Minecraft Dungeons Is A Diablo-Like RPG That Makes The Genre Even More Interesting Than Before

Whether you are a fan of loot-and-level games like Diablo or not; Minecraft Dungeons brings a new flavour to the genre with its unique art-style and crafting mechanics from its lore.  Minecraft has always been a fan favourite for its unique sandbox type gameplay but never really was known for its combat mechanics. The ever-evolving game has come a long way since its original launch by Mojang and Notch; however, that doesnât mean the developers of the franchise cannot experiment with different types of games for the franchise.  If you are a Minecraft fan, you have probably gone to custom servers with custom games that used Minecraftâs core mechanics for a different style of game. In fact, Minecraft also happens to be the birthplace of Battle Royale games thanks to a mode called âSurvival Gamesâ. Having said that, Minecraft fans who have been wanting to play dungeon crawler, this game is your best bet as it doesnât get better than this.  © Mojang Just like the original game, you will be farming materials to battle it out with Zombies, Enderman and Creepers to build your favourite armours and weapons. If youâve been accustomed to the crafting recipes of Minecraft, your experience will come in handy here. You will use your knowledge of crafting recipes to build some awesome weapons and armour that will help you in progressing the story. While knowing the recipes is an advantage, the game does have a good tutorial for newcomers who can get used to the gameâs core mechanics.  © Mojang While the game does have great combat mechanics and a mediocre upgrading system, it does bring a fresh of breath air to the genre. Thereâs a decent amount of loot for everyone to farm however it does not have enough variety as Diablo or other dungeon crawling games.
The story is quite simple and grounded where a villager has turned evil and it is your job to stop him from achieving his goal. You will have to go through nine different missions to achieve that goal by hacking and slashing your way. For a dungeon crawler, the combat system feels quite addictive and intuitive even though we expected quite the opposite of the game.  While the game will not appease classic Minecraft fans where you get to build stuff, the game is directed more towards fans who want something different.  © Mojang While the story is quite simple, in typical Minecraft fashion, there isnât much to talk about here as the game doesnât really get you invested enough. Donât expect it to match up to Diablo because the source material is quite ambiguous when compared to Diabloâs lore. Due to this very reason, we struggled to care about any NPCs or did not have story-impacting decisions like the Telltale Minecraft games.
The story can be completed in six hours which is not really long for a dungeon crawler but the replayability factor is high as you can make different builds with each play-through. Even in the general market hub, we could not buy additional gear like arrows which made it quite annoying to progress further. We could, however, buy armour with different skins and gamble using our looted emeralds. We would have loved to see some more flexibility and options in the market hub but sadly there isnât enough here.  © Mojang If youâve played Minecraft in recent years, you will be happy to know that you can enchant your items and armour for additional buffs that will help you in combat. These enchantments help you in making a different kind of build, especially when playing with others. Different players can have different enchantments or builds to tackle foe which makes combinations an exciting feature to use when playing with friends. However, as you upgrade your gear, the monsterâs toughness also levels up so that the game doesnât become too easy and poses a challenge for the player.  © Mojang Coming to the bosses, these are pinnacle moments in the game that you really need to be prepared for. The bosses can be found in the middle of the map and you will need all of your resources to battle them. For example, you will end up using a lot of health potions to keep the fight going and want conserve arrows so that you donât have to them head-on. If you run out of arrows, you will have to kill them with melee attacks but that is not advisable since bosses can kill you in mere seconds. This is where character builds come in handy as you need someone who can basically heal other players.
The âElectrified Warhammerâ is the most important item one can use during these boss battles. âFlaming arrowsâ also deliver additional damage which should be paired with the Fox armour so that you can get away in tight situations. This is where the game shines, it gives players the flexibility to create important builds without being limited to a certain class.  The Final Say © Mojang When taking everything into a consideration, Minecraft Dungeons is an excellent hack and slash game with very little RPG mechanics. It doesnât have skill trees or complicated loot customisations. It really is meant for a casual player who wants to dip their toes into the genre and thatâs why we adore this game. Sure, we would love to see more lore and a story that we actually care about but the gameplay makes up for it.
The game is also quite polished for a genre that is known to have issues at launch. However, we do recommend checking out some Minecraft lore before getting started.  If you are looking for a co-op multiplayer game that needs some co-ordination and also appeals to a franchise youâre familiar with; Minecraft Dungeons is a great game to spend some hours during this lockdown season.

Forget Work From Home, Mark Zuckerberg Wants People To Jack Into VR For Work & It's Pretty Sick

The on-going COVID-19 pandemic has literally changed the way we work. Working from home or working from other remote locations have become the new normal. We're living in a very weird world where in-house meetings have turned into boring face-less Zoom calls.

