Dinesh Karthik Scored 29 In Just 8 Balls To Win Nidahas Trophy Vs Bangladesh On This Day In 2018

In what was considered to be one of the most controversial tri-series of 2018, the Nidahas Trophy between India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka saw a rare show of skills, patience and explosive batting when Indian wicket keeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik took control of the final, deflated the Bangladeshi bowling line-up and won the trophy for the Men in Blue exactly one year ago, today. Returning to the top roster after a long gap, the tri-series was more of a test for the then 32-year-old, a question of whether he's still got what it takes to be a part of the best cricket team in the world.  While India managed to make it to the final of the series without requiring a lot of help from the righty, skipper Rohit Sharma (https://www.mensxp.com/topic/rohit-sharma.html) and the squad demanded a miracle of an innings by him to be able to win it all, late in the game.  When Karthik entered the field after Manish Pandey's dismissal, India required to score 34 runs off the last two overs. The need for Karthik to hit big shots was of utmost importance as his co-batsman Vijay Shankar was struggling to connect the deliveries with his bat.  Karthik, however, had different plans altogether. Stepping on the batting crease in the 19th over, he scored 22 runs off Rubel Hossain's deliveries while also sending the last ball for a maximum to bring the trophy to India.  "Really happy to come out of this performance. Really happy for the team. We've played really well in this tournament and to not win the final would have been unfortunate. It was not that easy to bat there,” said a modest Dinesh Karthik after the game who was also named the Man of the Match for his short yet impactful innings.

They're some of the most powerful notebooks in the market, and Dell just updated its range in India. The company has launched the Alienware Area-51m, a super-powerful and an upgradeable gaming laptop, along with the thin-and-light Alienware m15. Indian Special Olympic Contingent Is Atop The Medal Tally With 30 Golds But Who Cares, Right?

The Indian contingent for the 2019 Special Olympics, which is currently taking place in Abu Dhabi, is atop the medal tally with 30 gold, 33 silver and 32 bronze medals in events ranging from roller skating, powerlifting to table tennis. Such is the versatility of Team India. But, who cares, right? The fact that 19-year-old powerlifter Manali Manoj Shelke failed thrice, redetermined her resolve, and finally succeeded in crossing her hurdles with just a little bit of persuasion by her coach, will mean absolutely nothing to us in not more than a couple of days when the Indian Premier League (IPL) begins. Special Olympics athlete Manali Manoj Shelke shows us what a true athlete is  pic.twitter.com/H2XkzIHnux — Athlete Swag (@AthleteSwag) March 15, 2019 All the effort put in by the young prodigy will be clouded by the fireworks of cricket, the sport that has achieved 'celebrity status' in a nation which takes immense pride in the diversity it possesses. No hate towards the “gentleman's game” though. The game has led to providing a living (a very luxurious one at that) for a lot of athletes, giving deals worth lakhs and crores of rupees to these players, some of whom have not even played a single game at a noteworthy level. But that's okay, right? In some days, names of Special Olympians like Supreet Singh, Rishabh Jain and Priya Prakash Gaba who, despite their disabilities, brought home the greatest laurels that they could, will be nothing more than a Google search. Hey, if they are lucky enough, maybe their names will appear in one of the questions in the next season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. Who knows? Who remembers Ranvir Singh Saini, the athlete diagnosed with autism at the age of two, who became the first Indian to win the gold in a golfing event? Who can recollect the memories of the powerhouse of a sportsperson in Phoolan Devi, who bagged yet another gold medal in powerlifting (bench press) not too long ago at the 2015 Special Olympics 2015 in Los Angeles, USA? Four days of mild to no news coverage and maybe a couple of retweets about how they have made their country proud, that's all they are worth. That's exactly what they had signed up for when they stopped feeling sorry for themselves and took up sports in this country. But, they are no cricketers so, obviously, they have no legacy. They are not worthy of well-documented stories to tell the future generations, but who cares?

Miles Away From India, Hasan Minhaj Still Makes More Sense Than Arnab Ahead Of Lok Sabha Polls

