Deepika & Ranveer Singh Were Offered The Role Of Ranbir's Parents In Brahmastra

Remember how weird the news of Abhishek Bachchan playing Amitabh Bachchan's father in the movie Paa was? Well, I can't decide if the idea of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing none other than Ranbir Kapoor's parents in the upcoming movie Brahmastra is more, less, or equally weird, to be honest.
Apparently, we almost had this weird real-life ex to reel-life mommy situation happening for real and it just seems extremely uncomfortable for all parties involved. Imagine playing your ex-boyfriend's mother? And, imagine playing your wife's ex-boyfriend's father? Yikes. I mean, okay, maybe it wouldn't be that weird, they're all professionals, but just hearing that Ranveer and Deepika will play Ranbir's parents is just so unexpected, it's hard to wrap your head around it. People have some interesting reactions. Hey Ranbir, whoâs your daddy ?? https://t.co/onnrEPfq1u â Malhari (@wahoowon) February 21, 2020 People are very suspicious about the news, though.

After Rhinos, Now Giraffes Are Going Extinct & We Wonder Who Is On The Human Hit-List Next

If there is one thing about humans which can be declared a universal fact, it has to be our greed and selfishness. Over the many years of our existence on this beautiful abundant planet, or should we say once-abundant planet, humans have managed to rob and massacre a gazillion precious things that made Earth the blessing that it is.
© Pexels From almost a million giraffes that lived in sub-Saharan Africa only a hundred years ago, the number has dropped down to only about a lakh remaining giraffes in Africa now.
Whatâs even sadder is that out of the 28 African countries where these tall beauties were found, seven countries have already declared them as âextinctâ. These seven countries are - Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria and Senegal.
© Pexels At the on-going Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, experts shared the sad detail and called for immediate and aggressive action for the conservation of the remaining giraffes.
This is yet another reminder that we humans have only learnt how to take from others around us - from the environment, from the animals, from Earthâs resources, we have only learnt to devour anything and everything that comes our way.
© Pexels We have taken away natural habitats, fresh air and a million precious lives of various living creatures who no longer breathe on the face of this earth. And in turn, given this beautiful planet a live time-bomb called âclimate changeâ which will perhaps be the end of us all.
With the extensive exploitation that we have exposed our dear Earth to, it is quickly losing its perfection to house all of us together in harmonious coexistence.

4 Ensemble Ideas To Steal From Jassie Gill's Closet For The Ultimate Normcore Wardrobe

Man oh man, does Jassie Gill look dapper on MensXP's February Cover. Apart from the stunning and poised personality that he has, the factor that immensely added a nuanced layer to the aesthetic of the cover was the rather dope set of ensembles that we shot him in. View this post on Instagram Nikle Currant, for our mid-month February cover star, the Gabbroo, @jassie.gill! Despite coming from an industry that flaunts wealth and fame, Punjabi-Popstar Jassie Gill retains most of the small-town charm and grit that propelled him to the peak of the genre and into the Bollywood spotlight. Read our cover story for more! . . . Photographer: @im.freexin Style Editor: @siddharth93batra Assistant Stylist: @aditadutta DOP: @117amitsingh Make-Up: @makeup.by.jasneet Hair: @alikhanhairstylist Junior Stylist: @shivikapaliwal . . . Shirt/Co-ords: @hoswearofficial from @mensxpshop Socks: @balenziasocks Eyewear: @rayban @luxottica A post shared by MENSXP (@mensxpofficial) on Feb 17, 2020 at 11:42pm PST With normcore as the guiding principle behind the sartorial aesthetics for the shoot, curating a wardrobe that would be on par with Jassie's personal style was certainly not easy. However, given that MensXP means all things style, we took it up as a challenge and got to work. © MensXP In case you too are looking to reinvent your personal style, or are thinking of expanding your wardrobe with some zany and dope ensembles and be a bonafide fashion icon, here's what Jassie wore for our cover. The 'Always Ready To Party' Look © MensXP Who said night suits can only be worn to bed, or a steamy night stay? Amp up your style and turn heads at the next party you go to, with a basic, but dapper night suit. Like this striped white & navy blue one, from Dandelion. __ECOMPRODUCT__276__ Also, add a bit of flair to your suit, by pairing it with a contemporary jacket, such as this yellow banana crepe jacket, from Two Point Two. __ECOMPRODUCT__22__ The 'Seasoned Player' Look © MensXP Playing around with prints, patterns and colours may seem challenging, especially if you want to keep things classy and not go completely berserk. For your base, always keep things simple and go for a classic and basic t-shirt, like this one from MensXP Basics. __ECOMPRODUCT__277__
To off-set the sombreness of the t-shirt, pair it with this zany neon green relaxed fit cargos from HOS. After all, you can't really go wrong with neon. __ECOMPRODUCT__278__ Finally, throw in a quirky jacket, that sits in perfect harmony with your ensemble. A printed one, like this black & white semi crepe jacket from Two Point Two, is our go-to piece. __ECOMPRODUCT__279__
The 'Summer Is My Season' Look © MensXP Say what you will, dressing up with panache in summers has its advantages. You get to play around with a plethora of colours, which simply make you look super dope, and you get to play with silhouettes that enunciate your physique. The yellow & red striped slim fit shirt from True Rug is a dapper way to strengthen the base of your outfit. Plus, as a standalone piece, it surely has the ability to turn heads. __ECOMPRODUCT__264__ To add a bit of nuance as well as character to your outfit, pair the yellow shirt with a darker, but playful one, like we did, using the Estetico - a black printed cotton shirt from Prime Porter, that adds a ton of character to any ensemble that it is a part of. __ECOMPRODUCT__280__ Finally, for your lowers, go for a subtle and simple pair of trousers, like this pair of white, handwoven jute cotton trousers, which helps keep things normal and breezy. __ECOMPRODUCT__281__ The 'Coqueish Savant' Look © MensXP Certain men just have an air of confidence and an inherently natural sense of style. With Jassie being one such man, there, of course, had to be one ensemble that oozed style and panache.  For this flirtatiously cool, dapper savant appeal that we wanted to recreate for Jassie, we decided to dress him, with this dopey looking, blue floral printed oversized shirt from HOS. __ECOMPRODUCT__282__ This was paired with a co-ord set of off-white corduroy jacket and trousers, again from HOS, which, when layered with the blue shirt, blended seamlessly to create one heck of an ensemble.  The blue oversized pockets on the jacket, give it a very technical appeal, whereas the silhouette and the colour of the jacket, help in accentuating the groovy nature and zaniness of the shirt. __ECOMPRODUCT__283__ __ECOMPRODUCT__284__ © MensXP Jassie Gill surely knows how to carry off these pieces with elegance and a playful panache. Seriously guys, take extensive notes from this one, and you'll be sorted for the summer.