Since nobody knows when it'll be completely safe to get back to work, we wonder what the next frontier of remote working will be? Well, Facebook thinks the answer lies in VR.
Facebook has outlined its vision for remote working with the help of some of its products. This vision for the "future of work and the next computing platform," details how the company is going to leverage its Workplace, Portal, and Oculus to support remote work.

The most eye-catching development, however, has got to be the "mixed reality workspace concept." There's an 8-second video showing what working in the mixed reality world would look like.  You can see a user working through an AR/VR headset while they drag a virtual window from off the side and move it between two virtual windows.   © Unsplash You can also see the person typing something on the keyword and the words appear on the web app in AR/VR. The video then ends with the user exiting the mixed reality world revealing nothing but a single monitor deskspace. That's just fascinating.

According to a Facebook spokesperson who spoke to the folks over at Input , it's indeed real footage. "This is real footage running on a prototype. We're always experimenting with future concepts using different hardware configurations as part of our proof-of-experience process," the spokesperson said. That being said, we still don't see ourselves working in an AR/VR workspace, at least in the near future. But given the current conditions, we won't be surprised to see more development in this space.  Source: Facebook

5 Seduction Songs In Bollywood Films That Are Too Cringey & Should Have Never Existed

We've all grown up watching Bollywood movies. A unique feature of Bollywood films that separates them from their international counterparts is multiple songs that are added to the narrative in the plotline. While sometimes, these songs are a delightful addition, other times, they're just a waste of space and one is left wondering why they were even made in the first place. A genre in these songs that is more often than not are wasteful is seduction songs on films. There are far too many of them and most of them don't make any sense.   So, here are 5 seduction songs in Bollywood that are too cringey and we wish they never existed:  1. 'Mein Maal Gaadi' From Andaz

"Ye maal gaadi tu dhakka kaga Dhakka kaga re dhakka kaga"

A song from Andaz, this song came out back in 1994 with the film. The film starred Karishma Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Raj Babbar, Shakti Kapoor. The music is produced by Bappi Lahiri. Maal Gaadi was used as sexual innuendo in the song. There is so much cringe in this song that only 90s kids will recognise instantly. We wonder why the censor board let this film be.
2. 'Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai' From Phata Poster Nikhla Hero

âHai tujhpe right mera, tu hai delight mera
Tera rasta jo roku, chaukne ka nahinâ

The lyrics of this song suggest that the person singing the song has a sense of entitlement considering he's willing to go to any length to get this girl, and this, he feels is a true marker of being a lover or being in love. Clearly, songwriters didn't think about how concepts like consent could be important to this dynamic. In response, the girl reciprocates, this is definitely is a cause for concern considering the problematic message the song is sending out to the audience. Unfortunately, this song is not the only one with problematic lyrics like these.

3. 'Jaaneman Aah' From Dishoom

"Jaaneman aah, jaaneman aah
Gale lag ja, jaaneman aah"

On a lighter note, any song with an intro like that is too cringe worthy to be considered a seductive song, we believe. But then again, this song is just representative of countless Bollywood seductive songs that honestly make no sense, lyrically. More often than not, they're just random words put together, sometimes even made-up words to that effect.

4. 'Tinku Jiya'  From Yamla Pagla Deewana

"Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya, Haan Tinku Jiya
Isak Ka Manjan Ghisey Hai Piya"

With 96M views on Youtube and counting, we don't understand how a song with actor Dharmendra flirting with a much younger woman along with his sons who are too eager to join him while he's at it became so likable. Not just the lyrics, this is a song with a video you definitely want to unsee right after watching it.

5. 'Chu Chu Chu - Kyun Sharmaye Kyu Ghabraye' From Cheetah

"lekin ye manva dole jab man ki chidya bole chu chu chun, chu chu chun, chu chu chun"

You probably can't listen to this song with your parents. This song is filled with sexual innuendos. If you haven't seen this song yet, we recommend you watch the video, stat!

Ajinkya Rahane Opens Up On Overcoming The Fear Of Speaking In English When Touring Abroad

