State Police Departments Create Innovative Awareness Campaign On Janta Curfew & It's A Great Move

The entire nation has geared up for the âJanta Curfewâ which is going on today and will continue for fourteen long hours. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the nation to stay indoors as a preventive measure to contain the deadly coronavirus outbreak. Supporting the initiative, many celebrities took to their social media handles and shared awareness videos urging Indians to support the cause. Not only this, now the State Police Departments across the nation have also taken to their social media handles to create awareness messages in a creative way with a touch of humour. Mumbai Police took to its Twitter handle saying, âSometimes, all you need to do be a superhero is to stay home.â Checkout the post here- Sometimes, all you need to do be a superhero is to stay home! #TakingOnCorona

Also, it's extremely important to strictly follow the government's instructions.

There Are More Gamers In The World Right Now Than Ever Due To The Coronavirus Outbreak

We're living in a world where probably every other person is now talking about a deadly virus outbreak. Tough times, but we'll get through this. One of the best things one can do in times like this is to self-isolate and avoid going outdoors. Well, it looks like a lot of people around are already doing it and most of them have turned towards video games to kill their free time. Steam, one of the biggest online marketplace for video games on the PC, saw a significant spike in the number of people online. Steam just achieved a new peak concurrent user record of 22 million, one day after reaching 21 million and six days after reaching 20 million.

Global lockdowns and self isolation due to COVID-19 has led to at home gaming becoming a safe form of entertainment to pass the time. pic.twitter.com/6lhNFCawKD â Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) March 21, 2020Yesterday, Steam marked an all-time peak with over 22 million online people, a record which was only set a day ago when it saw 21 million people online on its platform. Yes, these indeed are some crazy numbers that we're seeing now. There's a steady growth in the numbers and we can confirm that because Steam had marked 20 million online users just six days before hitting 22 million. It looks like the numbers started surging as soon as a lot of countries announced lockdowns. © Bethesda It's safe to call it a global lockdown because most of the countries, including India, are now on-board this whole self-isolation situation. This global isolation and self-isolation due to COVID-19 have led to home gaming becoming one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Additionally, it's also the safest form of entertainment out there to pass time.
Doom Eternal, a new game that just released during the outbreak, saw over 100,000 concurrent players playing it on Steam at a given time. In addition to Steam, we're sure other gaming marketplaces and launchers are also seeing a significant spike in the number of users. © Reuters Call Of Duty: Warzone has also attracted over 30 million players in just 10 days of being out. Animal Crossing New Horizons has come out with the Nintendo Switch and it's already seeing a ton of players online. Similarly, we've started seeing a ton of new players join existing popular titles like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG.
Online game streaming service Twitch is also seeing a lot of new users and the creators are having one heck of a time streaming in such difficult times and entertain the users. If you aren't already, then we suggest you stay indoors and isolate yourself as much as you can. In case you're interested, you can check out the list of games that you can play while being in lockdown.

Coronavirus outbreak is currently at its peak in many places and it only seems to be getting worse with each passing day. In case you're following the news around COVID-19 then you probably already know that new numbers of positive cases are rapidly pouring in. With information changing so quickly, it's very important to find a trusted source to keep up with the numbers. If you're worried about the unnecessary spread of fake news during tough times like this, then here's the best way to get you facts right about the COVID-19. © Reuters You can simply use WhatsApp to get any information on COVID-19 straight from WHO. That's right. The WHO has announced a new Health Alert system through WhatsApp. This free service is designed to keep the people across the globe informed about things that are happening.
The best part about this service is that it's available 24*7. Here's how to use it. Within WhatsApp, simply send "Hi" to +41798931892. Yes, that's the number. You can create a new contact from within WhatsApp itself and then send the message. When you text, you'll almost immediately get a response back from the numbers detailing everything about Coronavirus along with a couple of other options to choose from. © WHO Now, you can select the kind of information that you'd like to learn. For instance, sending "1" will get you the latest numbers. If you send a "thumbs up" emoji, then you'll get information about how to protect yourself.
This particular service will soon be available in languages other than English like Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish in the coming weeks. But for now, if you know English then this is probably the best source of information out there on Cornavirs with reliable numbers.

'Believe In Yourself': Cliff Devries Story From Paralysis To Diving On His Birthday Is Inspirational