This Father Giving His Blind Son Live Football Commentary Proves Why Our Dads Deserve More Credit

If I gave you 10 seconds to think of all the times your parents went out of their way to make your day better, how many such incidents do you reckon will come to your mind? Five, thirteen, twenty-eight odd times or would it be seventy times too many to count?
Take 10 seconds and just think about it.
© Dharma Productions Chances are many of you could think of a hundred different occasions when your parents found the most innovative ways to make your day better, or your life significantly easier. You see, thatâs how most parents are wired, they wonât think twice before fulfilling our most earnest desires, even if it might put them in a spot.

And hereâs what Sebastianâs father did to make sure his son doesnât miss a thing.
He relayed every move that happened on-ground to his son by way of a personal commentary only meant for Sebastian!
Que la discapacidad o la enfermedad no se convierta en un límite para tu vida ðð» Pdt - Pedi permiso al señor para grabarlo y hacer pública su acción â¤ï¸ #JuniorEsMiPasionA post shared by (@junioresmipasion) In a video that was recorded during the match at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla, we can see the father-son duo sporting Junior FC jerseys, as Sebastian gets live minute-by-minute details of the on-going game.
© Instagram The video which was shared on the teamâs fan page âJunior Es Mi Pasionâ has since gone viral and came with a caption which read, âSebastian is a beautiful child with visual impairment, but this does not prevent him from feeling passion for his team, his father with dedication and commitment transmits each of the plays.â
Itâs amazing isnât it, how parents would do anything to put a smile on our faces, and ensure that we donât miss out on the good things in life?

Vicky Kaushal Shines In Bhoot Which Is Spooky But Fails To Send Shivers Down The Spine

I have always been reluctant when it comes to watching horror movies because I am convinced that eventually, the eerie and spooky characters I see on the screen will soon greet me in my dreams. Some find it a thrilling experience though, while some, like me, find it completely daunting to see horror movies. Even while driving down to the theatre to watch Vicky Kaushalâs Bhoot Part 1 The Haunted Ship, I couldnât stop wondering if it would be scary enough or not.
View this post on InstagramFear turning my world upside down...literally. #BhootScares #Bhoot #TheHauntedShip in cinemas this Friday, book your tickets now! @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumipednekar @bhanu.singh.91 @ShashankKhaitan @somenmishra @dharmamovies @zeestudiosofficial @zeemusiccompanyA post shared by (@vickykaushal09) And after watching the film, I can certainly say that it wonât send chills down your spine but would definitely spook you at times. For Bollywood, the ingredients of a horror movie are pretty simple - horrifying makeup for the âbhootâ and jump scares.
View this post on InstagramOne step closer to fear! #BhootScares #Bhoot #TheHauntedShip in cinemas 21st Feb. @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumipednekar @bhanu.singh.91 @ShashankKhaitan @somenmishra @dharmamovies @zeestudiosofficial @zeemusiccompanyA post shared by (@vickykaushal09) Inspired by a true story, the film starts with Sea-Bird, a huge ship docked at Mumbaiâs Juhu beach. I am really impressed with the fact that the director used a real event that happened a few years back and infused it with his imagination.
View this post on InstagramDrown yourself...in fear. #Bhoot Trailer out on MONDAY. #BhootTrailer3rdFeb #TheHauntedShip @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumipednekar @bhanu.singh.91 @ShashankKhaitan @somenmishra @dharmamovies @zeestudiosofficial @zeemusiccompanyA post shared by (@vickykaushal09) Vickyâs character Prithvi is struggling with the guilt that he couldnât save his wife portrayed by Bhumi Pednekar and his daughter who he lost in an accident after their raft lost its balance. In fact, Prithvi has frequent hallucinations of both his wife and daughter after they are dead.
View this post on InstagramIf you listen close, your past always haunts you. #BhootScares #Bhoot in cinemas 21st Feb. #TheHauntedShip @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumipednekar @bhanu.singh.91 @ShashankKhaitan @somenmishra @dharmamovies @zeestudiosofficial @zeemusiccompanyA post shared by (@vickykaushal09) Prithvi works as an officer in a shipping company and he has been assigned a task to offload Sea-Bird from the Juhu beach as thereâs no one to claim it and moreover, there are haunted tales associated with the ship.
When Prithvi is investigating the ship, he does come across paranormal activities. Even after realizing things are wrong with the ship, he decides to investigate it further. The more he gets to unfolding the mystery of the ship, the more he gets haunted by the spirit.
View this post on InstagramThe only way out of fear is to face it! But is it that easy? #Bhoot #TheHauntedShip #21stFeb2020A post shared by (@vickykaushal09) Well, I cannot tell you what happens next as itâs for you to find out. But, the very twist of the movie is interesting and unlike other Bollywood horror movies.
Vicky Kaushal has done a terrific job and it feels like the entire burden of the movieâs success has actually been left on his shoulders in which he doesnât disappoint. Kaushal has been constantly saying in his interviews that he is not a big fan of horror stories but hats off to him for pulling this off so well. He has also mentioned that he is hydrophobic, heâs also seen doing some underwater scenes and that reaffirms how much he is willing to experiment for his roles.
View this post on InstagramHappy Birthday to You! #BhootScares #Bhoot in cinemas 21st Feb. #TheHauntedShip @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumipednekar @bhanu.singh.91 @ShashankKhaitan @somenmishra @dharmamovies @zeestudiosofficial @zeemusiccompanyA post shared by (@vickykaushal09) We also get to see Ashutosh Rana but itâs disheartening to see his talent getting wasted completely in the movie and only being reduced to someone who will chant mantras to stop the spirit from attaining what he or she wanted.
The story behind the haunted ship isnât really convincing but then again, Dharma Productions is trying the horror genre for the first time. I also liked the cinematography and CGI of the movie which was far better than most of our movies for that matter.
The movie does try to spook you on numerous occasions but doesnât really send chills down the spine. In a nutshell, Vicky Kaushal wonât disappoint you but donât expect the movie is going to haunt you for the whole night.

