10 Brilliant Shows Of This Decade Which Were Gamechangers In The Entertainment World

In case you haven't realised it, 2019 marks the end of a full decade. As we embark on a new journey walking into 2020 with life lessons and emotional baggage, we thought what are a few things that will stay with us from this soon to be ex of ours. One of the best things was the kind of entertainment content we got to watch as viewers in these past couple of years. So to help us all, we decided to curate a list of the 10 best shows which were entertainment gamechangers. Now you might differ in your opinion and that is perfectly okay, but here are some of the most loved shows of this decade. 1. Game Of Thrones The finale of one of the most watched shows in the history of television was kind of disappointing for a lot of fans out there, but there is a reason why GOT became the epic saga of emotions which enjoyed a cult fan following for over 8 years of its existence. The magnanimous scale of production, absolutely surprising storylines, breathtaking cinematography, and literally everything about this show changed the way an epic is lived on the screen. 2. Stranger Things An American sci-fi show based in 1984, kids running with walkie-talkies, an 'upside down' world where a hungry demon awaits to devour everything in its way are some of the basic ingredients that make this show a big success. Following the adventures of these kids makes you want to be a part of this 'cool' group yourself. Clearly one of the best sci-fi dramas we watched in the last 10 years. 3. Sacred Games The only TV show which put India on the global map of how brilliantly one can serve entrainment on a platter. Sacred Games is a collective par excellence effort of Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap brought to life with the mad genius of Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The complicated relationship between Sartaj Singh and gangster Ganesh Gaitonde and the web of lies he's trapped with are some of the key ingredients which made this show the success it became. 4. Fleabag Phoebe Waller-Bridge did something which most women-oriented shows only attempt to do. Fleabag hit the bull's eye when it first made its debut over two years ago. The freshly packed rawness of absolutely relatable characters make your heart heavy, leave you with uncomfortable contradictory thoughts after every episode, leave you with pearls of laughter and sometimes make you wonder how brilliantly the flaws have been put on display. Needless to say, this show swept a lot of awards this year, a win which was rightly deserved. 5. Crown A show that makes it to this list not only because it is wonderfully and tastefully done, but also because it is a History lover's aesthetic delight. The show chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth and the whole circle of humans around her. Each scene is like a beautifully carved scripture and demands your full attention. 6. Black Mirror This dystopian anthropological series might give you the chills with a few episodes, but Black Mirror left people asking for more all the time. This show takes the credit for being one of the most compelling shows in the history of television. If you ever want to think how the future of the human species looks like, pick any episode and treat yourself with some discomfort thrown with a lot of awe in equal measure. 7. Peaky Blinders One of those marvellously made shows which enjoy a constant amount of viewership, courtesy its brilliant scriptwriting.  Fans find this show to be an addictive watch and the strongly portrayed characters make for a must-watch in case you haven't watched it already. 8. Sherlock Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective series came to life with this British show which enjoys a stellar fan following. Benedict Cumberbatch's brilliant portrayal of the detective has made it one of the most iconic characters in the history of television. 9. Rick & Morty This American adult cartoon finds it place on this list for the kind of craziness it has managed to brew amongst its fan following. The cynical world of their sci-fi adventures addresses deep philosophical questions about human existence and life in general. 10. Homeland There are a lot of series which deal with the cat and mouse chase between the authorities and the people running away from them but none of them are remotely as gripping and packed with so much suspense as Homeland. Following the way being paved by Carrie Mathinson and her mentor Saul is a visual delight. Each season follows a different storyline and each of them are equally gripping. There is not a single dull moment as you try to unravel the mystery yourself. Let us know what are some of your favourite shows so we can add them to this list and help everyone curate a 'must watch' list of their own!

Bobby Deol's Black T-Shirt Is More Confusing Than The Jantar Mantar

Talk of the latest style nuances and you'd realise, that ripped-to-bits grails are the ones being talked about in fashion circles. Because predominantly, owing to their badass and hypebeast feels, these shredded jeans, T-shirts, sweatshirts have the biggest following right now. And thanks to celebrity trends in India, they have a lot of backing too. But talk of famous guys like Saif Ali Khan, Shah Rukh Khan (who're not very keen on ripped jeans yet) and you'd notice how even today, plain light/dark wash jeans solve the purpose for most. They pair them with henleys, plain T-shirts, kurtas etc. These 'celebrated humans' rather play safe than make friends with Kanye West, you know. But once again, this is just another section of famous men. Guys like Bobby Deol AKA still-a-relevant-name in Bollywood have their own theory of apparel play. If his recent airport outing is any indication, he's really been wearing some insane gear right now, contrary to what he's worn in the past. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Moving on to the present, however, here's what the actor wore to the airport recently: © Viral Bhayani For starters, if looked closely, there's an acute absence of colour in the outfit here. While that's nothing to take him down for, we wish there was some on the footwear at least. Though, the tint on his sunnies is compensating for the colour-ignorance anyway, we're not very pleased. Nevertheless, time to break the outfit down. His black T-shirt (the star attraction here), might make you try and figure out what the hell's going on at the hem. Is it ripped, snipped with a scissor or shall we just call it an asymmetrical hemline? It's quite a confusing sight honestly but whatever it is, it looks insane.  Coming to his black breed of jeans now, that in all probability, have been treated with wax to appear borderline-shiny/matte, so that they possess their own stand in a rather, saturated world of denim in 2018. That said, even the fit of the pair is reaching the likes of glove-like fits and appearing like it was literally born for him. Bravo! © Viral Bhayani Is this a brand-new style phase for the actor? Is he headed for big revamp (or comeback)? Whatever it is, we're 100% down for it (just not in the form of DJ Bobby Deol).