Cliff Devries has one of the most inspirational stories that the sporting world has ever heard of. The story of an extremely talented, confident young man who got into one of the most well known educational institutions in the world. The story of slowly losing his ability to do the kind of things he could. The story of undergoing surgery, facing complications and losing all his motor functions. The story of coming back from all of that. Devries started diving when he was in freshman year at Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in New York and quickly found out that he was really good at it. He had the body of a professional swimmer to go along with the elegance required for the sport. His brilliance in the waters got him a scholarship to the University of Kentucky as well. © Democrat and Chronicle By now, he had decided that he would try his hand at qualifying for the Olympics and maybe even win a medal for his country. However, the dream continued to be just that -- a dream.
While trying more and more difficult diving routines, Devries soon began to realise that his shoulder wasnât as strong as it once used to be. âI started taking courses, but then my shoulder started getting really weak and I wasnât able to do the diving skills anymore,â he said, according to an article by Reporter. © ESPN E60 Unable to perform, he soon lost his scholarship and had to move and started living with his sister in Utah.
Back when he had started to discover his shoulder abnormality, Devries went to the doctors with a thought that it was nothing more than a pinched nerve, something a lot of athletes suffer from time to time. But when he asked the doctors how the MRI was coming along, he saw the haunted expression on their faces and instantly knew that the problem was a lot bigger than just a pinched nerve. In 1995, after the test, Devriesâ parents had to give him the most spine-chilling news. âThey said, âCliff, youâre going to die. Youâve got a large tumor (tumour) in your spinal cord,ââ he recalled. âIt took the breath out of me ... All these plans of a future, a family â everything was wiped away. It was gut-wrenching.â © ESPN E60 In the need of a surgery, Devries travelled to New York City where the medical staff worked on him for 13 hours straight. They were confident that they had taken out over 90% of his tumour. However, the operation did not go as smoothly as they had planned.
Devries explained, âThey lost all the equipment. They donât know whether I died or whether it was equipment failure, but for a short time they didnât have any life signs on me." After the surgery, he was put on a ventilator for a few days. He was critical and had to be kept in the Intensive Care Unit. A few weeks later, he was moved to Strong Memorial Hospital but at this point, Devries had lost all motor functions with complete paralysis from neck down. © ESPN E60 Forget about diving at the Olympics, for Devries, moving a single finger had become a daunting task. âThere were times where, yeah, I wanted to die,â he said.
While everything physical that made him a top-tier athlete during his days of prime had left him, what did not leave him was his mental resolve. A sportspersonâs strong-headedness is the very root of their success or failure and Devries wanted to succeed. He sought therapy for years. The sessions were tough, gruelling and very demanding. One session would drain the man for the rest of the day, only to try and do the same things soon. But eventually, he did manage to get some response from his body. © Inspire More âWhen I really started to see progress was when they took me off of the medications, off the painkillers, the antidepressants, the blood thinners â all that stuff ... My muscles started feeling better; I started feeling better,â he said.
He got up all by himself within six months. He took a few steps after a year. He walked with a cane in two years and by January 2019, he was capable of walking more than a kilometer in one go. Still connected to diving, Devries wanted to do his bit in giving back to the sport. He applied for the position of the diving coach at his own high school and they showed their utmost support and hired him. © Reporter Instructing the young and talented students from the poolside became his new passion and he loved doing it.
However, in an ESPN E60 episode, the former diver expressed his sorrow in watching others get on the board and dive. He said that he wanted to experience what it felt like, the rush of a half a second in the air before you make contact with water, he wanted to feel it again. And so, on his 46th birthday, on October 30, 2019, he wore his swimming trunks, walked to the diving board, climbed the ladder, stepped to the edge of the plank and just⦠jumped. âYou are not going to find a lot of beauty in what I do, but itâs a lot of hard work, itâs a lot of emotions and itâs all balled up into a little half-second fall into the water,â he said. How do you know your limit? What is it that tells us âyou cannot do more than thisâ? What is to stop you from getting over all the obstacles in your way and take whatever it is that you desire? You look at Cliff Devriesâ story and you ask yourself that.

5 Healthy Hacks That Will Instantly Make Your Hairstyle Look Great

You usually have a set routine when it comes to your hair. Washing it with shampoo, drying it and leaving for work defines everything. Then there are also salon visits that help amp up the look. In the meantime, you ask your barber to change your hairstyle and probably end up getting the most disastrous one.  To save yourself from this ugly wrath, why not start working on your hairstyle that will actually help balance out these issues for you? Luckily, with these armed tips ahead, you would exactly know some healthy hacks that will make your hairstyle look great.  1. Don't Skip Pre-Styling Product © iStock Before you start styling your hair in a certain way, you can use products like heat protectant spray or sea salt spray. The reason why this works wonders is because it easily gives your hair that added volume you desire. Adding a pre-styler product to your damp hair and then applying your usual products amps up your hairstyle further. This is one of the easiest tricks to follow through.
2. Choose Hairstyle As Per Face Shape © iStock There's only one thing that makes a hairstyle stand out and that's your face shape. Every face type is different and if your hairstyle doesn't go well with your face cut, it won't look good, no matter what you do. Understanding which hairstyles are supposed to harmonise with your face shape is something that you should consider before finally going to the barber and asking him to cut your hair.
3. Periodically Work The Edges © iStock A trimmer is probably not something you might want to use often, but it can come in handy to clean those edges of your hairline to look as neat as a new pin. Trimmers are a godsend but remember to go easy on it or you could end up overdoing and spoiling your look.
4. Use Hair Conditioner  © iStock Hair tends to get bothered due to humidity and other circumstances, but a quick damage control here would be to use a conditioner and run it on your hair when it's a little damp. Don't have hair conditioner? You can also use a dab of your facial moisturiser on your hair and control your mane. This works wonders and helps in keeping your hairstyle set at all hours.
5. Take Lukewarm Showers © iStock While piping hot shower can make you feel good, it actually strips off all the natural oil from your hair leading to dryness and more frizziness. Instead, learn to brace cold or lukewarm showers as that forms the basis of a great hairstyle. Get into this habit and you will notice positive changes in your hairstyle.

A Beginners Guide To Do A Simple Haircut For Men At Home

With an indefinite quarantine period and no certainty as to when things will get better, courtesy the coronavirus pandemic, staying at home has become the new everyday reality for most of us. And one thing that we know for certain is that our everyday routine is going to be disrupted in the coming weeks since we can't leave our houses. In a scenario like this, if you're someone who can't stand long hair and are contemplating giving it a trim yourself, you should definitely read ahead. We're not saying that you should go all out with the scissors, but there is room for self trims that can make it look neat. Firstly, cutting your own hair is not for everyone. But hey, if it goes wrong, you're at home for a couple of weeks, so it's not that bad an idea.   So, for men, here's a quick guide to follow if you want to give a shot to cutting your own hair.  1. As a norm, the hairdresser will always wet your hair or preferably give it a wash before starting to cut it. Likewise, you also need to get your hair wet under running water and wash it using shampoo and conditioner before starting anything. © iStock 2. Next, run a brush through your hair and work out any knots. This will make sure that whatever you attempt to cut is even. Then, dry it off with a towel. Comb your hair again to get rid of any tangles.
© iStock 3. Cutting your hair can especially take time if you've never done it before. Choose a spot in your house where you can calmly sit down and cut your hair without any disruption. That's really important.
© Istock 4. Comb your hair right about where your head curves, next brush through the hair between the part and the ear down. Repeat on both sides of the head. Next, it's time to get that trimmer out. Clippers work great for a basic haircut. However, remember to set your clippers' guard, which controls how much hair you end up clipping. © Kartik Aaryan Instagram 5. You can also lightly run past your hair in multiple directions with the trimmer to get all the strays at once. If you're going to use scissors, use the ends to lightly cut into your hair on the diagonal so you donât create any hard lines and take the ends off. With scissors if you can take help, you should for better results.  © Istock 6. Post this, you can just brush off the residue hair and take a shower. Your make-shift haircut might turn out to look better than you expected.