Pujara, Kohli & Vihari: New Zealand's Kyle 'Giant' Jamieson Brings The Menace Test Cricket Deserves

Standing tall at a staggering six feet and eight inches (2.03 metre), Kyle Jamieson first grabbed limelight when was included in the New Zealand squad of the One-Day International (ODI) series against India. While his bowling capabilities was still unknown on the international circuit, Jamieson did get attention after becoming New Zealand's tallest cricketer in history, taller than Kiwis batting coach Peter Fulton (6'6).
After sitting out in the 1st ODI, Jamieson was handed his international debut in the second match where he bagged two wickets including the brilliant in-swinger to send Prithvi Shaw back into the hut. The third and final ODI saw him taking just one wicket, after he castled Mayank Agarwal's stumps, but his bowling skillset was hard to overlook.  Move over Two Metre Peter! Meet NZ's *new* tallest cricketer Kyle Jamieson 2.03 metres (6'8) in jandals #FordTrophy pic.twitter.com/eLbZFMWz4U â BLACKCAPS (@BLACKCAPS) January 16, 2016 A seamer of Morne Morkel's mould, only taller by three inches, Jamieson has an ability to extract extra bounce and swing the ball at will which was touted to trouble prominent right-handers in the Indian line-up. But, that's not all. The 25-year-old, despite his inexperience internationally, has proved his understanding of the game as a bowler to trouble the opposition with testing line and length - something that was on full display during Day 1 of the 1st Test between India and New Zealand.
The lanky seamer would likely have not played the clash at the Basin Reserve if Neil Wagner, away on paternity leave, had been available. But, on his Test debut, Jamieson might have left an indelible mark on the match and probably the series with the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Hanuma Vihari on Day 1.  © Twitter/@BLACKCAPS Jamieson welcomed Kohli with a short ball, so short that it was deemed a wide by the on-field umpire. In his next over, he bowled a couple of short balls before following it up with a fuller delivery. His first full-length delivery to Kohli was too straight which further allowed the Indian captain to work it for a couple.

@BLACKCAPS #NZvsIND â Swamp (@sirswampthing) February 21, 2020 While Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane immediately got to rebuilding the innings, Jamieson, after the drinks break, got back to haunt the visitors with his impressive bowling. He drew blood again with what looked like a repeat of the Pujara dismissal, only this time getting rid of Hanuma Vihari (7) to have India reeling at 101/5.
He nearly grabbed his fourth wicket after bouncing Rahane with a mean short of a length delivery. But, despite taking his eyes off the ball and throwing his bat up in self-defence, Rahane was fairly lucky the ball lobbed to safety. From initially being aggressive to batting solidly, a change in approach from Rahane allowed him to weather the storm as he continued to play the ball late and with soft hands, stitching a much-needed 21-run partnership with Rishabh Pant (10*) at Stumps.  First Test cap ??

His impressive spell of 3-38 which included prized wickets of Pujara, Kohli and Vihari didn't just allow the home side to gain a crucial upper-hand, but also allowed Jamieson to establish his reputation as a brilliant seam-bowling option for the Kiwis.

The First Reviews Of 'Bhoot' Are Here & Sadly, Only Vicky Kaushal Fans Call It A Must-Watch

"Bollywood can't do horror movies" - this is one of the biggest topics of discussion every time a Bollywood horror movie comes out and well, looks like this is going to be upheld for the time being as Vicky Kaushal's Bhoot â Part One: The Haunted Ship seems to have failed to impress people, oh well, except for the actor's fans, of course. While Vicky Kaushal is one of the top, most critically-acclaimed actor right now, apparently, he missed the mark with this one. Full props for experimenting with a new genre, though.

This Man Kept Buying Land Surrounding Ranthambore Tiger Reserve For 22 Yrs & His Reason Is Genius