SRK Just Did Something Funny Yet Bizarre On Instagram & We Need Your Help In Decoding It

On days when Bollywood's Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan is not busy giving romance lessons to the world or asking the gorgeous Cate Blanchett for a selfie at Davos, he serves visual treat on a platter called Instagram for all his fans to gorge on. But, if it's a Sunday and he has nothing to do just like most of us, then his Instagram account can turn into an enigma code or the cryptic codes from 'The Matrix', making it difficult for us to decipher what he truly means. Instagram Well, maybe we exaggerated a bit, but after watching this video, we are sure you are going to feel the same way as we do - confused to an extent where we don't know how to react, so we like the post, tag our friends and leave it to their imagination to decode what exactly it was. In the video, SRK is seen wearing a tuxedo, his cool dark glasses and hair slicked back as he gears up to give a special surprise to his fans. Before we could understand what was happening, he dunked his face right inside the water, and played a couple of his famous dialogues. This didn't go as planned...but on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with my limited floatation expertise..this is the best I could do! Judge nahi karna, feel karna...Thx. A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on Feb 11, 2018 at 2:42am PST Well, like he said in the caption of the post, “Judge nahi karna, feel karna.” So we'll leave it at that and ask you guys to take charge and help us figuring out in what he was doing.

These Are The Top 6 Torrent Sites That Still Work In 2018

At the beginning of 2017, the torrent landscape looks quite different from a year ago. With the shutdown of KickassTorrents and Torrentz.eu, two of the largest players in the scene disappeared. However, their places were quickly filled by established sites and a few new faces. The Pirate Bay is in the lead once again, closely followed by ExtraTorrent and RARBG, which gained many new visitors in recent months. We've made a list of the best Torrent sites for India! 1. The Pirate Bay If you've heard of KickassTorrents or Torrentz, the chances are that you've probably heard of The Pirate Bay (TPB). Dubbed “the galaxy's most resilient BitTorrent site,” TPB has evaded numerous shutdowns and domain seizures in recent years. A simple interface, a huge selection of torrents, and minimal adverts all contribute to TPB's popularity. If there ever was an alternative or successor to KickassTorrents, TPB is it! Go to The Pirate Bay 2. YTS.AG YTS.ag is in no way affiliated with the original YTS or YIFY group but successfully took its place late last year. Not all other torrent sites are happy with the 'brand hijack' and several are actively banning its releases. YTS is known for its visual appearance. Moving along the line of other torrent indexing sites, the home page now only features a search page. Pirated content mostly fuels YTS but the looks are enough to give a tough competition to some popular streaming services. Go to YTS.AG 3. RARBG:  RARBG, which started out as a Bulgarian tracker, has gained the hearts and minds of many video pirates. Movies and TV-shows with a RARBG tag are a common sight on other torrent indexes as well. The site was founded in 2008 but only made its first appearance in the top ten in 2015. Go to RARBG 4. 1337x: 1337X is another torrent site that has recently emerged following the demise of KAT and ExtraTorrent. Founded in 2007, a full revamp of the 1337X site brought a massive jump in traffic. 1337x had some issues a year ago, when several of the admins and moderators protested over security concerns. However, much progress has been made since. The site improved, kept growing in traffic, and recently rolled out a new design as well. Go to 1337x 5. LIMETORRENTS: Limetorrents.cc regained a spot in the top ten this year. The site's operator also launched the torrent cache iTorrents a few months ago, which is used by several other torrent search engines. It appears quite easy to find a healthy torrent and what makes LimeTorrents one of the best torrent sites is the regular updating of content. The torrent site features separate web pages where it provides updated lists for the top 100 torrents trending the most, and the latest torrents uploaded to the site. Go to LIMETORRENTS 6. Zooqle: It's a relatively new name in the BitTorrent ecosystem, but it is rising in the success charts pretty quickly. For this rise, the credit is to be given to the steadily increasing number of torrents. Users can easily navigate and find things using the neat and clean interface of the website which is complemented by the lack of intrusive advertisements. The content on Zooqle is mainly TV Show torrents and Movie torrents, but the popular torrent site also hosts torrents related to software, games, etc., for different device platforms. Go to Zooqle

Akshay & Kartik Founded 'Log 9 Materials' & It's A Revolution In The Field Of Nanotechnology

The desire to build something of their own and focus their grey cells honed by academic excellence in the field of technology, made two friends set out on a very innovative journey, which could change how the world views Indian technology.  Akshay Singhal has been working in the field of Nanotechnology for the last 7 years and hold great knowledge of Nanotechnology and Material Science. Along with co-founder Kartik Hajela, the duo set out to build Log 9 Materials from a lab set up in Akshay's backyard. © Mensxp Log 9 Materials is one of our country's leading Nanotechnology companies that specializes in Graphene. So, while Akshay looks after overall research and operations of Log 9 Materials. Kartik takes care of the commercial and market introduction aspect of the products that are launched by the company. However, the duo swears by Graphene and the immense potential it holds. What Is Graphene? © Mensxp Graphene is the most advanced form of Carbon that exists in this world, which was discovered in 2004. Related to graphite at the core, but Graphene is different in properties. It is more conducting than copper and stronger than steel! It has such diverse properties that can be put to use in different areas across the board. What Does Log 9 Material Do? The first product that they launched when they were in college, was a cigarette filter called PPuF. Next, they began to explore the oil filtration domain, and the findings so far have been very promising. They came up with the Log9 Pad which is laced with graphene, which can bring about a positive change during oil spills by absorbing the oil spilt on the water surface. © Mensxp However, their latest product in the pipeline is the Metal-Air Battery. Kartik says, “The battery is still a working prototype and we are working on it. However, the essence of the technology comes in E.V.s.” Yet, the challenges related to belief have been real, both from the side of investors as well as consumers. Because both investors and consumers have a hard time placing their faith, that something of such potential can be developed and manufactured in India. Life at Log9 © Mensxp Log 9 Materials is a team of 34 people from engineering backgrounds, and they have scientists as well as marketing wizards. The company seeks people from the said background because regardless of what they do, they need to have technical competency. The average of the team is around 26 and most of them come from materials, chemical or nanotechnological background. These committed and ambitious people have come on board to innovate and build something that would impact the world. © Mensxp Akshay and Kartik want aspiring entrepreneurs to take that leap of faith, if they have faith in their own ideas and know that it will work. As for Akshay he says, “if you really want to do something, do it today rather than tomorrow. Also, hold your ground. Don't buy into or accept whatever is offered, but hold your ground and things will fall into place.”

