Virat Kohli Overtakes 'Struggling' Steve Smith, Roars Back To No. 1 Spot In ICC Test Rankings

The world of cricket has witnessed the excellence of numerous batsmen over the years. But, in the modern era of the sport, the batting charts have been thoroughly dominated by four batsmen - Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root. Labelled as the 'Big Four' of modern-day batting, the quartet has appeared to be in a class of their own. Such has been the level of competition between these four batsmen that it's almost hard to pick who's the best. But, if statistics are anything to go by, the likes of Smith and Kohli, especially in the past couple of years, have clearly left Williamson and Root behind. From scoring centuries at will, dominating ICC rankings to shattering old records, Smith and Kohli have carved their own niche in international cricket, making others look mediocre. Their consistency with the willow has not only left the pundits in disbelief, but also the fans who are truly relishing the contest between Smith and Kohli. Their batting masterclass has changed the way we perceive the gentleman's game and every time someone poses a query over the best batsman around, the answer is either Kohli or Smith. © Reuters While it is still hard to pick between the two, there is little doubt over Smith's excellence, especially in the longest version of the game, Returning to the playing field after a year-long suspension earlier this year, Smith silenced the naysayers and probably all his detractors who felt that he may have lost his touch. Hitting his lowest ebb in years, Australian cricket's darling marked a sensational return and won back his fans after clobbering 774 runs, including two hundreds, a double ton and three fifties, in the Ashes series earlier this year. His brilliant outing also propelled him to the top spot in ICC rankings for batsmen in Test cricket. But, for someone who truly made the longest format his own little playground, Smith couldn't replicate his success during the recently-concluded Test series against Pakistan. The first Test at the Gabba saw the right-hander falling prey to Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah for a mere four runs in the first innings and a brilliant bowling display by Australia denied him an opportunity to bat in the second. © Reuters In the second Test, where his teammates David Warner (335*) and Marnus Labuschagne (162) looked at their menacing best in the first innings, Smith could only manage to score 36 runs before being dismissed by Pakistani seamer Shaheeh Afridi. With Australia offering a follow-on to Pakistan, Smith was once again denied an opportunity to make amends for his mediocre batting display in the second innings. With just 40 runs to his name in the two-match series, Smith didn't just miss out on carrying his fine form, but also lost the no.1 spot in the ICC rankings for batsmen in Test cricket. Smith's loss has proved to be Kohli's gain as the Australian's nemesis has reclaimed his old spot that he had lost earlier this year. Virat Kohli back to No.1!

David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne and Joe Root make significant gains in the latest @MRFWorldwide ICC Test Rankings for batting.

Full rankings: https://t.co/AIR0KN4yY5 pic.twitter.com/AXBx6UIQkL — ICC (@ICC) December 4, 2019 The Indian captain, who has 7202 runs and 27 hundreds from 84 Tests, currently occupies the top spot with 928 points to his name. He is followed by Smith, who dropped points owing to his recent struggles in Brisbane and Adelaide, with 923 points. The list also includes New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, at the third spot, whose 51 points adrift at the top.  Kohli might have reclaimed the top spot, but the fact that he will not play any more Test matches in 2019, makes him prone to getting dethroned again. Unlike Kohli, Smith, despite losing his top spot to Kohli, will have a great opportunity to snatch the No. 1 spot back when he takes the field in the two Tests against New Zealand later this month. © Reuters While Kohli and Smith continue to upstage each other with their impeccable skills, the cricket fans should be blessed to witness their competitive edge which appears to bring out the best in two of the modern-day batting greats.