Itâs true when they say you havenât seen the best of it until you have answered your true calling. It is almost as if fate comes calling when you are sharing a smoke with your friends or enjoying a wildlife safari in the middle of nowhere.
Nature lover and ace photographer Aditya Singh hadnât known what was about to hit him when he was out in the wild at the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, working on a documentary film for BBC.
© Aditya Singh Recalling the life-altering experience that awaited him, Aditya told MensXP, âI was working on a documentary film for BBC. They were making back-to-back two films there, with 200 hundred days of the shoot. During that time I once saw this male predator cross the reserve and go to the adjacent barren piece of land. That got me thinking and I started digging up about this piece of land.â
When realisation struck, Aditya figured out that numerous sub-adult tigers seek out the barren piece of land around the reserve when they have to leave their family unit. Thatâs when Aditya made a decision that would change life as he knew it. âI figured that the piece of land was relatively cheapâ and so he decided to leave his previous life behind, buy the piece of land and settle down smack amidst the wilderness.
© Aditya Singh However, Aditya is quick to share that there were other factors at play too. âMy wife and I moved to Ranthambore from Delhi in early 1998. Back then we were doing our own thing and werenât really happy with how things were going. What we really wanted to do was to settle down near a forest and lead a laid back, environment-friendly life.â And just like that, Aditya and his wife Poonam packed their lives in a suitcase, leaving behind their well-paying jobs and comforts of the city, for a life in Sawai Madhopur.
© Ashish Parmar That was 22 years ago, and today, Aditya and Poonam own most of the land surrounding the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan.
It started with a single piece of land that Aditya and Poonam bought with the savings they had earlier set aside for a car. âWe wanted to take a piece of land and convert it into a climate change frontier, basically a space that recharges water levels and welcomes wildlife to sustain.â
© Aditya Singh But what started out as a small area of land, has now transformed into 35 acres of land surrounding the Reserve, and it hasnât really been a cakewalk. Aditya says, âAt that point, we thought we could afford it, because my wife and I were just the two of us and didnât have familial responsibilities holding us back. Coming from small towns also ensured we had good savings and thatâs how we launched ourselves into buying pieces of land over time.â
© Aditya Singh But arranging the funds was just the start, and the more difficult bit came after. âSo, while buying land in such random (and far off, remote) areas one needs to start networking. The very first time, it took us almost a yearâs time to convince the landowners of our intentions - that we arenât buying the land to build a hotel or sell it off after we get enough appreciation.â
However, post this initial hurdle, Aditya saw things becoming much easier, âOnce convinced they were more willing to sell their land. We were even able to rope in one of the sons of the most influential family in the village who became the caretaker of our piece of land. Then we just fenced the barren piece of land and left it as is. At this point, the only thing we had to ensure was that no one was grazing their cattle on our land or cutting anything that grows on it.â
© Aditya Singh This one decision would eventually end up changing not only Aditya and Poonamâs lives, but also all those numerous tigers, wild boars, leopards, nilgai and deers in the area who are frequent visitors on their piece of land. âFor the first 4-5 years, only bushes grew, followed by the first trees a few years later. In the meantime, we kept adding more and more land, and eventually managed to kind of cordon off the entire tiger reserve.â
© Aditya Singh Today, almost 22 years later, Aditya says he is stuck with these pieces of land that everybody wants to buy, but he doesnât want to sell. Itâs kind of also become a liability for him because Aditya and Poonam now have a daughter and need to take care of her. But with so much land to take care of, their savings have reduced to almost nothing.
© Aditya Singh But Aditya also proudly shared how they managed to turn their forest into a big water recharge space. âWe have created ditch dams, so with rainfall, the ditch gets filled up with muck but the small dam behind it stays. So, the rainwater instead of moving out of the land, stays in it till it is all absorbed into the ground. While earlier we used to find water at 40 ft below the ground, we now find it at 8 ft. So imagine the difference it has made because merely a kilometre away from us your borewell has to be at a depth of 450 meters below the ground to find water.â
© Aditya Singh Having come such a long way over the last 22 years, one would expect Aditya to have faced quite a few challenges along the way, but all he says is that, âYou have to give it a lot of time.â Farmlands are usually monoculture so it takes time for other plants and trees to find their footing on the land. Then there is the nuisance called weeds, which has to be taken care of manually.â
© Aditya Singh But besides that, itâs ânetworking with the locals which is very time-consuming. It takes years to convince them that you wonât plot the land and sell it. However, after those initial few years, it gets easier to convince people or gather helping hands.â
Today with very little land left to be bought in the area, at 53, Aditya is looking forward to retiring and perhaps also trying his hands at film making after having worked as a field assistant for filmmakers for the last 22 years, besides letting his forest spill magic for years to come.
© Aditya Singh At a time when the world is losing out on these beautiful creatures of the wild in the most tragic ways, not only did Adityaâs thoughtful efforts give a fresh lease of life to the tawny predators, it also ensured that other animals of the wild found a safe haven in his forest, away from their own.
With his lush forest, all with their watering holes and ample hunting offerings, Aditya has managed to preserve and further a sanctuary for the wild beasts who deserve to live like the royalty that they are.

Here's A Definitive Sneakerpedia That Every Sneakerhead Should Know Before Buying New Kicks