3 Main Qualities Every Man Should Have To Be A Good Father

If you're already sealing your future right now, I am sure you've decided what you really want.  It's rather simple to foresee something but a tad difficult to live by the facts of it. What I mean is, if you're building your future, you obviously want financial security, a family, a good house and everything else that adult life needs for you to sustain and be happy all at once.  But apart from all that, there are a few things that need vital attention more than anything else. There are certain parameters you should cross while deciding a future and it's okay to delve into them from time to time. © Twitter If having kids is on your agenda, then you already know how many you'd like to have and what kind of value system you'd instil within them. But the most crucial thing to think about is what kind of a father will you be. Being a father is the most important role you can ever don and if you're certain of being a father and raising good kids, then you have to be sure about the qualities you possess to make you someone your kids look up to. Here are 3 main qualities every man should have to be a good father: (1) He Is Protective While the sense of protection for the next of kin is innate, it's a quality not all men possess. Being protective is, of course, inherited with the association you have with people. Most men are very protective of their friends, especially women friends. Not because they like them but because they treat them as someone they need to protect.  It's not just women but he takes care of everyone he is close to and that is one quality that transcends and reflects in his association with his kids. He will always set boundaries for them and protect them from anything and everything. © Pintrest (2) He Is Trustworthy That may sound ambiguous but most men, you can trust with your eyes closed, make for good fathers. That's because he will never turn his back on anyone, especially family, when in time of need. If you're the kind of guy who has stuck through the toughest times and been there for your friends and family, then be assured you'll do the same with your future family too. © Pintrest (3) He Is Patient & Encouraging If you've always been a source of encouragement for your friends and family, at any given point in time, you're definitely going to do the same for your kids too. Be it a football match or a test of some form, you'll always be there encouraging them and that's what children need the most.  Apart from encouragement, children also need a lot of patience. There are very few men who're good listeners and are patient at the same time. If you spend time listening to someone's problems and give them advice patiently, you're already on your way to becoming a good dad. © Pintrest Apart from these three qualities, of course, men have to be sensitive enough to perceive a child's mind and also take steps to become an affluent teacher in their lives. So, if you're looking to become a good father, start fostering these qualities and try them out on your friends and family, because only if you have them now, you'll be able to impart them to your children in the future.

Dinesh Karthik Scored 29 In Just 8 Balls To Win Nidahas Trophy Vs Bangladesh On This Day In 2018

In what was considered to be one of the most controversial tri-series of 2018, the Nidahas Trophy between India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka saw a rare show of skills, patience and explosive batting when Indian wicket keeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik took control of the final, deflated the Bangladeshi bowling line-up and won the trophy for the Men in Blue exactly one year ago, today. Returning to the top roster after a long gap, the tri-series was more of a test for the then 32-year-old, a question of whether he's still got what it takes to be a part of the best cricket team in the world.  While India managed to make it to the final of the series without requiring a lot of help from the righty, skipper Rohit Sharma (https://www.mensxp.com/topic/rohit-sharma.html) and the squad demanded a miracle of an innings by him to be able to win it all, late in the game.  When Karthik entered the field after Manish Pandey's dismissal, India required to score 34 runs off the last two overs. The need for Karthik to hit big shots was of utmost importance as his co-batsman Vijay Shankar was struggling to connect the deliveries with his bat.  Karthik, however, had different plans altogether. Stepping on the batting crease in the 19th over, he scored 22 runs off Rubel Hossain's deliveries while also sending the last ball for a maximum to bring the trophy to India.  "Really happy to come out of this performance. Really happy for the team. We've played really well in this tournament and to not win the final would have been unfortunate. It was not that easy to bat there,” said a modest Dinesh Karthik after the game who was also named the Man of the Match for his short yet impactful innings.

MP Minister Wants To Make State Roads 'Chakachak Like Hema Malini's Cheeks'

There's a lot of things you can compare roads with, but honestly, I never thought 'cheeks' would be one of them. But, Madhya Pradesh minister PC Sharma is getting a little creative - and a lot creepy - while talking about the road repairs in the state. Basically, he said the roads in Bhopal would soon be 'chakachak, just like Hema Malini's cheeks'. Yep, this is real. You know what he thinks the roads look like right now? Apparently, the roads have spots similar to small-pox, like "(BJP general secretary) Kailash Vijayvargiya's cheeks". © Twitter What is his obsession with 'cheeks'? And, I wouldn't want to be Kailash Vijayvargiya right now, tbh. While talking to reporters yesterday, he said, "Under the leadership of Public Works minister Sajjan Vermaji and directives of chief minister Kamal Nathji, the roads would be repaired in 15 days. They will be made 'Chakachak', like Hema Malini's cheeks in 15 to 20 days." Obviously, the 'cheeky' comment is a little unsettling and it would've been weird if it wasn't called out. But, people didn't disappoint, of course. Yep, for sure. As Hema Malini turns 71 today, her cheeks are still figuring in day's headline with politicians considering them as standard parameter for good roads

A Festival In Nepal Celebrates Dogs By Worshipping Them & Maybe We Could Learn A Thing Or Two