5 Key Things That Make The New Jaguar XE One Beast Of A Car For The Indian Roads

When Jaguar announced that they would be launching the XE back in February of 2016, the car had a lukewarm reception at best. People did buy the car and Indian petrolheads did come to fall in love with the car, but it was a painfully slow process. Nevertheless, what started out as something slow, soon evolved into something much more enflamed and impassioned. © Jaguar India Therefore, earlier this year, when Jaguar finally confirmed the insurmountable speculations and rumours that the XE would be getting a facelift this year, saying that we were glad, would be an understatement. Mind you though, it was not because we, or for that anyone else felt that the design and the aesthetic of the older cars were waning - ask anyone who adds salt to his food, and he will agree that the Jaguars of yesteryears, were a thing to behold.  © Jaguar India Heck, the impact that Jaguars have had in Indian pop culture and our automotive zeitgeist, revolves on the sedan. Remember the kid who drowned his brand new BMW because that was not the car he wanted? Well, take a guess which car was he actually pinning for. © Jaguar India All this being said, we just had to get our hands on the new Jaguar XE. And having driven it (the XE-SE, to be precise) in Mumbai, we have to say, that if a car can stand out in a city with as terrible roads and traffic as Mumbai, it can ride exceptionally well in pretty much any city in India © Jaguar India Here's what happens when a sports car, comes disguises as a saloon: 1. The Ride Quality © Jaguar India The word 'sublime' does not even begin to describe the ride quality that the new Jag offers. Thanks to its light aluminium chassis, double-wishbone front suspensions and integral linked rear suspensions, its almost as if you are floating down a cloud. We will go as far as to say you don't even feel any of the smaller potholes shattering your spine and skull. That being said, the steering wheel, in spite of being an Electronic Power Assisted Steering, lets you feel more or less everything that the tyres are going through at any given moment. Truly, the best of both worlds. 2. The Acceleration © Jaguar India The acceleration figures don't seem that impressive on paper. After all, what can you expect from a 4 cylinder, 2.0-litre engine? Turns out, a lot, actually. The boffins at Jaguar, have managed to crank out 247 BHP, and 365 Nm of torque from their top of the line petrol engine. That's a performance that you can easily access and actually enjoy on Indian roads. And might we add, that the 8-speed automatic transmission and the throttle are very, very responsive. And in spite of being a turbocharged engine, we, in our testing, couldn't detect a whiff of turbo lag. 3. Segment Defining Luxury © Jaguar India There's simply no mincing words with this one, with the Jaguar XE, you get one of the best interiors to sit in and drive from at this price point. Even though the XE will seat 5 people including the driver, the true joy that this car can offer comes only to the person who is sitting at the wheel. The interiors are designed specifically focusing on him. From the wrap-around dash to extended leather trimmings, the car oozes luxury and finesse. Furthermore, the car is loaded with tech to the brim. You get a highly customisable, driver's display, both Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and Panoramic sunroof as standard. Other things that come as standard are the Lane Keep Assist & the Driver's Condition Monitor. 4. Handling © Jaguar India In spite of its authoritative stance, the Jaguar XE handles like a dream. We did a slalom test in a reserved area and were thoroughly impressed at the manner in which it handles itself. This is where the aluminium chassis shines through and through. The brakes, the buffed up steering - everything exudes confidence. The car has been set up in such a way that no matter which one of the four driving modes you are in, you always have the confidence to throw the car into a corner, and come out of it, still grinning like a baby. 5. The Exciting New Design © Jaguar India Even at a glance, the new XE-SE manages to stand out when you compare it with its predecessor. It is far more aggressively designed, and has a longer and wider grill, has sleeker headlamps as well as taillamps, and is generously peppered with angled creases and lines. All of this results in a car that has a very commanding presence on the street. That's the mark of a classic Jaguar if you ask us. All things said and done, there are a few issues with the car. For example, the rear seating will, realistically speaking, be only able to accommodate 2 people. You wouldn't want to hire a chauffeur for this car. Also, the car, even at its highest specification, does not offer a V6 option.  And finally, Jaguar's electronics aren't exactly famed to be reliable. How will the ones in the new Jaguar XE hold up over time, is a question that we are not in a position to answer. © Jaguar India © Jaguar India Having said that, we have to factor in the fact, that at a starting price of Rs 44.98 Lacs, this Jag has a lot to offer than most of its rivals at the price point.  There are a number of first-in-the-segment features that you get with the new XE, but most importantly, what you get, is Jaguar's legacy. What you get, is the hardtop F-Pace, tailor-made for the Indian roads.

Saif Ali Khan Wore Vibrant Candy Shorts That We Think Are Best Suited For Grocery Shopping

When it comes to loungewear shorts, the wilder the pattern, the better the pair looks. While men tend to play it safe with mainstream colours like dark blue or a brown or even more predictable with a colour like black, there are people who are open to the exciting options that exist out there. Case in point, Saif Ali Khan.  © Viral Bhayani Recently, he stepped out with Taimur in the most exciting shorts we've seen in a while. These shorts had all sorts of candies and ice creams printed on it in vibrant colour tones. Saif Ali Khan looked like he was stepping out for grocery shopping, and honestly, we think this is probably the best grocery shopping outfit that we've seen in a while. © Viral Bhayani Besides, this is the sort of pattern that men should ideally dip their toes in, just like quirky socks, quirky patterns are a great choice for a casual Sunday stay-at-home-brunch outfit. This year has been great for Saif Ali Khan as Netflix original Sacred Games' second season came out. This was followed by his film Laal Kaptaan, wherein he plays the role of a Naga Sadhu. Besides, the trailer for his film Tanhaji came out, in which he plays the role of a warrior. Just like his outfits, clearly, Saif Ali Khan has been taking up diverse roles.