A couple of years back, a relatively unknown – at least in the Indian subcontinent – Hasan Minhaj furthered the politician-comedian parentification (don't look up the dictionary; the meme below explains the meaning of this word better) through his White House correspondents' dinner address. He took digs at the bigotry of Donald Trump & Co, but that didn't make much of an impact in India because, of course, we're stuck in deep shit of our own. © 9gag Over the course of this weekend though, the American comedian of Indian origin finally turned towards the subcontinent in an outright courageous, half-an-hour long episode about the upcoming Indian general assembly elections, on the second season of his Netflix original 'Patriot Act'. And since it touched a lot of nerves, India is kinda…umm abuzz. “Since [Narendra] Modi came to power, India has grown more hostile to minority groups. There's been a resurgence in religious nationalism, specifically Hindu nationalism, the idea that India is a Hindu nation,” opens the monologue. Ha! How dare? A bunch of trolls on my Twitter, and some of you reading this on MensXP (judging by the quality – or the lack of thereof, of a lot of comments on our Facebook page), would disagree. But the bad news for you guys is that he backs it up with solid facts (not Whatsapp forwards and 4Chan theories) to tell you how almost 300 people have been physically assaulted (including the 50 killed) in cow-related violence in India. But I don't expect this lot to understand, let alone be empathetic. After all, I was called a 'cow-eater' just last week on a metro ride to work, because I had put on a kurta (serious offence in this day and age of pigeonholed points of view). So Hasan's Pakistani (then Qatar and then Iran) spy joke hits home instantly. Me reading the comments on the latest episode. https://t.co/dSUYanFAuD pic.twitter.com/btFPPyvoE4 — Hasan Minhaj (@hasanminhaj) March 18, 2019 That's not the only talking point from the episode. An unflinching Minhaj goes on to poke fun at the Indian TV media community that is drawing the ire of international compatriots, especially for its role in the coverage of the recent Indo-Pak tensions. More TV anchors let out war cries than the concerned people and more TV studios were turned into battlefields than the actual ones. If truth be spoken, sane debates – both on air and off it, seem like a distant memory. Trust me, I'm an ex-Muslim man in the 'media business,' and get to physically interact with maybe more people than the average Indian bhakt. In his own style, Minhaj also interviews Indian National Congress' outspoken Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor for the episode (FYI, he failed to get a response from the Bharatiya Janata Party and, going by his Twitter handle, Chowkidar Narendra Modi, 'who is the first PM in the country to never hold a press conference'). The comedian goes on to revive the age-old joke of the direct proportionality between an Indian politician and the number of criminal charges against them. For crying out loud, he confronted Tharoor about his wife's murder during their interview. It's a real moment of pride when this is the actual state of Indian media at present. And finally, he also addresses the He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named of Indian politics, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) (yes, my name is Khan and I'm not a terrorist). Minhaj calls upon their problematic history and Narendra Modi's close ties with them, with reference to the rise of right-wing politics across the world in the recent past. Apart from Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adiyanath's 'Aap Ki Adalat' appearance with Rajat Sharma (another TV anchor with dicey political ties), former chief MS Golwalkar deciding to name his book 'A Bunch of Thoughts' also became the butt of his jokes. I didn't listen. #NowStreaming pic.twitter.com/7fnuDuaImW — Hasan Minhaj (@hasanminhaj) March 17, 2019 The Twitter troll army, surprisingly, did stay away from going all-out in harassing Minhaj (at least in the first 24 hours of the episode's release), despite him poking ample fun at Modiji & Co. That's, in some ways, a testimony to the narrative's middle-of-the-road approach, and in a lot of ways an unlikely masterclass for Indian TV media. Well, these were my bunch of thoughts on the show and how Minhaj's rational, hilarious, and neutral take on the Indian political climate, and the dire state of our TV 'journalism'. Without further spoilers, here is the entire episode; check it out.

As Federer & Djokovic's Era Nears Its End, 2019 Has Seen 19 Champions In First 19 Men's Finals

Success is something everyone strives for. Something for which people pour in all their hard work. And when it comes to finding success in sports, it's on a different level altogether. Always finding ways to improve, players and teams tend to give their best at every stage. Off lately, this immense level of competition has surfaced in the tennis circuit. Every player in the ATP Tour circuit has struggled their way to the top in some or the other tournament. Be it newcomers like Alex De Minaur, Laslo Djere or well-established players such as Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer, everyone has had their share in the record. It's probably for the first time that we are seeing 19 different champions in all the 19 tournaments held on the ATP circuit. It's really inspiring to see true competition and not just one player winning it all. 18 finals, 18 different champions on the #ATP Tour this season. Will Federer be the first to get to two titles or will Thiem be No.19? Via @ATPMediaInfo pic.twitter.com/4qtox7Mckd — TennisNow (@Tennis_Now) March 17, 2019 Last season, we witnessed a similar situation where every tournament on the tour was won by different players, but soon the streak came to an end when the 'GOAT', Roger Federer, won the Rotterdam Open right after grabbing his record 20th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Unlike the last season, it has been more ruthless for all the players this time around. Starting with Roberto Bautista Agut winning the Doha Open, today, it added Dominic Thiem, the 19th winner to the list, after his epic comeback win over Federer in the Indian Wells Final. Everyone thought this streak would be broken again by the Swiss Maestro but the breathtaking gameplay of the 'Dominator,' stole the show by 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win and registered his name in the history books. © AP Another great thing about this season is that the title holders include a whole lot of young guns who won their first title on the tour. Starting off with Minaur winning in Sydney and Tennys Sandgren bagging the Auckland Open title, the list is followed by Juan Ignacio Londero in Cordoba, Reilly Opelka in New York, Laslo Djere in Rio and lastly, Radu Abolt and Guido Pella in Delray Beach and Sao Paulo respectively. The domination of the young lads on the tour can be taken as a warning for the established ones to pull up their socks as the competition would just get more fierce from here.  With the next tournament being the Miami Open, let's hope we get to witness the rise of a new champion.