5 Simple Yet Effective Things WWE Stars Do To Create Illusion Of Inflicting Pain On Rivals

At this point, people are completely aware of the fact that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and some of the other brands who indulge in the same âpro-wrestlingâ business, depend heavily on scripts. Their goal is to entertain us using storylines and presenting a show inside the ring which resides within us for the years to come.  In hopes of achieving that, WWE has done various things in the past, such as, making the performers cut themselves with a blade to show blood back in the day to coming up with some of the most unusual narratives around the wrestlers (I mean⦠giving birth to a hand, COME ON NOW!).  Although, ever since the company decided to become kids friendly, they have turned down the crazy by a couple of notches and depended on the wrestlersâ acrobats and the ability to sell the moves inside the square ring. Having said that, there are a few moments from time to time during which the narratives require for the wrestlers to go out of their way, dial in their creativity and create the illusion of really inflicting pain on their opponents to sell the rivalry between them.  Here are a couple of the most simple yet effective ways that the WWE superstars have been doing it for ages now: 1. Triple Hâs Sledgehammer Shots To The Face © WWE Letâs start with the most obvious one. During his days as a wrestling headliner, Triple H was known to carry a massive sledgehammer in his hand wherever he went. He would take it out from underneath the ring or would have someone from the crowd hand it to him to turn the tables of the match in an instant.
However, the âdeadly shotâ that he used to take with the hammer was more evident that the wrestler thought it to be. Whenever, HHH used to go for a blow, he would cover the hammer with his hand which would absorb the contact between the iron and the face of his opponent. 2. Randy Ortonâs âPunt Kickâ © WWE When Randy Orton first introduced the world to his new move called the âPunt Kickâ, people wondered how could the WWE allow something so vicious. Kicking people in the head like a football has to be as inhumane as it gets, right?
But thanks to the multiple camera angles provided by the brand, fans were quick to find out why Ortonâs kick was not as deadly as it would have been in real life. What âThe Viperâ does is that he quickly swings away from the face of the opponents and âkicks the airâ with the rest of the selling of the move completely dependent on the victim. 3. Headshots With Steel Chair © WWE At the time of the âAttitude Eraâ, the company had no issues with wrestlers actually hitting each other on the head with steel chairs but due to multiple athletes coming up with severe concussions due to the move, they had to ban it completely. Now they are only restricted to steel chair shots to the back.
But recently, Edge found his own way about selling headshots with steel chairs when he was cutting a promo with MVP. During the scene, the âRated R Superstarâ placed MVPâs head on one steel chair and hit the metal with another chair just a few centimeter away from the wrestlerâs head. It sounded like the impact was real but MVP was absolutely safe. 4. Whipping Batistaâs Back With A Steel Chain © WWE When Triple H and Batista competed in a âNo Holds Barredâ match at WrestleMania 35, fans thought that the brand was going back to the violent era in which spewing blood and inflicting real damage was a common norm. According to the kayfabe, in the fight between the two legends, Triple H even ripped off Batistaâs nose ring at one point.
He also began to whip âThe Animalâ with a massive steel chain with repeated shots to his back with the impact sounding as sadistic as it looked. When the dust settled, the fans watched the videos again and realised that the chain was hitting the announcersâ table and was merely falling onto Batistaâs back slowly. 5. Shawn Michaelsâ Sweet-Chin Music © WWE Ah! The notorious Shawn Michaels with his kip-ups and over the top jackets. One of the most entertaining wrestlers in the history of the profession, Michaels heavily depended on his finisher move, the âSweet Chin Musicâ to get the audience cheering (or booing) him. A swift kick to the chin which would sound like the opponent would only be opening his eyes at the hospital, that was the Heartbreak Kidâs memo.
After years and years of HBK performing this move, fans finally discovered the source of the devastating thud that came along with the kick. If you closely look at the leg that Michaels used to deliver the blow, you could see that he would slap his thigh with his hand just at the time of making contact with the opponent to make it sound like an absolute knockout. Which one has been your favourite? Let us know in the comments section below.