The vice-captain of the Indian Test cricket team Ajinkya Rahane has become a vital part of the red-ball roster over the years. His presence in the middle-order normally brings a sense of calm to the skipper Virat Kohli who can put his faith in the Mumbaikar to shoulder the burden. Thatâs the kind of confidence and talent he brings to the table. View this post on Instagram#ThisDayThatYear Memories from the MCG tests, 2014 & 2018 series. Have always enjoyed playing there. The atmosphere was brilliant for the #BoxingDay test match.A post shared by (@ajinkyarahane)
However, the 31-year-old wasnât always this self-assured and there were two major reasons behind it. One was the fact that he was very shy since his childhood and two, he hesitated in conversing in English during his early years with the squad.
We got in touch with the cricketer to speak about his fear with the language, how he overcame it eventually and how he wants to help millions of Indians who are struggling in their daily lives due to the fact that they arenât comfortable speaking in English. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@ajinkyarahane)
âWhen I was a student at SV Joshi High School in Dombivli near Mumbai, I only used to play cricket and attending all the classes wasnât possible. Back then I was there, it was a Marathi-medium school and speaking in English wasnât a priority.â
âI remember my first tour to Dubai when I was 14-years-old for the U15 Asia Cup, and it was then that I realised that I had to learn the language if I wanted to be confident in front of international athletes.â View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@ajinkyarahane) âMy first U19 tour in New Zealand was also a big wake-up call for me. In India, with your teammates, you can talk to them in Hindi and you are fine but when you are travelling, Hindi wonât take you that far. From small things like ordering food and asking for directions to more important things like adding to your confidence and self-belief, learning the language played a big role in all of that,â Rahane said.

âDuring the first few years of my international cricketing career, I used to get a little shy and nervous when I wanted to ask a question to any foreign player or when I needed to know something about the pitch by the groundsman," he added. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@ajinkyarahane)
âWhenever I used to play a good match and it was my time to get interviewed, I always kept my answers short and tried to be done with the questions as quickly as possible because I didnât want to make a mistake,â Rahane opened up.
It is because of this reason that Rahane partnered with ELSA Corp which acts as a personal virtual pronunciation coach to help others get over the same problem more efficiently and quickly than the cricketer did himself.  View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@ajinkyarahane)
âI used to keep thinking about things like what if I made a mistake, what if I mispronounce a word, what will people think of me. ELSA can help you look after all that. It is just an app which looks after the way you speak, nobody is watching you or judging you. So even if you screw up, you wonât feel shy and will be able to work on your errors better,â he said.

7 HomePod Features That Make It One Of The Best Smart Speakers For Your Home

Apple recently made the HomePod available for Indian customers and we reviewed the smart speaker calling it the best out of the lot. While wireless speakers have become great over the years, not many can match up to the HomePodâs performance. Smart speakers are becoming more and more common in homes and for iPhone users, the HomePod is ideally the one to get. Being exclusive for iPhone/iPad users, it does come with a few tricks up its sleeve to make it worthy of purchase. Here are some of the best HomePod features you should know of before considering to purchase the smart speaker. 1. The HandOff Feature  © Unsplash_Omid Armin The biggest problem connecting to Bluetooth speakers is the long annoying process of getting it paired with your phone. However, with the HomePod, you can seamlessly transfer your iPhone or iPadâs audio to the HomePod by simply putting it next to it. It uses AirPlay instead of Bluetooth to stream audio from your device which makes it far easier to use than traditional Bluetooth speakers.
2. Play Any Audio From An Apple Device  © Unsplash_DaniCanibano Since the HomePod does not use Bluetooth for streaming content, you can use AirPlay from any Apple device that includes Macbooks, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Whether you are listening to live radio from TuneIn or prefer to use Spotify instead of Apple Music or like to watch videos on YouTube, you can simply select the output straight from the App or from the Control Center. For MacBook users, you can stream music, radio stations and podcasts from the iTunes app as it has native support for AirPlay.
3. Awesome Apple Music Support  © Unsplash_Omid Armin If you extensively use Apple Music, the HomePod is the perfect companion for you as you donât even need to use your phone to control the speaker. You can simply ask Siri to play your library or play one of your playlists. You can even ask for new recommendations based on your listening history. Apple Music is deeply integrated with the HomePod and it is the perfect device for the music streaming service.
4. Apple Podcasts  © Unsplash_Austin Distel You can play every podcast from Appleâs podcast directory including the ones you have subscribed to. Simply ask Siri to play a specific episode of a podcast or just play the latest episode. You can even play specific podcasts you have not subscribed to preview content before subscribing. For example, you can say âHey Siri, play the play the first episode of [podcast]â and can even ask Siri to subscribe to a particular podcast by saying âHey Siri, subscribe to this podcast.â
5. Do What Your Phone Does  © Unsplash_Korie You can use Siri to answer calls or send and receive text messages straight from the HomePod as long as you are on the same Wi-Fi network. You can even do facetime, group facetime and listen to voicemails if you have that feature enabled. Additionally, you can also transfer your call from the iPhone to the HomePod using the handoff feature.
6. Control Smart Home Devices  © Unsplash_Ilan Olivares If your smart devices have support for Apple HomeKit you can easily control all of those devices using Siri. You can manage these devices in the Home app on your phone and assign it to specific rooms. Once you have organised all of your smart devices, you can simply ask Siri to turn on/off lights or look at the security camera when needed.
7. Stereo Pair  © Reddit_Jenex500 Even though the HomePod sounds excellent by itself, you can set up the two HomePods for stereo output that will only improve your overall sound experience. The stereo setup is perfect for listening to music or watching TV shows on your iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and MacBook.