Shikhar Dhawan: Team India's 'Gabbar' Roars Back To From With A 143-Run Knock In 4th ODI

Arguably one of the most feared openers in limited-overs cricket, Shikhar Dhawan has proved to be a vital cog for India while batting at the top in international cricket. The left-handed batsman, alongside Rohit Sharma, also forges a deadly opening pair that is more than capable of giving the opposition bowlers a run for their money.

But, for someone who is bestowed with the responsibility of getting his team to a flying start, Dhawan has struggled to get going, let alone aid Team India with consistent knocks. If his last five One-Day International (ODI innings read: 1, 21, 0, 6 and 13, the fact that he hasn't scored a hundred in the 50-over format after 17 matches and nearly six months, goes on to highlight his misery.

And, as India continue to find the right team balance ahead of the ICC World Cup, Dhawan's dip in form was a major concern for the selectors. In fact, Dhawan's inconsistency with the willow earned him a lot of flak and saw him getting demoted from an A-plus (Rs 7 cr) contract to an A (Rs 5 cr) grade category in the players' annual contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Twitter/@BCCI However, on 10th March, none of those things mattered as the left-handed batsman played one the best ODI knocks of his career. The 33-year-old smashed a blistering 143 runs off just 115 balls, including 18 fours and three sixes to power India to a formidable total of 358 runs during 4th ODI against Australia. It was Dhawan's 16th ODI hundred and third (in the 50-over format) against the Aussies.

For someone who scored his last ODI hundred during the 2018 Asia Cup last September, Dhawan looked in ominous form right from the start as he hammered the Australian bowlers all around the park with relative ease. He also stitched a mammoth 193-run opening partnership with Rohit who missed out on a potential ton by a mere five runs. Twitter/@BCCI Dhawan was eventually bowled by Pat Cummins in the 38th over after his effort to heave the ball over midwicket failed miserably. Following his dismissal, the likes of Rishabh Pant (36), KL Rahul (26) and Vijay Shankar (26) all played a crucial role in ensuring India didn't lose momentum later in the match.

While Dhawan would surely rue missing out on his 150, the Indian opener strokeful innings and return to form had the Indian fans lauding his effort. So happy for Shikhar Dhawan! He is a fantastic one day batsman and now he has got a big score under his belt. And yes, well done to the selectors for picking him this game. ðð#INDvAUS — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) March 10, 2019

Jasprit Bumrah's Towering Six Has Virat Kohli Jumping In Joy & Cricket Fans Singing His Praise

After taking a crucial 2-0 lead in the five-match series, the Indian cricket team's marauding run came to a halt as Australia romped their way to a 32-run triumph in the 3rd One-Day International (ODI) at the JSCA international stadium in Ranchi. For a team that is considered one of the strongest batting units in international cricket, Indian batsmen, barring Virat Kohli, failed to negate the Aussies in the third match of the series.

But, on 10th March, the batting woes that had given India a reality check in Ranchi were nowhere to be found as the hosts romped their way to a mammoth 358-run total in the 4th ODI at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium in Mohali.

Opting to bat first, India were given a sensational start by Shikhar Dhawan (143) and Rohit Sharma (95) who hammered the opposition bowlers all around the park during their 193-run opening partnership. If the openers got India to a flyer, the pivotal cameos by Rishabh Pant (36) and Vijay Shankar (26) ensured their side didn't lose momentum later in the game. Twitter/@BCCI While there was no shortage of star performers during India's innings, there was one man who stole the limelight from the rest.

Arguably one of the best death-overs bowlers in limited-overs cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is known for his bowling prowess and ability to get the better of some of the best batsmen in business. But, when he came out to face Pat Cummins for the final delivery of India's innings, neither a cricket pundit, nor any fan would have anticipated what Bumrah had in store for them. Virat Kohli after seeing Bumrah hit six  #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/ZOFZnMrICr — Ananth (@Imanantht) March 10, 2019
Cummins had just notched up his five-for after dismissing Yuzvendra Chahal a ball earlier and probably fancied his chances of claiming a sixth scalp in the match. But, it wasn't meant to be as Bumrah smashed the length delivery over midwicket for a towering six. And, while Bumrah's hit was quite surprising, the reactions were pretty obvious. That moment when @Jaspritbumrah93 hits the last ball for a maximum ðð#INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/e6iOHorg8N — BCCI (@BCCI) March 10, 2019

Bumrah's meaty blow had Cummins in disbelief, Kohli jumping in excitement and the Mohali crowd on their feet. Walking off with a wide grin, Bumrah was mighty pleased with his six which powered India to 358-run total in the end. It was the first six for Bumrah in international cricket. He now has seven sixes to his name, four in List A games and three in T20s. That last six from Bumrah had everyone in splits. Even on an excellent batting surface, 358 is a formidable score. — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) March 10, 2019

The Internet Has Declared Goose The Cat As The Real Hero Of 'Captain Marvel', Sorry Brie