5 Types Of Professionals That Earn Way More Than Doctors & This Hits Hard Amid Coronavirus

Beginning with the initial outbreak in China, the current crisis in Italy and subsequently, throughout the world, doctors and nurses in all departments were told they may have to start working in emergency rooms and intensive care units, a directive that sent shock waves through the medical community. Doctors and health workers across the world are giving up time with their loved ones to help keep ours safe and well. They have a simple request for all their hard work in combating #coronavirus ...#socialdistancing #stayathome #stayhomeforus #COVID2019AU #medtwitter pic.twitter.com/z9EUsiYnvs â AMA Media (@ama_media) March 19, 2020 As demands ramp up with the number of cases inching closer to 300,000, itâs sobering to realise how crucial the role of medical personnel are in society. An estimated 10-15 million doctors practice across the globe, and their counterparts in some of the worldâs more flashy, glamorous job titles receive compensation thatâs quite simply absurd - given the need of the hour. Weâre taking a closer look at the income disparities doctors have to face in four hotspots where the virusâ physical and social presence has made massive changes - India, China, Italy and the United States. Hereâs what we find:  1. Social Media Influencers © Reuters Thereâs no avoiding it - social media influencers have taken over their respective platforms in the last 10years, and their incomes have also exponentially exploded in return. Perhaps the most obvious and popular example is Kylie Jenner from the Kardashian dynasty - the âyoungest self-made billionaireâ rakes in $180 million per year according to Forbes. In case youâre wondering how much she earns compared to her counterparts, most of them are in med-school - the young celebrity is just 22 years old.
© Reuters Meanwhile in India and China, while thereâs no shortage of influencers across films, music and fashion plying their trade, the emergence of Chinese-owned
TikTok has spread the influencer bug much deeper into Indian cities and towns, amassing over 120 million users. Mr. Faisu, who we interviewed earlier in December, had close to 20 million followers before being hit with a ban for political content - a fanbase that allows him to earn an estimated 30-40 lakhs per annum. Thatâs about twice as much as that of a specialised cardiologist in India.  2. CEOs © Reuters It all starts from the top, of course - most of the worldâs richest people are helming global corporations with thousands of employees. In the case of India and the United States, things already seem severely tilted, with both nations topping the ranks for CEO to the average worker ratio. Reliance mogul Mukesh Ambani earns a staggering 48 times more than the average Indian doctor, not even counting stocks and a diverse portfolio of earnings. © Reuters When it comes to the US, things are clearer. Amazonâs Jeff Bezos makes about 14 times more than the average, fully-qualified doctor, not counting for his 16% stake in the company. Bring that into the picture, however, and Bezos earns an astounding 6 lakh times more.
3. Athletes © Reuters According to estimates, the worldâs sports industries make up close to $500 billion - no doubt supported by the tireless athletic and marketing efforts of the worldâs biggest athletes.  Italy has been a key nation behind the dominance of football in sports today - most of the teams in Serie A pay their players between 4 to 1 million US dollars a year. Juventus, in particular, pays over twice of that with an average of 10 million, but what about Ronaldo? The legendary player pulled in a whopping $108 million in 2019 when combining both his winnings, earnings and endorsements - 805 times that of an average Italian dottore.  © Reuters Things arenât that different in China - the epicentre of the worldâs viral crisis, that has major income disparity as well.  The Chinese Super League attracts worldwide talent to play for its teams and the economic powerhouse pays its players around $1 million annually - around 250 times that of the Chinese average salary.  Bring doctors into the mix along with the leagueâs wealthiest player, Brazilâs Oscar, and his heavy $25 million earnings tower in comparison to the $13,000 that Chinese docs take home each year. Thatâs a ratio of nearly 1:2000. © Reuters Leaving aside football, India (until recent years, perhaps) has considered sports synonymous with cricket, and on that spreadsheet, no one dominates the competition quite like skipper Virat Kohli. While the average IPL player nets around $5 million annually, the Indian captain pulls in $25 million per annum - making his bank accounts fill over 3000 times faster than most Indian doctors.
4. Filmstars © Reuters Unsurprisingly, both India and the United States have points to make here, with them both running the two most successful film industries in the world.  Artists, in general, see great variation in income - while struggling actors make extremely irregular annual incomes, things are very different at the other end.  Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnson sits at the peak here, raking in close to $90 million a year. The top ten ranges anywhere from that figure to Will Smithâs $35 million, making them earn between 900 to 350 times the average American doc. © Reuters In India, the difference is truly astounding. Akshay Kumar, who also happened to be the 4th most paid actor in the world last year, raked in $65 million - close to 6.5 thousand times an Indian doctorâs takeaway even in major cities such as Mumbai.
5. Politicians © Reuters Well, at least for the other three you have the benefit of saying theyâve earned their worth - nailing down the exact incomes of politicians turns out to be an understandably difficult affair.  In the United States, Donald Trump entered the presidency as the only billionaire in US Presidential history - in 2019, the POTUS raked in somewhere over half a billion dollars, making him at least four thousand times richer than the average doctor in the US. © Reuters In India, however, expecting a straight annual income figure for politicians is naive. On paper, for example, PM Narendra Modi, for example, has a salary of around $30,000 per annum - less than the average tier-1 city specialist earns.
If we look at the scale of major scams led by any of the many corrupt positions in our government over the years, things seem to feel a lot bleaker. Take the mid-2010s Coalgate scam, which cost the nation $33.33 billion, close to 10% the net worth of Indiaâs entire healthcare industry - thereâs no shortage of reasons to raise eyebrows at the earnings of Indian politicians.  While all these professions have their place in the society, the current pandemic is a wake-up call for many to remember just how much time, attention and money is diverted towards not so essential figures in the society. Hopefully after the crisis is averted, governments and regulatory bodies will step in to ensure that the invaluable service given by the worldâs medical professionals gets the recognition it deserves.

Post Covid-19 Diagnosis, Kanika Kapoor Blames Lax Health Staff For Being Treated Like A Criminal

The dust doesnât seem to be settling around the storm brewed by Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor ever since she tested positive for COVID-19. The Baby Doll singer has since, been receiving a ton of backlash for being ânegligentâ and threatening the safety of people.  However, in a new turn of events, Kanika Kapoor has decided to speak out against all the hate that is coming her way since her diagnosis yesterday.  Speaking to TOI Kanika said, "I want to tell people that I'm not the irresponsible person I'm being made to look like." © Instagram Kanikais currently being kept in isolation at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, and she spoke at length about how none of this is her fault, to begin with.  Instead, she believes the casual behaviour of the state health authorities should be questioned for her delayed diagnosis and quarantine.  During the interview, Kanika shared that she was fully screened at the Mumbai airport upon her arrival in India on 9th March, and when no red flags were put out, she decided to come and stay with her parents in Lucknow.   She even says that no government advisory for foreign-returned individuals had been issued at the time, and since she hadnât developed any symptoms and didnât know she had contracted the virus, she did attend a few parties.  © Instagram Talking about the same, Kanika said that she never hosted a party but went to a small birthday bash which was attended by several politicians including Dushyant Singh. However, peopleâs nasty comments and weird allegations have been upsetting her thoroughly even when she claims she isnât the one to be blamed. © Instagram In her defence, Kanika said, âWhen I called the helpline numbers, after hearing out my symptoms, they said it doesn't seem like the Coronavirus, and it might just be the seasonal flu. But I kept insisting, and it was only after I pestered them that the CMO sent people to take my samples. I was the one who pestered the authorities, who I felt were taking things lightly. It took them three days to send someone to collect my sample and test it. From Monday till then, I had confined myself to my room. The moment I felt sick, I called up the authorities. So, tell me, whoâs been lax?" © Instagram She has even spoken out against the medical staff at SGPGIMS, claiming that not only is she being mistreated and threatened by the doctors for allegedly âwithholding informationâ, she is also being kept in a dirty room with flies-ridden food being served to her. She said, âI am being ill-treated here and it feels like Iâm in jail. They are behaving as if I am a criminal for no fault of mine.â Now we didnât see that coming. What are your thoughts on this?

