper drainage cleaning

Those responsible for cleaning the garbage did not do their work for which people of my area had to walk through waterlogged streets. Now, I am making the contractor responsible sit in the same water.”
Soon after the shameless incident reached the smartphones and computer screens of the citizens, people jumped on to Twitter to slam the actions of the MLA. Virat Kohli and John Cena are two of the stalwarts in their respective fields, who are loved by millions of people around the world. Kohli is the most popular Indian celebrity in the world with over 126 million followers on Instagram, while John Cena enjoys a following of over 15 million users on the same platform. © John Cena Instagram Cena, who is known for his finishing move ‘You Can’t See Me’ inside the WWE ring, has a rather unique way of posting pictures on Instagram. No points for guessing where he got the inspiration from. That said, his posts still create quite a lot of buzz on social media and this time was no different.
View this post on Instagram The same happened after Cena  posted a picture of Indian skipper Virat Kohli on his Instagram account which left fans scratching their heads as they couldn’t fathom the reason behind the post. While some argued he is supporting Team India to beat New Zealand in the upcoming World Test Championship final, others were simply happy about the fact that one of the biggest global superstars has shared the picture of Indian skipper. View this post on Instagram This was not a one-off incident when Cena posted a picture of an Indian celebrity. From Sachin Tendulkar to Rahul Dravid, Shah Rukh Khan to Ranveer Singh, several other Indian celebrities have already found their way to Cena’s Instagram profile. The WWE legend has not participated in any wrestling match since Wrestlemania 36, where he took on Bray Wyatt, and is focusing more on his acting career. The fans are eagerly waiting to see Cena doing action sequences in the next installment of the popular movie franchise ‘Fast & Furious 9’, which is slated for release later this year. Ahead of the WTC final, the Indian players are playing an intra-squad game, with Kohli and KL Rahul leading the two sides. To Indian fans’ surprise, Kohli rolled over his arms over on the second day of the practice game which led to speculations if he would fill the seaming all-rounder’s position in the team or was only having a jolly time in the middle.

'Gaurav Is No Thief', Baba Ka Dhaba Owner Has Now Apologized To Blogger In A Video

In what is another turn of the saga that has been ongoing since the very first Covid-19 lockdown in the country, Kanta Prasad, the owner of South Delhi's popular eatery ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’, has now apologized to the YouTube blogger who helped him in the time of need. © PTI 'Baba ka Dhaba', a tiny roadside kiosk, which had been running by Kanta and his wife in Malviya Nagar, had become the talk of the town last year after food blogger Gaurav Wasan used social media to highlight the elderly couple's livelihood struggles.
View this post on Instagram © PTI Soon enough, Gaurav had managed to bring in donations and customers to the Baba Ka Dhaba eatery, with everyone believing that it was a happily ever after story.
However, things took a turn no one saw coming when the 80-year-old Kanta then went on to file a police case against Gaurav for allegedly swindling the donations, while also publicly stating that he never asked for the blogger's help and that he had approached the couple on his own. Gaurav was left with nothing but to deny the charges after which he defended himself by displaying his own bank statements. © The Print During the same time, Kanta Prasad had opened a new restaurant while also managing to pay all his debts and buy smartphones for his family.
Unfortunately for him, the restaurant did not kick-off and was forced to shut down in February, forcing him to come back to his roadside stall once again. Baba Ka Dhaba's Kanta Prasad shuts down the new eatery, (opened in December 2020) due to losses. He says, "On an investment of Rs 1 lakh, we only earned Rs 35,000, thats' why shut it. 'Sambhal Ke Rehna' Indian Fans Warn NZ To Be Wary Of India's Secret Weapon For WTC Final

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is regarded as the most complete batsman across all three formats of the game but the same can’t be said about his bowling. Kohli, who used to bowl a lot during his Under-19 days, has not bowled much since making his senior debut. The kind of quality bowling options Kohli has at his disposal at all times, no skipper would want to risk bringing himself into the attack. However, fans always want more from their star cricketer and want him to be the centre of attraction at all times so that they get to see him even more. To the delight of all Kohli fans, the Indian skipper, after batting on the opening day of the intra-squad game, decided to roll his arms over, that too against KL Rahul, his counterpart for the practice game. If not, Team India has multiple options of spinning all-rounders with Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel all part of the squad. While most of the squad is well-settled, the biggest conundrum in front of the team management is to decide, whether to go with four pacers and a spinner or pick three fast bowlers and strengthen their batting by playing both Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja.