The internet was originally made to just share cat pictures and memes, true story, so it's obvious that any cat can outshine anyone and anything. That's exactly what happened in 'Captain Marvel' as well. Yes, Brie Larson was great as the most powerful superhero in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe but people thought that there was another hero in the movie that even Captain Marvel couldn't match up to - Goose the cat! Yep, the adorable little kitty not only distracted Nick Fury as we saw in the trailers but us as well when we watched the movie. The number of people just talking about Goose after watching the movie is insane, I don't think anyone is even talking about Brie Larson that much. Sorry Brie, you're awesome but even you can't compete with a cat. Spoiler ahead, just FYI. Ever since Goose came on-screen, it was just an unassuming cat who ended up going to space with Nick Fury and Carol Danvers. But, then the tentacles came out. Yes, Goose was an alien, more specifically a Flerken that has tentacles that can swallow several people whole and save Nick Fury's life. So, this is what people were talking about when they said Goose is a scene-stealer. confirmed. goose will defeat thanos. pic.twitter.com/DZPAAfmYb5 — captain* (@iamgeekingout) March 10, 2019 Yes! talos when people kept saying goose was a simple cat #CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/ASKf4U0cS4 — marilia (@brieourguest) March 9, 2019 Accurate. nick fury with avengers vs nick fury with carol and goose pic.twitter.com/nr5PRwBP83 — carol (@lizzieolses) March 10, 2019 I would vote for him. The Stan Lee Tribute In 'Captain Marvel' Is Making People Cry & Applaud The Legend

Marvel fans are still mourning the loss of the legend that is Stan Lee and he obviously needed an amazing farewell from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they managed to pull that off with 'Captain Marvel'. It's the first MCU movie to release after Stan's passing, so obviously, a fitting tribute was in order. Warning, slight spoiler ahead. Remember the Marvel logo intro from every movie? With all the superheroes from the MCU? Well, a lot of people were expecting to see Captain Marvel herself join that but Marvel had something far more special planned. It was a Stan Lee tribute, and a beautiful one at that. The intro had already made people emotional and then made them sit at the edge of their seats waiting for one of the last Stan Lee cameos ever.  People on Twitter shared their reaction to that Stan Lee tribute and how everyone in the theatres started applauding almost everywhere. They did a quick tribute to Stan Lee at the beginning of #CaptainMarvel & everyone clapped. It was beautiful. — ð ð¤ ð ð ð (@Tanya_HanaKim) March 8, 2019 Yes, it is. #CaptainMarvel has an awesome Stan Lee tribute, had the theater cheering from the very start.  His cameo is super well done also. — [TCA]mutamatt (@mutamatt) March 8, 2019 Yes, please, that would be so awesome. hey @Marvel can you please keep the opening tribute to @TheRealStanLee in every movie now because it was amazing. #CaptainMarvel — ash (@ashtothemoon) March 8, 2019 He has a cameo is 'Endgame' as well right? Can I just say that Stan Lee's cameo in Captain Marvel is his best. — ð»(@SauronDark0) March 8, 2019 Everyone's reaction. The rear has a Sony IMX586 sensor paired along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera. Thanks to the high resolution, pictures have an incredible amount of detail. The new SoC employs software “gaming enhancements” that promise up to 90 per cent fewer stutters. Qualcomm enables the hardware and software to support both bokeh (portrait modes) and HDR shots in a single shot. 7. Battery: It has a 4000mAh battery and the phone finally ships with USB-C. The phone supports Quick Charge 4 but it comes bundled with a 10W charger. The battery is sufficient to get you through a day's heavy usage.

5 Super Expensive Pieces From Diljit Dosanjh's Wardrobe We Love But Probably Can Never Afford

Diljit Dosanjh is probably the only other fashionista in the country who can give Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar a solid run for their money when it comes to maximalism.  His raw, rustic appeal is a perfect contrast against the hypebeast appeal his clothes exude. His wardrobe can legit be used as a fashion masterclass when it comes to brand-spotting, and some of them are super expensive (duh). Here are 5 pieces that we love, and probably can never afford. 1. The Dapper Dan Necklace From Gucci © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This one, without a doubt, is Diljit's favourite accessory. He has worn it with almost every statement outfit of his and rocked it every single time. It costs a whopping Rs 2.4 Lakhs. 2. The Oversized Purple Teddy Bear Sweater From Amiri © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh The super playful oversized purple sweater from Amiri with a teddy bear patch costs 1190 Dollars, which when converted to INR, is around Rs 83,500. In its defence, it's really cute. 3. The 'Blame It On My Youth' Leather Jacket By Misbhv © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh Who won't want to own this classic piece with the super funky slogan? They can, of course, if they can spare Rs. 82.500. 4. Balenciaga Oversized Padded Logo-Print Cotton-Poplin Shirt © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This cotton-poplin shirt with extra-big sleeves from Balenciaga costs INR 1,22,520. 5. Jeans From Gosha Rubchinskiy © Viral Bhayani It's 'not much', but will you be willing to pay INR 36,270 for a pair of jeans? Probably, if you're Diljit! Some day, Paaji, some day.