Coronavirus: From Kanika Kapoor To Bureaucrats, Heres How Privileged Indians Are Letting Us Down

The irresponsibility with which Indian citizens have been dealing with the outbreak of contagious and even deadly pandemic, Coronavirus is alarming, to say the least. The WHO and our government have been constantly urging people to practice social distancing, go on a self-quarantine for 14 days if you have traveled abroad, wash hands regularly, keep a sanitizer handy and make sure that you donât ignore your symptoms.  But seems like it's still difficult for people to understand this and take a note of it in their head. If you analyze the situation in the country, people who are literate and seem to be educated are finding it hard to contain themselves and self-isolate whenever needed. Better known as 'padhe likhe gawaar' in hindi, these irresponsible citizens are actually putting the lives of millions at risk with their negligence.   View this post on InstagramHi ðð»ââï¸A post shared by (@kanik4kapoor) People, who are suspected cases, are running away from quarantine centers and some are complaining of the isolation rooms not being up to the mark. What's worse is that people are not even taking self-isolation seriously. Needless to say, if we keep at it with this attitude, it would be next to impossible for our country to battle it. Even after knowing the fact that Coronavirus is contagious, there are some people who have taken it lightly and in fact, have put many others in danger. Here are such instances of the 'literate and educated' acting irresponsibly. 1. Let me start by presenting the case of  Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who didnât care to  self-quarantine after she came from London. According to reports, she hid her travel history from the concerned authorities. The worst part is that she has put many others in danger as she was actively attending parties in the period she should have isolated herself and just yesterday, the news broke in that she has been tested positive for Coronavirus.  View this post on InstagramHello everyone, For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway aswell. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10days ago when I came back home, the symptoms have developed only 4 days ago. At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives. Wishing everyone good health. Jai Hind ! Take care, KKA post shared by (@kanik4kapoor) 2. Another infamous case is about a senior bureaucratâs son, who traveled from London, moved around the city of Kolkata freely for good two days even after he was advised to get himself checked immediately. His mother whoâs a bureaucrat is also being accused of hiding this from the authorities. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, âYou see that symptoms have come, but you roamed about like an irresponsible person. It could infect 5,000 others, from contact with you. Er cheye obibechok kaaj aar kichhui hotey paarey na (there can be nothing more inconsiderate than this).â  Here's the chilling account of the same: 3. A few days back, we had reported how a few civilians in Nagpur made the streets their workout stations. It seems like common sense has suddenly vanished from our minds. The government has laid out strict guidelines asking people to not gather and this is why gyms were shut in the first place. Thankfully, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced a lockdown in the entire state, which should help in curbing such cases.  4. In another shocking news, a medical superintendent from AIIMS, Bhubaneswar also hid his sonâs travel history of flying in from London to Delhi first and then to Bhubaneswar by an Indigo flight on March 18. However, on March 19, he complained of problems in breathing and was taken to AIIMS Bhubaneswar  where he was tested positive. On the very same day, the medical superintendent whoâs the nodal officer of Covid-19 in the city had a meeting with the state government officials and resident doctors are now demanding action against him for hiding the travel history of his son.     5. It's not just civilians, as even politicians seem to be taking it lightly. Reportedly, Koneru Konappa, an MLA from Telangana's ruling party, who had just returned from the US, skipped his quarantine and instead travelled in trains and even attended a social function and political gathering. So #TRS #Sirpur MLA #konerukonappa instead of being in #quarantine, travelled by train to attend municipal council meeting in #Kaghaznagar where entire council reportedly attended; was it ignorance or callousness about public safety?@ndtv @ndtvindia #CoronavirusOutbreakindia pic.twitter.com/tnLERd3vx5 â Uma Sudhir (@umasudhir) March 20, 2020 There are many more unreported cases that are not being taken into consideration. And in such dire circumstances thereâs only one question for all these negligent people - is it a lack of compassion or sheer stupidity that's making them do this? We appeal to everyone to start taking this pandemic very seriously otherwise at this rate, we will surely enter stage 3.

Manoj Tiwari Denies Attending Kanika Kapoor's Party & People Are Calling Out His Blatant Lie

So far, the Coronavirus situation in the country has not gotten out of control and literally every single citizen is responsible for keeping it that way. Personal measures need to be taken to prevent the virus from spreading and social distancing and self-isolation are crucial right now.  Moreover, doing the right thing by self-quarantining and getting yourself tested if you've returned from a foreign country or have been in contact with someone who tested positive, is also important. Despite these measures being repeated over and over for everyone, some people are just selfish dumbasses. Case in point, singer Kanika Kapoor, who failed to disclose her travel history and then went on to go party and potentially infect hundreds of people. Now, everyone who she came in contact with at that infamous Lucknow party should be under self-quarantine but nope, some people have a problem with that. Heres How India Is Becoming A Nation Of Sneakerheads & Hypebeasts