5 Times Nawazuddin Siddiqui Stole The Thunder From The Lead Actor In The Movie

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a gem that Bollywood has discovered and he has been able to create a place for himself in the industry. The audience loves him for the kind of roles he does and we are all impressed by his powerful screen presence. In his initial days in Bollywood, he has done many supporting roles in many films and has been able to outshine the lead by his extraordinary acting. He is a great actor and the audience watches his movies just for him. Here is a list of films where Nawazuddinâs performance was more memorable than or as impactful as the lead actor- 1. Badlapur We all loved Nawazzudin Siddiqui in Badlapur. Even though the film stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role, Nawaz was able to steal the limelight from him by his versatile acting and proved that he is a versatile actor. He has also proved that he has great comic timing and his dialogues in the film have only helped us support the argument.  2. Paan Singh Tomar The film is a biography based on the life story of the athlete Paan Singh Tomar. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role, and Mahie Gill- Nawazzudin Siddiqui has played an important role in the film. His screen presence in the film made him at par with Irrfan Khan and the audience loved him in the film as much as they loved Irrfan Khan. Paan Singh Tomar is a biographical film based on the true story of the athlete Paan Singh Tomar. A soldier in the Indian Army, he won a gold medal at the Indian National Games but was forced to become a rebel against the system. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film casts Irrfan Khan, Mahie Gill, Vipin Sharma, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. 3. Gangs of Wasseypur Nawazuddin Siddiqui rocked his role in the film. People have seen him grow from Gangs of Wasseypur -Part 1 to Part 2. We cannot imagine someone else playing the role of âFaisalâ in the film. His chemistry with Huma Quereshi is also an experience that his fans shouldnât wish. 4. Talaash Nawazzudin Siddiqui was awarded Asian Film Award for best supporting actor for this film. And we all know that he rocked it! The movie starred Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles and Nawazzudin Siddiqui in the supporting role. He leveraged the role and proved that he can shine in any role that is given to him. 5. The Lunch Box  Nawazzudin Siddiqui bagged the FilmFare Award for best-supporting actor and he won many other awards for his performance in the film. The film was already a treasure to watch with Irrfan Khan in the lead and Nawaz only made the film better with his acting.

Oscar Worthy Indian Short Films Which Are Better Than Mainstream Bollywood Films

As much as we love the Indian film industry, there are times when we are left very, very disappointed by the kind of films that it makes. Bollywood, especially, is a repeat offender of making some of the most cringiest, âwhat the hell is thisâ type of films. This comes in spite of having a budget of tens of crores, and some grade-A talent. © Fox Star Studios Believe it or not, our short filmmakers, however, are on a different playing field. Not only do they make some really great short films, they do that while working with money that equates to peanuts. So good are some of our short films that they have broken viewership records on YouTube.  © YouTube/LargeShortFilms 2016âs Chutney, for example, has over 128 Million views on YouTube. Had this been launched on the big screen, youâre easily looking at a box office collection of over Rs 100 crores, easily. Not bad for a film that was made under Rs 10 lakhs. Not bad at all © YouTube/LargeShortFilms Here are 5 recent short films that truly deserve an Oscar, and from which our feature filmmakers should be taking lessons from:
1. Adheen Directed by Yash Verma, and produced by Large Short Films, Adheen is a beautifully conceptualised film. Spoiler alert, there is a surprise twist towards the end. However, it has been eased in so seamlessly, that it does not feel jarring at all. The beauty of the film lies in the issues it focuses on - fracturing familial relationships, exactly how much can a person handle or rather bear with their loved ones. If not for all these things, then watch it for Sanjay Mishraâs performance. 2. Hickey Directed by Divyansh Pandit, Hickey does not have any notable names associated with itself, and neither does it tackle some deeply rooted social angst. Rather it is a pretty well made feel-good kind of short film, that one will find very relatable. And yes, it revolves around exactly what youâre thinking - the connotations of a hickey, and what it entails. 3. Bebaak Okay, this is a really powerful short film. There are amazing performances, the plot of the film is very nuanced and tightly constructed, and it deals with some of the most pertinent questions that we as individuals have from our society - mainly about our position in it, and our aspirations, and how do we strike a balance between the two. There are some really powerful performances from Nawazzuddin Siddiqui and Vipin Sharma. BTW, it won a Filmfare for the best short film(Fiction).  4. Devi There simply are no words to describe just how powerful and how well throughout Priyanka Banerjeeâs Devi is. We wonât get into the details of the plot; we suggest you watch the film for that, but let us remind you, you simply cannot afford to miss this one. What we can tell you, is that the performances that we get from Kajol, Shruti Hassan, and Neha Dhupia, for that matter, is absolutely stunning. 5. Budh (Awakening) Budh may come across as very esoteric, and a film that is very societal in its approach. While that interpretation definitely holds true, it also works wonderfully when you focus on an individual. Just like Bebaak, Budh also asks some uneasy, but equally important questions about oneâs standing in the society, and what affect your gender has on your standing. Do give it a watch. After watching these, wouldnât you agree that some of our feature filmmakers need to go back to filmmaking school?