While some of us do whatever we can to save street dogs, Nepal goes a step further and celebrates them though a festival. Yes, that's right! A five day festival called 'Kukoor Tihar' (festival of dogs) has begun this week and our Diwali, also Sunday, marked the second day of the festival. The entire festival is dedicated to dogs and honouring their presence and I think it's time we learn a thing or two from the Nepalese. (BCCL) India is quite apathetic towards animals in general and we don't have the empathy required to give our street animals or even our wildlife a second thought. Case in point, Diwali this year, where after the government made it mandatory to not burst crackers before 8pm and after 10pm, numerous people still indulged in it, risking the safety of street dogs around them. Apart from the harmful effects fireworks bring to the environment, they're also both physically and psychologically detrimental towards animals, especially street dogs who live on roads. But people didn't care much about their presence and after incessant fireworks on Diwali night, many dogs were left shivering out of fear. (c)Nepal Travel Adventure Nepal, on the other hand, celebrate their dogs in a wholesome way. In fact, they worship their dogs during the Tihar festival, while garlanding them, putting a tikka on them and giving them food. For the Nepalese, dogs are sacrosanct because of religious purposes. They happen to believe dogs are messengers of Yamraj (the God of death) and the ceremony conducted for the dogs is an attempt to appease the God. Both street dogs and pets become a part of the festival and have an entire week dedicated to them. Here's a glimpse from the festival: Kayle, bcause calling him 'kaley' could be racist!? He's the grandson of kuchu & still lives with us. Has his bih living with us too, Sweety. She might be due in few months. His mom aka Kuchu's daughter 'Motie' went poila after giving birth to Kayle.... he balls nmw.#kukurtihar pic.twitter.com/Aju3A3JEQq — pukay (@pukusubedy) October 27, 2019 Acknowledging all the joy she gives in our life â¤ï¸#kukurtihar #humanbestfriend pic.twitter.com/NIxai3lvqG — Priyanka Budhathoki (@bpriyanka111) October 27, 2019 Kukur Tihar is tommorow. I wish you great health and long life. #KukurTihar #missingHome pic.twitter.com/p3XAPyiC1j — Darshana Gurungð³ðµ (@Darshnagr8) October 27, 2019 While worshipping cows is big in India, an attempt to treat all animals equally is fairly important. Even though cows are worshipped and cared for religious and economical purposes, we should develop a sense of empathy towards the four legged and give them equal respect and admiration. Nepal is a good example of the same and maybe we can learn how to be more empathetic towards animals from them.

Michigan Family Has Been Preserving A Fruitcake Since 1878 & We Wonder If It Aged Like Fine Wine

People expect jewellery, cash, exquisite artefacts or in some cases wisdom to be passed down from one generation to the other as part of their family heirloom. But, a family in Michigan have been passing down a fruitcake as their family heirloom. In case, you're wondering if it's a recipe to that fruitcake, you're wrong. It's a Christmas fruitcake that was baked in 1878 by Fidelia Ford.  How is the family preserving the cake since the past 141 years is a question that intrigues and haunts us at the same time. via GIPHY Fidelia baked the cake as part of her tradition and let it age a year before serving it to a family member. However, she died at the age of 65 and couldn't see her family eat the cake she baked for them. Reportedly, the cake got passed down as a family heirloom with Fidelia's great-grandson Morgan Ford being the custodian of that cake for 93 years.  In 2013, Morgan breathed his last and his daughter Julie Ruttinger took over as the custodian. According to reports, she said that her father "took a lot of pride in it" and treasured the cake till his last breath and even flaunted it at church and several family gatherings. While that's an emotional story, people on the internet weren't quite moved after hearing that story. In fact, they were really grossed out and minced no words in expressing the same on social media.  The infinite fruitcake is infinite. ð — jodi (@jodster112) December 14, 2019 Please send a piece to my ex wife to see if it's still good. — Jim Kilgus (@KilgusJim) December 14, 2019 pic.twitter.com/ojR62dC9IQ — âð¦ðð âð£ð  ðððð (@MimiLeroch) December 14, 2019 I thought our 140 year old family pickle was gross. — Matthew “Surefire” Cohen (@gudslide) December 14, 2019 test that for DNA — Nate Harger (@NateHarger) December 14, 2019 Great. 14 Indian Designers Who Redefined Menswear & Our Relationship With Fashion Over The Decade