What makes a person a true sneakerhead? If you're new to the enticing world of sneakers and have only started admiring the impeccable details on each silhouette, it's time you get introduced to terms that will help you navigate your way in a world where hypebeasts wait for the next sneaker drop and 'Player Exclusives' are more precious than diamonds.
Here's what you should know:
1âs, 3âs, 4âs, 5âs-
This refers to Jordans that are made each year, and are numbered likewise. If you hear something along the lines of âHey, those threes are pretty dope,â theyâre usually talking about a Jordan 3. Aglets-
Aglets are the tips of the shoelaces secured and bound together in a plastic sheath. However, these days they're also made of materials like carbon fibre to even custom labelled versions. © Getty Images Beaters-
Beaters can be defined as the go-to sneakers that despite being worn multiple times, look stellar. More importantly, the wear and tear over the years, adds character to the silhouette and unconsciously you will reach out for your beaters every time you need to pick sneakers with your outfit. Bespoke- Bespoke refers to "made to order," or "made to fit," it definitely does not mean off the rack. The term comes from suits and shoes that were customized. Bespoke for sneakers refers to one-of-a-kind Air Force 1 designed at Nike's 21 Mercer location where they lend a one-of-a-kind experience of creating a personalized silhouette with access to all sorts of materials and finishes, right down to the stitching and labels even. An experience that every sneakerhead wants to check off their bucket list.  © Getty Images Breds-
Breds refers to the colour combination of black and red, usually associated with the colourways of Jordans. Coke Whites-
Coke whites, as the name suggests, are sneakers that are whiter than white sneakers. Colourways-
A sneaker's colourway is the exacting combination of colours combinations used in a sneaker. Sometimes, different combinations are given nicknames in terms of colourways used in a sneaker. © Getty Images Deadstock-
DS, an acronym of Deadstockis is a term that refers to a pair of sneakers that have never been worn before. Deubré-
The iconic Air Force 1 features an intriguing detail, the deubré. While 'lace tag' is a simple way of referring to it, deubré makes it sound cooler. Flight Club-
A sneaker consignment store. Besides eBay, the flight club is the go-to place for resellers and buyers for limited sneakers. © Getty Images Grails-
Grails, in Seakerpedia, is very similar to a bucket list. Now, a bucket list can be defined as a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket. Likewise, grails are shoes you have to have before you die. Grails tend to be extremely limited sneakers that can define your sneaker collection or even complete them but you'' have to pay a hefty price for it. High-Top-
High-tops, back in the day were actual high-tops i.e the height of the sneaker was well above the top of the ankle. However, in present times, there are very few true high-tops made. They're a rare collectable for some sneakerheads. © Getty Images Hypebeast-
A Hypebeast consumes 'hype', this means they'll get every new release. Basically, the more hyped the sooner it'll be in their collection. However, this may not necessarily be a good thing, considering some times certain sneakers may not be worth the hype. Hyperstrike-
The Hyperstrike refers to the most limited editions. They generally drop without warning and due to limited supply, their prices skyrocket. Another distinct feature of Hyperstrikes is the fact that they are kept under wraps for as long as possible, it's hard to get your hands on this one. © Getty Images Lows-
Lows, or otherwise known as low-tops, are typically cut below the top of the ankle or lower. Mids-
Mids are the most commonly sighted sneakers. So, trainers and many basketball shoes fall into the mid-cut category.  © Getty Images OGs-
Like the acronym suggests, OGs stand for Originals. The first time a silhouette is released, it's called OG. Not a re-release or a collaboration, or a second edition for that matter. Player Edition-
A player-edition sneaker is one that is designed in collaboration with a sporting star. Then they're retailed off with the player's name attached to the silhouette, and the brand the played share profits. These are often limited editions and the prices go up once a player retires or dies untimely. An example of this will be 'Kobes', sneakers based on the legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant.   © Getty Images Player Exclusives-
With PE as an acronym, a player-exclusive sneaker is designed for the player and the player alone. These aren't meant for retail in the market. Colourways are one-of-a-kind and they only come in one size on sites like eBay at exorbitant prices. Reseller-
A reseller is an entity that buys sneakers in bulk with the intent of selling them. People associate resellers with people who attach extra zeroes on the price tag, but they're also the ones going to lengths to get limited-edition sneakers. © Getty Images Retro-
A retro model is a sneaker silhouette that came out in the last couple of years in response to the overwhelming demand that is re-released. Tonal-
Tonal refers to single-colour makeup. Tonal is a fancy way of saying that the sneaker is all in one colour. © Getty Images Upper-
When describing a shoe, the upper is essentially any portion above the outsole and midsole. The 'upper' is materials like colours, straps and sometimes even wings.

A Waiter Tripping & Not Dropping Any Of The Four Plates He Was Carrying Is Pure Spider-Man Energy

A waiter tripped and now, we're tripping over the fact that he didn't drop anything after tripping. This could honestly be a tongue-twister. But seriously, this might be the most impressive thing I've ever seen, or among my top five at least. Just tripping and falling is something every clumsy person can relate to, but not destroying anything is something no one can. Maybe, only superheroes, since the incident is quite similar to that one iconic Spider-Man scene.
Now, look at our guy. Just flawless. Big Spider-Man energy. The superhero in question is 24-year-old Jamie Shoebridge, who slipped on some peppercorn sauce and fell to the floor, taking down a decorative plant in the process. But, his balance was so impeccable he managed to drop not even a single thing. All the four plates were completely okay. Talking about the incident, he said, "One minute I was walking along with the plates and the next minute I was on the floor. I lost my footing and fell down face first. There was some peppercorn sauce on the floor and I slipped on it. Itâs all a blur and Iâm not sure how it happened. It was just an instinct to lift my arms up and try to save the plates. I just got back up and carried on as normal." © YouTube He basically pulled off something almost impossible and then carried on like nothing happened. What a cool thing to do!
He went on to add, "I have no idea how none of the plates got smashed. Iâm impressed with myself. It didnât hurt but I was very confused as to how it happened. We all had a laugh about it in the office. It has become a bit of a running joke at work now." I feel bad for all the people who work there now, tbh. Imagine dropping something after this incident and being reminded of Jamie's superhero act. No one can mess up now, it would be so embarrassing.

Lord Hanuman Now Joins The Race Of India's Tallest Statues & Gets One At Hampi, His Birthplace

India's obsession with statues has only just begun and we're seeing structures and statues of various Gods come up in different parts of the country. At least, this time, though, the statues are of Gods and not of politicians and it's a bit of a relief, if not much.
India's on a mission of creating the 'world's tallest statues', which began with the 182-metre tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the Statue of Unity, inaugurated in October 2018. © Twitter As of now, we don't have much clarity on the details and the construction of the Hanuman statue but we do know that the statue will be 10 feet shorter than Lord Rama's since Hanuman looked up to Rama and they both were inseparable. But other than that, we're not sure when the project will begin or what the eventual cost would be either.
If you think this is the first statue of Lord Hanuman then you're mistaken. Currently, the tallest statue of Lord Hanuman is the Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami, located in the Paritala town Near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh which stands at a height of 41 meters.  While the Hindu Gods are getting their cemented places in the country, a proposed 114-foot Jesus Christ statue, which was to be built in Harobele village of Karnataka's Kanakapura, a predominantly Christian locality, has been denied construction as many BJP leaders and several Hindu groups opposed it for it to be built. We're sure these statues will eventually serve their purpose of winning one race or the another to see which one is the tallest built God statute in the country. Meanwhile, here are people with some mixed feelings about the Hanuman Statue. I have one question:
Build this, yes, please, but when are we allotting rationing for the hungry children and making govt schools more robust? Are we more into Dharm pooja or Karm pooja? â Ankush (@creatywitty) February 20, 2020Please don't use our tax money. Use it on children who need food and education. â Great King (of Cauvery delta) (@Mudi_raj1) February 20, 2020Great project, in fact Kishkinda is worth visiting place by Koppal in Karnataka. Namo has gotten complete staircase to the top, roofed to cover sun and rain ! I hv become subscriber of yr services, Jai sriram ! â Har Har Mahadev ! (@hindubangu) February 20, 2020Statue kyu nahi banaya muftkhori ki aadat hai dilli valo jo aese fijul kharchi karke hospitals school banva rahe hai