5 Jaw-Dropping Motorcycles Owned By The Undertaker That Prove He's A Real-Life 'American Badass'

For almost three decades, Mark William Callaway aka The Undertaker has hovered over the WWE multiverse like a demonic shadow, spelling out doom for countless souls who dared to cross paths with him. First introduced at the Survivor Series in 1990, 'The Phenom' made his intentions pretty clear after taking on Hulk Hogan, the-then 'big dog' of WWE. Since then, it became quite evident that no was too big or safe from the Deadman's gloved grip. A multiple WWE and World Heavyweight champion, The Undertaker is also a six-time tag team titleholder and a Royal Rumble winner in 2007. To top it all, the Deadman boasts of a 21-match unbeaten streak at WrestleMania, often regarded as one of the most notable achievements by a WWE wrestler. Needless to say, the Texas wrestler has won everything there is in the wrestling entertainment business. © Pinterest For someone who has successfully pulled off the Deadman character in WWE, it's quite fitting to see The Undertaker possessing this one-of-a-kind Hearse Funeral Chopper from motorcycle giant Harley-Davidson. The bike was used by the Texas-born wrestler during SummerSlam in 1992 when he made a grand entrance on the back of the hearse.
Part motorcycle, part hearse and part chariot with five wheels, there's not a better ride that can possibly do justice to everything The Undertaker represents. 3. 5 Facts About Sundarbans Which Show What A Majestic Bio-Diversity Marvel Cyclone Amphan Has Ravaged

Widely known as the largest mangrove forest in the world, the Sundarbans form the very last point of contact between the Ganges river and the mainland of both Bangladesh and India. Striking many parts of the Bay of Bengal with impunity, cyclone Amphan left a wake of death and destruction - and the Sundarbans were no exception to this. Along with the cycloneâs approximated $13 billion damages was an unprecedented amount of harm to the Sundarbansâ ecosystems - some of which have featured in recorded history for nearly two thousand years. Here are 5 aspects of the legendary forest that need to be preserved through such debilitating natural disasters: 1. Featured Across Ancient History © wikimedia While the name âSundarbansâ translates from Bengali to âbeautiful forestâ, the forests have featured in the writings and recordings of historians from various cultures. The earliest known reference brings up a rich and powerful Assamese merchant, Chand Sagar, who colonised the area back in AD 200-300. Several centuries later, the land would come under the control of the Mughals - when Akbarâs historians would write of dacoits hiding amidst the forestâs mangroves.
2. UNESCO World Heritage Site © NASA The forestâs 10,000 sq. km were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, joining the ranks of Indiaâs 38 listed areas, such as the city of Jaipur, the Taj Mahal and colonial art-deco buildings of South Mumbai.
3. The Local Population © Reuters Fertile and home to millions of agriculturists, the Sundarbans happen to be one of the most populated forested regions in the world, with 4.5 million inhabitants. This is true especially on the Bangladeshi side, where their activities contribute the lionâs share of forest produce for the whole country. Some of these villagers also have unique and interesting ways of making a living in such tough conditions - such as using otters to help them guide fish into nets, and harvesting honey from the hives of giant Asian honey bees.
4. The Mangroves © Wikimedia The characteristic tree of the forest is the sundari, after which the forest is named - also known as the looking-glass mangrove in English. These trees are a landmark feature of the entire region, and aside from giving the forest its own unique beauty, also help protect the quality of soil in the region, while providing the forest a defence against seasonal floods that strike every monsoon.
5. An Incredible Display of Wildlife © Reuters The Sundarbans provides a unique ecosystem and a rich wildlife habitat. According to 2015 estimates, the forests were home to around 150 royal bengal tigers, which are infamous for their attacks on local villages, resulting in around 50 human deaths each year. It isnât just all tigers though - the forests are also home to their prey the chital deer and wild pigs, as well as their distant cousin, the fishing cat.
All of these stunning examples of natural beauty and culture have been hit hard by the Amphan cyclone - you can look towards a comprehensive list of donations here.