Indian men have had a rather precarious and arduous relationship with fashion for a long time. We have been conditioned in such a way that putting an effort in how one looks and how one dresses up is a leisure activity that is largely effeminate, and therefore not something that 'proper' and 'good' men indulge in. Man, were we wrong! © iStock As a result of this conditioning, menswear has had the basic same aesthetics and palettes to go by. Anything that deviated from those set principles was an aberration and was not for the mainstream. © Instagram/ranveersingh A few brave men and women, however, thought otherwise, and have strived through the decade and changed how Indian men think of fashion, clothes, and dressing up. These men and women have also represented the modern Indian aesthetic in all its glory, on the global stage, and have shown the world, that apart from one of the leading textile hubs in the world, we are also a force to be reckoned with, when it comes to design and artistic sensibilities. © Manish Arora Manish Arora © Manish Arora Manish is best known for his unapologetic and unconventional designing cues, and an almost psychedelic sensibility. As someone who himself has called his designs, whimsical and kitschy, Manish Arora is a veteran fashion designer whose brave choices in colours and silhouettes have made us reconsider those boring checks and monochrome shirts. © Manish Arora Ujjawal Dubey © Ujjawal Dubey Indian Ethnic menswear saw a huge resurgence in popularity, thanks partly to the way Ujjawal Dubey has reimagined silhouettes in menswear through his label Antar-Agni. The manner in which he has played around with shackets and kurtas have forced us to look beyond traditional kurtas and bandhgalas, when thinking of Indian Menswear. © Ujjawal Dubey Raghavendra Rathore © Raghavendra Rathore For people who can actually afford princely bandhgala suits and are into modernistic retellings of traditional Indian menswear, Raghavendra Rathore is the man to go to. Having dressed the who's who of Bollywood to some of the most revered people from the Royal families in India, Raghavendra Rathore's designs manage to tie in traditional Indian values with contemporary and modernistic aesthetics. © Instagram/raghavendra.rathore Amit Aggarwal © Amit Aggarwal The idea that Indian men could not pull off unusual and offbeat textiles is one that has pervaded our zeitgeist forever. Thanks to Amit Aggarwal, and his experiments with textiles and silhouettes, the world now watches Indian designers closely, and in fact, draws inspiration. Imagine a suit that looks like it was made from the bark of a tree, but is actually made of upcycled and repurposed industrial waste. That's Amit Aggarwal for you. © Instagram/theanisha Gaurav Gupta © Instagram/gauravguptaofficial Another designer who has made a name for himself using rather kitschy and whimsical creations, Gaurav Gupta and his creations have brought eccentricity to the mainstream. His oeuvre is a perfect example why modern Indian aesthetic sensibility cannot be contained in a structure, and how, adding bling to classic silhouettes is a rather zany way of uplifting an ensemble. © Instagram/gauravguptaofficial Shantanu & Nikhil © Instagram/shantanunikhil Shantanu Mehra & Nikhil Mehra are two brothers who have kept traditional Indian menswear alive by staying true to the classics. During a phase when Indian designers were reinventing the wheel in a bid to define themselves, the two siblings stuck to classical themes and motifs. That being said, their fairly modernist way of implementing those motifs is what sets them apart. © Instagram/shantanunikhil Suket Dhir © Instagram/suket.dhir Suket Dhir is one designer whose creations have the genuine ability to leave people awestruck, simply because of how they are structured and layered with nuance. Using only natural fibres, creating universal silhouettes that are essentially the Indian interpretations of bohemian aesthetics, Suket Dhir is one designer who has managed to combine Indian motifs, with universal silhouettes and designs. © Instagram/suket.dhir Sabyasachi Mukherjee © Instagram/sabyasachiofficial An Indian designer who has managed to become one of the most prominent faces of Indian ethnic wear on a global stage, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has become the quintessential master craftsman for Indian wedding trousseaus. That being said, his creations for men are equally bewitching. To really get an idea of how impactful and vogue his designs are, consider this - he is one of the most plagiarised designers in the world, with several notable fashion labels blatantly ripping off his designs, time and again. On a global scale, having collaborated with names like Christian Louboutin, and The Victoria and Albert Museum, Sabyasachi is representing India on a stage very few ever manage to get to. © Instagram/sabyasachiofficial Rohit Bal © Instagram/rohitbalofficial For over three decades, Rohit Bal has been the poster boy of Indian fashion for the world. As someone who has dressed the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford and Pamela Anderson over the years, Rohit represents the Indian sartorial sensibility on the global stage with an authoritative panache. Given the wide spectrum from which he draws his inspiration, the workmanship on his creations is sublime, which, when combined with the universal silhouettes that he uses as a base, he is a figure that this list simply could not afford to miss. © Instagram/rohitbalofficial Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla © Viral Bhayani Over the years, the designer duo of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have given us some really blissful, and memorable pieces. With their ethnic menswear range, they have managed to combine traditional aesthetics with modern design, whereas their western wear beautifully infuses local and artisanal craftsmanship and India's textile heritage with European silhouettes. © Instagram/abujanisandeepkhosla Kanika Goyal © Instagram/goyalkanika As someone who has been featured in Forbes' 30 under 30, Kanika Goyal has pioneered Indian streetwear in a fashion which will go on to defining an epoch. That being said, his collections of menswear are a masterpiece if one is to consider the heritage of Indian sartorial traditions. His pieces strike a perfect balance between opulence and chic. Intricately detailed, and layered with nuance, his creations can be seen as the bridge between the various aesthetic sensibilities that we have had over the years. © Instagram/taruntahiliani Gaurav Khanijo © MensXP As paradoxical it may seem, Gaurav Khanijo's sartorial creations manage to imbibe the vintage, classic as well as the modern - in essence, the neo-indigenous aesthetic that the Indian fashion seemingly can't get enough of. Gaurav's creations have a life and an attitude of their own, with a very fluid, and yet, nuanced and layered structure. Each of the three lines of menswear that his label, Khanijo, deals in, is quintessentially how Indian men have been dressing up, just reimagined and restructured in far better silhouettes and sensibilities. © Instagram/khanijo Dhruv Vaish © Viral Bhayani From the younger crop of Indian designers who enjoy a massive following and popularity with the pallbearers of Indian fashion, and Indian celebrities, Dhruv Vaish has had a massive impact considering the comparatively short period of time he has been on the scene. Be it his deconstruction of traditional silhouettes, Indian or otherwise, or his interpretation of classical silhouettes, his designs are global in every sense of the word. © Instagram/dhruvvaish

But, if, there was one more award that he took home along with this tag, it has to be for his outstanding contemporary ensemble. For someone, who likes to knock it out of the park in an ethnic outfit, Ayushmann's wrap blazer was rather unconventional and the half blazer and half achkan outfit is certainly the best formal ethnic look we have seen lately. Janhvi Kapoor Talks About How She Deals With Social Media Trolls And It's Something We All Can Learn From

With the success of Ghost Stories and a couple of more ambitious projects in her bag, Janhvi Kapoor is currently on cloud nine as she officially entered the '2020 will be my year' club. She maybe only two projects old, but she's already proved that she's here for the long run. Recently, the Dhadak actress graced the cover of iDiva and had what can be called an honest conversation about herself, her stardom, people's expectations from her, her strategy of dealing with social media trolls and her idea of an ideal man. While the rumours of Ishaan and Janhvi float on social media once in a while, Janhvi just revealed who her ideal man is. When asked about who she will kill, marry and date; she conveniently dodged the options of 'kill' and 'date' but she did reveal who she wants to marry. I think I would be happy if I married him. He's super cute and I also think he has a great sense of humour which is very important." Take notes, guys, take notes!   Every time people talk about star kids, they assume that things are pretty easy for them, they don't have to work that hard to stick around in the industry. Well, that maybe true but so is the fact that they sometimes have to work extra hard to prove that they can survive even without their family name. Janhvi said, "I think of it as a responsibility. My family, my mom in particular, got so much love and appreciation from the audience. As a consequence, I have also got some of that love. I now have to work doubly hard to prove that I deserve it, on my own, also." She further said that she's not vying for stardom, she's here to do good work. While she has yet to learn a lot about movies, she's cracked one thing - dealing with social media trolls which is not everyone's cup of tea. Janhvi has been a constant target for trolls on social media, who seem to be always looking for reasons to take a dig at her. He pro-tip: she doesn't care. View this post on Instagram Ghost Stories ð» now on Netflix! A post shared by Janhvi Kapoor (@janhvikapoor) on Jan 1, 2020 at 2:00am PST "You have to be brave to put yourself out there. In the beginning it was really weird, but I have gotten used to the social media hate. I am just trying to be as authentic as possible," said Janhvi who has 7.1 million followers on Instagram. She further added, "I don't care if you think I am wearing too much makeup, even though I am not. If you think my gym shorts are too short, then you probably don't sweat on your legs as much as I do. I am sorry, my sweat glands work like that. You probably don't work out as much as I do." On the work front, she is currently working on Takht, Dostana 2 and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Here's Every Single Foldable Gadget That Was Announced At CES This Year