AAP MLA Takes 'Ask Me Anything' Requests, Gets Asked If AAP Will Legalise Cannabis

I don't know which social media you're currently addicted to, but if you're not on Reddit, better face it - you ain't really on the internet. Over the years, I've become somewhat of a 'power-user' of the website. Multiple accounts for various nefarious purposes, although one common link between all of them is one particular sub-forum (known as a subreddit or simply sub) - r/india. R/india, or Randia as it's commonly known, follows the same principles as most Indian online forums. Questions are raised, uproars are synthesised in response to the endless stream of unpleasant news stories Indian media broadcasts (mea culpa) and personal accounts of social issues. One such particular format that has been gaining traction in recent months are 'rants' - where frustrated Indians wax eloquent on lifetimes of frustration, stemming from overbearing parents, nosy neighbours, harassers and everything in between. Usually speaking, it's not a very cheerful place to be - although something interesting occurred a couple of days ago that took not just Randians by storm, but was unexpected even by the forum moderators. An actual politician reached out to r/India, requesting an 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) post. Well, something quite unusual.  The premise behind an AMA is simple - a person, usually someone famous or with insight into a particular field, verifies their identity and opens up a forum where anyone can anonymously post questions, vote on which questions they like, and discuss the answers. While it took a while for the moderators to confirm his identity, soon the floodgates were opened. Indians anonymously began to send in questions to Pankaj Pushkar - a representative of Timarpur Constituency in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, and a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. © Reddit Granted it's no Amit Shah, and after years of discussing politics anonymously, several redditors found themselves pleasantly surprised by this and began sending in questions en masse. The most popular question of all, somewhat unsurprisingly, involved the legalisation of cannabis. User rdndsouza also asked the MLA about his and his party's stances on LGBTQ+ rights. © Reddit/Notice user photoreceptic's reply, and how popular it is. Typical Randia. Another user by the name of ta12349 asked questions regarding Pushkar's party's political strategy. © Reddit/A pretty good set of questions here - particularly considering the current North Indian pollution crisis. Pushkar himself is an academician by career and as far as MLAs go, seems to represent the 'honesty and integrity' that he's repeatedly highlighted in this AMA. He even drew headlines when, back in 2015, he led a march to the residence of Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal - protesting against his own party on the grounds of dengue deaths and a lack of focus on caste issues. None of this is new to Reddit, of course. Both sides of the American political spectrum have held AMAs with Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders to varying degrees of success, and while Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has done an AMA himself, seeing this trend shift towards Indian politicians from parties across India - a traditionally out-of-touch lot, is unusual and hopefully a sign of greater access to the men and women behind the agendas that run our nation.  Coincidentally, Pushkar has, in some effect, addressed this in the past. Back during the 2015 incident, he mentioned how “the means to gain information has become almost impossible for the common man” and that "there are permanent barricades between the Ministers and the public."  That being said, Pushkar has been accused of avoiding several questions - particularly this highly-requested one pertaining to how politicians earn money. © Reddit If anything, we're hopeful that more politicians will take up this channel of communication. Several redditors asked the MLA to get his party leader on the platform. Let's see if that happens anytime soon.

Former Teammates AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn Meet Face To Face In A Hilarious Confrontation

South Africa's Mzansi Super League just entered the second half of the tournament and is turning out to be a lot more exciting than first thought of. Although, not as grand as the Indian Premier League (for obvious reasons) the SA tournament still has its charm.  One of the biggest reasons behind that charm is the mid-game banter and the friendly and relaxed attitude with which these games are being played, as compared to the international matches for the Proteas, especially, when it's not been the best of times for them.  During an MSL match between Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans, two of the best South African players of all time, Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers came face to face in a hilarious confrontation when the batsman smashed the ball straight towards the bowler.  © MSL Failed to pick up the ball neatly, de Villiers walked out of his crease to hand it to his former teammate and buddy, but Steyn had other plans.  With a cheeky smile on his face, Steyn collected the ball and instantly threw it at the stumps before appealing to the square-leg umpire for a run-out. The fact that de Villiers turned around to get the ball once again, laughing the whole time, shows exactly how great a chemistry the two future ICC Hall of Famers have shared over the years and years of playing together.  © Reuters Even though the Spartans were unable to chase down Blitz's mediocre 157-run total and got wrapped up on 142, they are currently placed third in the points table winning three out of seven matches while Cape Town are ranked fourth in the after losing four of their eight matches during the second edition of the MSL.