Looks Like The MCU Is The New 'Sooryavansham' Because Marvel Movies Are On TV All The Damn Time

Saying Marvel movies are great is a big understatement; the movies are so f*cking amazing and we're entertained by them no matter how many times we've watched it. Any Marvel fan can watch the Avengers: Endgame final battle hundreds and thousands of times without getting bored, it's a fact. But honestly, enough is enough. If you notice, anytime you switch on your TV, at least one Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is airing. I've seen it happen every single day for about a month, it's so often that it's a joke between me and my brother now. Go on, check right now, there's a 90% chance that an MCU movie is on, bonus points if it's Endgame.
© Marvel Remember Sooryavansham? It's a movie none of us ever actually went out of our way to watch, but we've all seen it multiple times. Why? Because it was always playing on TV, it aired so often that it became a meme, and people would joke every year about how after IPL is over, Set Max can continue with Sooryavansham again.
© RVCJ
Now, Marvel has become the new Sooryavansham, tbh. There have been so many days where you start off with maybe an Iron Man in the morning, then there's the OG Avengers for an afternoon screening, Endgame in Hindi takes on the evening show, and to finish it all off, a good old Endgame (again) for a late-night show. (It looks like I made this up, but this has legit happened on multiple occasions in just this week)
© Marvel I'm one of the biggest Marvel fans out there, but even I'm saying that there are other movies as well. Please just once in a while air those, people will love it. Yes, we love seeing Avengers Assemble, but limits are being tested now.
© Marvel
But, still that happens, I'm pretty sure no one minds the Marvel reruns that much, even if it has become the new Sooryavansham.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

'Betaal' Cast Gives 5 Reasons To Watch The Zombie Series & Now It's On Top Of Our Binge-Watch List

Back in 2018, showrunner Patrick Graham released Indiaâs second-ever Netflix original in the form of Radhika Apte-helmed Ghoul. In just two years, that tally has risen to a roster of nearly 20 productions - and today, weâre returning to the platformâs desi roots with another one of Grahamâs dark, eerie and atmospheric horror thrillers - Betaal. Pitting a company of modern-day soldiers against the threat of a British Raj regiment from beyond the grave, thereâs plenty to unpack across the show. With horrors, both psychological and supernatural bubbling underneath, we sat with lead actors Viineet Kumar and Ahana Kumra to shed some light on the mystery behind Betaalâs terrifying story, and why we all should be watching the show this long weekend. 1. The Cast © Netflix âIâve always wanted to share screen-space with these people,â shares Aahana, reminiscing about the varied backgrounds and immense wealth of acting talent present on the show. From stalwarts such as Suchitra Pillai and especially Jitendra Joshi (who has shared theatre stages with Aahana), playing the lead antagonist - a stark contrast to his much-loved performance as Katekar from 2018âs Sacred Games.
Viineet, who helms the show as troubled counter-insurgency officer Vikram ans is caught battling his own dark past as the supernatural threat comes to surface. He describes the cast as âfreshâ, highlighting how itâs the first time theyâve come together to work on a project. âThe training we received before the shoot was very intense. We had to learn how to move in a formation just as an army squad does, handle weapons and act in full army gear throughout the show to maintain realism. Eventually, we began to feel like a squad ourselves!â 2. Zombies! © Netflix While zombies did make an appearance in 2013âs Go Goa Gone, they provided more comic relief than actual thrills - and when it comes to bringing the undead to life onscreen, Betaal sure didnât pull any punches.
âThis was one of the things that got me really excited for this film,â admits Viineet. âThe premise of a two-century-old redcoat army from the British returning to attack modern CIPD soldiers - something that they have never been trained for. This taps into a fear of the unknown - the same kind of fear that we all have when it comes to, for example, the COVID-19 menace we all face today - an invisible threat we canât yet understand.â 3. Grey Lines In The Armed Forces © Netflix With great power comes great responsibility - and when it comes to quashing out common people in the name of development, armed forces around the world havenât had the best record - a moral dilemma that the show boldly reflects in both its overarching story and its characters.
âPatrick [Graham] really likes to paint his world with this disillusion that we live in, that everything is alright,â points out Aahana. âHe wanted to introduce a comment on the state of the world we live in, and itâs right to not shy away from it, like when the CIPD officers evacuate villagers from their homes. I come from a family of officers myself - and thereâs a lot of times when my mother, who was in the police - she may not agree with what the government is saying or what she has to do, but when youâre on the ground on duty, in your uniform - you have to follow orders, or youâll be court-marshalled. This can be a dilemma for any soldier as well, and in this film when they face a supernatural threat, the stakes are even higher.â 4. Terrifyingly Real Special Effects © Netflix Gruesome, gory and downright visceral - Betaal doesnât shy away from getting down and dirty when it comes to a horror flick, and part of this reflects in the incredible prosthetics and special effects work. âI had prosthetics in the shoot,â recalls Aahana - whose character wears a mean scar, telling a story all of its own. âI remember sitting in makeup for two hours every day, along with the performers who are masked and playing the zombies all through the shoot - thereâs a lot that goes into making the show as believable as possible.â
âI really think that this is Indiaâs fitting answer,â adds Viineet, âto a global arena that has not seen something of this calibre come out of India - having Red Chillies VFX on board as well brings out something that the world just hasnât seen yet in the horror-thriller space. 5. An Atmosphere To Die For © Netflix Grahamâs Ghoul, in its attempt to capture the essence of desolate interrogation camps, was shot in a âleaky, damp, and horrible smelling place with no sunlightâ, in the words of its lead, Radhika Apte. This time around, things werenât quite so physically uncomfortable for the cast - though the locations were little short of terrifying.
âIt used to be so scary to shoot in that place!â exclaimed Aahana, reminiscing about one of the locations in nearby Khandala, which she calls âthe haunted houseâ. âPatrickâs team along with the production designers have made the sets so incredibly believable that humko sacchi phat gayi after arriving!â âThe Betaal mountain thatâs showcased in this series,â adds Viineet, âwas shot deep in the interiors of Maharashtra. The production designers found a very unique location to capture this remote, isolated effect - where the crew prepared a small village dwelling where the story begins to unfold. From there, to the jungles, you see our characters explore the massive, imposing tunnels we found in Igatpuri - yeh sab kaafi mazedaar tha when it came to picturising the shoots themselves.â Catch Viineet and Aahana as Commander Sirohi and Deputy Commander Ahluwalia in Betaal, releasing on Netflix this Sunday, 24th May.