Foldable gadgets made their debut last year when Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Fold. Since then, we have seen various new folding devices such as the new Motorola Razr. However, it is CES (Consumer Electronics Show) time and new products are being announced with new innovations.  Folding devices are big at CES this year, as a number of devices were announced that includes phones and laptops. This means that folding screens is just not a concept anymore as we are seeing multiple companies flirting with this new technology.  We've compiled a list of every foldable device that was showcased at CES this year and when you might be able to get your hands on it: 1. Dell Ori © BCCL While we may have been distracted by Dell's new Alienware UFO portable gaming PC that resembles a Nintendo Switch; the company also announced a foldable device. It is a big screen that folds at the centre and can be used in various ways. When using it as a laptop, the bottom screen transforms into a touch-screen keyboard.  It looks very similar to the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold and works like a stylus-enabled tablet PC. The Dell Ori is still a concept at the moment and the company has not made it clear when it will be available for purchase.  2. TCL Folding Phone © TCL Samsung, Huawei and Motorola may have already shown off their folding smartphones but TCL has also shown off its foldable phone concept. This year, the Chinese company showcased a clamshell folding phone that has four back cameras and one large 7.1-inch display. From the picture, we can notice a crease that is a prevalent problem with folding screens at the moment. However, it is exciting to see a company apart from the usual big tech organisations innovating with their products.  3. Intel Horshoe Bend  © Intel We aren't entirely too sure you know the name, however, the Intel Horshoe Bend could be another product you might be interested in. It has a 17.3-inch display when folded and is powered by Intel's upcoming Tiger Lake processors. You can check out the full video by Intel to know more about the Horshoe Bend.  4. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold © Intel Most of the foldable devices mentioned above are still in the concept stage, however, Lenovo announced a foldable device that will be available to buy later this year. The folding display has no noticeable crease, comes with a 13.3-inch 2K pOLED display, touch-screen keyboard, physical keyboard, 11-hour battery life and a price tag of $2,500.  If you want to know more about the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, you can read about it here.

New Trailer For 'Birds Of Prey' Is Here & People Have Turned Into DC Stans

Birds of Prey is less than a month away and even before its release, people are turning into proper DC stans, thanks to the latest trailer. Well, Margot Robbie aka Harley Quinn does have that power, for sure. The new trailer dropped today and it's as colourful and crazy as you would expect it to be. It starts off with our poor lil Harley getting over her breakup with Joker. You should do whatever you want to cope, cry, eat cheese while crying, blow up your ex-boyfriend, it's called self-care. But, after that, she realizes that there are plenty of supervillains who want her dead, of course, and that includes Ewan McGregor's Roman Sionis, a mafia don known as Black Mask. What else is left other than to make a (suicide) squad? She teams up with four other women who are on Black Mask's hit list to take him down: Gotham City cop Renee Montoya, pickpocketing runaway Cassandra Cain, the vigilante the Huntress, and supernaturally screaming lounge singer Black Canary. The best part is obviously at the end when it's revealed that she has a pet hyena named Bruce. I mean, of course Harley Quinn will have a hyena named Bruce. Here's the trailer: The trailer has obviously got everyone very excited for the movie and going by the response, it looks like there'll be a lot of new DC fans after this. It looks great! Amazon To Step-Up Its Delivery Game By Using Fully Electric Rickshaws In India

Looks like Jeff Bezos' three-day visit to India was a successful ride. He attended a company event where he announced that Amazon will make an investment of $1 billion into India to digitize enterprises. Amazon also confirmed that it'll open up as many as a million job opportunities in the country, which is always a good thing.  Now, Bezos has also confirmed that the company will start using fully electric delivery rickshaws in the country. That's right, you'll soon start seeing your Amazon packages getting delivered in fully electronic rickshaws, which is just as cool as it sounds.  Hey, India. Weâre rolling out our new fleet of electric delivery rickshaws. Fully electric. Zero carbon. #ClimatePledge pic.twitter.com/qFXdZOsY4y â Jeff Bezos (@JeffBezos) January 20, 2020 Bezos confirmed the same by sending out a tweet earlier on Monday morning. The tweet is accompanied by a video in which you can see Bezos himself riding one of the delivery rickshaws. Amazon is rolling out a fleet (100,000) of these rickshaws in the country as a part of their climate pledge. In his tweet, Bezos wrote that these rickshaws will be fully electric and have zero carbon emissions. © Reuters For those of you who don't know, Amazon has been trying to cut emissions for quite some time now. Although they're not too far ahead in that race against other companies, but they're still putting the best efforts. After all, we're talking about a company that's delivering 10 billion items a year globally, so it's not going to be an easy feat.
Amazon has pledged to use 100 percent clean energy by 2030, so we'll see how things go. These electric delivery rickshaws will definitely help though.