The manner in which sneakers have come to rule the zeitgeist of Indian men is, simply put, uncanny.   In the last two decades, our affinity and love for the footwear have grown leaps and bounds. So much so, that pick any typical Indian millennial who has the spending, and you will see them in some basic pair of sneakers or the other.  © Instagram/vegnonveg Even our celebrities, actors and cricketers alike, are massive hypebeasts, and can often be seen wearing some zany pair or the other.   However, this was not always the case.   For a rather long time, we had no concept of sneakers or them actually being a fashionable piece of footwear. Long before our fascination with sneakers, we had the concept of sports shoes. They differed from the white canvas PT shoes in the sense that they had a chunkier silhouette and had more stylised, but ultimately functional design cues. © Pexels For a long time, âsports shoesâ were considered to be the shoes of the lower-middle-class working man. Not to sound too reductive, but for a long time, sports shoes were not a part of the arsenal of a man in a ârespectableâ position.   You would never see a manager or a senior clerk in the '80s wear a pair of sports shoes to the office. Instead, sports shoes were always a part of a young clerical office worker or someone who has just started with his first job.   Or, as Bollywood would have it, sports shoes or sneakers at this juncture, would be the choice of footwear for the well to do, but ultimately unemployed youth. Take Anil Kapoorâs portrayal of Sunil Sharma from the 1985 film, Saaheb.  View this post on InstagramâWe wonât be distracted by comparison if weâre captivated by purpose.â â¢â¢â¢â¢ ðð¼1984 , ðð¼2018.... ð®ð³ð®ð³ð®ð³ .... proof that India is ready and has been ready ... never underestimate and never settle for less. @nike @virgilabloh take note! ... @purevnv @bhanelove represent!! â¡ï¸â¡ï¸â¡ï¸A post shared by (@anandahuja)The transition between sneakers and sports shoes is murky at best. The same can be said for our fascination with sneakers, as in when exactly did we start thinking of sneakers, as not mere footwear, but a legitimate fashionable statement piece.
© Instagram/amandeepkaur87 To answer that question, we turned to Rahul Anand, the founder of Sneaker Stars India, one of the most widely followed sneaker pages on Instagram.   âGlobally, sneaker culture started developing around the 80s with basketball and hip hop playing a major role. In India however, both those factors didn't make that big an impact for it to translate into developing a sneaker culture. However, over the past couple of years, the two big drivers for the movement have been the Indian film industry and to some extent cricketers and sporting personalities. That's what we have clearly seen through our page as well. Fans are very keen to know what sneakers their favourite stars and idols wear and then that becomes the seed to make a lasting interest in sneakers,â he says. © Viral Bhayani So, where does Indiaâs sneaker culture stand today? Well, although we have finally arrived onto the scene, we are still a long away from being labelled as âthriving and kicking.â Says Rahul, âThe sneakerhead community in India is a small one at the moment but steadily growing.â
© Instagram/vegnonveg From the perspective of popular brands though, the sneaker culture here is still at its nascent stages. That is the reason why, most notable athleisure brands, be it Adidas or Nike have very limited drops of collectable pairs.  © Instagram/vegnonveg This is where outlets like Anand Ahujaâs VegNonVeg come into play. For Indian sneakerheads, outlets like VegNonVeg are fulfilling a very important gap. Says Rachit Arora, a first-year Economics student from the University of Delhi, âIt is not always possible for me to get my cousins to send me a pair of sneakers. Unfortunately, for a long time, brands brought the really good stuff (collectable, special edition sneakers) to India very late, if ever. Although this is changing, we still don't get as many pieces as we would ideally like to have. Availability is also a major issue at times. Thanks to multi-brand outlets like VegNonVeg, we have easy access to these pairs.â
© Instagram/vegnonveg Most celebrities can actually afford to buy these pieces, well before they show up in India. Sneaker makers too work closely with them, especially if they have been signed as their brand ambassadors. Celebrities would often be given special editions and one-off sneakers to build hype before a new drop is set to arrive.  Furthermore, most celebrities, even if they donât buy the sneakers that they are spotted wearing, have a very strong team of stylists and PR professionals who help their client to get their hands on some rare and zany pairs. © Instagram/varundvn For the common sneakerhead, this rarity and issue with availability have led to two bizarre situations. First, there is the entire segment of counterfeit sneakers or first copy sneakers. âWe have come across knock offs quite often. Some are really good knock offs and you really need to look close to find the differences,â says Rahul.  Interestingly, even celebrities have fallen for them. When we asked Rahul if he has ever seen celebrities wear knock offs, he said, âOh yes, we have seen quite a few, although, we wonât be taking names.â © Pexels The second situation that has come up, are sneaker trades, wherein people trade or sell off their sneakers at a markup. However, not all sneakers are âtradeable.â âSneaker trades work in case rare or "hyped" sneakers, the ones that are really difficult to get one's hands on. The other kind of sneakers that trade well are the ones that are not in production anymore,â says Rahul.
© Instagram/sneakertalkindia; Sneaker Talk India organise the DKX, Delhiâs largest sneakerhead meetup Depending on the sneaker that is being dealt in, the markups can be exorbitant at times. as Rachit says, âWe as a community often have meetups, where we exchange sneakers or buy and sell them.â   There have often been instances where a pair that would originally for about Rs 30,000-40,000 would resell for double or even triple the price. âOne guy who I often see in these meetups once bought a pair of Off White Vapormaxâs for over Rs 1.25 lakhs,â adds Rachit. © Nike This begs the question when people dole out an amount as big as that for a pair of shoes, are they not afraid that they may end up taking a pair of counterfeits? âWell, we have experts who inspect the pairs very closely to see if they are genuine or not before the transaction is made,â says Rachit, who considers himself as well the guy who bought the Vapormaxâs as quintessential Indian sneakerheads.
© Instagram/rannvijaysingha But how would one describe a sneakerhead today? We again turn to Rahul for answers. He says, âIt is hard to describe the average sneakerhead today because the segment is growing and evolving through various sections of society and people. For a while, Indian sneakerheads were looked at as people who would skateboard or dress a specific way or play ball etc. But now it has moved passed to encompass a larger audience. This could be attributed to the fashion trend that has evolved to be more functional and focuses on athleisure or street clothing which incorporate sneakers really well. But overall we are thrilled that it is reaching out to a wider audience!â
© Instagram/ishabhansali Clearly, Indiaâs sneaker revolution is just getting started. It will be rather interesting to see what is in store for us, and sneakers, and whether internationally-acclaimed brands will be able to capitalise on this rapidly expanding market. But one thing is certain - Indiaâs fascination with sneakers is here to stay for long.