Aged 74, Vince McMahon's 'Beast' Workout & Jaw-Dropping Physique Is Putting Young Guns To Shame

Whether you're a wrestling fan or not, love WWE or hate it, Vince McMahon is a name you just can't overlook.  Founding the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1980, McMahon has come a long way to become the pioneer of the professional wrestling revolution in the United States. Today, he runs one of the biggest and most lucrative professional wrestling entertainment companies on the planet and remains one of the most important figures in the industry. Learning the tools of the trade from his father, McMahon has carved his own niche on the back of his impeccable acumen which, in turn, allowed him to take professional wrestling to a whole new level. From creating fan-favourite characters, intense and gripping storylines to even stepping into the ring himself, McMahon has done everything it takes to be in the position he finds himself in today. Often labelled as the most ruthless and hardest-working businessman in the world, McMahon isn't just a corporate hack who dons a suit and a tie, sits behind a desk and barks orders to his employees, in fact, the man understands wrestling and shares a passion for bodybuilding which explains why he went on to become so successful. © Twitter/@muscle_fitness Numerous WWE stars, over the years, have confessed to McMahon's admiration for fitness and bodybuilding. His own son-in-law, Triple H, last year, revealed what it's like to be around McMahon. "(Vince) has the most incredible work ethic of any person I have ever seen. It's impossible to hang with him on a long term basis. It's crazy: he still trains every day, still does everything but he's hands-on, on so many things," Triple H told Daily Star.
Which Irish club did Roy Keane make his debut with? How many Eurovision titles have Ireland won?

We gave @WWESheamus the ultimate Irish general knowledge quiz. pic.twitter.com/oLkpeiR3in â JOE (@JOE_co_uk) April 27, 2020 While Triple H feels it's impossible to hang out with his father-in-law, Seamus called his WWE boss "a machine". "The guyâs a machine, mate. Iâve heard stories of him squatting nearly 700 pounds, which I canât do. I donât think Iâve ever been able to squat 700 pounds! Heâs insane in the gym, heâll train sometimes at two oâclock in the morning. Heâs someone I think I would love to have as my 100th episode of Celtic Warrior Workouts," Seamus told Joe last month. © Twitter/@WWE But, the most famous story about McMahon's passion for fitness is penned by Chris Jericho in his book No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling but Succeeded in Life. âThereâs nothing that he would ask you to do that he wouldnât do himself. A great example is we were in Orlando doing a show, I had to do press in New York early in the morning. He had me come on his private jet, we flew back from Orlando to New York, had some drinks, listened to some tunes, had a great time, landed at 4:30, both drunk.
"He goes, âWhat are you doing?â [I say] Iâm going home to pass out because I had to get up at 6:30 for press. He goes, âIâm going to the gym, come with me.â Iâm like, âIâm not going to the gym at 4:30, whatâs wrong with you?â Heâs like, âI have to go to work.â (I say) âSo do I.â I get a text when I wake up the next morning at 6:30, super-hungover (and) feeling like crap, from my 72-year-old boss whoâs like bench-pressing 275 pounds giving me the finger and this is 6 in the morning or whatever. Thatâs him, he just works, and it rubs off on you.â Well, many would say that, given the fact that McMahon is their boss, the WWE stars ought to shower plaudits on the old man. But, are the statements really true? If so, then what does a 74-year-old man like McMahon, father of two and grandfather of five children, really do in the gym? Here's the answer. The WWE CEO, depending on his busy schedule, trains four days a week, focusing on each body part once a week. He alternates between 'Heavy' and 'Not-So-Heavy' days for each body part. He trains calves every third day and abs twice a week. According to Rippeder, here's what McMahon's daily workout routine looks like: McMahon begins the week with a focus on his chest and triceps. On his heavy day, his exercises include barbell bench press (5 sets), hammer-strength incline press (3 sets), pec-deck flye machine (3 sets), bench press (3 sets), dip machine (3) and cable pressdown (3 sets). On a not-so-heavy day, he does incline dumbbell press (5 sets), incline smith-machine press (4 sets), barbell bench press (4 sets), overhead extension (3 sets), cable pressdown (3 sets) and dumbbell kickback (3 sets). © Twitter/@WWE On the second day, he prioritises back and biceps. His heavy day would include exercises like lat pulldown (4 sets), bent-over row (4 sets), seated cable row (3 sets), barbell curl (3 sets), EZ-bar preacher curl (3 sets) and standing dumbbell curl (3 sets). Age really doesnât have anything to do with it," he told M&F.  Five years later, given his workout, it seems McMahon is still making gains and putting young guns to shame at the age of 74.