4 Things To Learn From Suniel Shetty's Super Slick Man Bun, If You're Planning On Growing One

Suniel Shetty is 58 years old. Let that sink in, before we get into the man bun tips. Why? Because he probably is the only actor in Bollywood who at 58 can give 25 year olds a legit run for their money, both in terms of style and fitness. © Viral Bhayani He just grew a man bun, and we're here for it. Not only does it look absolutely stylish, it is also serving us grooming lessons on a platter. Read on! © Viral Bhayani 1. You don't have to have extremely long hair to make a man bun. Yes, it is called a bun, for which the assumption is that quite a bit of length is required, but that's not true. As long as you have enough hair to tie in a ponytail, you can manoeuvre  it to look like a bun. Tie it in a pony, and twist the end to get the bun look. It does the job quite well. © Viral Bhayani 2. A messy bun is a legit bun. Often, we are under the impression that a man bun has to be impeccably combed back for it to look legit. That again is not true. Comb it back if you have the time, but if not, just use your hands to do the best that you can, tuck in the rest behind your ears, and you'll be all set. © Viral Bhayani 3. Salt-n-pepper is absolutely fine, people. In fact, it looks better, if you're into looks that are intriguing. A lot of people go for dying and that then results in uneven colouration issues and finally give up on growing the hair. Don't fall into that trap, and just embrace your natural tresses. It looks good, trust us. © Viral Bhayani 4. Always keep your beard and moustache well-groomed. If you're sporting a man bun without a beard, ignore this point, of course, but if you do have a beard, or even a stubble, make sure that it is groomed to perfection. That bit will add that extra oomph to the man bun you're sporting. © Viral Bhayani Go ahead and get that bun!

4 Performances From 'Panipat' That Are Worth Looking Forward To & Arjun Kapoor Isn't One Of Them

The latest Bollywood trend seems to be time-travelling, especially travelling to the past and 'seeing' for ourselves what transpired during some of the most iconic events in Indian history. Bollywood's upcoming film Panipat also happens to be one such attempt at rediscovering the past visually, and truth be told, the Ashutosh Gowarikar directorial looked pretty regal and close-to-reality in the Panipat trailer that recently came out. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Now, we don't want to sound too harsh, but the only thing that seems less convincing in the entire affair besides Arjun Kapoor's dialogue delivery is Arjun Kapoor himself. Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau almost seems out of place, lacklustre and drab as a Maratha warrior in the era when the Marathas were India's most powerful empire. Set against the backdrop of the historic Third Battle of Panipat, the film traces the journey of Sardar Senapati aka Commander-In-Chief of the Maratha army Sadashivrao Peshwa, and his role in trying to defend his motherland from the notorious Ahmad Shah Abdali of the Durrani Empire. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions But if not the lead actor, we feel this movie is worth a watch for the performances of these 4 brilliant actors who also star in Panipat. 1. Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Known to the world as the founder of the Durrani Empire and modern-day Afghanistan, Sanjay Sutt as Abdali looks more than convincing in its attempt to inspire fear and anger all at once. Sanjay Dutt really looks the part as the notorious and ambitious king Abdali. 2. The New 'Sauda Khara Khara' Song Is Out & It's 'Good Newwz' For Every 90s Kid Getting Married Now

If you remember the song Sauda Khara Khara by Sukhbir, your childhood was really good. And if you are one of those who don't know what I am talking about, seriously which rock were you living under all these while? You are not a true 90s kid if you didn't break into a random dance in your bathroom when the song played on the radio; or when you're studying for your exam and there's a wedding in your locality playing the song. That's how addictive and dangerous this song is, you can never stop yourself from dancing. Since the 90s kids are now all grown up and getting married, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Sukhbir decided to recreate that magic and gift you the ONLY song that deserves to be on every playlist this wedding season - Sauda Khara Khara 2.0 from their upcoming movie Good Newwz. #MyMentalHealthIn3Words Is Trending On Twitter & People Openly Talk About Their Mental Health