Fans were waiting with bated breath to watch the second season of the hit show, The Family Man. After a long wait, they finally got to watch the show and have been pouring in positive reviews. Created by Raj & DK, The Family Man 2 has everything that a hit show is made of. The 9-part season of the thriller has drama, humour, and everything that had made the first edition of the web show popular. At the trailer launch, Raj and DK had said, "As creators, we have been waiting for a pretty long time to share the trailer of the much-awaited new season of The Family Man today. We promised the season will be out by end of this summer, and we are glad that we just about kept that promise :). The wait will finally be over on 4 June as Srikant Tiwari will return with a thrilling storyline, and ‘danger really has a new face’ — Samantha Akkineni, who has done a tremendous job, along with the always-fantastic ensemble cast. We are confident we have carved out an exciting season for you all, despite having to work through the pandemic. Hopefully, the new season will be worth the wait. These are extremely difficult times, and we hope and pray for better times. Please stay safe, mask up, and vaccinate as soon as you can.  The show has been streaming online on Amazon Prime Video and there are people who want all the information about the actors on board. So, we came across a report by News18 wherein it was mentioned how much the actors were paid.  Manoj Bajpayee View this post on Instagram Manoj played the role of Srikant and he added life once again to the vision of the creators. When it’s about Manoj Bajpayee, we know that he is there to create an indelible impression. He is the main man of the show and if the report is anything to go by, he was paid the highest as he got a whopping salary of Rs 10 crore for the show.  Samantha Akkineni View this post on Instagram Samantha essays the role of Rajji, a Sri Lankan Tamilian. The Family Man 2 also marks Samantha's digital debut. People are loving her act and want to see more of her on the screen. There’s also controversy around her brown makeup look but Raj and DK have clarified it saying that it was the need of the character. Her fees for the second season was around Rs 3 to 4 crore, according to the report.  Priyamani View this post on Instagram She plays the character of Suchi, Srikant’s wife. In the show, we got to see that her world with her husband is somewhere falling apart. There are some issues the two have to deal with. Priyamani has nailed the character and has shown how a married woman with kids can pursue her passion. According to the report, she earned Rs 80 lakh.  Sharib Hashmi View this post on Instagram He plays the role of JK Talpade in The Family Man 2 and it’s not wrong to say that he is one of the important characters of the show. He has done a commendable job portraying the character and it was his character that adds humour to the show. As per the report, he earned Rs 65 lakhs. Sharad Kelkar View this post on Instagram We genuinely felt that he got less screen space but as Arvind, he is surely one of the likeable characters of the show. Arvind and Suchi’s love track has been one of the most talked-about points among the mass as they want to know, ‘Lonavla Mein Hua Kya Tha’. According to the report, he was paid around Rs 1.6 crores. As for other supporting cast members, Aslesha Thakur as Dhriti was paid Rs 50 lakhs and Sunny Hinduja earned Rs 60 lakhs for the season for his role of Milind. Darshan Kumar as Major Sameer got Rs 1 crore for the role. Have you watched the show? Let us know in the comments section below. Source: News18