4 Times Virat Kohli Celebrated His Achievements In The Most Epic Manner

Ever since Delhi boy Virat Kohli became the captain of the Indian cricket team, subtlety has been knocked out of the park.  Mahendra Singh Dhoni's era as the skipper was full of awards and achievements but the man had a cool and calm attitude which reflected in his celebrations. While Kholi's reign has not lacked in bringing laurels for the country, the intensity of commemorating them has definitely gone up dramatically. Make no mistake, these are great ways of expressing your achievements and hey, when you are the best cricketer in the world, who are we to criticise?  Therefore, joining the bandwagon of crazy fans of the sport, we list out the four times Virat Kohli celebrated his achievement in the most epic ways: 1. 'My Bat Does The Talking' Cricket has always been a gentleman's game but that does not stop the players from mouthing off hurtful things to their opponents every once in a while. Something similar happened during India's latest visit Down Under when bowler Pat Cummins assured the whole world that Kohli will not be scoring a century during this tour. If you know anything about Kohli, you know that he is never one to shy away from challenges. During the second Test match that took place in Perth King Kohli sent the ball for the boundary on the third day to record his 5th Test century of 2018 and then did this: An incredible innings from a remarkable player. What a celebration from Virat Kohli! #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/kTHMmycfFb — Cricket Network (@CricketNetwork) December 16, 2018 2. Mic Drop During the final ODI match between England and India in 2018, English skipper Joe Root celebrated his brilliant knock with a move he derived from musicians and rockstars and maybe even the former US President, Barack Obama when he dropped his bat on the floor while Kohli looked on.  During the first Test match up the next month, however, it was Virat's turn to give Root a taste of his own medicine. A brilliant direct-throw to the wickets on Root's side led him back to the dressing room. On his way back, from the corner of his eye, Root could see Kohli drop the imaginary mic to celebrate the farewell. 3. The Pujara Dance This one comes after the historic Test-series victory against Tim Paine's team on Australian soil. Following a masterclass of a batting performance by India's second Wall, Cheteshwar Pujara (193), India went on to win the four-match Test series 2-1 after the third Test was cancelled due to rain and bad light. Kohli brought in Pujara and the rest of the team in a hurdle to celebrate the feat. in the funniest way possible, by doing the 'Pujara Dance'. Albeit, Rishabh Pant was the one who came up with the 'moves', it was Kohli who did the impossible when he made Pujara dance as well. Cheteshwar Pujara: can bat, can't dance? ð¤£ð¤£

Celebrations have well and truly begun for Team India! #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/XUWwWPSNun — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) January 7, 2019 4. Kiss For The Belle During the third Test match against England at Trent Bridge all the way back in August of 2018, Virat Kohli notched a heroic 149-run innings to bring the Men in Blue back into the game. His wife Anushka Sharma was present at the venue as well and saw him take the English bowlers to task. As the batsman secured his 23rd ton in Test cricket, he took his helmet off and began to blow flying kisses to his wife, who stood tall in the stands, proud of Kohli's achievements. Siddhant Chaturvedi's Life Story From Being A CA Student To MC Sher Sounds Like A Movie Itself

'Gully Boy'opened to rave reviews and immense appreciation, both at the box office and by the audience. While it was already expected that Zoya Akhtar'storytellingng will kill it with the brilliance of Alia and Ranveer mixed together, what really stood out as a brilliant surprise was the character of MC Sher, played by actor Siddhant Chaturvedi. View this post on Instagram Polished over time, some words. Rusted over dreams, some feelings. . #SundaySymphony . However, like most successful stories, Siddhant had his own share of blows and lows to reach where he is right now. He shared his story of how acting happened and what all he traded on his way up to reach this juncture with 'Humans Of Bombay'. View this post on Instagram “My father has always been fond of Cinema, so he'd take me to watch movies every Friday & my love affair with Cinema began. My dad would play Salman songs on tape & I'd dance! I even had Shahrukh's 'COOL' necklace! I was always inclined towards art-the first poem I wrote was for a girl in 9th grade. She turned me down, but I continued writing, not knowing where it'd lead. Still, my primary career option was to become a CA, like my father! So I studied, never once thinking about acting. That seed was planted when in college, I got into the drama team. I realised I loved it! But I had to leave it to focus on my CA exams. Between college & my classes–I barely slept! But I knew I had to finish my education– I was doing it for the heck of it, but once I started, I needed to reach that finish line. So I cleared my exams, just 15 marks away from the rank! If you ask me, what my biggest achievement is–it's not acting. I knew I'd achieve that, but it's passing my exams, because that's something I never wanted to do. Later, before my finals, I asked my dad for time to focus on acting. I'd go with my friends to auditions. In my first audition, they told me to 'learn how to look at the camera first & then come back.' But through it all, my dad was my true MC Sher. He said, 'be patient & don't undersell yourself ever, to always chase my dreams & he'll give me food & a roof so that I could do what I wanted. He gave me the freedom to decide & dream. So after 4 years of struggle, with more auditions & more rejections, Inside Edge happened. Because the makers had a vision which my talent fit into! After which– I met Zoya Akhtar at the success party & danced with her on Gallan Goodiyan. As fate would have it, she asked me to audition for Gully Boy, for the role that changed my life. After the release, I received a letter from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan himself & when I handed that over to my father, the biggest Bachchan fan, it was the best moment of my life. His face said it all. The Jonas Brothers' 'Sucker' Has A Desi Spoof Version & It's Way Better Than The Original Song