The HP Spectre x360 Is One Of The Best 2-In-1 Laptops We've Used So Far & Here's Our Review

HP has been making some of the most incredible laptops lately and their new Spectre x360 is one of those notebooks that was designed to impress. The Spectre line up, for those of you who don't know, has a lot of premium notebooks and they're known for their performance and sleek design. HP recently updated its Spectre x360 for 2019 and it's arguably one of the best two-in-one notebooks we've used so far. Well, I've been using the new 2019 HP Spectre x360 for quite some time now, and here's my full review. 1. Design and Build Quality © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP When it comes to the design of the Spectre x360, there's hardly anything to complain about. It's by far the most beautiful laptop I've ever used and I am coming from the Alienware m15 R2, which I touted to be amongst the most beautiful gaming laptops. It has a top-notch build quality and it screams premium from any and all angles you look at it from. I specifically like how the top left and right corners of the notebook are diagonal. There's a power button on the side whereas there's an additional USB Type-C port on the other, which I mostly use for charging. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP Since this is a two-in-one notebook, it's furnished with a 360-degree hinge. You can rotate the screen and transform it into a tablet-like device or set it up in tent mode, which is great for watching media. Quite frankly, I wasn't expecting to use the X360 in the tablet mode, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't. In fact, using the x360 in the tablet mode is what I found myself doing the most. The touchscreen experience was great, at least better than forcing myself to touch the screen while using it in the normal mode. And since it's so lightweight (under 1.5Kg), it was super easy for me to carry it around. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP If you are looking for a premium laptop with the exceptional build quality, then I'd say look no further. The HP Spectre x360 is one of the most attractive laptops out there and the fact that it's so portable, makes it an easy sell. It simply looks astounding. 2. Display The variant which I got to review came with a 13.3-inch 4K AMOLED panel. All the HP Spectre x360 panels measure 13.3-inch and they all support multi-touch in order to be used in the tablet mode. Though the touch screen works without any issues with fingers, HP is giving a stylus at no extra cost with every purchase of the Spectre x360. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP That's great because it comes in handy at times and buying one can usually be quite expensive. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla glass, so you don't have to worry about any scratches or damages even while using it in the tablet mode. Regardless of the mode that I was using it in, the display was fantastic. And it's an AMOLED panel, it had deep blacks and punchy colours, which is how I like the displays. Watching Netflix, or simply browsing through different web pages looked great on this notebook. And it's a 4k panel, so everything was nice and crispy too. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP It's also on-point when it comes to brightness and colour accuracy. The 4k model isn't available in all the market, but if it's available where you live and if your budget allows for it, then I'd say just go for this one. It's so worth the extra money. 3. Keyboard and Trackpad The HP Spectre has a chiclet-style keyboard with well-spaced keys and decent travel. As a writer, I completely enjoyed using the keyboard to churn out articles. I can always appreciate hefty clicks and satisfying responses, and that's exactly what I got from the Spectre. It's an attractive keyboard with a large and easy-to-read font. The keys also have two levels of backlighting, so you won't have any issues using it at night. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP As for the trackpad, well, I'd say it's pretty decent. I would've preferred a slightly larger trackpad, but given the fact that the Spectre x360 itself has a pretty small form factor, there's not much room to complain. But other than that, I think the trackpad is pretty solid. It has Windows Precision Drivers and it had absolutely no trouble keeping up with my rapid movements. Also, since the Spectre x360 has a touch panel, I found myself using it more often than using the trackpad itself for things like selecting an item, copy and paste, etc. There's also a fingerprint scanner on the keyboard deck to let you get in using Windows Hello. 4. Ports © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP The HP Spectre x360 won't satisfy your hunger for ports, but I promise that it won't leave you hanging in search of a dongle. On the left side, you get a drop-down USB A port along with a headphone jack. On the right, you get two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a microSD card slot and a switch to kill the webcam. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP Yeah, it doesn't have too many ports, but I think it's just enough to keep you going. I just wish one of the thunderbolt 3 ports was on the other side of the laptop, so I could charge it from either side. But that's just me and it's nothing to worry about. 5. Audio © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP The Spectre x360's speakers are below the chassis, which is probably the worst place to put a speaker. There are no two ways about it. I mean, they're still good enough to fill a medium-sized room but imagine but there's still something missing. The speakers are tuned by Bang and Olufsen, but that doesn't really make up for the poor placement. It sounds nice and crispy, but don't expect anything that would make you want to get and dance. 6. Performance The variant which I reviewed was equipped with a 10th gen Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM. During my usage, I'd say the laptop managed to hold up pretty well for my everyday use. I didn't encounter any snags while using it, which is always a good sign. This isn't a gaming laptop, so I obviously didn't use it to check off a couple of Fortnite matches. But it managed to handle a stress test by loading about 15 odd Google Chrome tabs, out of which many of them were playing videos. © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP The new 10nm chipset gives the Spectre x360 upgraded Iris Plus graphics. It managed to score well over 18,000 on Geekbench test surpassing some other competing laptops in this space. Honestly, I won't be surprised if you managed to load Fortnite and get a couple of "Victory Royale" as long as you're not cranking up the graphics. Overall, I'd say the HP Spectre x360 is a powerful machine that can take care of all your day-to-day tasks without any issues. The added versatility of having a touch panel and stylus makes it very useful in many scenarios. This is the kind of laptop that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a portable and powerful notebook for college or work. 7. Battery Life I am usually very sceptical about the battery life when it comes to super portable machines like this, but the HP Spectre x360 was beyond surprising. I was constantly getting around 10 to 11 hours of battery life with my workload on a daily basis and that's quite impressive. In fact, I never bothered carrying the charger to work with me knowing that I have enough juice to push through a regular day. It's that good. Obviously, it'll depend on the kind of work you're doing too, but I'd say it'll still give impressive battery performance. 8. The Final Say © Karthik Iyer/ MensXP So, the HP Spectre x360 starts at Rs. 1,24,990 in India. The variant which I got to review will cost you Rs. 1,74,990, which is a lot of money. However, I think the HP Spectre x360 is definitely worth it. Yes, there are a lot of other 2-in-1's in the market, but I doubt if any of them are nearly as premium as the Spectre x360. And the fact that it's fitted with the latest and the greatest hardware, makes it a really compelling option. A beautiful design, compact form factor, slim bezels around the display, and stellar battery life. Honestly, if it wasn't for the poorly placed speakers on this laptop, I would've given it a perfect score. If you're looking for an ultraportable laptop for your day-to-day work with great build quality and impressive performance, then I'd say just get the HP Spectre x360. You won't be disappointed with your purchase.