4 Things To Not Learn From Your Father For Better Mental Health Of Everyone In The Family

Most fathers are practically superheroes and the biggest inspiration in the lives of their children. They protect us against all odds, do their best to provide us with the best upbringing and education and keep us away from harm's way as we grow into adulthood. They are our confidants, someone we put all our faith and trust in as we make major life decisions. We seek their advice for matters big or small and keep them on this daunting pedestal of an all-knowing human being who’d take care of all our needs and wishes. © iStock Being a good father is a tough task and as we grow older while becoming increasingly aware of how life works, we appreciate everything they have done for us a little bit more.
And still, there are a few things that fathers do, albeit with clear and honest intentions, that if avoided, can not only help the family but may also allow themselves to feel free of unnecessary burden. 1. Hiding Things © iStock “Haan beta sab theek hai” has got to be that one line every kid has heard from their father on numerous occasions. As kids, when they said it, you’d believe them completely. As teenagers, you’d throw a tantrum when they’d say it but still wouldn’t buy you the new expensive phone. As adults, all you can see beyond that facade.
“Sab theek nahi hai” and you can feel it but despite asking a million times, all you’d get would be a bleak smile and that same line one more time. Let your family know exactly what is wrong. Not everyone comes from a rich background, not everyone is blessed with good health and not every relationship would go on to work as the people involved had expected in the first place. Instead of waiting to tell the loved ones when it's too late, prepare them for tougher times ahead. 2. Looking At Us As Their Little Babies Forever © iStock I don’t mean this in a prude and arrogant manner, we will always be their kids and have respect for everything they’ve done to help us get to wherever we are in life. However, it may be time for us to help them with all their needs and they must look at it as though we can take care of it all.
The hesitation of asking for anything from their kids, the restrictions fathers put on themselves, often leads to the widening of the gap between them and their children. You did everything in your power to raise a good human being. Allow us to be there for you now. 3. Hiding Post-Divorce Relationships © iStock With time, divorce rates are increasing in all parts of the world and India isn’t immune to it either. While many would perceive the rising numbers as alarming, some might even consider it to be a peaceful way out of failed and frustrating marriages.
What makes it worse is the villainised concept of post-divorce relationships which, much like a lot of other things, has been completely ruined by our beloved film industry. As divorced fathers, hiding such relationships is only going to make things more difficult at home. Make it accessible to your children, help them welcome that special someone into their lives who is not their biological mother but is important to you. 4. Putting Yourself Secondary To Everything Every Time © iStock Yes, I understand that when a man becomes a father, most of what he does is dedicated towards his kids but not everything has to be about the kids. Thinking in your head that your family won’t be into what you would like to do, you’d simply shut yourself out. How many of you have heard “I am fine with anything that you guys want”.
No! Be fine with what you want, too. At least give us the opportunity to get involved in your likes and dislikes. Might just turn out to be that one thing that could bring the whole family closer.

'Anil Is Exceptional But I'm Successful Too' Sanjay Kapoor Says There's No Barometer For Success

The brother trio of Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor is quite a Bollywood phenomenon that does not get talked of enough.
© BCCL While there are many sibling combos that are in the spotlight quite often, but one cannot say the same for the Kapoor brothers.
Of course, it might also be due to the fact that while all of them ply their respective trades in Bollywood or the Indian film industry, the fact remains that while Boney remains a renowned producer, Anil one of the most successful actors, Sanjay remains a bit low-key as compared to the two. © BCCL © BCCL However, despite many suggesting that Sanjay, the youngest in the family lives under the shadow of older brother Anil, Sanjay feels that the dynamics of success are clearly different.
Recalling a time when his producer father Surinder Kapoor once sat him down for a piece of his mind, Sanjay said, “My father used to say, ‘Don’t look at the four-five people ahead of you. Instead, think of the many people who are behind you, who probably are more deserving but did not get the right opportunity." "You should be happy that you are doing something you love for so many years and be grateful to your well-wishers, your family, and your fans because they have stood by you,” he added. Sanjay, part of Bollywood for almost 26 years, clearly hasn't had the smoothest ride in the industry and has clearly seen the struggle that has probably evaded the path of brother Anil. The 55-year-old actor, however, says that he knew what he was signing up for when he decided to take up acting. “I was mature enough to understand that it’s not going to be a smooth ride,” added Sanjay. “Everyone just sees the actor and whether he is from the industry or outside, but you don’t get to see the years of hard work before they face the camera for the first time. Bahot papad belne padhte hain and I had to go through it as well. It was my choice,” said Sanjay. However, the actor has turned things around in recent times and has been a part of quite a number of interesting content-driven projects like Lust Stories (2018) and his latest web series The Last Hour. © Netflix © Prime Video Speaking about the comparisons that are often made with his career and that of his older brother, Anil, Sanjay feels that while he and his entire family are proud of Anil's achievements, he also feels that he is successful as well.
© Facebook “There is no barometer for success. Yes, Anil is very successful and as a family, we are very proud of his achievements — it is exceptional — but if I have lasted for 26 years, I feel I am successful too."
"His success may be more than mine, but you can’t take away the journey that I have had. When you run a race, somebody has to come first but that doesn’t mean ki jo second aaya, woh bhaaga hi nahi,” Sanjay signed off. Do you agree with Sanjay's point of view? Fan Gets An Earful For Praising BCCI Twitter Admin & We Couldn't Agree More

With social media fast evolving, the BCCI and its content creation team have also changed its approach of sharing information with the fans. The BCCI which was often criticised for its reluctance, unlike other cricket boards, to post the videos on its social media channels clearly seems to have taken note of high demand of its followers. With the Indian team currently playing an intra-squad match ahead of the World Test Championship final, the fans, in the absence of live telecast, are relying on the Indian board to provide them with the updates of how their favourite cricketers are performing in the build-up to the summit clash against New Zealand. The Jadeja supporters weren’t too happy about such reports and they even warned that it would be a disaster in waiting if Team India did indeed decide to drop the all-rounder out for the mega clash.