Prime Videos Hunters - Al Pacino & Logan Lerman Go Nazi-Chasing, But Its All Too By-The-Book

I was never surprised by Jordan Peeleâs success as a filmmaker. Sure, a few eyebrows were raised when the comedian-writer-Youtube superstar announced his directorial/screenplay debut with 2017âs Get Out - after all, what kind of comedian can write and pull off a horror movie?
The 99% RottenTomatoes score spoke for itself - Which means that this yearâs Hunters, an Amazon Prime drama tackling a fictionalised, bloody and brutal aftermath of the Jewish Holocaust, certainly has a lot to live upto with Peeleâs production credits behind the banner.
© Prime video The story follows the life of Jonah (Logan Lerman) - a young, dope-slinging Jewish kid who, after the mysterious murder of his Holocaust-surviving grandmother, finds himself chasing down the killer through vignettes of late 1970s New York. Heâs soon taken under the wing of another survivor and Nazi-hunter Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino), who introduces Jonah to a world of hidden genocide-conspirators, vigilante justice and moral lines he never imagined he would cross.
Hereâs the thing - weâve been hunting Nazis for a while now, and whether youâre looking at Captain America or Tarantinoâs Inglorious Basterds, the world of Holocaust-justice is well-saturated and thereâs only space for the new, the exciting and the wholly original.
© Prime Video On series creator David Weilâs part, the inspiration for his script comes from a place of genuine reminiscence. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the director explained how inspiration for the series stemmed from old memories. At the age of six, Weil and his brothers would gather around their Holocaust-survivor grandmother to listen to stories illustrating her experiences of Nazi domination in the Unterlüss concentration camp, and World War II at large.
âIt was such a strange and jarring thing to hear as a kid,â Weil told EW on the showâs Brooklyn set. So, he processed them the only way he knew how: âI saw those stories as comic book stories, stories of grand good versus grand evil, and that became the lens through which I saw the Holocaust.â
© Prime Videos This black-and-white, good vs. evil dichotomy is pretty apparent right from the opening scene of Hunters. Weâre introduced to an all-American family barbeque, and within minutes, everyone except the Nazi-in-hiding is lying in their own blood, the latter having been found out by one of the guests. Thereâs a certain prescient aura behind the direction itself - the music, staging and even the camera try their best to tell you whatâs going on. This inevitably hampers keeping a steady pace of tension and mystery through the seriesâ rather long hour-plus episodes, and you develop a sense that things are going exactly where you expect them to, which isnât always ideal for a drama series.
None of this detracts too much from the cinematography and score, however - any â70s nostalgia and war history buff would be delighted to see iconic music put into lovingly crafted shots of exaggerated Nazi archetypes and sombre moments of post-hippie Bronx life.
© Amazon Prime; Greg Austin as Nazi hitman, Travis Leich. His intro shot pans us into a heart-shaped bathtub, surrounded by Third Reich red walls and what looks like a copy of Mein Kampf in hand. To top it off, Liza Minnelliâs Cabaret performance of Mein To keep things moving across different tangents, weâre also taken through the eyes of Jesus-lovinâ FBI agent, Millie Malone (Jerrika Hinton). As a black woman in the seventies, we see her punch above her weight through investigations that meld NASA scientists with Nazi conspiracy theories. Her performance is quite slick and polished, though we wish her character was given a bit more depth and nuance in the script.
© Amazon Prime; Another nice little music-video intro comes in with Malone sitting in an NYC subway train, Bible (and revolver) in hand as Pastor T.L. Barettâs Nobody Knows rings in the background. Thereâs a tiny bit of Pulp Fictionâs Jules Winnfield in h And then thereâs Al Pacino. At nearly 80, itâs surprising that the legendary actor can keep dishing out good performances, but thereâs something a bit generic about the role heâs taken in this film. The dialogues remain somewhat formulaic, sanitised⦠almost mass-produced. While the delivery is spot on (despite an Italian-American playing a European Jew), thereâs the strange sense that youâve heard something like this before. Logan Lermanâs portrayal has the same problem, but perhaps the actorâs Jewish heritage and experience playing working-class heroes lends a good deal of spice to the mix - especially when it comes to emotionally loaded scenes, where he absolutely steals the show.
© Amazon Prime; If only the script worked a bit harder to push both protagonistsâ personalities to the forefront, and let the plot speak for itself. It must be kept in mind though, that despite imperfections in the screenplay, this seems to be creator David Weilâs very first attempt at directing and penning a script of this magnitude. Cinematographer Frederick Elmes helps greatly in bringing this to life, at least in the pilot episode.
Coming from an acting background and transitioning into the shoes of a filmmaker isnât easy for anyone, and while there is clear room for improvement, I absolutely respect Weilâs attempt to meld his grandmotherâs stories with his favourite film inspirations. The series will no doubt remind you time and time again of Basterds, but trades Tarantinoâs razor-sharp focus for a broad approach. Rating: 6/10

From Batting To Bowling, The Famous Test Records From India Vs New Zealand Ties A Fan Must Know