Coronavirus: From ISKCON Temple To Mecca,10 Landmark Locations That Have Dramatically Changed

According to the Chinese governmentâs statements, the first Coronavirus patient - COVID-19âs âpatient zeroâ had contracted the virus on November 17th, 2019. Itâs been just over 120 days and close to 300,000 cases have been reported since then, and the global effect of this pandemic seems to have spread on a scale never seen before on Earth  © Reuters; A combination picture shows school children leaving the primary school of Omar El Mokhtar in Cairo, Egypt March 11, 2020. The school is closed following government efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus. From Times Square NYC to the skies of Mumbai, things are changing rapidly - and in ways that many of us wouldnât have expected.   With the economy finding new and unusual ways to keep chugging along, public streets seem emptier - very few are fancying vacations with air travel regulations in place.   Hereâs how the pandemic has switched things up, at key locations around the world:  1. The Johor-Singapore Causeway  The causeway between #Singapore and #Malaysia is one of of the world's busiest border crossings. This Doctor Used A Genius Hack To Help 9 Coronavirus Patients With One Ventilator & Hes Our Hero

These are hard times and all of us are feeling the tremors of a pandemic that is threatening life on Earth. As the Novel Coronavirus continues to make its steady climb and put more and more people at risk of losing a piece of their lives, doctors and health care professionals at the front lines are putting up a strong fight against the onslaught. © BCCL However, as the number of cases continues to rise, hospitals are slowly beginning to feel overwhelmed by the number of patients that need their attention. The situation seems especially bleak when we look at the global crunch in the number of available ventilators in hospitals needed to treat COVID-19 patients. © Getty Images But there is still some hope, thanks to outstanding medical practitioners like Dr Alain Gauthier who came up with the genius idea to use a DIY hack that would help nine Coronavirus patients avail the benefits of a ventilator from a single instrument! The news came to light when his colleague Dr Alan Grammond took to Twitter to share Dr Gauthierâs awesome idea. So in ten minutes the evil genius who is one of our GP anaesthetists (with a PhD in diaphragmatic mechanics) increased our rural hospitals ventilator capacity from one to nine!!! pic.twitter.com/yNmuCCDbWd â alan drummond (@alandrummond2) March 17, 2020 According to a Daily Mail report, Dr Gauthier is Canada-based anaesthetist who works at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital in Ontario. Reportedly, this idea struck the doctor when he came across YouTube videos created by two Detroit doctors in 2006. He has since been able to come up with a method to put these modified ventilators to use. © Twitter Dr Gauthier told Daily Mail that to make it work seamlessly, patients with similar lung capacity have to be paired together. Then with the help of multiple hoses attached a ventilator, it can be used to run several times its normal power. We personally think this life-saving hack could be a game-changer at this time of global crisis when so many people are in need of medical attention to fight off the coronavirus pandemic.   This man has yet again proved that doctors and health care professionals are the real saviours.

Nirbhaya Case Convicts' Lawyer Questions The Victim's Character & People Want Him Hanged Too

Justice delayed, but justice served. After seven years, the Nirbhaya rape case finally came to a befitting end as the four convicts - Pawan Gupta, Akshay Kumar Singh, Vinay Sharma, and Mukesh Kumar - were finally hanged for their brutal crimes yesterday morning. The entire country had been waiting for years for the culprits to get what they deserve and I'm pretty sure everyone was happy that the victim's family finally got justice after a long battle. But nope, the convicts' lawyer is still out there, spewing his venom and trying to malign the victim's character. In a video going viral on Twitter, he's seen angrily questioning the victim's mother about her daughter's whereabouts. Delhi 2012 gang-rape case: Convictâs lawyer questions the victim's mother about her daughter's whereabouts, faces flak. pic.twitter.com/RpdD1Xqacg â Hindustan Times (@htTweets) March 20, 2020 And of course, this isn't the first time. He's also been quoted by News-18 saying, "Should I not ask what the girl was doing with the boy so late at night? It is part of the evidence. I wasnât saying they had a brother-sister relationship or they were out to celebrate rakhi. All I said was that they are friends. Now in their society, boyfriend-girlfriend relation must be laudable, but not in the culture I come from." So, she deserved to get raped because she didn't fit your culture's standards? Or does your culture views being out in public, minding your own business a worse offence than rape and murder? Oh, the show didn't end there as he had some even worse comments. He had previously said, "If my daughter or sister engaged in pre-marital sex and disgraced herself and allowed herself to lose face and character by doing such things, I would most certainly take this sort of sister or daughter to my farmhouse, and in front of my entire family, I would put petrol on her and set her on fire." Are you saying that you're okay with murder if you daughter or sister engaged in consensual sex? AP Singh, I hope you know you're a monster. Such regressive thinking is why women are not safe in this country. Obviously, he got backlash for him comments, but the scary part is that there were a few people actually agreeing with him. Queue the 'shame' sequence from GoT. Shame on Ap singh. Just hear his statement. How can he be so inhuman about this case. He is so fucking shameless person after the 6 criminals of nirbhaya case. Being the lawyer of criminals he has also adapted the language of criminals. SHAME ON AP SINGH SHAME #NirbhayaJustice pic.twitter.com/AHhmWQFUNR â Pranab Raj Kumar (@iAmPranabRaj) March 20, 2020 I guess rape becomes legal at night. #APSingh is saying that "Ask nirbhaya's mother what she was doing till 11.30?"
Abbey fucking loser time has nothing to do with rape ,women even get raped during the day. And even if a girl is out at night Do men get the freedom to rape her? What bullshit is this #NirbhayaCase â Tae (@Tae68136336) March 19, 2020 Disgusting. Heâs a freak why are we giving him a platform.. gross disgusting man https://t.co/OxZPoeBamm â Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) March 20, 2020 I'm scared these kinds of people exist. Kyu rape 12 baje ke baad legal ho jata hai ? Ya phir 12 baje ke baad âcharacterâ gir jata hai ? Ya so called âcharacterlessâ hone par rape hamare indian âmardoâ ka right ban jata hai? â Indian (@Bilalah88862561) March 20, 2020 Hmm. It matters not why she was out, what she was doing or what she was wearing. She had every right to be out and about just like every Indian regardless of gender. Those men should have been bought up better to respect those rights. â Total Mumbaiite (@Mumbaikaralways) March 20, 2020 Guess who deserves to be punched in the face. How shamelessly Adv. AP Singh is trying to delay the death warrant of Nirbhaya Case Victim. When asked if Nirbhaya was his own daughter, he shamelessly tells that females of his family are given good upbringing.

Today he again murdered Nirbhaya mercilessly & ruthlessly. Shame. pic.twitter.com/QOCZCIybQT â Chaitaney Mor (@chaitaney) March 19, 2020 Please. Dear Police, please book this lawyer for encouraging rape on our daughters outside house post midnight. #APSingh#JusticeForNirbhaya#NirbhayaCase pic.twitter.com/CeXM06UH3x â Dinks â¡ (@daloveofpeople1) March 19, 2020 Always. Exact mentality and reasoning as that of the rapists-Obviously, punishment must be served for going against the rules!