Christian Eriksen Collapses During Euro 2020 Game, What Happened After Is Why We Love Football

The Euro 2020, after a one-year delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, began amid much fanfare on Friday. A day later, however, what transpired on the field left players, fans and millions watching on Television in tears as Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen all of a sudden collapsed on the pitch and was stretchered off after being administered CPR by the medical staff. The horrific incident happened with just a few minutes left in the first-half whistle. Walking towards the touchline to receive a throw-in from his teammate, Erisken staggered and collapsed dramatically on the field, sparking immediate concerns. © Reuters The Danish players, the match referee Anthony Taylor, and even the opposition players acted on their feet and showed awareness to signal towards the bench for immediate medical help. Eriksen’s treatment on the ground went for a good 15-20 minutes or even more and his teammates formed a protective wall around him to prevent him from being clicked.
© Reuters Sport has the power to turn the enemies into friends and a true example of this was visible when the Finland supporters gave their flags to shield Eriksen while he was being stretchered off the pitch, all the way into the tunnel.
© Reuters With everyone in distress, the fans from both sides came together and chanted the player's name. While the Finnish supporters chanted “Christian”, the Danish fans completed by shouting “Eriksen”, lifting up the entire atmosphere.
© Reuters When the match finally resumed after a long break, Finland emerged victorious thanks to Joel Pohjanpalo’s solitary goal in the second half but the Finnish player, despite scoring arguably the biggest goal in his country’s history, didn't celebrate as a sign of respect for Eriksen.

8 Bollywood Stars Who Became Dads After Turning 40, Proving Age Has Nothing To Do With Fatherhood

One of the greatest joys in life for most men is becoming a father.
Our society says there's always a 'right' age to settle down, get married and have a kid. But turns out, these celebrity dads defied the stereotype and became a parent in their 40s and 50s.  This proves that there's never a suitable age to embrace fatherhood and these 8 celebrities are setting an example for that: 1. Saif Ali Khan © Instagram/Kareena Kapoor Khan Saif Ali Khan, besides being an impeccable actor, is also a great father to his four kids.
Saif married Amirta Singh at a young age and they had Sara and Ibrahim.  After marrying Kareena, he had his first kid with her at the age of 46 and his second child at the age of 50. 2. Prakash Raj © Instagram/Prakash Raj Prakash Raj is one of the most notable actors down South  and is a well-known villain of Bollywood.
The South Indian actor became a proud parent at the age of 50 and welcomed his first child with Pony Verma, Vedanth Raj in 2015. He wrote on Twitter "Hi .. Me and pony are happy share with you this moment of joy in our life.. We had a lovely baby boy.. Today .. Bless him. Cheers.” 3. But, he was in his early 50s, when he had Shahraan and Iqra with Manyata Dutta. Manyata was in her 30s at the time and the couple was blessed with twins. 5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui © Instagram/Nawazuddin Siddiqui_FC Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for his brilliant acting skills and he isn't just popular on the big screen but he became an OTT star as well, in no time.
Even Nawazuddin embraced fatherhood late in his life. He had his son, Yaani Siddiqui on his 41st birthday.  6. Sohail Khan © Instagram/Sohail Khan Sohail and Seema Khan's marriage has been the talk of the town, ever since Seema participated in the Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives show Netflix.

‘My Friends Wish That Major Sameer Dies In Next Season’: Darshan Kumar On ‘The Family Man’