While we lay emphasis on working hard and achieving all the good things in life, we often forget to check within ourselves to see if we're okay, every once in a while. We take our mental health for granted and set standards that are sometimes a little too low for our mental health to flourish. But in actuality, the most important thing to look out for, in today's day and age, is our own mental health because if we lack the mental stamina then nothing in life is possible to pull off. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, mental health includes, "our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices." © Thinkstock/Getty images So, for us to acknowledge it even more and give it the due importance it really needs, it's important to talk about everything that falls into the mental health bracket and talk it out loud. There are certain platforms laid out for people who're going through issues on mental health and it's time to start a dialogue about the same in society, so that others who think it to be a taboo still, come out and talk about it openly, knowing it's the only way to seek help from it. People on Twitter have really understood the ground reality of mental health through stress, depression, anxiety and/or any other mental illness and have started a conversation under the hashtag #MyMentalHealthInThreeWords. If you go on Twitter, you will see people from across the world describing  their mental state of being in merely three words, projecting that it's important to talk about how're you're feeling at any given time, and through any platform available. The hashtag opened up a completely different wavelength for a conversation online and many took to Twitter to express their mental state of being in just three words.  Check out the posts here SO FUCKING TIRED #MyMentalHealthIn3Words pic.twitter.com/E9BUBaCglP — Areeya (@bombonbeso) December 2, 2019 ðððð you ok? — k4te ð¦ (@k4te891) December 2, 2019 hmm maybe i just need a hug? — Areeya (@bombonbeso) December 2, 2019 Give time to urself. Initiating tweets which give courage, support, platform for similar state of minds and recovery solutions through one hashtag, really make a huge difference. So, the next time you feel you need to talk to someone or just feel like emoting what you feel, either turn to someone you trust and talk about it, or look for that support online, where you will surely get it!

People Are Sharing Things That Can Be Said During Cricket & Sex And Rishabh Pant Is So Unlucky

Have you ever thought some of the things that can be said both during cricket and while having sex? No? Okay, maybe it's time to think about it. Top 10 Bollywood Blockbusters That Must Not Be Missed, According To The 'Decade In Review' Report

As we step into the new decade and leave behind all sorts of baggage, there are some events, some things and some trends which truly defined this decade.  Yahoo India did a 'decade in review' survey and pushed out a report which listed out everything that made it to the top in this decade.  Here are the 10 biggest Bollywood blockbusters of the decade which played big for the box office and the fans: 1. Dangal  The 'dhaakad' girls Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, along with the brilliance of Aamir Khan made sure that this 2016 blockbuster went down in history for being one of the most successful movies, not just in India but also across the globe. This movie, based on the lives of the Phogat sisters and their journey to the Commonwealth games, is a must-watch and sits on top on this list. 2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan  Salman bhai just has to be on this list, given the kind of insane fan following he enjoys. This larger-than-life movie follows the story of Pavan who finds a little Pakistani girl lost in Haryana and decides to help her go back home. 3. PK This Indian satirical comedy follows an alien played by Aamir Khan, who raises many thought-provoking questions which will leave you rambling for answers in life. Rajkumar Hirani is a brilliant storyteller, so this one just had to be on the list. 4. Sultan Yeah, this is a list dominated by Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. But the stats explain why and how their movies cater to the masses, hence the reason they appear so many times on this list. This movie shows Salman as a wrestler who initially gives up but then restarts his journey, emotionally and physically. 5. Tiger Zinda Hai  So, yeah, no surprises here again. The movie did not enjoy much of critical acclaim but made some major moolah at the box office. 6. Dhoom 3  Another Aamir Khan movie on the list. This is the third instalment in the Dhoom franchise and has him playing the antagonist. The movie had a budget of over 175 Crore and ended up crossing 589 Crore at the box office with ease. 7. Sanju  Rajkumar Hirani's brilliant direction met Ranbir Kapoor's magic and you, obviously, a major hit was witnessed on the big screen. Sanju is a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt and had Ranbir donning various looks over the course of the film. 8. War The surprise entry on this list is this recent action-packed movie, but then again, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff look like a sure-shot recipe for a hit. The movie is a chase-and-run story of two soldiers and was a major hit for not this year only but this decade as well. 9. Chennai Express  Finally an SRK movie on the list! This Rohit Shetty action-comedy made over 425 Crore at the box office making it one of the biggest hits of the decade. 10. Dabangg Turns out, Salman Khan is more prominent that one can give him credit. His first edition in this franchise was made on a budget of over a whopping 1.02 billion Rupees and ended up ringing in around 4.65 billion rupees, which explains why it is on the list. Okay, before you go all judgmental on us, a gentle reminder that this list has not been consolidated by us and is based on pure stats. There are so many more brilliant movies which should have been here but, turns out, the 'aam aadmi' is high on the entertainment value of these movies alone which led to some serious money-making.