In 1999, Sooraj Barjatya came up with 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', a movie that gave us the iconic song 'ABCDEFGHI...I LOVE YOU' (is it just me or you too sang this while reading it), and gave Salman Khan a bag full of controversies.  Now, after a decade, people are going crazy over 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' once again for the most hilariously relatable reason.  After a hiatus of 5 years, the Jonas Brothers are back in business and have released their latest song 'Sucker', which also features their respective partners Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas.  While 'Sucker' is a huge hit globally and has already garnered over 33 million views in 48 hours, in India, the song ended up making 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' trend, as people couldn't help but draw funny comparisons between the two.  Jonas Brothers While most of us were busy laughing on the joke, someone actually went ahead and created a parody video that will leave you in splits.  View this post on Instagram I'm dead ð #jonasbrothers #joejonas #sophieturner #daniellejonas #nickjonas #nickyanka #priyankachopra #priyanka #priyanka_chopra #priyankachoprafans #bollywood #bollywoodmemes #desi #desimeme #desimemes #desicomedy #indian #bengali #pakistani #punjabi #memes #humsaathsaathhain #salmankhan #beingsalmankhan #salman #salmankhanrules A post shared by Sha Miah (@sha.miah) on Mar 1, 2019 at 12:16pm PST Honestly, after watching this video, you will never be able to see the original MV in the same light again.

The 1-Minute Teaser Of 'Saaho' Starring Prabhas & Shraddha Kapoor Is Better Than 'Race 3'

Actress Shraddha Kapoor turned 32 today and the makers of her upcoming film 'Saaho' have the most kickass birthday gift for her - 'Shades Of Saaho Chapter 2'. This one-minute teaser gives a sneak-peek into the making of the high-octane action scenes and her character. UV Creations For someone who spends 70 crores just to blow up cars, bikes and trucks in Abu Dhabi, you can't expect anything but the best and this behind-the-scenes video is proof of the same. Call it a tradition or an epic promotion strategy, the makers of 'Saaho' sure know how to get people's attention. Last year, they released the first BTS teaser of Chapter 1 on Prabhas' birthday and this year, they picked Shraddha's birthday to release the second teaser and introduce her character too.  UV Creations While Shraddha plays a cop in the movie, everyone's beloved Baahubali will have to face enemies more fierce than Bhallaldeva, Kalakeyas and Katappa. Four Of The Highest Totals Ever Scored In IPL History

Arguably the best T20 league in the cricketing world, the Indian Premier League, is back with its 12th edition along quite some changes in the team names and their squads too. We have witnessed new records replacing the old ones, and with the addition of newcomers and the shake-up of the experienced ones, this year's IPL also has a high probability of breaking all records from the past seasons. One of the most difficult records to break would be that of the highest total, which is currently possessed by none other than THE Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring a mammoth 263 runs in mere 20 overs against the Pune Warriors with the help of a 'Gayle storm' at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the 2013 season. Let's go through all the highest total ever scored in IPL history: Royal Challengers Bangalore's 265-5 Vs Pune Warriors (2013) © BCCI RCB was reckoned to be one of the most lethal teams in the history of IPL till they were backed by the trio of AB De Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Chris Gayle. In their years together, this trio has gone on to play some magnificent knocks, and the score of 265 being one of them. April 23, 2013, would have been a normal day for everyone if Chris Gayle wouldn't have decided to score a monstrous 175 of just 66 deliveries, consisting of 17 humongous sixes and 13 fours. With Gayle registering the highest score in T20 cricket, Pune Warriors could only manage to post 133, paving the way for Bangalore to earn the record of the biggest IPL victory in terms of runs (130). Royal Challengers Bangalore's 248-3  Vs Gujrat Lions (2016) © Facebook@RCB After putting up a gigantic total of 265 on board in 2013, RCB seemed in full mood to replicate that innings but this time, with ABD and King Kohli on the field. After registering the highest total in the history of IPL, RCB bagged the position for the second highest total also by posting 248 on the scoreboard against Gujrat Lions in the 9th edition of the league. This mighty total was courtesy 'Mr. 360 Degree' who was not out on 129 and skipper Kohli who contributed 109 runs in the total. Chennai Super Kings' 246-5  Vs Rajasthan Royals (2010) © AFP The title holders of 2010 IPL, Chennai Super Kings, produced a spectacular show against the Rajasthan Royals, posting 246 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 3, 2010. The special knock was played by the home lad Murli Vijay as he scored a brilliant 127 off meagre 56 balls with 11 sixes and eight fours. Vijay's score that year was the second highest after Brendon McCullum's 158. He also became the third Indian to score a century in an IPL match after Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan. The way Vijay hammered the Australian trio of Shaun Tait, Shane Warne and Shane Watson, it seemed like he was playing in some local league. He slaughtered the Royals bowlers, who failed in every attempt to make a comeback during the game. Kolkata Knight Riders' 245-6 Vs Kings XI Punjab (2018) © BCCI Kolkata Knight Riders were one of the star performers of the 2018 IPL and their newly discovered opener, Sunil Naraine was in itself the biggest surprise of the season. Throughout, he kept performing with both, the ball and the bat. In the battle against Kings XI Punjab, Naraine once again opened the innings and blasted the bowling line up of Punjab by scoring a quick 75 in 36 balls with the help of four 6's and nine 4's. Once he was gone, the baton was handed over to Dinesh Kartik who went on to score a decent 50, posting 245-6 on the scoreboard. Kings XI showed good character and almost reached the target, but in the end, could register only 218 runs on the board, eventually losing the match by 18 runs.