12 Precious Gifts For The Women In Your Life That Theyll Never Thank You Enough For

Women. Love. Presents.  These three words are like the holy grail to any relationship that involves women. And while you don’t really need a reason at all to present the women in your life with gifts, Diwali seems like a legit, non-made-up reason to splurge on the gifts, right? So, make a note of the following items because chances are the women in your life—mother, sister, girlfriend and friend—are going to want at least one, if not all, of these! Take it in writing if you want! 1. Handbag Accessory by Fendi  © Fendi Women love expensive shit anyway. She’s literally looking to find a reason that you can spend all your money on her. And while a diamond ring doesn’t always cut it (thank God for that), this comes pretty close to a second.  Price: On request  2. Footwear by Needledust  © Needledust You know the fairytale about Cinderella? Secretly we’re all hoping for that. No, we’re not kidding. Needledust is a fairly new ethnic footwear brand that gives a modern twist to jootis. The designs and styles aren’t the usual ones you’d get at a flee market and that’s why we want the men in our lives to try.  Price: INR 2700  3. Décor Items by Good Earth  © Good Earth Women also love scented candles, porcelain cutlery with intricate designs in pastels and feminine hues (bet you knew that one already). This Bone-Chilling Account Of A Man Who Witnessed The Attack On The Woman At MG Road Will Leave You Deeply Disturbed

DISCLAIMER: The eye-witness is an anonymous source who was present at the time of incident and has requested to keep his identity undisclosed. Be warned: These aren’t for the weak-hearted and will leave you feeling very disturbed. It was a bloody Monday this week when a 34-year-old woman was mercilessly stabbed to death by an auto-rickshaw driver who had allegedly been stalking her for the past few months, according to the victim’s family. And while it’s almost as if human life and free will, as concepts, don’t exist in our world, it’s also remarkable of how, to most people, every mishap is nothing but a spectacle. What else could you describe the incident—where crowds of people getting in and out of the metro trains just stood by and looked as 25-year-old Jitender stabbed the woman—as? What’s it like to be witness to a murder that’s being committed not just in front of your eyes; but, in front of the eyes and ears of thousands of people, at a public place, within the vicinity of the law enforcement officials? Do you speak up for savior, or do you stay quiet?  Abhishek (name changed)* was one of the individuals among the crowd that saw the gruesome events unfold right in front of their eyes. And this is his account of the incident that went down at the MG Road Metro Station, at 10 am on Monday morning.  “The metro stopped, as usual and some of us got out. Suddenly one of the boys ran ahead and snatched a woman’s hair from behind. Then, with a knife that he had been hiding away all the while, he slit her throat. The woman fell to the ground, immediately. But, that never stopped the boy. In fact, he began stabbing her all over her body. He did not stop! He stabbed her more than 20 times; I saw with my own eyes and I could not get over it.  A crowd did began to collect and some people did shout to ask the boy to stop but it was as if he didn’t hear a thing! I tried to step ahead and help the woman, or at least stop the attacker, but he began to threaten me; to cut my throat as well, if I were to do anything. Ll the while we shouted for the police to come; but no one turned up. It had been peak hours at the metro station and most of the police had been stationed at the entries and exits to monitor the crowds and the checking. No one even heard us shouting for help. Itna awaaz lagaya humne. Phir ja ke ek banda aaya tha CISF se. Lekin woh bhi sirf khara ho ke dekhta raha. The attacker only finally stopped when the knife fell from his hand. That’s when the people around gathered and began hitting him. They then carried the unconscious woman and took her to the police van.  The woman had still been alive till then. The police never turned up at all, during the entire incident. Only one official from CISF came to the scene but it was of no avail!”  He was so disturbed by the incident that had taken place that day that he did not go to work for an entire day. When I tried reaching out to him, for the longest time, Abhishek did not want to talk about the incident; busying and burying himself behind his laptop and work.  What Abhishek did manage to do was photograph the attacker after the crowds had thrashed him. The visuals are shown below.

Science Has Confirmed What We Already Know: Rich People Dont Care About Anybody Else

If you have ever believed that the wealthier people are, the more ignorant they become of other people’s pain, then science is going to back you up. Of course, not every one is a Warren Buffet or a Bill Gates who actually feel the pain of the poor and believe in helping the world. A recent study that was published in the Psychological Science journal at New York University shows that wealthy people pay very less attention to people who are poor in comparison to them. Like we don’t know it already! The researchers did a lot of experiments and all the results proved their theory. One of the pivotal reasons that explained the reasoning behind this behaviour is that rich people afford to have others work for them and fulfil their needs and this strong financial stability makes them invest in interpersonal relationships lesser than their less wealthy counterparts. Having strong interpersonal relationships is the ideal key to human happiness, as explained in a Harvard study. Wealthy people end up in major bouts of loneliness but it doesn’t seem to bother them at this stage.  Well, money cannot buy happiness but it easy to cry in a BMW, rather than crying on a bicycle, or that’s what the rich seem to believe.

Kodak Just Introduced A New Smartphone And Its Every Photographers Dream Come True

The last time Kodak was relevant, many of us were still in school. But, they've emerged from the ashes, and while photography is still their main focus, they've also announced a new smartphone called the Ektra. For those who don't remember, Kodak had released a camera called Ektra back in 1941. Even though it didn't do too well, some of the features on that camera were way ahead of their time. © Facebook/Kodak Back to the present, the current Ektra smartphone comes with a 21-megapixel fast-focus camera on the back and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. If that isn't enough to excite you, it also comes with an SLR-style dial which lets you choose from a number of settings including high-speed, HDR, macro, panorama, bokeh, and night-mode. It also has a manual mode where you can adjust ISO, exposure, focus, shutter speed, and white balance.  Its ergonomic form and large lens makes it look somewhat like a point-and-shoot. It even has a dedicated dual-press shutter button. The smartphone also comes with a pre-loaded app called Print which lets you place orders for physical copies of photographs you have taken. There are a number of phot-editing apps on this high-end smartphone too including Adobe Lightroom, Snapseed, and Prisma. We don't have too much information on the availability for this smartphone right now, but from what we gather, it is only going to be available in select European markets. It has been priced at £449/€499 and will be available in December.