Adding A 'No-Ball' Umpire In IPL Solves Many Issues But Also Puts Current Officials To Shame

The 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League saw one of the most exciting final matches as Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians won the title against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings by one run, thanks to a brilliant show of bowling prowess and unpredictability by Sri Lankan veteran Lasith Malinga.  He absolutely kept his all important SLOW BALL for the final ball of the IPL tournament.

He is non other than Lasith Malinga

Zero to HERO ! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

CHAMPIONS 2019 IPL — Dilan Jayasinghe (@dilbolz) May 12, 2019 However, the only thing that was talked about even more than the nail-biting final, was the horrible officiating that went on during the month-and-a-half-long T20 league.  One of the biggest controversies took place during the tournament on May 4, 2019, when Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli and his bowler Umesh Yadav found themselves to be in a unique predicament.  Umpire Nigel Llong raised his hand to the side indicating that Yadav's second last delivery of the final over was a no-ball for overstepping the crease. The only issue with the call was that it was incorrect.  The replays on television showed that it was a perfectly legal delivery that “seemed” like a no-ball from the umpire's angle.   #IPL management to look into Umpire Nigel Llong's action after outburst following spat with Virat Kohli

READ: https://t.co/KygPzi9ArG pic.twitter.com/uBR2ymxEcf — Times Now Sports (@timesnowsports) May 7, 2019 There were numerous other such incidents that took place during IPL 2019 and oddly, most of them, somehow, damaged Kohli and RCB.  After facing flak from the viewers, commentators and players combined on all platforms of media, BCCI has finally decided to do something about it. Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Indian Cricket Board revealed on Sunday that the 13th season of IPL will consist of a 'special official' to look out 'front foot' no-balls during the matches. BCCI confirms that IPL will be having a special umpire to monitor the front foot no balls, and if all goes well ICC also soon to made this official for international games. — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) December 2, 2019 Yes, from now on, there will be a dedicated official who will be paid to check if a bowler doesn't take a step too long.  While this is a practical solution to many, MANY problems that the players have faced in the past and will help make the matches carry out more fairly, adding yet another umpire to the already large entourage has to be an insult to the current officials.  And don't get me wrong. The quality of officiating not just in the IPL but international cricket all over the world has been extremely horrific in the recent past, some of it gravely affecting the outcomes of big games. An umpire's job is not easy. While the fans have the option of replays before cursing them out, the umpires have to make a decision in real-time. But that's exactly why they go through the numerous courses and tests before they are recruited to be in the middle of the field. Not to mention all the facilities and a crazy amount of money being paid to them.

6 Things To Keep In Mind Before Buying A Leather Jacket In Winter

The versatility of a leather jacket cannot be questioned and it's definitely a must-have especially during the winter. The transitional months are the best to experiment with this style but with great outfits also comes great responsibility. Buying a leather jacket can put you in a pool of questions but a guide can help you pick the right one. These quick tips will let you find a jacket of your dreams and keep you warm for the coming months. 1. Fit  The thing about leather jackets is that they cannot be baggy and have to snug with your skin. It is recommended that you go a size down, depending upon the leather type. Fit matters and that's what will make your style count. Try it out! © iStock 2. Picking The Right Colour  Since you will be making a lot of appearances in your sassy leather jacket, it is important to stick to colours that also match with your personality. If you don't feel confident in a tan leather jacket, avoid it. Your safe bet in such cases would be a black or a coffee brown leather jacket. If you don't mind a splash of bright hues, take it up a notch with a red leather jacket! © iStock 3. Choose Your Style  With so many trends flowing in the market, it can get a tad bit difficult to find your style. Think of all the occasions you would need this jacket for. Is it for professional use or casual outings? Here are some popular styles to choose from. (a) Biker Jacket A biker jacket comes with zips, elongated flaps and striking buttons. These jackets are usually black and just like the name suggests, it is intended for bikers and is a comfortable add-on to your wardrobe. © iStock (b) Bomber Jacket Making your outfit look sporty can be done right with a bomber leather jacket. This simple style has an easy-to-wear silhouette, just with one zip. The collar is made in a different fabric to keep the cold air out. This classic leather jacket is for everyone and will let you make a statement. © iStock (c) Racer Jacket Racer jacket comes with a minimal design. This jacket has zippers and can instantly elevate your style. That's how versatile it is! © iStock 4. Pay Attention To Its Sleeves  Just like the sleeve of a t-shirt or any other jacket style should not extend the wrist line, the same goes for a leather jacket as well. It should not cross your wrist line otherwise it is long for you. Motorcycle jackets, in this case, are an exception as they usually have a longer sleeve. © iStock 5. The Length Should End At The Waistline Regardless of the style you choose, your leather jacket should end at your waistline. Long jacket style looks good with trench coats but a leather jacket will make it look shapeless. For a flattering style, keep this quick tip in mind. © Instagram 6. Shoulder Fit Matters The leather jacket at the shoulder should not be too tight but it shouldn't droop down as well. When you wear it, if it's hard for you to move your hands in circles, you might need a bigger size. Make sure you take this into consideration for a size that is yours. © iStock