10 Tasty Things To Munch On To Get That Glowing Skin

If you don't have the perfect Instagram skin like the Kardashians because, hello IRL dirt, sweat and 28347 other factors that lead to pimples, scars, blackheads, whiteheads, open pores and a million other problems, then you might want to read this.  Apart from stuff that requires an actual effort like having a fixed beauty regime in place: buying products, not having it get shrouded by dust on a bookshelf but actually using them, home remedies that sound exciting but no one gets around to executing them, because life.  You could also choose the simpler path of taking care of your skin by way eating yummy foods that boost the skin cells for healthier and glowing skin.  But here's the good news, there are certain yummy foods out there that you can put inside your belly that builds your natural immunity against the bacterial infestations that lead to pimples and other gross pop-outs. The best part is that it also fights against the probability of getting skin cancer.  First of all, know the thumb rule of sugar: foods high in sugar are especially highly detrimental for the health of your skin, however, some skin-friendly foods might also surprise you for example chocolate and red wine (when consumed in moderation, duh there was obviously going to be a catch!) So aside, from a beauty regime that you should have in place, here are foods you should have that catalyze the process of getting skin brighter than the sun: 1. Salmon © Getty Images The ray-finned fish, Salmon gets its pink colour from a carotenoid called astaxanthin, which by the way is regarded with the prestigious label of 'nature's most potent antioxidant'. Astaxanthin is, in fact, more potent than Vitamins C and E, and also helps encourage build up of collagen and minimizes damage like wrinkles and blisters from the harsh rays of the sun. 2. Green Tea © Getty Images The natural ingredient has polyphenols and catechins which improve skin's elasticity and help protect against sun damage. Green tea is also a powerful fighter against skin cancer.  3. Blueberries  © Getty Images Blueberries get the blue colour from being rich in a powerful antioxidant called anthocyanins. They're also super rich in vitamins A, C, and E, and together they encourage skin tightness and firmness.  4. Kale  © Getty Images Kale is regarded as a superfood, Because of its richness in the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin. A strong antioxidant, it helps minimize UV damage. It's is also rich in Vitamins A and C, all of these are good at boosting collagen. 5. Carrots  © Getty Images Carrots are super rich in beta-carotene, and also can add a healthy radiance on the skin if consumed in the right amount. Too much, however, can result in an orange hue on your face. 6. Tomatoes © Getty Images The tomato paste from boiled tomatoes is rich in lycopene: the antioxidant that benefits prostate. Coming to the skin, it helps build immunity against sun protection. 7. Olive Oil  © Getty Images Olive oil has good things like: monounsaturated fat (the good fat) and antioxidant polyphenols to protect against the smog, smoke, and the sun. So, replace the vegetable oil with something that'll be good for your skin. 8. Rosemary © Getty Images Rosemary is a great herb to use on your skin: rich in antioxidants, the herb when used frequently in your meals has been shown to decrease melanoma (skin-cancer) risk. 9. Red Wine  © Getty Images This pointer might get you jumping with excitement. The red wine is rich in resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant with anti-cancer properties and pro-collagen effects on the skin which is always a plus. 10. Dark Chocolate  © Getty Images Dark chocolate is known to be rich in cocoa flavanols, which has been proven to have helped with making the skin smooth. Make sure that you're picking a 70-per cent dark chocolate blend or higher. But consuming too much is a bad idea.