The introduction of the ICC World Test Championship last August marked a historic chapter in the history of the longest format. The pinnacle tournament, aimed to revive the dying format, involves the top nine teams playing each other over two years, with the top two sides qualifying for the all-important final at Lord's in June, 2021.
While the advent of the unique competition revived the interest of fans in Test cricket, it further gives an opportunity to the playing nations to establish global domination in the game's oldest and, probably the most difficult, format. With the competition nearing a year, India currently occupies the top spot in the standings followed by Australia and England in the second and third position respectively.  Enjoying an unbeaten run in the three-Test series they've played so far, Virat Kohli-led India have amassed a staggering 260 points, 64 points clear of the second-placed Aussie brigade. The subcontinent giants will be eyeing another opportunity to extend their lead at the top as they get ready to take on New Zealand in the two-match Test series.  © Reuters In what promises to be a scintillating series, New Zealand, currently placed sixth in the standings, will be eager to accumulate all 120 points on offer to strengthen their position in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. But, that's not going to be easy. Given the history between India and New Zealand, Test matches have always been an exciting affair with memorable moments for both the teams.
With nine classy batsmen and eight lethal bowlers from top-20 rankings on display at the Basin Reserve, the 1st Test is expected to be as exciting as it can in Test cricket. While India go into the contest as favourites owing to their rampant form in the past 12 months, the Kiwis, despite their topsy-turvy run lately, are invincible at home.  The history too suggests the same. While India have won 21 out of the 57 Tests (26 draws, 10 losses) with a win/loss ratio of 2.1 against their Kiwi counterparts, their record in New Zealand is an area of big concern. Out of the 23 matches played in New Zealand, India have only won five games with a win/loss ratio of a mere 0.625.  © Reuters When it comes to batting, India clearly dominates the proceedings. With 1,659 runs to his name, Rahul Dravid is the leading run-scorer in the Test history shared by India and New Zealand. Sachin Tendulkar sits at the second spot with 1,595 runs followed by Brendon McCullum (1,224 runs), Graham Dowling (964 runs) and Bert Sutcliffe (885 runs) in the elite list.
Tendulkar is also the player who has played the most number of Test matches (24) between India and New Zealand. Dilip Sardesai's batting average of 120 remains the best in the Ind-NZ clashes in the longest format. McCullum, who slammed a brilliant 302, holds the record for the highest individual score ever registered by a batsman in Test matches played between the two countries. The record for most hundreds is held by Dravid (6 tons) and most fifties belongs to Mark Burgess (9 half-centuries).  Kohli, who has 735 runs against the Kiwis in the longest format, will have an opportunity, in the upcoming matches, to become only the third Indian to amass 1,000 runs against New Zealand in Test cricket. For New Zealand, Ross Taylor, playing is 100th Test at Basin Reserve and just 13 runs ahead of Kohli in the leading run-getters list, will fancy joining his former captain McCullum in the 1000-run club against India.  © Twitter/@BCCI In the bowling department, there is no surprise to see Sir Richard Hadlee, with 65 wickets, at the top of the leading wicket-takers' list in Test matches between India and New Zealand. He is followed by Indian spinners Bishan Singh Bedi (57 wickets), Erapalli Prasanna (55 wickets) and Anil Kumble (50) in the coveted list.
The record for the most matches played by a bowler in the Ind-NZ Test encounters is held by Daniel Vettori (15 games). India's Arshad Ayub holds the record for the best bowling average (minimum 6 innings and 12 wickets) of 13.7. The best bowling figures belong to India's Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan who rattled the Kiwis in a spell that saw him bagging eight wickets at the expense of 72 runs.  Going into the 1st Test tomorrow, while the records would mean little for the two teams, the Basin Reserve pitch, which appears to be greener than expected, can light the day up for seam bowlers and spell doom for the batsmen. With the track and also the conditions conducive for seam bowling, both the teams will be eager to bolster their line-ups with quicks at the expense of spinners.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip First Impressions: The Sexiest Smartphone In The World Right Now

The latest folding smartphone by Samsung is already making news online and we got a chance to spend some time with the smartphone. It costs Rs 1,09,999 in India and to be fair, we kind of expected it to be priced similar to the Galaxy Fold. While the Galaxy Z Flip uses a very different design from the Fold, it feels more practical and familiar as the classic flip phones from the late 2000s.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Being the second foldable phone by the company, it comes with a new type of folding glass that makes it feel unlike any other smartphone. The display does not feel like a plastic display like the Galaxy Fold and has a smaller body when folded, making it easy to carry it in your pocket. The foldable smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 855+ chipset and is coupled with 8GB of RAM. It comes with customisations that make the overall experience far more refined for a foldable phone. Gestures are fine-tuned keeping the body of the phone in mind and the user interface also has different experiences depending on how you fold the phone.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Speaking of folding and unfolding, the Galaxy Z Flip can be folded in three different angles i.e. 90-degrees, 120-degrees and 180-degrees which makes the display entirely flat. When completely unfolded, we are happy to tell you that the crease is barely noticeable which was a huge problem on the Galaxy Fold. In Z Flipâs case, it is far less noticeable and does not interfere with the viewing experience. The display on the Galaxy Z Fold when folded is 6.7-inches in size and has an aspect ratio of 21.9:9. The smartphone has a fullHD+ resolution which is more than enough for viewing video content on Netflix, YouTube and other streaming platforms.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The hinge system on the Galaxy Z Flip is also a more thought out and refined version of the hinge we saw on the Galaxy Fold. In comparison to the Motorola Razr (weâve used both), it feels more secure and sturdy as compared to Motorolaâs offering. The hinge also has bristles that eject dust and debris each time you fold or unfold the device.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla When folded, there is a 1.1-inch OLED display where all of your notifications from various apps are displayed. It doesnât show the content of your notifications nor can you use it to manage but it is a good way to know what notifications you have when the phone is unfolded. The small OLED display can also be used as a viewfinder for taking selfies. This is a very handy feature as you wonât need to unfold the smartphone each time to capture a selfie. In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features two 12MP cameras on the back and a punch hole 10MP selfie camera on the display. We didnât get enough time with the smartphone to do a comprehensive analysis of the camera quality, however you can expect it to work similarly to other Galaxy phones.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Other customisations also come in the form of software tweaks as the Z Flip runs OneUI 2.1. Some of these features take advantage of the foldable display, but are limited to certain apps at the moment. Samsung hopes that third-party developers might take advantage of the foldable screen and tweak their applications in the near future. When using the Z Flip with the screen opened at a 90-degree angle or better known as âFlex Modeâ, the user interface changes on the camera app and even YouTube. For example, when using the camera, the top half of the display converts into a viewfinder while the bottom half as all the controls for the camera app. It works very similarly to a clamshell makeup box where one would normally find a mirror, you would find the viewfinder to take pictures. You can even use the two separate screens for multitasking as you can launch two separate compatible apps.
© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla While we did not get enough time with the smartphone to give a final verdict, our initial impressions of the smartphone are clearly on the positive side. It feels great to fold/unfold the smartphone and when it comes to the design, it is definitely far superior from the Motorola Razr. When it comes to actually usability of the phone, the Galaxy Z Flip is probably more practical than any foldable phone out there, including Samsungâs Galaxy Fold. With powerful specifications and a folding phone that actually does the job as advertised, the Galaxy Z Flip proves foldable phones are going to be the next big thing in smartphones.