Four Kids Won Rs 1. 29 Cr In 'PUBG Mobile' Tournament & We Wonder What The Haters Are Saying Now

Slowly but steadily, Esports is getting some well-deserved attention. And what's interesting is that it's not just the adults who are making it big in Esports these days, as even kids are making a big name for themselves by playing games like Fortnite and PUBG. You remember the kid who won $4 million by winning the Fortnite World Cup, right? Well, now, we're looking at a team of kids from Indonesia who walked away with a hefty cash prize by winning the PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split Global. Yes, Team Bigetron RA from Indonesia just won the tournament and walked away with a whopping $180,000, which roughly translates to about Rs 1.29 Crore. Let that sink in for a moment. You just can't keep them down! @realbigetron takes their 5th(!) Chicken Dinner of the #PMCO2019 Fall Split Global Finals sponsored by Vivo in Round 12. Is a 6th possible? https://t.co/2LpM7xrJDa pic.twitter.com/ZeTqqhD1m3 — PUBG MOBILE (@PUBGMOBILE) December 1, 2019 The runner-up also won $90,000 which is also not a small amount. It roughly translates to about Rs 65 Lakh. That being said, winning such a tournament isn't an easy thing to pull off. It takes a lot of practice since you'll essentially be competing with the best teams out there. India's Team SouL also competed in a different split, but they couldn't get through to the finals. Team SouL participated this year as well, but they only managed to put a score of 103 on the board after 16 matches, whereas the winning team had 303. Nonetheless, we're incredibly proud of the team and we hope they'll win it next time. The overall standings after 16 grueling matches in 3 intense days for the #PMCO2019 Fall Split Global Finals, sponsored by #Vivo! You have your Top 3 representing teams, @TOP_Esports_ & @MEGAEsportsSEA with @realbigetron claiming the World Championship in 1st place! #BeTheOne pic.twitter.com/NDHRBFIqhP — PUBG MOBILE Esports (@EsportsPUBGM) December 1, 2019 But coming back to the Esports part, we think it's high time people start taking Esports seriously. There's a huge scope in this field and since it's still evolving, there's a lot of room for growth. It makes us really happy to see these young talents getting all the attention they deserve.  We really hope more parents will come across such achievements and let their kid pursue a future in gaming, instead of making them feel bad for gaming.

Jimmy Sheirgill's Top 6 Performances Which Prove He's An Underrated Star Despite The Lack Of Fame