10 Important Steps To Avoid Binge Eating & Stay Away From Weight Gain During Lockdown

With every single day under lockdown, more and more people are falling prey to binge eating, and sacrificing all the hard work they did in bringing their weight under control through dieting, exercising and saying ânoâ to unhealthy habits. A cup of ice cream here and a batch of homemade cookies there and thatâs it, you wonât even realise how far you have come before the button of your favourite pair of jeans donât fit you anymore and sadness surrounds you once again. © iStock Fortunately, you still have the time to pull yourself together, realise what you are doing wrong and follow these 10 steps in order to avoid binge-eating and go back to healthy living:
1. Stick To A 4-Meal Plan © iStock People often mistake restlessness with being hungry and start eating whatever they lay their eyes on. Stick to the meals pattern of four major meals- breakfast, lunch, evening snack, and dinner and decide a specific time for each meal.
2. Decide A Weekly MenuThe idea is simple, if you know what you will be eating for the next seven days given the resources you already have, you wonât go out of your way to binge on anything else. Deciding a menu is a great way to do so. 3. Drink Liquids Between Meals © iStock Liquids such as buttermilk, lemon juice, milk, soup, fruit infused water, ginger and lemon decoction, sabja in lemon juice, etc. can be great fillers which prevent you from feeling hungry after one of the four meals They are also low in calories so you wouldnât have to worry about that.
4. Say No To Sugary DrinksAvoid sugary beverages like syrups, fruit juice, carbonated beverages, etc. 5. Snack On Low-Calorie Foods © iStock Cucumber with yogurt dip, apple with peanut Butter, carrot with dip, dark chocolate 1-2pcs, fruit yogurt and sukha bhel are also some very good alternatives to some of the rather unhealthy snacking decisions such as a bowl of instant noodles or sweets and can prevent, if not reverse, you gaining weight.
6. Exercise Once A DayNo matter how many times youâd have heard this, one canât stress this point enough. Move, jump, walk a few kilometers during the day. Make sure to stay active by incorporating a workout as a part of your daily routine to maintain energy expenditure. 7. Include Fiber In Your Meals © iStock If you want to feel full for longer, fibrous foods are your best friends. Incorporating fiber in your meals in the form of vegetables and salads will also help you look after other health issues such as your cholesterol level, maintaining blood glucose levels, and increase in satiety. It also helps tackle constipation.
8. Say No To Processed Foods © iStock Who doesnât like to munch on a bag of masala chips while working on a project or watching your favourite TV show? But if you are in the middle of a struggle to lose weight, you donât have a bigger enemy than processed food. Biscuits, chips, chiwda, cup noodles -- try to resist them. Instead stock up on foods like ready to make idli and dosa batter, or opt for quick snacks like omelets, seviya upma, oats, moong dal dosa, etc. that have nutritional value.
9. Self-Prep Your SnacksMaking your own snack can have a lot of positive impact on you and your diet. Since you will be cooking them all by yourself, you will learn to appreciate the food better, take your time eating it and try to stay away from cooking it more often (the last part is a personal opinion because I am a horrible cook).  10. Have Healthy Backup Snacks © iStock Keep some backup snack options like sprouts, nuts, peanuts, dried fruits, roasted Chana etc. to snack, as a healthy alternative to deep fried or sugary food items like Wafers, Biscuits, etc.