The team of The Family Man is on cloud nine, and for good reasons.  The show has been massively successful and has been received in an overwhelmingly positive manner. © Instagram/darshankumaar Darshan Kumar, who plays Major Sameer in the series, is ecstatic as well. After all, his character is the mastermind behind all the plans and missions that have kept audiences glued to their seat.
His joy, though, comes from the fact that his friends and family members, want his character to die, or want something bad to happen to him. Seems strange, doesn’t it? Well, not to Darshan. © Instagram/darshankumaar We sat down with the self-confessed method actor, who comes to us from the tutelage of Naseeruddin Shah, and had a chat about his process, some of his best roles so far, and of course, season 2 of The Family Man.
Edited Excerpts: © Instagram/darshankumaar What has been the craziest phone call or message that you have received since the release of The Family Man Season 2?
I play a negative character, and basically am the mastermind of the plot. So, my friends and family are calling me up or messaging me and saying, “We hope you die in the next season, or something bad happens to Sameer.”  I ask if that happens, what will happen in season 4? They, of course, say this out of love and mean it as a compliment because they really loved my performance.  I think that is the mark of a good villain when the audience and even your friends and family hate your character. © Prime Video The Family Man 2 has been really well received by most people, with some of them even saying that this is the first time that a second season has been better than the first one. Did the team anticipate this sort of response?
I actually did. While reading the script for the second season I told DK and Raj sir (Krishna D.K.& Raj Nidimoru) that this was going to be special, that this is going to go strike it out of the park.  The concepts that we were dealing with and how we were dealing with them was the key. DK & Raj always find ways to extract something unique, whether you are talking about the stories, the actors or the cinematography. They are always on the lookout for something magical.  And, of course, it goes without saying we had a phenomenal cast starting from Manoj sir, to Samantha. Everyone was putting their best foot forward for the show. Everything was spot on, so we were pretty confident that with the audience as well, it would click.  © Instagram/darshankumaar You have a knack for playing villains. Satbir in NH10 remains to be one of the most underrated, but terrifying villains we have had. Then, you again play a negative character in the show. How do you approach such roles?
In order to play a villain, you have to give him a story, you have to make him a character of your own. Everyone has a dark side and a more pious side. You have to consciously look into the dark side. You have to go deep into it.  © Phantom Films I usually go into isolation, and just work on the character, his body language and mannerisms. When I am at a set, I should not be there as Darshan, I should be there as Satbir or Major Sameer.
Every character, especially a negative character, has a journey, why they are the way they are. It has to look real.  When I play a negative character, I believe that my character is in the right, I never think that what he is doing is wrong, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do justice to the character. You consider Naseeruddin Shah to be your guru. Does he watch your performances in shows and movies? He usually does watch my performances, but I don't think he has seen The Family Man. I remember he gave me some really insightful feedback for my work in Mary Kom.  He has always supported me and has been a constant guide. He has always appreciated me. He says to me that I am a good actor, that I will do good, so that helps a lot.  He also tells me how important it is to choose the right script and how to approach something when I get stuck. © Instagram/darshankumaar He has a very varied body of work. What advice has he given you about selecting a script?
He always tells me to go with my gut, but to also consider what the story is, who's directing who's my co-star, and who's producing. These are the main four pillars he says.  After this, it is all about giving your best. These are the only things that matter.  What is the medium, what is the platform, whether it is a film or a web series, all of these things are irrelevant. © MX Player You’re working on Toofan, right?
Yes, I am. We have completed the principal photography, we need to take care of a few things in the post-production now. First Mary Kom, and then Toofan. You seem to have an affinity for boxing, don’t you? I was actually a national champion as a boxer and have actually won a number of medals.  I grew up in a village near New Delhi's Vasant Kunj, and was a part of the local gymkhana, as a wrestler. I remember we had to dig our own akhadas.  I eventually joined boxing and then moved on to kickboxing, 10 years ago. I have always had a soft spot for sports. © Instagram/darshankumaar Coming back to The Family Man, have fans already started calling you up for season 3?
Oh yes, the team is already writing the next season. My fans have already started asking about it, and my friends are wishing that something bad happens to my character. © Instagram/darshankumaar What other projects can we see you in once things go back to normal?
We plan to start shooting the next season for Aashram.  I also have a project with T-Series where I am working with R Madhavan as the parallel lead, and then there's another project with Zee Studios where I am the lead.  Once we resume work, I will be jumping into things headfirst.

People Are Deleting Dating Apps & Sharing How They Want To Meet Someone The Old-School Way

Thanks to the pandemic, the chances of you bumping into the love of your life at a library or on the train are zero to none. Because do gaz ki doori, mask hai zaroori! Thankfully, online dating apps make it so much easier to meet someone.
© iStock All it takes is a simple swipe followed by flirty texts and pick up lines to score a date while sitting at home. While it’s convenient and fun, you can’t deny that it’s no Bollywood romance, you know with violins playing in the back (if that happens IRL).
© Dune Entertainment Plus, OLD is hard. You go through the same set of rapid fire questions, your pace doesn't match and the chances of being ghosted and catfished is much higher than when you meet someone organically.
I mean, don’t you miss the school and college romance? Or meeting someone by chance? Twitter misses it too and started a trend where people are discussing how they would want to meet ‘the one’ the old fashioned way.  © Yash Raj Films People are tweeting “deleting my dating apps because i want to meet someone the old fashioned way” followed by their wildest and filmy fantasies of how they would want to find love ‘offline’. Here are some of the best stories we came across.