5G Is Just Around The Corner & Here Are The Phones That Will Support It

The MWC 2019 was abuzz with discussions around foldable phones and their future. With every brand trying to grab the spotlight, foldable phones are said to be a major leap for mobile technology. At the same time though, the other side of the tradeshow was all about one thing - 5G. While hardware makers were trending foldable phones, wireless equipment makers and telecom operators were going crazy over the next generation of wireless communication. Chip makers like Qualcomm have already announced platforms to support 5G, and companies are now in a race to launch at least one phone with 5G support in their arsenal. Here's a list of all the phones that shall support 5G and are expected to launch soon! 1. Samsung Galaxy S10 5G © CNET The recently announced S10 family has already received a lot of attention from the media as well as users. Celebrating 10 years of the S-series, Samsung has tested the limits of technology this year.  The Galaxy S10 5G was announced alongside the rest of the S10 lineup last week and it sports the same display, battery, and camera as the mainstream variant. But, it runs on an Exynos 9820 processor, coupled along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G support. It shall come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal memory configuration only, and does not support expandable storage, possibly due to larger 5G components. It shall launch in the second half of 2019, exclusively via Verizon in the US. Pricing hasn't been announced yet and we don't think it'll sell without a contract in the beginning. 2. Huawei Mate X © BCCL This phone blends the two most interesting aspects of technology right now, bendable display and 5G. Huawei isn't only a phone maker, but also a major force behind the manufacturing of telecom equipment. Hence, the brand says the Mate X will be the world's fastest 5G foldable phone thanks to its expertise in the enterprise segment. The phone houses an in-house Balong 5000 5G modem, though we aren't sure when and where you'll be actually able to use it. American carriers are expected to roll-out 5G in the coming one year, and considering recent Huawei - U.S government turmoil, it's a possibility the Mate X never makes it to the USA. Even this phone doesn't have an availability date or price right now. 3. Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 © Pocketlint Instead of launching a brand new phone, Xiaomi is choosing the wise path of launching a 5G variant of an existing model. The design, display, and camera continue to remain unchanged, and the processor has been upgraded from Snapdragon 845 to 855. Further support is added thanks to the X50 modem. Xiaomi has been transparent and says it'll retail for €599 ($679) in May. This is among the cheapest 5G phones we are seeing right now, and even Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon said he didn't expect 5G phones to be as cheap as Xiaomi's device. 4. LG V50 © TrustedReviews Even LG chose to launch a 5G variant of its existing phone, the V40 "ThinQ". And, LG wants to be extremely noisy about it and has added a glowing 5G logo on the back. The design has gotten a little bulky, presumably to make space for Snapdragon 855 and surrounding antennas. Even the battery is slightly larger at 4000mAh. A price hasn't been announced and the company said it'll be available by March-end, or whenever a carrier partner is ready to roll out 5G. © Twitter These are a few phones that are confirmed to ship soon. A few companies like OnePlus, OPPO, and Sony showed off prototype phones running 5G. These were just meant to show us that they are ready with a 5G offering and are waiting for the right time to launch.  Incorporating a 5G modem right now is not only expensive but also challenging from a design point of view. Hence, until 5G is rolled out to a sufficient number of users worldwide, it makes no sense to launch compatible phones.

Top 10 Video Games Every 90's Kid Grew Up Playing

Sit down, grab some tissues, and get ready to embrace nostalgia as we take a trip down the memory lane with the top 10 classic games every 90's kid grew up playing. 1. Road Rash (1995) Despite the fact that there were three more 'Road Rash' games before the 1995 version came out, this version of the game has taken over our generation. The ability to punch, kick and steal other racers' weapons while racing? Oh, come on now! 2. Super Mario Bros. In an attempt to save your princess as the Italian-American plumber Mario, you go through a series of complicated worlds and levels coming in contact with different kinds of enemies on the way. However, your role as Mario or Luigi was directly related to whether you are the older or the younger sibling. 3. Contra One of the first 'Gun and Run' games ever, Contra was a story about two soldiers going to war against the evil Red Falcon Organisation in the year 2633. The different variety of ammunition provided to us by the game put us in a tough spot but surely, every single Contra player had their favourite weaponry. 4. Dangerous Dave The makers of Dangerous Dave have admitted that the game was their attempt to mimic Mario and it is evident in their work as similarities in the levels, movement, enemies, etc would be observed. The idea was to help Dave get through 10 levels to battle his rival Clyde in his secret hideout. 5. Lion King We KNOW that you have seen 'Lion King' the movie and we KNOW that you loved it. So it is obvious that you played the game too. Based on the events from the movies, you play as Simba, going through the most difficult areas and puzzles of the jungle. 6. Wolfenstein ften called the “Grandfather of 3D shooters”, Wolfenstein introduced us to the genre of First Person Shooting (FPS). As an American spy of Polish descent, you are on a mission to bring down the rule of Nazi and the death of their leader Adolf Hitler. The retro gaming style with the overall aesthetics way ahead of its time, Wolfenstein was one of the most challenging games from our childhood. 7.  Doom An offspring of Wolfenstein, Doom came out a year later in 1993. Taking FPS to the future, the plot of the story is based in the technologically advanced year of 2019 (yes, time flies). After an entire species of man-eating aliens gets in contact with the humans on Mars, you, a space marine, are the only thing keeping them from reaching earth. 8. Virtua Cop One of the most popular items at the gaming parlour, Virtua Cop was a really engaging 'Point & Click' game. As far as the story goes, your colleague from the police department gets murdered while trying to bring a large crime syndicate. Getting hold of the evidence, you detective Michael Hardy along with your partner James Cools must fight against this organisation called E.V.I.L. Inc. *sigh* 9.