Ravi Shastri Relives His Six-Wicket Wellington Debut Against New Zealand From 39 Years Ago

Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team are set to take on Kane Williamsonâs New Zealand side in the two-match Test series which begins in Wellingtonâs Basin Reserve from Friday. Coincidently, the Head Coach of the Men in Blue, Ravi Shastri also made his debut on February 21 exactly 39 years ago. The former Indian all-rounder relived the day he got to wear the Team India kit for the very first time in an interview with the current batting mastermind Cheteshwar Pujara. The official Twitter handle of the BCCI shared a link to the interview: EXCLUSIVE: Ravi Shastri Takes Us Down Memory Lane @cheteshwar1 chats with Head Coach @RaviShastriOfc on his Test career journey which started in Wellington â by @RajalArora

Full video here ï¸ https://t.co/BDaz7vvB7s â BCCI (@BCCI) February 20, 2020"I would have never believed I would come to the same ground, same venue, playing against the same opposition," Shastri tells Pujara in the video.
"I went into the dressing room, it's the same dressing room. Nothing has changed. The Basin Reserve, I made my debut here 39 years ago. I wouldn't have believed it. To the day, 21st February, I'd be back after 39 years," he says. Pujara went on to ask Shastri about what went through his mind when he landed in New Zealand just one day ahead of the match and the coach replied, "I'll never forget that.I reached New Zealand at about 9:30 in the night. The late Bapu Nadkarni came to fetch me at the airport. The Indian team was at the high commission for their official do.â © Twitter "I went straight to the hotel and my roommate was Dilip (Vengsarkar) but there was no one in the room so I crashed out. Next morning, Sunny (Sunil Gavaskar) lost the toss, we were put in to field and there you were, you were playing the game and you were playing straight away," he says.
"I think I was nervous. I was definitely nervous as one would imagine anyone playing his first game, but I bowled tidily and I got one wicket - of Jeremy Coney - and that got my confidence going," he says. "Conditions were totally different from what you were used to playing in India or anywhere else in the world because there were blustering winds. It was a very very cold day. Thanks to Polly Umrigar's sweater. I didn't even have my own sweater," Shastri recalls. Shastri, who had not yet capitalised on his skills with the bat, only managed to make 22 runs but did not fail to impress with the ball as he became one of Indiaâs leading wicket takers with six scalps under his belt and only second to Kapil Dev who had seven wickets. Sadly, India went on to lose the match by 62 runs.

BCCI's Photo Tweet Of The Wellington Pitch Has Cricket Fans Convinced India Is Losing First Test

The Indian cricket team began their much-anticipated tour of New Zealand on a positive note, whitewashing their opponents 5-0 in the historic T20I triumph. But, the New Zealand brigade bounced back to whitewash their counterparts 3-0 on the back of a spirited performance in the ODI series. With the spoils of the rigorous tour evenly shared, it all boils down to the two-match Test series as both India and New Zealand seek a final flourish to end the proceedings on a high. With noticeable changes in their lineup, the two cricketing giants will be eager to outsmart one another when they take the field in the 1st Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington on 21st February. A day out of the 1st Test, this is what the pitch at Basin Reserve looks like.

Thoughts ? #NZvIND pic.twitter.com/XND442GJFN â BCCI (@BCCI) February 20, 2020But, as the two teams get ready for what promises to be a scintillating clash, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a picture of the pitch at the Basin Reserve which is set to host the tomorrow's clash. Inviting the views of cricket fans, the BCCI tweeted: "A day out of the 1st Test, this is what the pitch at Basin Reserve looks like. Thoughts?"
While the Wellington pitch is known to aid seamers with enough grass to trouble the batsmen, it is reported that it would not incur as much wear and tear as other pitches do in Test matches. But, going by the photo shared by the BCCI, the Basin Reserve pitch seems to have a lot more grass than what was initially expected - something that has got Indian cricket fans worried. Ananya Panday Working With Vijay Deverakonda Makes Her Fans Say 'Finally Struggle Kaam Aagaya'

Ananya Panday needs no introduction and neither does her 'struggle', ever since actor Siddhant Chaturvedi shut her down with one line. While Ananya might be trying hard to forget that incident, looks like people on social media will not let her forget it anytime soon. People still continue to remind her of her 'struggle' in Bollywood no matter what she does.  It's probably why people are talking about that more than the fact she has landed a movie with the nation's heartthrob, Vijay Deverakonda. FYI this movie will also mark the debut of Vijay in Bollywood.