Reiterates how they don't give a FLYING. FUCK. about our safety. Curfews and clothing constraints have always been about exercising control over women. https://t.co/YTXhp09Roo â Joann Elizabeth Panicker (@joann_panicker) March 20, 2020 Definitely needs to be debarred. Mankind is appalled at the statement of the defense lawyer AP Singh in Nirbhaya case. He is worse than convicts. His low level mind and thoughts are fully evident and should be debarred. https://t.co/3LDODY4xKD â Kamya Chaturvedi (@tok2kamya) March 21, 2020 A criminal in disguise. Like I said before only criminals defend such criminals,he is openly saying he will burn his daughter or sister if they engage in premarital sex which is not even illegal, that was his reason to defend rapists, should he be roaming around freely like this ? https://t.co/pY191xME9k â Rangoli Chandel (@Rangoli_A) March 20, 2020

Amid COVID-19 Outbreak, Sunil Chhetri Brings Football Fans Closer With No-Holds-Barred Twitter Q&A

Arguably one of the most popular sportspersons in the country, Sunil Chhetri, over the years, has not only become the face of Indian football, but also a befitting role model for the youth. Ageing like fine wine, the 34-year-old continues to be an astute leader on the field and remains a vital cog in the Indian set-up.
With 72 goals in 115 appearances for India, Chhetri is second on the list of active leading scorers in international football, ahead of Lionel Messi (70 goals) and only behind Cristiano Ronaldo (99 goals).  He was also named AIFF 'Player of the Year' on six occasions. He is also the winner of the Indian Super League (ISL) and the Super Cup. And, the fact that he has bestowed with Arjuna Award and Padma Shri gives a mere glimpse of his monumental achievements.  © Twitter/@FootballIndia While his astute leadership, striking abilities and vast experience make him an indispensable asset for Indian football, Chhetri's insights and knowledge of the sport is valued by fans and pundits alike.
Thus, when the Indian football captain decided to bare it all in a fun Question & Answer (Q&A) session on Twitter, everyone got excited.  Alright then guys, take a little break from your WFH routines and let's make the most of this social distancing with a Q&A session. Keep the questions fun and I'll try answering as many as I can. Fire away! â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020  Amid the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country, sportspersons and their fans don't have much to do with which probably explains Chhetri's decision, a blessing in disguise for all, to do an impromptu Q&A on Twitter.  Can You Beat Ronaldo & Messi?  I'm strictly assuming they're really bad at this. I think I could beat the both of them at it. https://t.co/4VMjuXW1z0 pic.twitter.com/9v8XdXGEXy â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020 In one of the most interesting questions in the session, a fan quizzed the Indian football captain with: "Excluding football, what could you beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi at?".  While Chhetri has defeated Messi as far as international goals scored by active players is concerned, the 35-year-old did have a tongue-in-cheek response for the curious fan. "I'm strictly assuming they're really bad at this. I think I could beat both of them at it," Chhetri responded to the query. Favourite IPL Team?   I'm a Bangalore boy ?? That should answer your question. https://t.co/XF0OZxcfwR â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020 Well, in a country like India, nothing is ever complete without the mention of cricket, at least once. And, the trend continued during Chhetri's Q&A session when a fan asked him to pick an IPL team he would like to play for. "If you get a chance to play cricket in which IPL franchise would you like to play???," the fan asked.  In reply, Chhetri dished out a sarcastic response by saying: "I'm a Bangalore boy Winking face That should answer your question". There's no surprise to see Chhetri's love for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chhetri and RCB skipper Virat Kohli share mutual respect and great admiration for one another. Cheat Meals?   I've lost the plot at the moment - chole-puri, samosas, vegan pizzas are being demolished at an alarming rate. https://t.co/VfCR1LtdeU pic.twitter.com/2W229rNAxV â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020 In the modern age, where fitness has become a way of life, Chhetri has proved to be a befitting role model for the country's youth. For a 35-year-old footballer, Chhetri has rarely been seen slacking or gasping for air on the pitch. And, he is perhaps the best example of what adequate sleep, proper diet and a relentless fitness regime can do to a person.  But, despite following a strict regime, Chhetri is, after all, a human being who loves and craves for food. Thus, when a fan asked him to disclose the food items he would have in his cheat meals, the Indian football skipper wasted no time in revealing: "I've lost the plot at the moment - chole-puri, samosas, vegan pizzas are being demolished at an alarming rate".  Routine Nowadays?  The wife and I have locked ourselves in for the last 5 days. We've given the cook and the house help days off, so the both of us are now sharing chores and making meals. https://t.co/ETx0Y3QLpP â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020 The fast-spreading Coronavirus has led to travel restrictions, quarantine camps and curfews across the globe. And, with the tally of positive cases continuing to rise by the day, the Indian government, too, has enforced preventive measures, urging the citizens to stay at home in a bid to contain the COVID-19 spread.
Given the situation at hand, a fan asked Chhetri what was his routine like these days? In response, Chhetri revealed: "The wife and I have locked ourselves in for the last 5 days. We've given the cook and the house help days off, so both of us are now sharing chores and making meals".  Secret Of Reversing Your Age?  Eating clean and sleeping adequately. Without the ball Flash MIGHT pip me. But with the ball... https://t.co/KnT7keWxoQ â Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) March 20, 2020  Despite being 35, Chhetri is undeniably one of the fittest sportspersons in the country. His rigorous training schedule and attention to details in his diet chart is not only admirable, but a much-needed inspiration for aspiring footballers. So much so, that Chhetri has often been seen giving Udanta Singh, his 23-year-old Team India mate, a run for his money in terms of speed.  Highlighting Udanta's case, a fan asked Chhetri to reveal the secret behind his unmatched fitness level and stamina. Responding to the query, Chhetri revealed that his teammate Udanta, considered one of the fastest players in Team India, can beat him without the ball. "Eating clean and sleeping adequately. Without the ball Flash MIGHT pip me. But with the ball," Chhetri responded.