The real tragedy doesn't lie in being average, it's actually in being better than the average, being talented and possessing the heart to really chase after your passion. It's like being caught in an in-between, and that's an awful place to be in for anyone, but it's especially tragic for an actor. They are often good enough to be at par with the lead actors (or even better than the leads at times) but as luck would have it, lack of 'connections' and opportunities makes them settle for much less such as playing the second fiddle. © Instagram - Jimmy Shergill It's rather disheartening that my opening lines for an article on Jimmy Shergill should contain the term 'tragedy' in it, but it is what it is. This thet Punjabi munda, has always been deeply connected to his roots, glimpses of which can be found in a number of memorable characters Jimmy has portrayed in the last two decades of his presence in Bollywood. Yet, it wouldn't be unfair to say that the Hindi film industry has failed to explore the true potential of this talented actor who could have been much more.  He was killed off even before we really got to know him in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Bang Bang saw him share a similar fate once again where his character drops dead in the first five minutes of the film. Plays a guy with speech impairment in a film where he is trying to woo a girl and honestly, he seems to be losing the girl in every movie he signs up. © Instagram - Jimmy Shergill But a number of his movies and performances have left a mark in the hearts of people who feel this guy really deserves more than just five minutes of footage, being tossed around uncharacteristically, or reservations, when it comes to applauding his good work. 1. Maachis © Eros Entertainment Jimmy Shergill's 1996 debut movie showed him in the role of a young college guy, forced by circumstances to pick up arms. But Jaimal's small role was still impactful and helped carry the plot forward. Yet, very few would remember him from the film that also starred Chandrachur Singh and Tabu in the lead. 2. A Wednesday © Friday Filmworks Perhaps one of Jimmy's most memorable performances for most people, Jimmy as police officer Arif Khan who makes it his life's purpose to foil possible bombings in his city and the way he goes about doing it all is commendable, to say the least. 3. Yahaan © Sahara One Motion Pictures Jimmy Shergill as Captain Aman in Shoojit Sircar's Yahaan, not only made for an insightful war drama but his performance as an Army officer as well as a lover, who falls for a Kashmiri woman amid war and unrest, cannot be easily forgotten. 4. Special 26 © Friday Filmworks How can we forget Sub-Inspector Ranveer Singh who does a rather marvellous job of sending the CBI into a complete spin and the workings of which are not discovered until the very end? Not only Jimmy's performance, but even the way his character evolves in the film deserves an honest mention. 5. Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster © Bohra Bros Jimmy Shergill really does manage to pull off the role of Aditya Pratap Singh with great aplomb. As Singh tries to hold the fort against political meanderings and pressure to maintain his lifestyle as royalty, the film takes us through the many unimagined ways love, betrayal and money work. 6. Tanu Weds Manu Series © Viacom 18 If not anything else, Jimmy Shergill as Raja Awasthi credits a mention as one of his really memorable performances. When the nemesis succeeds to inspire sympathy in the hearts of the audience, you should know there's something special there, and Raja is just that. A lot twisted and sharp around the edges, but one that allows light to break through the cracks. You cannot help but really feel for the guy here.

As great and comprehensive your skincare regime may be, it cannot be the same throughout the weather. © iStock With a shift in the season, the surrounding air, water and the humidity levels, everything undergoes a massive change. And like most of us, if you too reside in a city that has to deal with absurd levels of pollution, you need to factor that in as well, when you come up with a skincare regime. © iStock Considering all these things, here are a few skincare products that you should consider, if a flawless, ever-glowing skin is something that you are looking for. Luka Modric's Tribute To Ballon D'Or Winner Lionel Messi Proves Football Is Beyond Rivalries

Tied with his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo at five wins apiece, Lionel Messi etched his name in the history books after claiming a record sixth Ballon d'Or trophy in a star-studded awards ceremony in Paris. In the process, Messi became the first player to reach the landmark, coming out on top of the 30-man nomination list which included the likes of Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk. © Reuters Messi and Ronaldo have dominated one of the football's most prestigious trophies over the last decade. Both had earlier won five Ballon d'Ors to prove they are in a class of their own. But, their dominance was eventually brought to an end by Luka Modric who won the coveted award last year. But, for someone who won the trophy last year, Modric failed to find a nomination this year. While Messi lifted his record sixth award, Modric became the first Ballon d'Or winner not to be nominated in the next year's edition. But, despite failing to make the cut in the nomination list this year, the Croatian was all but praise for his Barcelona rival. Sports and football are not just about winning, they're also about respect for your teammates and rivals. ð¤ #BallonDOr pic.twitter.com/0AvmMdrya1 — Luka ModriÄ (@lukamodric10) December 2, 2019 Unlike his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo who snubbed the awards ceremony to attend Gran Gala, Modric handed over the Ballon d'Or trophy to the Barcelona talisman and then congratulated him on social media with a heartfelt message. "Sports and football are not just about winning, they're also about respect for your teammates and rivals," Modric tweeted alongside a picture of him handing Messi the award. @Cristiano Ronaldo was named the Italian league's player of the year on Monday following his debut season at Juventus.

He had scored 41 goals in 44 club appearances so far for the Catalan giants across the calendar year which probably allowed him to hold off the challenge of Dutch defender Van Dijk who helped Liverpool bag the 2019 Champions League title. While the social media was abuzz with Messi's record triumph at this year's Ballon d'Or awards ceremony, football fans across the globe also hailed Modric for his sportsmanship as he successfully proved football is beyond rivalries.
